Right now I am sitting here waiting for a text letting me know I am a great grandfather. I never pictured you as great grandfather age.

I like the brand, the deck and the walk out basement I just amazed at the large numbers of really nice ranch houses there. Prices and taxes are reasonable. Here in north jersey that would be 25 years ago and there never were many ranch houses. Mostly 2 story or bilevel. Now there’s a premium on houses with BR and bath on first floor Good for you andi!!

I never pictured you as great grandfather age. Neither do I. (I'm 67) I'll be lucky to be a grandma at 67. I do hope to live long enough to meet a great grandkid.

Home to feed little daughter. And I was tired and needed a break. I'm doing good.
Got the floor mopped except the little office which is grandsons room too, but that won't take long. I wiped down all the living room walls with the dustmop and washed the windows inside. I don't think you can open them from inside and do the outside ones, darn. I have all the upper cabinets cleaned and the tall pantry in there and the drawers. The 3rd shelves are so high, tall as I am I can't reach them without a ladder so not really useful. I started on the bottom and have taken 5 trash bags of bowls, lids, all kind of stuff out. I will have to have son put those in his can of They won't get pitched, mine is small. And there are more. Probably like use and ran out of room. Maybe 1 or 2 more bags.
I also put draino down everything and got garbage disposal cleaner, same for d/w, and clothes washer so those are done. I'm going to go back and finish the cabinets and mop the floor in the office, and maybe clean the bathrooms, will see. I'm sure the appliances are quite new as there isn't even dirt on top of the fridge and the stove oven is blue and I've seen that in newer ones. No complaints about those. Son is going over to turn the fireplace pilot light off for me. It actually put heat in the house last night!! We don't need that. I have the windows open and its nice, 75. In this other place had to turn the AC lower was to hot.
Made it to the grocer too so we can eat tonight. Have lots of fruit and veggies too. I got 2 wings and a leg for $1.09 at Safeway and then broccoli salad and Cole slaw. The broccoli is really good.
Ok resting about an hour then back at it. I will go to bed early again tonight, I think/

The Tullis house is still available. I really like it. It's just so far away from where I want to be! Bear in mind that I live in the city so I don't drive like some of you guys do. It's 13 miles from downtown KC. I don't drive all over like that. Plus, it's in the whitest neighborhood. I don't know what kind of people live there and I don't know if I'll have issues with people thinking I don't belong and calling police on me for every little thing. I realize it's 2024, but racism is very much alive today and I am very brown. Maybe drive there and go knock on a couple doors and ask about the neighborhood? Or better yet show up sometime this weekend when they will be out. I looked at a home years ago in a predominately black neighborhood. I did get quite a few looks going to the house and back, so I did wonder if they'd be mad if I bought the house. I suppose it should have occurred to me sooner as if was on or near a road named something like MLK boulevard. The house wasn't perfect but thy had put this really nice great room addition on in the back.

andi I’m really sad to read you worry about moving to a white neighborhood. Any neighborhood will be fortunate to have you move there!

My friend P is not doing too good. I understand, I probably wouldn’t be doing too good if I was her either.
Within 4 years, she’s lost her Mom, then her 14yo Grandson 2 years later, and 2 years after her Grandson died, now she’s lost her husband.
I’m not good with this kind of stuff, so I don’t even know what to say to her. So I just tell her that, that I don’t know what to say, but I feel so bad about this and everything she’s been through lately, and I love her and I’m here for anything she needs that I can do for her.
Because I was single for so many years, I use to say that I’d never be any man’s ride or die chick. But years ago, she and I got so close that I was a ride or die chick for a woman lol, specifically, her. I might cuss and fuss and say“you know this is some bullshit, right?”, even as we were on our way to some shenanigans, but I was willing to go there for her, and did.
She is a good person, and her husband was good people, so she has been bombarded to an overwhelming degree, with people reaching out to her, because they know her, or because they knew him. Everyone that knows them or just mostly knew him, is shocked that he died so suddenly.
My heart is so heavy. I know she has to work through this herself, but I hate it that she has to. He was with her, providing comfort when she lost her Mom, and when she lost her DGS, and now he is gone too, after having been her real best friend in ways that me and her other friends couldn’t be, for about 15 years.
Any of you that are willing, please pray for my friend P, send good vibes her way, or whatever other positivity you can send her way. Pretty please.

Pink Cashmere My advice would be there for her when everyone goes home. She most likely doesn't know what she needs. Just listen to her. Take her a meal. Just be present and let her grieve her way.

I just came back from a celebration of life for my friend - who passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago. But he died doing what he loved best - biking in the mountains. He was just 53 and has a teenage daughter.
It seems to make everything so trivial when you look at a life lost so early.

I am going to say screw it tonight.
I wanted to run the carpet cleaner over our living room carpet again, in the high traffic areas. I think that's a hard no. Life is too short.

Currently sweating my ass off. I have the firepit going and have been shoving a lot of crap on it to get rid of it. I think 90% of my kitchen cabinets are gone now. Yay me. Also reading up on motorcycle licenses. I've sort of decided to start a bucket list. Getting my motorcycle license is number 1. There's a retired motorcycle cop on DH's family so I have a teacher. Woo hoo!

There is most definitely an AirTag somewhere around the entrance to our garage. We can just barely hear it when we make it play sound, but we can’t pinpoint its exact location and find it. I am kind of freaking out. Try not to freak out. You will figure out how to find it and deactivate it. While it might be the car/garage, do you think Kiddo might be AirTag'd by mom and he left it behind by accident? I am wondering if someone has an airtag on their cat or dog?

TheO said it perfectly. As trite as it sounds, just being there makes all the difference in the world. It really does. my dad taught me this. Your friend needs your presence. If you can just be with her and help her do simple tasks and let her grieve. If you can't be there, consider calling just to say hi. Some people will say just ask and I'll do it for you, but they do not mean it. Its just words to them. Your friend knows you are willing to be there for her, so don't let the illusion of these others persuade you you are not needed. You are needed. Possibly right now. I will pray and send blessings to you both. May the universe treat you both kindly and gently. These losses are part of life, and they suck. But one's support system can help you through the worst of it.

I came here to tell y’all that DH came home with a pug puppy. He is black and we are calling him Oso. I already have 2 dogs. I did not want another one until these two were gone. Hopefully DH will find someone who wants him.
