I don't know if this is good or bad. The community we are buying into has only had 1 sale in 2015. Apparently these people have lived their forever. Only 51 families and are over 55, so I bet its a tight knit bunch, guess we will see how that goes. It could be very good or very bad, depending I guess. I'm back at looking for movers, we only have one quote so far. I would take it and be done with it, but hubs wants me to do more. Did you come to an agreement on the roof?

MJ2 suggest to look for a timeshare resort. The units have kitchens and usually washer/dryer. Look for one in a nice resort like Marriott You can look at RedWeek or TUG2. Since it’s late might get a good price That’s nasty not letting you know about pool till after no refund. Did you use CC? Maybe dispute charge? If AirBB or VRBO you can contact them. We rented a house once on ABB and it wasn’t acceptable . Money was refunded

Opti, if you are sick you are sick. I would go to a doc for something like that. It's not only miserable but can take forever to clear. They obviously aren't too concerned about their employees if they think you can't take off when you are like that. Sad, I feel for you.
I have got to get busy, so much to do, so little time to do it in.

coming into the day with a bit of an attitude. We booked our Aruba vacation in early May and rented a place on VRBO. It's off the tourist path and has a pool. Well.... don't you know, the owner emailed us yesterday to say the pool will be closed for maintenance and there will be construction during our stay. Conveniently, they waited to let us know this after the date to get a full refund passed. DH is PISSED. And now we're scrambling to find a new place for our vacation that's happening in less than 2 weeks. We might have to suck it up and do a resort. The only reason we steer clear of resorts is that DH has a lot of dietary issues, so we need to do a fair amount of cooking.... and so, a kitchen with a stove is essential for any vacation. Most resorts don't have suites with kitchens, but I guess we'll keep looking. SIGH..... They ought to be a full refund due to the fact that you now do not have access to the expected amenities and the inconvenience of construction. oh, no doubt I'll be requesting a full refund. If they don't do it, I'm going to dispute the charges on my CC.

We did, they ended up pricing it at $290k, in their minds they gave us $10k off, in ours we had already agreed to $295, so to us $5k. But interest was really heating up on it. The realtor said they were getting all kinds of calls, the price for up there of a nice place is excellent, so we took it. Closing is July 16th.
She said this was the first roofer they could get quick and he runs high. Her dad owns the agency and she said he has 2 or 3 more that are very good and he has used himself, so can get it done for less. We are satisfied with it. It's either pay about $305k or wait longer till this house sells and pay $550k. We could get a new one for that, but on an even smaller lot, so I'm satisfied.
I also like the idea of the rent increase limited to the CPI annually and the trash and sewer in the rent, plus paying taxes less school taxes is a big plus. So there are pluses in that community and its gated, locked at night. I think I see why noone rarely moves. It's affordable in a sea of crazy prices. Redfin in its comments valued it at $297, I think it easily could have sold for $350k at least.
So I'm satisfied, I think hubs will be also.
Now to get another couple of moving prices. Don't think we will do better than a 26 ft van with a Tommy lift and 2 guys from here to Washington, load and unload for $8k though.

Pink, with the moisture that comes out of treated lumber I'm not sure paint or stain will even stick. We have let it go for some time to dry out. I guess he can try, but he's pretty much wasting his time I think.

Just ignore or say no to going to any ‘information ‘ presentation. They’ll try to sell you one and give you gifts but no need to go.

Have I missed the links to the dresses? I am curious…okay, just nosy No, I didn't post any links. I will though. I wound up starting with Nordstrom's, only because I knew I'd be returning them and I wanted the process as easy as possible. They really did have the largest selection in my size. First Place: Comfortable, strangely enough. Looked really good, even without any sort of shaper underneath. Loved the color. www.nordstrom.com/s/adrianna-papell-beaded-floral-godet-gown-plus/7678229?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=400Second Place: Comfortable, and looked better on than on the hanger. This was also the least expensive. I really liked it on, the only thing I didn't like was that it was sleeveless, but I did bring back a cashmere pashmina from India that would have worked well with it. I hate my upper arms. www.nordstrom.com/s/gathered-waist-sleeveless-gown-plus/7869372?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=485Third Place: Comfortable, moved well. I liked it, but the navy background almost looked black. www.nordstrom.com/s/kiyonna-embroidered-elegance-floral-gown-plus-size/5404532?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=001Fourth Place: Fit, was comfortable. It was darker than I thought it'd be and I'd need to cut a good 8" off the bottom. Neck was a little tight and wouldn't allow me to wear the jewelry that I wanted to wear. www.nordstrom.com/s/mac-duggal-floral-embellished-gown/6961458?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F22W%2C%203X%2C%2024%7Csize%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=003Fifth Place: Itched like you wouldn't believe. As soon as it was zipped, I needed it off NOW. Would have looked great with my black pearls though. The color was more of a pale pink with a grey lace overlay. This was the most expensive of what I ordered. ttps://www.nordstrom.com/s/floral-embroidered-gown/7659881?utm_source=N_transactional&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ReturnIPrint&utm_channel=email_tran_ret_p&utm_term=755956&utm_content=20240625_proddescr1 Thanks for sharing! I love the draping style on #2, but can’t argue with the final choice either

