Waiting for mover to call back. I've looked at several but many the trucks are too big or they don't load and unload. I will pack no issue there. But hubs said he just can't lift like that anymore. So he was just wanting so many cubic feet, that meant LTL, no, might make multiple stops and we have more than that, the price for the whole 26 ft box truck was 2500 more. I asked and we can ship the generator, mower or mowers too if we have room or tools. They have a Tommy lift on the truck and 2 guys. It's outsourced like everything anymore, but they have insurance. So the whole truck is $8k, I think that is reasonable and we can pack it full. They go buy cubic feet, not weight, or so they say. The quote to move my 465 sq ft apt a few miles was $3,000, I think. $8,000 sounds like a good amount to me.

Actually went into the office today for our now annual drag bingo Pride Day at work. I love that for us.
Tonight husband and I are going to a taping of NPR news quiz show, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. It's at my favorite outdoor venue (thankfully the weather is cooperating) and it's a picnic show, so we'll bring hoagies and booze with us.

I messaged my medical provider and said I was quitting provastatin because of body aches and I am NO for a colonoscopy. Arthritis is enough to deal with.
I couldn't get the sheets on my bed correctly. I didn't have a temper tantrum but just stopped. I need sheets with a pattern so I know which way is which. I expect my mood to get better shortly.
I keep tags on all of the sheets, blankets, and quilts. They are all placed so the tag is on the foot end of my side of the bed. Everything is correct in this orientation. Standing at the foot of the bed, my side is the right hand side. It is such an easy way to be sure all of the bed linens are on correctly. That is what my H. said. LOL.

ugh, LD just killed a bird. unintentionally, I'd bet my own life, but still. I just opened the side door and there was this cute little bluish gray bird hanging on the mesh screen, trying to get out. well, I tried to open the screen using the bug racket (NOT powered) and it flew toward me, landing on the floor over near the stove. LD came running in after hearing me kind of yelping as it flew by my head, and tried to pick it up to play. well, the poor thing had a major puncture wound in his gut when LD put him down. at least he didn't suffer long, but dang. I was hoping to help him out to safety.

Oh, welts. I am so sorry to hear the update. Please keep us informed. I will. I had to go to the pos office to send a fax to the veRDun general to release my records. Cat is fed, plants are watered and I don't have to worry. I don't feel well and calling a cab now to go back to the ER

Pink Cashmere Please tell me that Mister asking about interior construction does NOT mean is thinking about remodeling so his aunt can live with you. I hope he is asking about remodeling her or his parent's house to make it more user friendly for a disabled person and a caretaker, or something like that.

I paid $6000 to have my 2 BR apartment moved from KY to WA. They packed my crap. and loaded the truck. They unloaded in WA. I was the last on the truck, so the first off so we had to drive to beat the moving truck. I think there were 3 households in my truck, and the next drop off was in Portland.

Pink Cashmere In regards to staining the deck too soon, I can say that the stain will pool on top of the wood, it will eventually form a sticky mess (think pancake syrup) and every time any person or animal walks on the deck, the sticky mess will get on their feet or shoes and go with them. It will stain any hard surface like a driveway, kitchen floor, carpet, it will kill grass, it will make an unholy mess of your sheets (I'm thinking Boy and Newbie) and make an animal quite sick when they lick it off their paws. And in order to reapply it later, the deck will have to be heavily power washed to get all the residue off before apply the new stuff. He will obviously do what he's chosen to do, but the consequences should land solely on his shoulders.

I spent the better part of the morning signing up for a Medigap plan. Turning 65, I get to drop the one I have, saving a couple hundred $$! After I got that set up, my next call was to Primera to cancel my Medigap plan for disability. I want it canceled as of 7/31 and my payment for July went out a few days ago. Turns out, I have to call in July. However, I was on the phone for 30 min giving info before they told me that I hav3 to call back later.

