Finnime - I was having problems with falling every few weeks. PT focused on building strength which was not that helpful in the short term. What has helped is to be extremely mindful of my movements. I've consciously slowed down and try not to hurry. I've always been a bit clumsy and just pushed on through but have had to stop doing that.
The other thing I learned while working in care facilities is to wear solid shoes with rubber soles. Once I fell backwards on a mister patio and hit so hard it still hurts to think about.
It's still hard for me to slow down and put my own safety first but it is imperative for long term health. I hope your DD is able to learn.

Currently sweating my ass off. I have the firepit going and have been shoving a lot of crap on it to get rid of it. I think 90% of my kitchen cabinets are gone now. Yay me. Also reading up on motorcycle licenses. I've sort of decided to start a bucket list. Getting my motorcycle license is number 1. There's a retired motorcycle cop on DH's family so I have a teacher. Woo hoo! Did you know that Medicare does not pay medical bills for motorcycle accidents? I didn’t. I saw something about that on FB a few days ago but I thought that it was so bizarre I just ignored it. Do you mean to say that was actually true (said in disbelief by the woman who would absolutely not get on a motorcycle anymore anyway)

At best, I found out that if they do pay, they claw back any money from any sort of insurance settlement. There is conflicting data out there, so I'm thinking it's something I would not want to try to challenge.

Did you know that Medicare does not pay medical bills for motorcycle accidents? I didn’t. So that would be paid by secondary insurance if you had it? No, Medigap does not pay for anything that Medicare does not pay for. If something is denied by Medicare, your gap insurance doesn't pay it.

I'd like to know, too. It sounds like it could be fun. Um, no. It's where you poop in the shower and stomp the poop down a drain. Your welcome. DD1 came back from summer camp, and that was the hot topic this year. She thought it was so funny that she was loud in the story telling and the laughing that we woke up the missy. At which point I told DS that I never want to hear if he peed in a vent or do other things boys do. Oh. That waffle-stomping. Been there, done that with DH.

TheO said it perfectly. As trite as it sounds, just being there makes all the difference in the world. It really does. I heard too many of my aunts say once the funeral was over, they are all alone in their journey. That is when they needed people and didn't have them. Yep. You guys have been there for me more than the people in real life. You can't even begin to know how grateful I am for all of you.

I went to the vintage fair at the CHI center and had a blast. So much temptation but a lot of it was out of my price range. I was in love with the 60s velvet dress I saw but I'd die in this heat.😪 Here is my stash. I'm super excited to wear the pants suit just no idea where yet. I can wear the top hopefully in the next few weeks The pants will have to wait till real fall. Polyester doesn't breathe! I also found a small bottle of here's my heart perfume from Avon. It was the first "grown up" perfume my my bought me. It still smells pretty good considering the age but I'm never going to. It's for display/nostalgia.

Hanging out at the Lowell Folk Festival. Saw Native Amercan pow-wow dancing. Love the outfits but they must be just dying from the heat while dancing. Now waiting for Irish dancing. As long as I don't have to do it, I'm good

Mass. requires motorcycle insurance. Once the PIP is exhausted it would go to health. First I need to get a permit. I've got a few years before Medicare kicks in. With any luck, I'll be dead by then.

My current foster, Peaches, was traumatized when I first got her but now I can pet her without her trying to take my hand off. She has a photoshoot tomorrow then goes up for adoption.

Looking at a recipe for fig cake. A comment in the pre-recipe description says “figs go will with dried fruits such as almonds, walnuts, and pistachios”.

Showered, made breakfast, did bookkeeping, went to Aldi and napped. Now running laundry. Tomorrow is the weekly floor mopping and menu planning. We're excited about Tuesday's dinner reservation at the French/Spanish place we love. Tapas, branzino, lamb chops and this crazy chocolate and caramel dessert.

About 1.5 hours past me. 8 hours, give or take. We could always fly. DH says he has a brother (possibly a sister too) available. He got it from a customer. We can fly standby as one of DD’s benes. We don’t use it very much. DH and I flew to DC 3 years ago to pick up my car. Other than that, every time I used it, I was with DD. In other news, we finally have plates on my car. DH says they did not charge him for the missing 2 years of registration. CUTE! I rarely use my DD's flight benefits either. I think her dad and step mom travel a lot, so they do. But I don't.

I can't foster for the same reason. I would have a house full of cats, way more than I could properly take care of.
