I'm a pretty light packer for the most part.
Gwen on the other hand packs like she's on her grand European tour before being married off to the wealthy lord next door.
We make her carry it.🤣

I bought myself two new American Tourister hard cases yesterday as a birthday present to myself! These are 28" bags for when we want to check luggage. I don't buy anything larger because you can easily pack more than 50 pounds in a 30" bag.
DH and I can usually travel for two weeks in one checked bag each. A carry on bag will hold me for a week. DH has more trouble because his size 13 shoes take up a lot of real estate in a suitcase. I have been buying clothes that I save for travel. Things that pack well with minimal bulk. I really like packing cubes too.

Mister just left to go play with his new toy. He was undecided even after he got home, about whether he was going out to play today. Then he came and said he was going and asked if I wanted to go. I said not unless you really want me to, I’m good with you and your new baby spending some time alone.
I was in the driveway when he backed out of the garage, just in case he needed me to guide him. There are bricks surrounding a flower bed, right at the entrance to the garage on the side he uses. The bricks are a few inches into the garage door opening, and the garage itself is so small that you have to do things just right to get to get into it and park if there is another car in the garage. His Accord has had incidents with the bricks a few times, once with his Dad driving it, and a few times with Mister driving it. Mister’s last incidence was just a few weeks ago, when he scrubbed his back panel and wheel on the bricks. I just happened to be outside then too, and once the wheel scrubbed the bricks and he stopped moving, there was no way to maneuver without causing a little more cosmetic damage to it. Mister was upset about all of those incidences, because his Accord is his baby too, so I feel like he might have a stroke if it happens with his new car, so I am willing to watch for now.
Anyway, once he got out in the driveway, I told him to be safe and have fun.
Looking at the car when he was coming out of the garage, I had to admit that even though it’s not what I would’ve bought for myself, it really is a sexy car lol.

I just climbed into bed, with Miss Congeniality on the sleep timer. I'm really hoping that tonight breaks the insomnia cycle. 🤞🤞🤞

I'm trying to improve my packing. But as I tell DH, I have a bunch of stuff you don't have. Contacts, contact solution, glasses, bras, makeup, and on and on. Plus I end up gathering up the stuff that is for both of us like sunscreen, water bottles, charging brick, etc.
I do better if I don't wait until the last minute. Car trips I will toss anything in there because it doesn't need to be packed up nicely like for flying.
I'm afraid for rental car space reasons to take my 28 inch checked bag with me on Sunday but I'm not seeing any other way to get 5 days of business professional dress. Even if I wear the same shoes every day, I still need at least 3-4 blazers. Those are space hogs.

I bought an air fryer and a bread maker yesterday during Amazon Prime day, and they both arrived today. I want to make healthier food in the air fryer, and to use the bread maker to make bread without all the additives. So far this health improvement plan is a flop because the first thing I am going to make with them is pizza.

I just cannot figure out how I’m going to fit everything in my carryon. AND I’m going to Florida so I know I’ll be a sweaty mess and can’t really plan to rewear too many things. I don’t know why this annoys me so much, lol. It’s not a moral failure to check a bag, but ugh.

Now I hope ther wifi thing DD1 got for me, from Tmobile works well. They're (DD1+) coming tomorrow, to hook it up/ try it out. They're also going to help me put together a hammock swing I got, on FB Marketplace. (I hope)