Good Luck, today drama. I'm also terrified mine is coming up in a few weeks. I made it to 10:30 before I had a total mental breakdown and now I can't stop crying. I made a mistake and I am going to be "talked to" about it. I know what that means. It means I will get a run down of every single real and perceived mistake I have ever made since I walked in the door and that I will never be promoted and that I should be grateful I even have a job at all at this point. Especially on the heels of my stupid mistake with those gluten free pretzels a couple of months ago. Cause I cannot make mistakes I have been told that repeatedly. Me making mistakes drags everyone else in the lab down and my imperfections make everyone dislike me and I single handedly have destroyed customer satisfaction in our lab. I am getting us all in trouble with my poor work habits. I want to go home so bad but it's not going to do any good it will just delay the inevitable. I hope that you made it through your conference ok. Regardless of what they have to say, you are strong and capable. I hope you are able to find a different job soon and get away from their negativity.

Went to see both houses. The one on Central is amazing. I'm putting in an offer. We'll see if there ends up being a bidding war for this one too. There were a few other people looking at it too. That was my favorite of all the ones you've linked so far.

I learned that the 50+ group that we went with today is planning to get a group together for a cruise next year. Since DH won't fly, doesn't like large cruise ships, and generally won't travel, I'm going. I don't care where the damn ship is going but my rear will be on it. They can do donuts in the Gulf of Mexico for all I care. With my luck he'll decide he wants to go too and that's a real buzz kill with him up my &*%@ every minute of the day and complaining about every damn thing from dawn to midnight. I've sometimes wondered how folks manage to fall off cruise ships when the railings are so high - we may find out

It unfortunately wasn't a mouse. By the time I realized what it was, she had manhandled it enough that it was gone.

So, I found a product called carbliss. I think it's a midwestern product thing. Water is carbonated, but no malt. 0 sugar. 0 carbs And there is alcohol. 12 oz. 5%. I'm half way done and I've got a nice little buzz. I am pleased. I had these last week! Pretty good! I have to watch my sugar intake so these were perfect! I also found a zero sugar Cayman Jack product!

I hope he is asking about remodeling her or his parent's house to make it more user friendly for a disabled person and a caretaker, or something like that. Helllll no! He was asking about her house. Between our parents, if one of them had really, really needed to live with us and there was no other choice at all, Mister’s Mom would’ve been the only one I would’ve even tried to consider. She had the most health issues, but she was the only one that wanted to do as much for herself as she could, and wanted to do stuff and enjoy life as much as she could. She was also the only one that I feel like wouldn’t have been chaotic as a member of our household. Y’all know what happened when I let my Mom come live with me “temporarily” and she drove me crazy. So she messed that up herself. And y’all know how chaotic and stressful Mister’s Dad was, so it was a no for him too. His Aunt isn’t even a parent, so that’s not even a consideration for her. He’s doing good already, trying to see about her in the ways that he is. They don’t even have a really close relationship. Plus, everything that has been happening with her, have been direct results of choices she makes. I’m not willing to pay for her choices myself, by turning my whole life and household upside down by letting her move in with us, and neither is Mister.

Just visualizing ship doing donuts in Gulf got my attention. I’ll be on the lookout for that show. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/wink.png) But hope it works out in your favor. If DH floats up in my neck of the woods I hide him in one of the available freezers.

He will obviously do what he's chosen to do, but the consequences should land solely on his shoulders. I keep trying to just let it go, but I decided earlier today that I’m going to try to talk to him one more time about it, because I do believe it’s a terrible idea to not wait. I am sure he just wants to get the stuff back on the deck and be done with moving stuff around, and it’s probably not helping that I am fretting about my tomato plants being out there, and asking him to go with me to tend to them. Honestly, me bugging him about the tomato plants might be the main thing he doesn’t want to deal with lol. But the reason they got planted on the deck in the first place, goes back to him too. So I will try one more time, especially now since I didn’t consider that the stain could possibly affect the dogs if it doesn’t soak in properly. That will actually be a better point than any others I could make. He takes their health very seriously, as do I. Thank you so much for bringing that up.

