My Amazon account is under my DH's. I bought a handful of things. Mostly boring stuff like razor blades for DH.

Wilbur tried to nonchalantly walk across the living room with a box of Swiss rolls and take them into his lair under the couch. DH caught him and we took it away. He was very confused as to how his plan to act normal failed.🤣 Too bad you don't have video he could be internet famous!

Showered and got bird seed and groceries. After lunch we'll pick up dry cleaning and I'll fill feeders.

I have a therapy appointment in a few minutes and Realized I’d been ignoring my homework.

ok, so I already knew that I have been more of a homebody this year than usual, esp after busting my foot and not even driving anywhere. but I just got an automated message from my car dealership to say that I'm overdue for service. (I have an appointment for next week...) the last time I brought my car in was late January. so that means I've driven less than 5000 miles in 6 months? yikes. oh, and I finally caught my neighbor coming home. she was able to help me carry the huge piece of plywood that's been covering the dog pool out behind my fence. we will be cooling off this afternoon, YAY! Is being more of a homebody a good or bad thing ?

Took the kids to Perkins for dinner. I hadn't been there forever and it was so good. I haven't been to a Perkins in ages. I don't know if we even have one anymore. Fun fact. My drunk cousin got us kicked out of Perkins once trying to pass of a bottle of alcohol as a bottle of syrup. Well, It's definitely not a cheap place to eat. The burgers were $18, but if you want something that is going to actually fill up a teen boy with an insane metabolism...this one does it!

I haven't tried to walk these guys on a leash other than one at a time into daycare last Thursday, since before I busted my foot. so that's Memorial Day weekend.

I have a therapy appointment in a few minutes and Realized I’d been ignoring my homework. 5. What do you spend most of your time thinking about? What fills most of your thoughts? OMG! I’d hate to be an outside spectator in my brain…… Right now it’s something like……I need to finish up the reservations for Ireland, but what do I pull out of the freezer for dinner, did I run the dishwasher last night or do I need to run it before I leave for lunch, thank God I didn’t test positive for Covid, I’d hate to call Doris and tell her lunch is off, I wonder where she wants to go, can we eat outside? Don’t forget to pull something out of the freezer for dinner! I am NOT drying my hair today, I have been abusing it with the dryer too much, but the half assed beach waves I have look like crap. I wonder if it’s too late to start looking for flights to Australia, but TD needs to make a decision if he wants to do a liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef, we just need to figure out what to do in the 2 weeks between the first available slots on the liveaboard, more money. Maybe find another dive resort, Phuket? Crap, we have plans with 2 sets of friends this weekend, I wish the out of town ones would decide on what they want to eat, do they like seafood? Maybe not, throw an Italian restaurant in there to see if that works. Haven5 heard from C, she wants to meet either Fri or Sat, I wonder where she wants to go. Damn, she’s gluten free, what’s that place in Mount Vernon again? I hope her broken elbow is healing ok, last thing she needs is surgery…….and so on.

We've been wanting to try Frontera brand products by Chef Rick Bayliss F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I'd been planning to order some online, but our local grocery store just began to carry the Frontera brand. So, to celebrate "taco Tuesday", I've got a package of the Frontera taco seasoning sauce mix. I'll let you know if our family likes it.

Finishing an audio book. Catching up on some threads here. Today was a day off everything for my H. and me. I do need to pace myself.

Whew. Just had the pitch and discussion for a potential new project. This one has my name all over it, for reasons, but coworker was trying to metaphorically pee all over it as his territory We’re not actually supposed to speak up at these meetings, the whole point is to let the steering committee discuss, and he just would not shut up. Same guy that yesterday tried to tell me that a log base 2…was basically the opposite of a log base 2. I don’t think he’ll be successful, and it may be a moot point anyway.

I'm trying to find the motivation to play with files. I have a bunch of shit to sign off and scan, inserting the scans back into the original files before sending back. I just don't wanna. waahhhh...
I am also surprised.....I filled Punk's pool earlier. first pass, she hopped in and noped right TF back out of it. I checked, the water was pretty damn cold straight from the hose. so we came inside for a bit and I just gave it another shot. I checked the water temp, it's warmed up nicely in the sun. she still wanted nothing to do with it! I dropped a tennis ball in the middle of the pool, she hopped in to get it and jumped right out. very strange!

Crestie scared the crap out of me a couple hours ago. He was doing his Snoopy impression hanging down a piece of wood, so I just poured water on him because of the heat etc. here. He did not move, did not look for water to clear his eyes. Nothing. I was oh no he's dead isn't he. I touched his tail, and he did jump, but for a minute there it looked like he had chosen to expire on the front left side of his cage. <- Wish I had alcohol in the house

Slightly OT, but I recently bought Simply Organic's Sloppy Joe mix because I need to start using ground turkey more than ground beef or pork. I hope it works OK. Its very hard to find their Onion Soup mix which is my go-to for many things.

DGS and wife were scheduled to fly in last night from Chicago to Newark. Flight canceled . Rescheduled to today from Chicago to LaGuardia . Fight canceled so Chicago to Philadelphia, then on to LG then an Uber. Thought we would be able to spend day at lake then a barbecue. Nope

I'm not going to bed too late or waking up in the night. But I am not getting rested

Nope I’ve always had problems with Chicago flights They’re going to Spain tomorrow . Hope they have better luck There were tornadoes in Chicago last night. There was a derecho that ran from Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, etc. Planes were full of people on the runway when it started. Those planes had to return to the gate to be checked. I once spent a night on a cot at O'Hare and then a long day waiting for my flight because of tornadoes. Watching windows at the airport, I was afraid. My flight was on a 35 seat plane so it got canceled in time that when the tornado hit, I had my new flight and a cot. The people were sat on a plane on the runway didn't get cots. With flights as full as they are, I'm guessing it was difficult to get people on confirmed flights.

The beneficiary on all of my bank accounts has been changed to DN1. He and I had a long talk about it and the reasons why.
He said one of many reasons they are not coming to Iowa this summer is his mom and my sister makes his wife feel like she is an "other". I knew that but to hear him say it and how it makes her feel, was very sad. It's not new, which I didn't know. She did it to his sister's husband.
When she talks about "her" family she means her husband and her and their 4 kids. It now includes biological grandchildren. It does not include spouses or step children because they do not share DNA. That woman!
I knew when we were taking pictures for mom and dad's 65th anniversary, NIL didn't come and get in the picture and I told her to get in the picture, that she was family. He said she isn't always family so she didn't know if it meant her. It doesn't always mean her.
I also have an appointment for a new will.

Just got back from lunch with neighbor. It was a nice day so we decided we wanted to sit outside, by the marina. There is an Italian place there, it was in the same building TD used to work in. Definitely not a cheap lunch, but the atmosphere made up for it. Food was excellent, so that did help.

Got my flood insurance renewal - $926 but much cheaper than paying 100% for damage. Our director text group is lively since one was attacked by two large dogs on her own front porch this afternoon. Loose dogs (fences down) are a huge problem here with multiple neighbors injured and their pets injured or killed. City does squat and folks are really pissy right now.

Baby, it's HOT outside!

Expensive lesson of the day. - do not leave prescription sunglasses in the car during a heat wave. I now know what crazed lenses are. $525 poorer. And that was just replacing the lenses.
