The Tullis house took a price cut. It's only $5K, but it's something. I'll see if it's still on the market next week and maybe offer something.

All the paperwork is confusing bean. In regards to pharmacy though, depending on the plan your mom has selected she may have deductible/copays. And the long term care pharmacy the facility contracts with could be out of network with her Part D plan which would trigger additional charges most likely.
None of it is easy.

I had a '66 T-Bird. I loved that car! I couldn't bring it with me on the plane, so my husband agreed to drive it to Canada. Instead, he sold it and kept the money. Is he still living? That’s grounds for justified homicide. ETA I had a 68 Camaro. Loved that car! The color was Copenhagen blue. Bought it in 68. Thought I was hot stuff. Married with a two year old. No, he's dead. Died within the last year. I was SO MAD! Hard to take someone to court if you live live in a different country. Nice Camaro. Why do you no longer have it?

I just moved my laptop outside, it's finally cooled off enough. I'm beyond over this humidity, but at least when it cools off a little it's more bearable.

DB, DS and I told mom yesterday that we are moving her to Assisted Living/memory care. She wants to stay in her house, but seemed to accept it at the end. IDK. I have to fill out the admittance forms/Pharmacy forms etc. I am overwhelmed. There is a pharmacy services agreement, and it Says "XYZ Pharmacy Service will accept the payment from your insurance company for medications and look to you for any unpaid balance not paid by your insurance company or contracted for packaging and delivery" It just seems as though they should accept what Medicare pays. I also cannot see my kids handling this stuff at all. I think I need to tape some pills and instructions to the bathroom mirror. Who was it that always said they were going to do that? I have to run over to moms and call her Medicare PPO provider, they want her current Medicare card and I have no idea what ever happened to it. Bean, I"m so sorry you have to walk this path - I know it's very hard

Here's a chuckle for today.
When DS was failing HS, we shelled out the money for a fancy-pants tutor. Well, it came out of his taxable, so he paid for it.
We just got an email solicitation from the very fancy pants business.
They offered to coach DS to get into Med School. By someone who worked at MIT for a long time.
I had some fun writing the response.

Yanno, after this past week, I'm not as fond of humanity as I used to be. I have never seen so damn much pissing and moaning, woe-is-me whining, and flat out stupid as I've seen here since the lights went out. For God's sake people, your ancestors would be ashamed of you! They keep having to remove power restoration crews from local areas because a-holes are making bomb threats, shooting at them, and physically assaulting them. We humans often refer to "dumb animals" but animals are smart enough not to shoot themselves in the foot which is more than I can say for some folks in Houston

If they lowered the price quickly, likely they realize they asked too much.
They decided to start the Washington place at $155k and we can lower also if we need. But in that area one is listed at $174k and the other at $145k, so good compromise and NOTHING in the retirement communities there are for sale. There are units in Lacey but the realtor said the lot rents are $1200 and people aren't buying those. I want to sell it quick as the investor that bought it is jacking up the rent annually. We will come down to what we need to sell it. But with AC, large yard, new exterior paint, and rents low in comparison, I think it will sell quickly. Of course there its all cash because of the age of the units. But still its on Black Lake so a nice draw.
I have gone through all the boxes in the office area. Took out a bankers box of patterns and a big stack of fabric. I'm going through 2 more big boxes of fabric and par down. We are going to sweep out our garage and put a lot of the boxes out there so I can clean the floors and windows, so a lot to do yet.
Hubs is giving the guys everything that is left out there, they can sell it too. The only condition they take it all and sweep out the garages. Hubs is out there working too and the heat is brutal. It's 93 and its like walking outside into an oven. I'm sure not out three today. It wouldn't be worth it to me to have all that stuff to work in this heat.
We are having them come back one more time, get the 2 exercycles out of the basement and the treadmill but we will pay them for that work
I just can't believe how hot it is out there, wow!

I know on hubs mom, we could not use the pharmacy at the nursing home and it was the same company!!!!!! They would not pay for it at all. So he had to go over there weekly and get it from the pharmacy just down the street that would not deliver. Could not because of Indiana law, have no idea why.
We ended up paying a few out of pocket till we got it the way her insurance wanted. It was very difficult to deal with all this believe me. I think I still bare the scars.

