what is this "unused PTO" you speak of? I don't know what that is. One thing I'll always do is use up ALLLLL my PTO that year! IDC if I'm sitting around the house doing nothing, I'm taking it! LOL I just don't have time most of the time. I'm the only transportation AM in our office. The other ones don't know anything about trucking. Can a non trucking AM and producer limp through it while I'm gone? Yes. But how many mistakes am I gonna have to clean up when I come back? Plus, just one day off usually produces at least 100 unread emails to wade through when I get back. It's almost not worth it. Which is why i hated taking vacation when i had my own office. I would work twice as hard two weeks before vacation, 2 weeks after vacation, and often field emails and texts while i was on vacation.

Well, we still need final numbers and the reference check yet. So I'm not out of the woods.

This morning was weird. I slept so long that DH had to boot me out of bed so he could get ready for work. For the record, I sit down to work anywhere between 3 & 4 am. DH gets up at 4:30 in order to get ready and be at work for 6 am. So I had a 4:30 wake up when I was dead asleep instead of waking up naturally. Now I have a raging headache.
Gira, I hope all pans out exactly the way you want/need it!
Work-wise, I am so grateful for at least two things: I work from home so no office politics and other associated garbage, and my management values my work. I am often reading the work issues of others here, completely dumfounded.
In other news, Carolina wrens are indeed nesting in one of my fuchsia baskets. It took me a bit to find the nest, but there are 4 tiny eggs in it. The downside is the one she picked is right by the front door, so we are trying to limit how much we go out on the front porch. I do have to go out there to water my plants and to change the hummer feeder. We just want to limit distress to her. Oh, and she really knows how to make a vocal racket!

I dreamed I was still working and woke up in a panic because I didn't know what to wear. Then reality hit me and I remembered that I don't work anymore. Then real reality hit me and I remembered that something is growing inside me and it's not a baby.
Congrats Gira, and good luck!

That frees me up to be able to take care of appointments and errands on Fridays.

I've moved back outside (it got a lot hot and stifling under direct sun a couple hours ago, and I wanted Punk indoors in the A/C) with a crossword puzzle book, Wimbledon streaming on my phone, and there's a nice crisp glass of rose on the table as well. I've got my Outlook pulled up so I can see if something comes in HOT, but I'm otherwise checked out for the weekend.
oh, and I got the OK from my mom (95% sure) that she's good to come hang out with the pups over Labor Day weekend, so I'm very likely heading to Tampa for my birthday this year. the flight times I like are looking to run me less than 30k miles for the round trip, that's nutty. I very much miss my friends, and I haven't seen Mr or their kid in about 6y. Mrs was my cabinmate on a boat somewhere along the way. I forget which one, but it's been less than 6y.

I'm so torn on this house. I really like it, but there is something I don't like too. I love the sunroom and the bedrooms are a decent size. However, to get to the finished basement you have to go through the garage. Also in the room with the computer is a dip in the floor. The water heater is a few feet from it. I'm betting they carpeted over a drain. I think I'm gonna pass. That sucks because I really liked it otherwise.

Stopped and bought a big roll of bubble wrap to put over the glass doors on the 2 cabinets. I got popcorn packing. Get this it says you can run water on them and dispose of down the drain, I won't but interesting.
I helped hubs with holding a long bolt so he could get under the truck and thread it through, the old thing sounds good. We are cleaning the inside to put it up for sale.
Hubs is not complaining as I am pitching, donating, selling, and giving stuff away. People are hitting us up about when is the next yard sale.
I need to take a nap and then get busy. Hubs said I have done great so far in discarding.

So we had a pretty good quarter with new revenue. I'm getting a $4,300 bonus! I really need it too since I'm going to have to pull $$$ out of my ass to buy this house when I find it.

Plops down with Chiver with a bottle of chardonnay and a few vented wine glass covers to keep unwelcome critters out of the wine. (it never fails when I am on the porch that bees and wasps want to come over and sample the wine.)

