giramomma , you are just radiating excitement about this new job. I'm so glad to see it. I agree with everyone who says to take the job despite the salary decrease. Money can't buy happiness, as they say. weltz , I might have missed it. Do you have a doctor's appointment to follow up on your lung issue?countrygirl2 , I might have missed this as well: when is closing, and moving day? Will you put your place on the market when it's empty? I'm so excited for you as well. I know you won't have room for your stockpile at the new place, but you will also be closer to shopping and can drive more easily to get what you need. So no need to have a big stockpile. It's amazing how much less stuff we can be happy with. I have a referral to the McGill University's Health Center's oncology department. I faxed it to them, so now I wait.

I did some work again. I went through upper kitchen cabinets. I filled 4 trash bags to be dumped. 2 boxes of spices and items for cooking to be shipped. 3 boxes of food and items to go to sale or blessing box, some from my pantry. I'm making sure the top shelves are cleaned out. I'm putting the items I'm going to use for cooking the next few days in one spot. I'm cleaning inside as I am going so I don't have to go back and do that. A lot more stuff is going to go, that's for sure. Hubs said I have plenty of time,no I don't We have 2 more docs appointments and a hair appointment that will eat up time. And a sale will eat a day or two plus prep time. It will speed b I do not believe you can ship these. Before the movers came, I had a coworker come into my apartment and take everything he wanted out of the freezer, all my spices and whatever canned goods he wanted. I also had him take all cleaning supplies and laundry detergent, movers won’t ship these either. He left the dregs of laundry soap so we could wash clothes and dishwashing soap. I had a cleaning service come in and clean after so didn’t need the supplies. Candles can’t be shipped either. eh? I buy both candles and spices online, and they are all shipped just fine.

For me, the waiting was always the worst part. I also hope that the waiting is a good sign, rather than a signal of a slow medical outfit. Once they figured Dad was stage 4, folks getting dad to treatment in great haste.

We are supposed to have an utterly spectacular week. It’s about time! Weather since we got back has been mostly rainy.
TD went to put the ribs on the smoker and he thinks it’s kaput.
As soon as I finish m6 coffee, I’ll head out to the kitchen and start putting together eggs Bennie. It seems like that sorta day.

Not that many people would try to ship/move plants across country but professional movers won't ship plants to states that have restrictions. I ran into this when moving mother across state line less than 300 miles. I just threw what I could in my car and told her I would replace stuff when she got settled into her new place. I don't think it had anything to do with restricted plants but more of them croaking. But wasn't like I had thought of back in the 80's. Now peeps just can go online and find this stuff out

This is a no. I'm trying to find a house to get old on and it appears that you have to go up stairs to get to the main living area. Plus I don't want to live that far east. I'd like the address to at least be in the 40s. That's about as far east as I want to go.

I'm torn on this one. Yes, it has stairs, but there is a BR and a BA downstairs. It's very pretty, but I'm pretty torn. I'm not sure what to make of the shower cave.

I've been taking the twins out all day hoping they can get everything out before the fireworks really start going and they refuse to go outside. Macy has already pooped in the house once today.

I'm trying to rule out as many as possible on my own and only ask to see a few inside. The realtor's mom has stage 4 cancer and is nearing the end. She has offered to still show me houses, but I feel bad. Maybe throwing herself into work is how she deals, but I still feel bad running her all over the city unnecessarily.

We are finally at it again. I went back to bed this morning and hubs dozed in his recliner.
Now he has all the trash out I emptied from the cabinets and has the old truck ready to put the sale sign on. He had some work to do on the headlights and got that done.
I need to blow the inside of the garage out and start putting items for sale out again. I finally found strapping tape, its way stronger and repacked 2 smaller bags of fabric into one big box. I'm going to do one more like that.
Want hubs to get the drapes out of the basement and I'm packing those, I'm sure they will fit in the new place.
We are giving the one beautiful hutch to the kids, will go nicely with the couch and chair. I have no where to put it and thought the other folks likely paid $3 to $5k for it you just can't sell them for much. They have a corner it will just fit in. I had all my extra electric cooking things in it. But This kitchen has a nice floor to ceiling pantry so hoping I don't need it. Have nowhere to put it anyway. And it gives them some really nice furniture too.
I'm going to blow dirt out of the garage and start putting items for sale out there again. I have 3 boxes already. But I sit down and kick back every once in awhile so I don't wear out to quickly.
We are slowly moving along.