And the long term care pharmacy the facility contracts with could be out of network with her Part D plan which would trigger additional charges most likely. None of it is easy. Thanks, when I went to moms, I had two goals, get a print out of her Medicare Card and find out if the PBM was in network. I forgot about the second issue b/c the first took so long. I My "lunch" ended up being about 1:45 minutes. I was dying in Mom's house too b/c it was so warm. She even complained, but I was using my phone and computer and did not want to go in the living room and adjust the thermostat. I logged back into her acct, UHC said they were in network, via a chat, which I printed. I was unable to review the actual Pharmacy page. It said they were having network issues. I have to get UHC the medical POA, but they want it mailed or faxed. I will check when I get home if my printer can do a fax. We no longer have a fax at work, and even my DH who is an insurance agent no longer uses a fax machine. It is at the point where you don't open anything you are not expecting as far as attachments go, so maybe we all should move back to using faxes idk. CG glad things are moving along for you. I hope your husband does not overdo it. Giramomma, at least he is on a path to self-sufficiency. I have a niece that tried doing gen eds at Waukesha Cty Technical College last year and she apparently failed Math and English gen ed requirements. She has withdrawn from School, did a stint working in a day care and now is working at a pet store. Idk what kind of job she will get, but both her brothers teach in local High Schools. Her oldest brother networks with placing HS students in local businesses for internships etc. I am sure he is beside himself.

The Pharmacy used by the nursing home where dad was was not in his network. It was only 3 weeks, so it wasn't that bad. But still, he had a pharmacy and one of us would have gotten the prescriptions for him and given them to the nursing home to use but it didn't work like that.

Actually I'm pretty sure where I put the bonds, could be wrong. I know the one guy is very honest, he has found money in some things and brought it back to us. The other hubs thinks has sticky fingers. I saw him one day carry out to the car one of the computer bags, a small one and wondered what he had. Same week I missed the bonds. Hubs said check if they have been cashed by someone, he is in big big trouble. But his friend is very honest. He thought the guy had taken something one week and came and told hubs, he said he was awake all night worrying about it. But he was working so hard hubs said let it go and just keep an eye on him which we did. But that was after the fact.
Do I check them on Treasury Direct or where?

DH and I discussed relocating the metal storm shutters to be closer to the windows and doors where they will be used and are working to accomplish that. He went to Lowe's and got some new fasteners so we can secure them to the fence in that area. While not aesthetically pleasing, it sure beats carrying those things across the yard to stage them in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss - maybe filing a report with your local law enforcement is a good way to start Hope you can recover the money at some point. Going forward, that will be the good thing about digital savings bonds (and swapping your Walmart stock to digital too) - it will be so much harder to swipe than a bank bag. The guy doesn't sound like the sharpest tool in the shed - he probably thought it was cash in the bank bag ETA to add: Check your homeowner's insurance for mysterious disappearance/theft coverage. I think they will need a police report for sure/

My son decided to work on the hood of his beater. Did the whole Bond O thing. His car was black so this rust red hood was really noticeable. He wondered sometimes how I knew where he was. I never told him his car was hard to miss. I just let him think I had magical mother powers.

bean29, I have used efax.com with no problem for faxing from my laptop. And it cost nothing- free trial, which you can then cancel.

Not with the way the real estate market is right now. Houses sell as soon as they hit the internet. I made an offer on the Barber house the day after it hit the market. I bid $25K over asking and still got outbid. If it's been on the market for a week with nothing in this market, you need to make it more attractive. I looked at a different house early on and passed. It was at $285K. It's still sitting there 2 months later and has since dropped to $230K.

We just found some 78 vinyl records that was hubs dads uncle, he was Big Tiny Hill and his orchestra. They are on the computer, pretty good music. Around the 40's, but have little value. They were from his folks. We will keep them.

Wilbur tried to nonchalantly walk across the living room with a box of Swiss rolls and take them into his lair under the couch.
DH caught him and we took it away.
He was very confused as to how his plan to act normal failed.🤣
