Thankful for summer hours today. Manager was in town for 2 days so we could have a working session. Managed to schedule a haircut for lunch time, to which DH wondered how he would get to walk - I told him earlier in the week that I would take him to the school so that he could walk the track once manager left town, but it rubbed me the wrong way his first thought was about himself. I get that he's been house bound for months but it's not like all of this has been a picnic for me either. I've been running ragged taking care of EVERYTHING and working around his appointments and this is the first thing I've done for myself in months. I'll likely get pissed off and cancel, which will piss me off even more. No Don't cancel! I got a long lecture from my therapist last night about my complete neglect of self care. If I have to care you to care too! Go get your hair cut.

Don't cancel, daisy!
God knows I need a haircut. The split ends are annoying the crap out of me.
I'd like to cancel my Verizon service call tomorrow but I need working Internet to pay my bills. Plus my equipment is old so it's getting replaced at the same time. Joy. Guess I'll finally be mowing the yard while waiting for him. That's if I don't get grievously injured taking my foster to the vet this morning. I tried drugging her but she wouldn't eat the damn food until 5 minutes ago. She had a bad experience with being put in a carrier before so I don't know how well this is going to go. Can't wait!

Is is considered winning therapy if after you lay out what is going on in your job tye therapist is silent for a moment then says if she had to work in an environment like that she'd develop severe anxiety too?
I know yall and DH have been saying that too but talking to a therapist hits different.
I'm glad I restarted. Especially if I end up stuck at my job for an indeterminate amount of time.
I'm not getting my hopes too high on either job because I don't need that depression on top of everything else if I get rejected.
But at least two are interested. I told the therapist hopefully one or both will see my talent and decide they'll happily take what my current employer is wasting.
Senior director tried making conversation with me yesterday about micro needing help and having opportunities to cross train so I would be better prepared if another associate position came up.
I'm proud of myself. I made all the right noises when whatbI really wanted to say was after the way they talked to me and treated me I wouldn't help management up there if they were on fire.
The techs and associate microbiologist are cool though. But I refuse now to work under that management just the same as mine.
Fuck you that my resume matches perfectly but since it wasn't under you it doesn't count.
It will to someone else. Hopefully.

blue screen here as well. glad I'm home! I'm just puttering around doing typical Saturday chores and periodically trying to reboot. a friend commented on my FB post that she was able to get online recently. so I figure I'll give it a half assed try for the same. 🤷♀️

I got an automated text asking if my company laptop has a blue screen of death.
I'm off today so guess I'll find out on Monday

I'm technically off but there's something I was trying to finish this morning. And I need a functional laptop for being on site next week.
Mine is churning through reboot cycles. I'm about to go run some errands. I was waiting on places I need to open up.

I'm getting the "recovery" screen once in awhile on the cycles, so I occasionally have to click a button to manually restart. but yes, mine is doing the same.

I don't have a blue screen, but epic is not cooperating and I need it to.

One of the bathroom walls had some bubbling on the side (to me) that was a little concerning but overall, I like it!

That's going to be a problem for me. I have a renewal that is down to the wire. If I don't get certificates out today the trucking company shuts down. Those guys get paid by the mile, so they lose God knows how much money while I am helpless to do anything about it.

I got a message from my boss about the Microsoft issue and to wait to log on. It was at like 7:30am so I was like, well of course - I'm not one of those people logging on at 6am every day (didn't say that but I was thinking it!)!! DS has his first week of sleep-away camp on Monday, so we'll need to shop for supplies tonight and Saturday. He seems excited to go and I think he'll make some friends and have fun, but I sure do hope he'll remember to put on bug spray and sunscreen. And for God's sake, the counselors had better FORCE the kids to shower nightly. His tween funk is already pretty epic, so I can only imagine what it would be like after a full day of being outside and active.

How many cars do you have? Between the 2 of you. 6. I have 2, he has 4 now. If it helps, we have 7 Although only 6 of them are currently running. There’s a car gathering tonight that DS wants to go to-right after his camp, at an ice cream place. I have been tasked with driving one of the 1993 muscle cars to pick him up while DH gets the Vette and its working AC since he’s coming straight from work. Just took a spin around the block in the ‘93 car so he could acquaint me with all its current quirks: the e brake doesn’t work, the turn signals don’t auto-cancel, can’t put it directly into 1st gear without sliding the shifter into 2nd first, the unlock button is a little wire lever bc the plastic fell off, and I cut my finger on a sharp bit of the door grabbing at it after whacking myself in the glasses DS loves those cars. Ngl tho, DH looked pretty hot bending over the engine with black stuff all over his hands in white shirt business dress

They'll rinse off in lakes (or the pool if they have that instead). My kids did a lot of weeks at camp and half the time they'd come home with their bag still full of the clean underwear they'd packed to change into.

I don’t have a blue screen, but company-wide, no one is able to log into the online time clock.

But I guess I'd better prepare my gag reflex just in case...

I wa a boat anchor to him, I could do absolutely nothing other than sit on my ass. He was working too, ridiculous hours and often had to go back to work after dinner for a few more hours. I wonder if some of this is gender related? I busted my butt to not be any more trouble than I was, even when he washed one of his pens in a load of my shirts and every single shirt I owned out here was ink stained. I didn’t say anything, just went online and bought more.

Don't cancel the appointment daisy. Microsoft apparently screwed a bunch of us over last night if your laptop was left on and connected like we are advised to. I've got a blue screen of death. I thought the help desk started sooner but I didn't get through until 8am and I was 33 in line. DH works for a different op div of the agency and he got an email describing the issue. He was in the office yesterday so he shut down when he came home and booted up this morning with no problem. I just got an email from my leadership saying we are all affected so I hung up on the help desk que. A friend of mine who works in IT posted this morning to pause all Windows updates. I’d trust her on this, so paused updates until the middle of August on my desk stop.

It was ingrained in me early to not be a pest and do whatever I can to make things easier for people around me - including neglecting myself in order to do it. ESPECIALLY neglecting myself. It was what was expected from me. My brother has had no such expectations put on him.