I'm a pretty light packer for the most part. Gwen on the other hand packs like she's on her grand European tour before being married off to the wealthy lord next door. We make her carry it.🤣 I usually overpack. Way overpack. Idk how I might feel any given day and what I might feel like wearing that day, so I need options lol. Mister hates it. But when I flew to Pittsburgh back in April, I only had 1 large suitcase, and a backpack for my carryon. That was something akin to a miracle for me and how I usually pack. When we landed and got our luggage, my boss had 2 large suitcases, me and the other guy only had 1. When we teased my boss about it, he said, he never knows how he might feel and want to dress on any given day, so he needs options. Which was hilarious to me because that’s the exact same thing I’ve always said to justify my tendency to take way too many clothes on every trip I took, and it was funny to hear a man say that. But he is always well dressed, and often wears suits because that’s just his style. He shared with me years ago that his Dad insisted that he dress a certain kind of way when he was growing up. And he is a clothes horse. So much so that I wanted to go in the Brooks Brother store that was practically across the street from our hotel in Pittsburgh, but the other guy warned me that that is my boss’ kind of store, and if I went in there with him, I’d be in there for several hours. It may sound sexist, but him and my boss didn’t really want me or the other young lady going away from our hotel without one or both of them going with us. Me or the other lady could’ve insisted, of course, but we never did, because we understood that they were just trying to be the gentlemen they’d been raised to be and look out for us since we were in a strange city. And she and I both appreciated them being willing to go where we wanted to go, so that we didn’t go alone, and in return, we went wherever they wanted to go, if us going was okay with them. But I didn’t want to spend hours in Brooks Brothers, so I just didn’t go, period, and avoided evening mentioning to my boss that the store was right there, hoping he didn’t notice lol.

I check all bag all the time for personal trips. The liquid thing is what gets me. Usually I'm going to a warmer place so I need sunscreen plus all my usual stuff.
I just realized the only potential squish in the rental car would maybe be the last day from the hotel to audit site. I'm the only one flying because I'm leaving from a different city. Everyone else is taking the train. I can probably just leave my bag with the hotel storage in the morning.
Funny how I can straight up ignore all my DH's comments on my packing but I don't want to be judged by my coworkers.

I'm going to bed, I am so tired I fell asleep. I fell asleep in the car waiting to go into the doctors office. I'm just exhausted.
Got a lot done but waiting until I can say some rooms are completely finished till I feel accomplished. We are doing ok though.
I bought dinner at the deli tonight, good price and decent food but DD didn't want anything. The doc today gave me enough ozempic for 6 months, well not gave me. But I am using .25 mg so she left it at .50 so that will do me for that long, they didn't change it. I'm waiting to see how DD's turns out, she was going to do the same for her. Like I said they are all trying to help us, that is so nice of them. Mine is out of the donut hole but it still cost me $589, but honestly that is a good price for it. At the first of the year it would have been undoable. I think I'm stocked up on everything now for both of us.
The mobile is listed now in Washington, so that is done, here's hoping it sells quickly.
Ok, time for bed, good night all.

Thanks for the justification. 🙂 It's a nice house and maybe it could be a contender. I wouldn't call it one without seeing the bedrooms though. What is the red sign in the window? I'll report back on Saturday.

When Mister got home from playing, we were both in the garage because he was bringing the dogs out to play and run around. He had a Camelbak container with water in it in his hand, and whatever he was getting ready to do, he set the cup on the moonroof in my car.
I said “Aht Aht! I watched you make a real life decision, because you looked at your new car, then looked at my car and decided to sit your cup on my car. We gon respect my car the same way we respect yours SIR”. I wasn’t angry, just making a point, in a light hearted kind of way. And he knew I was right about the decision I’d watched him make, and was kind of embarrassed (for lack of a better word that I can’t think of right now) about it, so he got the cup and sat it somewhere else in the garage.
I have several Camelback containers myself, and I know that they don’t “sweat” and him sitting his cup on my car wouldn’t have caused any issues, cosmetic or otherwise. That was not the point though. My point was don’t do something with or to my car that you wouldn’t do with or to yours, and I watched you make the decision when you needed to sit the cup down. If it had been his Honda instead of the new Mustang, he probably would’ve sat the cup on his Honda, without even thinking about it. But my old as Honda is just as valuable to me, as his new Mustang is to him, so even though I do get it about it being new, I’m not willing to dismiss it as being less valuable than his new car even though his new car is worth a whole lot more in dollars, than my car.
So typing that out, tells me that it’s really not about the cars, but something more…. at least for me, if not for him. But I’m not trying to get into all of that tonight.
Anyway, that is how I prefer for us to interact with minor stuff, where either of us can say “look, you just did something crazy and I saw/know it”, and the other person can say “yeah, I was wrong for that”, and correct it or try to make amends, and not make a big deal about it and we just move on.

