It's not good. I told DH to bring the kids. OMFG. I can't do this. It's going to kill my dad. They were going to hit 40 years in two weeks. I thought she had covid. I should have driven her here myself on Wednesday. I don't know what to do about Gwen's birthday I feel like an ass canceling it. I feel like an ass not canceling it. I'm losing my fucking mind Cancel Gwen's birthday. Some of her complaints, if she does, will be sadness at gramma being in the hospital. Have your DH cancel it. She'll understand in a few months.

Why? Because it sounds like you need to shed stuff off your schedule right now and work on keeping yourself together to help your mom.

IDK if I want to. Gwen's birthday is something I look forward to every year.
I'm not sure I want to sit home and fret. I'm so exhausted I can barely stand today. Tomorrow is day 2. Is running the gauntlet three days in a row a good idea?
And I know my mom would be pissed if I canceled.
But I feel social pressure to cancel. My dad said we might as well it'd be good for Gwen. DH says he'll support me either way.
It really depends on tonight and tomorrow. That's how I've decided to proceed for now.

I said no more big dogs after Sabah died. A month later I got the horse sized lab known as Charlotte. I can't see not having a black lab in my life anymore. Was sorely tempted to adopt a red heeler at the shelter that was the spitting image of Sabah but I'm sticking with no shepards or healers right now. Maybe when the kids are grown and I have more time for enrichment. I'd love a pug but they be expensive. I'd name him Wilbur. Get it? Astros is a red heeler and he's very sweet but he is also an asshole at the drop of a hat. I wouldn't get another one but that's me. Plus I like enormous dogs.

I'm fairly actively looking for a dog. Now that those pair of shepherds got adopted yesterday I can go back to the shelter. LOL They were really too much for us, but I didn't trust myself to be rational. They have puppies now, but don't know if I want to do that either. I'm not ever getting a puppy again. It's so much work! All dogs are but puppies are nuts!

I got my house listed for sale. Here are the realtor pics. link.shutterfly.com/te8vNRs2Qrb The realtors are super picky about having anything unnecessary hanging around. I had to pack up a lot of my stuff and move it to storage or in boxes in the garage. And the bare minimum of what I need to use on a daily basis that is not decor -- like dog gates, and upholstery covers to keep my dog from staining the fabric with dirty paws or regurgitated dog food -- is gathered up pretty quickly now that I've got a system. Then I grab the dog, and we disappear during the showings. I get a 2-hour notice but could work it out if it were less. You know how the house listens to you say you are putting it on the market and decides it's time to start causing stuff to break down? My Ring doorbell stopped working. I got another one that will be here in 3 to 5 days. It would have been handy to see when realtors and potential buyers are done and the coast is clear to return. So I can't wait to get the replacement installed. So far, it's $100 out of pocket for repairs/replacement. The major appliances, furnace, and AC are still working fine. Knock on wood. Thank you chiver78, for the guidance on how to post the pictures. TheOtherMe, you will see the tile shower I replaced from acrylic to tile, with glass doors.

I went to see my BFF in the hospital today. OMG, she's such a mess! So very, very confused. Thankfully, she's in the Traumatic Brain Injury unit at a state of the art teaching hospital.
I saw pictures of the accident. The car is demolished. It's a miracle she survived at all.

The funeral went well today, well as funerals can. Good brief sermon, and hubs approved. Good thing we had it in the morning, the temp was bearable.
There were approximately 40 people there. DD and little guy came up and sat down for just a bit and decided they wanted to go back to the car. It was so cute, little guy was helping her back.
Some of our relatives and us went out for lunch. DD and little guy had a good time with his cousins granddaughter. She is a junior or senior in high school, smart girl taking college courses. But they had a good time with her.
Then I had some errands to run so got home in the early afternoon. I was so tired fell asleep for awhile, then had to fix dinner and of course the never ending laundry.
We all got bathed in time to watch the hearing about Jan 6 so just got done with that. I'm getting ready to head downstairs. Have to vac up some cat litter. For some reason this morning the cats decided to go wild. First day they have wanted out for awhile. But they ran on the bed, across the headboard, and even tilted the litter box over?? So, I have to add a bit to it and vac it up.
Have to get up at 8 in the morning, DD and I go to the endocrinologist for our check up at 10.
Hubs is taking care of little guy for me. Son said I didn't even have time to get a ticket and get down there. Well, it's ok, he saw her last time he was down. He was just making sure we wanted him to come. DIL isn't there anyway, so it's ok.
So been a busy sort of day, and I'm so glad it's over as is hubs.
By the way look at this house I found, we are seeing house prices come down in Washington state a ways west from where son lives. But it's not that far. I just happened to see this one, isn't this gorgeous 210 W Brant Lane, Hoquiam, Wa 98550. Hubs finally said make a list of some and he will look at them. But I think prices are going to fall more so we shall see.
Later all, thank you for all the condolences. I think hubs said he finally ended up with 215 or so. Sure never expected that.

Serious, what a beautiful home, looks like a new home ad. It is pretty. I LOVE all the greenery. But it's awfully close quarters with the neighbors. It would take a lot of getting used to.

I'm up. Dad called and went back up to the hospital because they said it's not good.
Which they said before then other damn doctor said she's critical but stable. Then back again.
I'm hazy because I took sleeping pills but they aren't enough to knock me back out. I'm in no condition to drive.
Not going to make everyone else get up.
Found out my brother is still up too so we've been texting. He read somewhere 3 am is your body's most vulnerable time so he's trying to make it till then.
I might as well stay up till my goal of sunrise.
Not that it probably matters at the end but I feel like okay that's a day. Then see if we can go two.

I really want a young adult female beagle or beagle mix. We have many cats and one dog. My dog really needs a playmate! I'm keeping an eye out and know the right dog will cross our paths. Beagles are fun, but as with all breeds there are some downsides. They tend to howl at night and can overeat. We had 2 several years ago, and one had a serious eating disorder, would eat anything and everything. One time he ate through a can of Pepsi to get what was inside. We once had a beagle who ate a large part of my parents' bedroom door because she thought my dad was in there and wanted to get to him. ATE it, as there were no bits of the door found.

Oh, I know- when ours was on the market we noticed a little bit of water around a backed-up drain in the basement. Called the plumber. Snaking it out didn't work. I knew it was gonna be bad when they headed downstairs with a jackhammer. $5,000 later it was cleared. I hope your house sells quickly. It was so stressful having it on the market- we had a lot of people come through, which was good news, but then you've got to leave every time.

DH had a blue heeler when we married. She was a lovable thing, but EXTREMELY protective. The first time I went to his house I had followed him in my own car. He came running across the driveway like a crazy person to warn me to let him get the dog before I got out. He was too late, as I had already opened the door - she jumped up on my lap and laid her head on my shoulder. Every other person in the world she would bite at their feet or chase down. DH always says he knew then that he wanted to marry me. DSis says that the dog recognized the "Alpha B*itch".