So, on Tuesday, noticed one of the dogs limping very, very slightly. Yesterday morning, I went to give him a treat and noticed that one of his toenails was sticking in a strange direction. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/sad.png) So, off to the vet - they had to pull the nail and cauterize it because it was split in three pieces down near his toe. They're like "he'll be sleepy from the anesthesia, blah blah" and he comes barreling out of the back room full of energy and ready to go, haha. Then today, my kids had a basketball camp presentation and we picked up lunch. We got home and my 8yo goes to get lunch out of the passenger seat, but accidentally sticks her finger in the wrong place and gets the car door shut on it by my 10yo. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/sad.png) Thankfully she seems fine after some ice and Tylenol (and an hour of screaming asking if she's going to lose her finger - she's very dramatic) - she can bend the finger, etc. Keeping my fingers crossed (pun intended) that no serious damage was done or we will be off to the doctor if it doesn't seem to get better in the next few days. Never a dull moment.

I got a 4 which is below expectations. Nothing that was said surprised me what so ever. I did find out that apparently our new big honcho wanted all departmental managers to give at least one person in their department a bad score this year. That everyone can't be a 3, there must be SOMEONE who is "below average". Ugh. I thought I got away from that, that is how the last company I worked for also operated. You can't have stellar employees you have to find SOMETHING wrong with them SOMETHING to drag their scores down otherwise you aren't a good manager. There are always "defects" to find and have people improve on. Otherwise how will they be motivated to grow and develop themselves if they think they've already achieved a good score. Fuck this place. Even owning up to I was an expected mess dealing with the death of my mother and the mess with my grandmother AND owing my own mistakes I have handled over 10,000 samples this past year through our doors. I am well below even a 10% error rate. I've only made one critical error and it didn't even escalate to the level of a corrective action. How the fuck am I a FOUR? Course if you go by the logic that a three is all you'll ever be able to achieve and that's the highest score you can get technically a four makes me an average employee.

The last few sets of sheets I've purchased have come with "side" and "end" tags. I'm quite appreciative of them. I do think you could use a Sharpie and mark the sheets in an indiscreet place for which is the side and which is the end.

countrygirl2 Does the $8K quote for shipping include insurance of your things in transit? Some companies won't cover contents unless they wrap and pack them.

About 100 years ago, I worked for a large regional bank. The first year I was there, the department I worked in was dozens of employees that processed checks made payable to one major, worldwide corporation. Our whole department was dedicated to just that one customer.
My job was keying the payments. Because I was good at it and didn’t make errors, they had me start keying checks that were mailed without an accompanying payment slip, which meant it was easier to make mistakes.
If we made too many or certain kinds of mistakes keying, the bank had to pay the corporation fines. Potentially 10’s of thousands of fines in one month. I have no idea how much money we processed for that customer in a 24 hour time period, but I will never forget having a real check in my hand for a fraction of a second, that was for over a million dollars.
Well, some months after I started keying the checks with no payment slips, I got to work one day and was told I’d made an error a few days before. It was a matter of fact conversation, no belittling, no threats of discipline or negative action taken against me, just telling me I’d made an error and showing it to me. This was in the 90’s, and my one error cost my department well over $10k.
I was proud of being good at my job, and I liked working somewhere where my work ethic and good work mattered, even though I didn’t make a lot of money. There were 2 managers of other departments that kept trying to get me to come work for them. I did end up transferring to work for one of them, and I would go work for the other one sometimes after my shift ended, to make some extra money. And sometimes on Saturdays, I’d go work for yet another department that was happy to have me come help them out, just to make a little more extra money.
So anyway, I was horrified when I was shown the error I’d made, without them trying to make me feel bad and being assholes about it. Instead, they treated me like a valuable employee, who had made a mistake, like humans do sometimes.
Just a random story that came to mind while I was thinking about how some employers and managers treat their employees, even the good employees that just happen to also be humans.

How the fuck am I a FOUR? Repeat after me. You are not a FOUR. You are not below average. I agree that it would be great if you could get a break from going there. I know that isn't how you want to spend the inheritance from you FIL, but you sanitiy needs some nurturing at the moment.