Plus, just one day off usually produces at least 100 unread emails to wade through when I get back. It's almost not worth it. Even though I mostly hate my job, one of the perks is making decent money while not having any responsibility besides doing my job when I am there. Early in my career, I use to worry about things getting done if I’m not there to do my job, but years of being told how expendable I am and having that beat into my head, made me realize that it was true. Years ago, after a coworker with over 30 years of service DIED on the clock, in a stall in a restroom where he’d gone to try to get himself together because he wasn’t feeling well a manager said, in reference to his death, that the job is going to go on, even if we die. That was SO fucked up to me and made me SO mad, because how could you even say something like that, even if that’s how you think?! But it was indeed said, and I will never forget that that is how us peons are viewed. So if I take some scheduled time off or am too sick to go to work (or my children were really sick when they were minors), it stopped being a concern years ago, about how me taking off work when I schedule it or really need to even if it’s not scheduled ahead of time, affects my workplace. Even if I die, they won’t skip a beat, so why would I not choose to keep myself ALIVE and HEALTHY, over my damn job? But there is also the thing where I am so expendable that I can be off work for legitimate reasons and whenever I do go back, whether it’s after days, weeks, or even months, there are not mountains of work piled up, waiting for me to deal with. So me being so easily replaced because I am so unimportant and have so little value, works both ways as far as I am concerned, and makes my decisions to take care of me first when I need to choose, not even really be a question, or a decision to wrestle with. RIGHT?! Like, please keep me unimportant!!! I do NOT want to be the sole expert in anything!!!!

a fly just landed in my coffee. I hope that's not indicative of how the rest of the day is going to be. it's far too early to pour some wine. lol... one landed on my head at the office today. It met an untimely demise a few minutes later.

apparently my file for the t-shirt I'm trying to get a sample print of is not hi-res enough. DH is going to help me fix it tonight so I can re-upload. I need to reach out to Potential Client and provide him with an update on the situation. I don't know what will come of this, but I don't want to mess this up. It could be good, and Lord knows I've been looking for a way off this hamster wheel for years.

In my state as long as you are 16 years or older you can get any of that stuff on your own. You just need some kind of ID to prove you're who you say you are to get the birth certificate which might be a problem if she doesn't have a driver's license. I had hope for a moment as I just figured it was 18. Google confirmed health.mo.gov/data/vitalrecords/obtain-vital-record.php#collapseNine. RATS! I did recently learn that 17 is age of majority for healthcare in Missouri so we have until Nov to put that hurdle behind us. Really completely frustrating that if the mom would even just give me kinship guardianship I could move bonus teen into my fantastic healthcare with no extra premium and teen wouldn't be stuck with Medicaid places. I legit wouldn't take my cat to the dental place that we've been to 4 times now. This last time teen left in tears after they tried to pull her tooth with 10+ numbing shots that didn't take. Medicaid doesn't cover laughing gas until that type of appt fails. Meanwhile there were 2 other ladies legit screaming in dental chairs in the same room while their own dental work was being done. It was surreal and inhumane. We are currently referred to oral surgeon and I managed to have teen sweet talk prior dental office into giving us her medicaid info. Most of it I can't figure out though including what type of MO medicaid plan she has. When I call oral surgeon and give medicaid participant number they say they need plan type too which is mind boggling. Teen's dad's girlfriend is coming over to help with her hair this afternoon. I'm going to gauge if she's as much of an ally as teen seems to think. If there's any glimmer there, I'm going to pull her aside and ask how much dad knows about current situation. Unfortunately, dad is in prison but he still has parental rights. Would be a major coup if he'd just sign papers to give me guardianship. Teen has said multiple times that he's been the most stable adult in her life which is CRAZY but likely true. This has been like living in a messed up movie. can dad's gf convince dad to request a BC? "Immediate family members are qualified to receive copies of birth certificates. Immediate family members shall include those family members and in-laws in the direct line of descent up to, but not including, cousins. This qualification of entitlement also applies to Statements of Marriage, Divorce, and Single Status." I don't think you need custody for that. I also don't think the SS card falls under MO vital records department.