Regardless of where we stay we always go to Superfoods for snacks and stuff. If you like kayaking or snorkeling, we always do an excursion with Aruba Outdoor Adventures; RJ takes you to places outside of the typical tourist destinations. The Octopus is our favorite catamaran to do a sunset sail. Don't sleep on the Butterfly Farm! ETA: For our next trip I've had my eye on Oceania, Azure, and Blue Residences condos. Worth a look.

Spent the day at the hospital. I was having chest pain and was debating my next course of action, when 911 calls ME to tell me an ambulance is on its way. Six paramedics show up and take me to the Montreal General. EKGs done, bloods done, had a chest X-ray and a CT scan. It's not a heart attack. It's calcification of a cardiac artery. I'm probably going to need another stent. I also have a mass on my lung. Lovely I hope you get better soon. But as a real nosy person I wonder how 911 knew that you were in trouble and needed help? That's easy. She's making it up for attention. She does it all the time.

Work continues to be an unmitigated mess. We got verbal reassurance, with multiple witnesses, at multiple time points, that it was fine to do X. Apparently we needed it in writing instead bc we have now pissed off Side A by doing X, while Side B is pissed off because they moved heaven and earth in order to accommodate Side A which involved doing X. Side A is now begrudgingly accepting that X is happening…but this is all coming about because they killed a perfectly healthy and thriving project presumably for political reasons (while continuing to fund two that are in much, much worse shape) and now they are apparently bent on burning things to the ground and salting the earth. While continuing to expect a good working relationship with Side B. I can’t even. I am all out of even.

My son rolls his eyes and says it's not working!!

I feel like he instinctively just does the opposite of what you say just because. It would drive me batty. Plus I feel like he doesn't take care of his things which would irk the crap out of me. I'm huge on taking care of things so they last longer.

I do remember you and your DH going to Aruba - thanks so much for the recommendations! I do see there are a lot of healthy/lighter food options and places that cater to dietary restrictions, and we do plan on eating out a bit. But DH has Celiac Disease as well as other GI issues that mean he has to eat mostly according to FODMAP (little to no tomatoes/garlic/onion/"hot" spices, little to no dairy, no chocolate, little to no refined sugars). And some ground spices use wheat as part of the "powdering" process so sometimes he reacts to food spiced with non-problematic spices. I'll take a look at the hotels you mentioned too.

I saw that and was like "not I". I was thinking about taking it out and making it a yard game area. Like putting horseshoes or corn hole or something like that there.

I really need one of these other jobs to pan out. In teams, you can chat yourself.I am chatting myself as a coping strategy. Really? I could use that. I got asked by a coworker today if I plan on walking if I get a bad review. He wanted to know if I am going to be a "lifer" who puts up with all the shit or get out. I told him I am not planning on out right quitting but I am looking to leave. I am considering going for the associate chemist position. It would be a title bump which would benefit me with job hunting and of course in the immediate future with a more than 3% pay bump. Why shouldn't I even if I don't intend to be a lifer? I feel like they can't drag my self esteem any lower. DH and my work BFF are extremely concerned about how low I have sunk in regards to how I view myself professionally. Well that's what happens in our toxic work environment. I'm doing pretty good compartmentalizing and not letting it bleed so much into my interactions with DH and the girls but it's always there. I figure if accept that that is how they view me here I am better off. I can't keep expending the mental energy trying to prove them wrong. I still do my job and do it well because that is in my nature but I am not going to keep trying to "prove" myself because it'll never happen. There is just nothing out there. I am trying to do what the career counselor said and repackage myself but nobody knows how to hire it seems. Even when I can confidently explain how X translates into how I'd be able to do Y they aren't interested because it would involve "having to train me". It was a fucking entry level position according to their own description. It's not entry if you aren't willing to train people. ETA: Sorry if I seem to be hijacking. I'm really not intending to I want to show I can relate. I'm also wound tighter than a two cent watch because today is review day. I have the meeting at 3:00pm.

I had to disable notifications on my Firefox. I was starting to get pop ups of new listings in Kansas City happening all the time. Not good for my work computer. I didn't think about that. My computer must think I'm moving. Chloe's Macbook : What has possessed her to look at Kansas City area? Everyone knows there's no way to understand why there's one city in two states.
