I do have to admit, the last time we flew into the US from UK, you don’t even need to dig out your passport.  The facial recognition system they have is phenomenal.  Stand in front of a machine and it spits out your form in about 5 seconds.  This was in MSP, I hope SEA has upgraded.

I know. I got into it today (before I was taught how to limit my FB feed!) with someone going off on how Kamala is always pretending to be something she's not (Black, Indian, Southern, etc) to appeal to voters.  I asked how that was any different than Trump selling bibles and pretending to be a Christian?

heh, I've gotten into arguments with folks as well. specifically cruisers that don't travel otherwise and think they know everything. I'll save the last argument for another post. it was a solid one. anywhooo..... when I came back from Cancun, I transferred in Dallas and they had that facial recognition software. the actual cruise terminal does now, as well. (sometimes Miami is full and you go through a temporary tent instead of the terminal, it sucks) 

but, looking up the difference between NEXUS and GE, it sounds like NEXUS is good for both whereas GE is US-only. I did not know that when I started. hmm.....I just went to see how much time I had before my GE is up again, and apparently it's up next month. I never got a notification about it this time. ugh.

Alright one down. Talked to the office manager about not being able to swing rent today and hoping I will be able to pull it off Friday when disability payments should start landing.

Now to talk to my bank and discuss whether I should open a dispute while I wait for a resolution with LinkedIn.

One year on a history weekend I went to a very old Dutch church.
They explained that back in the day (1700s possibly earlier) that church elders would immediately grade the traveling preacher's performance in front of him and decide whether he was good enough to be asked back. I think the volunteer shared there might have been instances where the traveling preacher did not get all the money, he was promised for riding out and preaching that Sunday.

I would just unfriend him and be done with it.  I deleted all friends and family from FB that were politically hostile back in 2020.  I can handle differences of opinion, but when they're just posting memes and attacking the other side.  Yeah, done.

It is 92 with heat index of 97. I had to go out and pick up as much of the major dead limbs as I could which came down during the night Sunday. Two large pieces will need to get cut down into smaller, more manageable chunks. We’ll do that together this weekend. I was going to mow another section of yard, but I am just drenched after 20 minutes out there wrestling branches. The grass will still be there tomorrow.

for real. this is why my parents are still in that damn hotel. they still don't actually have a letter from the bank to verify their cash balance to back up whatever cash offer they will submit. my mother was horrified when I told her to expect a bidding war, and to do all her homework up front and be prepared to put in an offer the day they view a house if they intend to. the last time they bought a house was 1986, things are a little different now.

DH hired window cleaners to come to our house in AZ.  I watched them work and guess what professionals use?  Dawn dish soap and water.  That's it.  They used a microfiber towel to finish any smudges left by the squeegee.

DH has a niece that worked at a truck stop.  Guess what the stuff in the windshield washer stand is?  Dawn dish soap and water.

I think the smeary streaky stuff on the windows is car exhaust built up over time.  Especially if the windows where the cars idle are the worst.

A current copy of their bank statement should satisfy a realtor enough to make an offer.  Things do move fast in the real estate market these days.  

We purchased the Nebraska house two years ago.  We looked at the house on a Friday.  Several other showings happened on Saturday.  On Sunday, the sellers accepted offers of which there were 4 full price offers with no inspection.  We had to pay $15,000 over asking price (which happened to be about what the seller's realtor commission was) to win the bidding war.

We had been looking for 6 months and this was an above average property, so we went for it.  Looking at comparable properties two years later, I think we did OK.