We are going to give all the frozen food away before we go. I'm dumping everything in the fridge. There's only a few bottles of spices and peppers I'm taking. The candles are not going, they would melt, into yard sale. They told me they will even ship our mowers and stuff, so I don't know.
Hubs can take some of the canned foods. I'm likely dumping all my home canned goods except beets and relish and they will go with hubs.
I'm already tired but going to neaten and finish various things I've started today.
Just got a letter from the old park where that home is. They are raising the lot rent first of October $85 to $730. I told hubs we may have to sell it for less than we want to get rid of it, but no problem we will. They are going to keep going until its well over $1000 I'm sure. Investors bought it. Going on the market the minute we close on the new one. We won't face raises like that and honestly will be cheaper to live in the newer one than the old, especially when we get the new heat pump in.

I think you'd be unhappy with that kitchen. I don't cook much and it's not enough counter space for me.

The shower is weird but maybe could be good with additional lighting. Overall, I love the place BUT do you want to have that big a lot to maintain? That's a lot of mowing-would your budget allow you to pay someone or buy a riding mower?

One of the big draws on the property we are buying is the size of the kitchen, I love it. It's got enough cabinets and a big pantry cabinet in the kitchen and one beside it in the laundry room. I can put a lot of my appliances and pans in those. I never liked this tiny kitchen in here.
It's sounding like son is going to get sent somewhere. Nothing definite yet but maybe Australia, that is in his area too. Guess he will find out in the coming weeks. He has warned me I might have to get an Uber to get home on the 25th. I told him no problem I can do that. But sometimes they happen and sometimes not. Been a few years since he has had to travel overseas.
Sounds like DIL, little guy and her family have arrived safely in Istanbul, quite a trip for him. I told him enjoy, would love a trip like that.

I had the Central American breakfast with Salvadoran cheese, crema, and plantains and swiped DH's grilled jalapeno. We both had Cafe de Olla which rocked! Then we spent forever in Target and found everything we needed and then the stuff we didn't, like a gorgeous smoke gray glass vase for only $20. I reconciled the bank statement and DH is running a load of laundry. Guys next door have great music on.

My boss drove from TX to KT with the back of his SUV loaded down with his wife’s orchids. They flew the 7 cats (I got to pick them up from the airport) but drove her plants. The other thing I found out is that certain airlines will not allow you to fly with spices in your carry on (Air India). We visited a spice market in Delhi, and many of us indulged. If I didn’t have time to go back and check my carry on, I’d have lost all the spices I bought. Many did lose theirs.

His BIL wired and plumbed it for a dishwasher. When my parents sold there house, it didn't have a dishwasher. That is a must have for me.

I packed my spices in a box for the movers to move. No one asked what was in any of the boxes. No one said not to pack spices. What they don't know won't hurt them. I wonder if they're trying to prevent a claim for spoiled or damaged (from the heat) spices. Spices are expensive! I'd pack whatever is not past the expiration date.
My stuff was packed the end of August. I closed on my house mid September, and the movers were supposed to move everything within 21 days of my notification where they had to bring my stuff to. I didn't want to give them an address until I was sure the house would close, and then 21 days past that, plus hiccups along the route. So my spices were packed in a hot truck or storage unit for a good 35-40 days.
Replacing the spices I'd tossed was painful.

I love it! No pics of the garage or basement has me wondering what they look like. The lot is huge but it seems a fair amount of it is driveway and house. Still, a riding mower is a necessity.

ah, today's pretty much a wasted day. I hate this weekend. I got the bathrooms cleaned and a bunch of fruit chopped. laundry is still overflowing, and I don't really GAF. but I also watched a bunch of tennis and picked up on catching up on Law & Order OC season 4. we're sitting outside now, since it finally cooled off enough to do so. someone's already booming something, I wish I was kidding. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/angry2.png) so we will be downstairs again soon enough. I was thinking about this last night. this was never a huge holiday for me as a kid, because I hated fireworks and my dad wasn't throwing any parties about US Independence Day. so it just wasn't a thing. do I appreciate the PTO from work? sure! but this may as well be Easter or Valentine's Hallmark Day for me in having any significance.

When we fly will be DD, and I, our scrips for both of us and my kitty. Don't even need clothes hubs will bring those as they are winter clothes if we can't get them on the truck. I want to complete the upstairs first before I go to the basement.
I need to get all this ready in a week and a half, hope I make it or lots will be going to Goodwill.
I'm also watching a movie while I'm working. Actually its a season of a show called Tracker. It's about aliens, I like some of them and this one is a good one.
Not sure what we will eat tonight, I don't know if anything will be open this evening.

Selling in "as is" condition is a red flag to me. Plus the lower level isn't a true basement, with too many windows for an area with tornadoes.