We are currently sitting outside with the dogs, on our unfinished deck, which is a whole ‘nother story.
When I first came out, the chair I sat in was wet from rain earlier today, and I didn’t realize it until I sat down. So I went inside to change my pants that were soaking wet, and get some towels to dry the chair. When I came back, Mister had already dried the chair and put a towel on it for me to sit on. I took the wet shorts off and changed into some dry panties, but that’s all I did, was change panties.
So I am sitting outside on the deck with a t-shirt covering my upper body, and just panties on my lower body. One thing I love about our house is that it is situated so that if we screen the view on one side of the deck from the big street that is way over there, nobody else can see us on our deck without trespassing and being on our property.
Mister may or may not have always gone out on the deck nekkid sometimes when he lets the dogs out to do their business. I’m not saying he actually does that, I’m just saying that it is possible that he might do it sometimes. For me, it’s a big deal that I am sitting outside now, with just a t-shirt and some panties on.

Over the last week or so, I have gone back through old texts between Mister and I, and even posts I’ve made here in this long thread, even though I’ve not gotten far with my the posts in this thread, because it’s a lot to wade through lol.
My reason was to try to confirm that I’m not just a crazy person trying to rewrite the history of my relationship with Mister.
Just reading our texts from before life went sideways, we had some issues and uncomfortable conversations, but we still tried to communicate with each other and love on each other…. Until we didn’t these last couple of years.
So I’m not mistaken on how we use to be, even when there were problems that needed to be addressed. There is written proof that says we didn’t get to how we are now, until after shit got real with his parents.
That matters to me for a lot of reasons. It doesn’t mean that I won’t still do what I need to do for me, it just means that it is good to have confirmation that I’m not just making shit up in my head, about the good stuff that use to be, and could be again, and even better….. if that’s what we both truly want.

DH claims his jobs regarding travel are to show up, drive and carry the bags. TD just pays the credit card bills. I have abused the Costco card this morning. 7 hotel rooms, a rental car and flight from Dublin to Bordeaux. I should have jumped on the Bordeaux part faster because we were booked out of some of the less eye watering hotel room rates. I did book us a small apartment after we get off the river cruise which has a kitchen. It was cheaper than a hotel room, there is a grocery store not that far away and by then we will probably be sick of eating out. The one thing that I didn't account for is we get booted off the ship in the morning and we can't access the apartment until 4. I'm not sure what we can do in the 5 free hours where we will be hauling luggage - including wedding clothes - around. I'm hoping that since my sister is leaving Ireland right after the wedding, and we are hanging around for another month that she can bring those back with her. Is there a train station, bus station, hostel or someplace with lockers where you could stash your luggage?

I don't know, but it makes my head hurt. Dyslexic? Was instead of saw? I really think if she was dyslexic She would talk about it all the time. I mentioned my BIL is in jail only because I think the Republican 2025 platform will have adverse consequences for him getting an early release. He is a hard worker. He was a leader in his union and is missed in the position he formerly held. I wish we had more effective treatments for alcoholism.

GF thinks it's nice to travel with a porter too.... I have been informed I cannot pack any more than I can carry. So I don’t have a porter. I get told I am overpacking frequently, but at least my DH is willing to act as pack mule. Not overpacking is always a good goal.

Not US American Indian-DH’s family is from the State of Michoacan. DH is one of 8 children. At least 4 have pretty serious drinking problems. His Dad did too when DH was a kid, but quit by the time I met DH.

I'm trying to wake up and shake a dream that had me spiraling just before I woke up. it was all kinds of travel anxiety inducing. I was in Philly and trying to get home, and every step I took just made things go more and more sideways.

Well, I don’t think he can drink in jail, so yes. If he gets out idk. He did seem not to be drinking for a while. He had also lost a lot of weight. Now that DH is on Ozempic, he is wondering if his brother was on it. It is supposed to cut down desire for alcohol as a side effect. My DH is pretty much just a social drinker, but he did say he noticed that when I asked him about it.

If he is drinking because life is hard or he thinks its real hard, the desire for alcohol is less of a problem IMO than the need to escape.

In mine I usually end up in a building in which I have no clue how to get down from. It often looks like only Jackie Chan could figure it out. I hope this is not the kind of dream you are having.
