I had a very, very bizarre conversation with a neighbor yesterday evening. I was watering plants out front and he came by and said his dog was sick. I'm like "oh, sorry to hear that, how he gets better soon" and the guy said he thought it was because of what I put on my grass. I'm sort of dumbfounded, did I hear him wrong? He said he saw DH spraying our lawn and then he saw his dog eating grass and then the dog got sick. I asked him why his dog was in our yard, and he said the dog had to do its business. Yeah, gotcha, but why is he not doing it in your yard? Long story short, the dog damaged the owner's rear yard fence so the owner just turned him loose out the front door because the owner said it was too hot to go out with him to be sure he stayed in his own yard. One day I did find a fresh blob of diarrhea in the front yard with worms in it, and thought it was a stray dog, but it wasn't apparently. He stood there quite a while and seemed to think I was going to give him $$. No, #1 it wasn't the grass, it's the worms and #2 you let your dog loose to eat whatever, wherever, that's on you, not me.

Fully awake but not dressed. Researching things to do in Vancouver, BC. ooh! I can help with this. I spent a week there for my birthday a couple years back. you can take a sea plane to some of the islands, that was something crazy we did. I have an album of that day up on FB if you want to take a look.

Agreed, that was bizarre of your neighbor, soupandstew. Maybe you should have told him there's a fine for allowing your dog to go loose and then to not clean up afterward. Really, that's disgusting.

Pity party for me time. My nose looks horrible this morning. I can't look at more than to wash my face and comb my hair. It is terrifyingly ugly. So I went to get my chai. The barista was one I have never seen before. She is staring right at my nose. Then she blurts out "I really like your glasses" I am going in to hiding for the rest of my life.

The house on Sloan is a no. One of the bedrooms wasn't even a bedroom and you couldn't fit a bed in it. Only half the house has central air. The other half has windows units. The yard is also way small and is mostly deck. I did ask to look at the 64th one from yesterday. Hopefully that one is better.

We used to have an insane neighbor that had trained his dog to relieve himself in our front yard. We put our foot down, he continued to do it. We started bagging it up and leaving right in front of his door. He stopped finally. One day, he came over to our front yard, waving a gun and screaming. He had taken his dog to a park, off leash, because we wouldn't let him use our yard anymore. The dog ran out in the road, got hit by a car, and was killed. This was our fault, somehow. We called 911, and of course they never came. Reason 6422 that we no longer live in Albuquerque.

Fully awake but not dressed. Researching things to do in Vancouver, BC. Best dim sum ever….Sun Sui Wah. IMO, Richmond location is better. You will likely be the only non Asian in the restaurant. Make reservations, especially on weekends or there is a very long wait. The restaurant doesn’t look like much, but the food s fabulous.

It got sick with some intestinal parasite weeks later and the vet said she might have picked it up at the dog park. Dude tried to get $$ from the county that operates the dog park. Nope, signs all over, "Not responsible for diddly squat-enter at your own risk." Our guy also goes around the neighborhood waving a gun and screaming about various stuff - might be related.

Maybe consider putting a stairway down to the ground underneath that window? Then the railing would end far enough away from the window that you could open it without any worries. Egress window below that would get blocked and they need to clear the window well. Plus, probably limited by that electrical box, I know we couldn't have the deck out more than 8 feet due to codes with it. The plans currently show the steps about 4 feet away from the wall, kind of centered on the patio door. Now I'm curious if there is going to be some kind of pad or landing or if the steps are just going to be on the ground. The stairway doesn't have to go along the house. It can go along the side of the deck. Make it so there's one step down from the window to a landing, then turn so the stairway is at a 90 degree angle to the house. With a big enough landing above the egress window, there'd be plenty of room to use the egress window.

I made lemon blueberry cheesecake bars last night. Brownies have been made. All the cheese is shredded for Mac and cheese.
FIL's gift is all bagged up.
I need to run some errands before we had over to DH's sister's for the father's day gathering.

Right now, I'm surfing. Father's Day dinner is in the works. I need to take the ribeyes out to get them to room temperature, shuck the corn, ready the tiny potatoes and fill and frost the half German chocolate cake I made. DH will like it all, and so will DD and me.

Just a suggestion Ava, but if you hate driving to the airport, could she take a taxi from the airport to you, or even to a nearby place you're familiar with, and you could pick her up from there? I can handle city driving, but they keep messing with the airport here the space for dropping off & picking up people, so I haven't gone there in years, and prefer to avoid the airport completely.

I'm so sorry for how the barista treated you. Remember, you are mid-therapy, so of course things don't look great right now. Healing takes time, so try not to think about it, and if you feel you must say something, just say "I'm having cancer treatments right now", and that should shut people down.

This is really cute! Love the front porch, but the first thing you are going to have to do is put in kitchen cabinets! Why would they not put cabinets in over the stove and counters on the other side? That narrow wall next to the door screams for a long narrow pantry cabinet.

I think I know where it is. I also worry about it being too close to Parallel Pkwy. That's a very busy street and if one of the twins were to get loose, I don't want to be too close to it.

Very cute but small. Love the front porch-my kind of place to sit. Looks in fairly good shape except there's something funky about the ceiling over the toilet in one of bathroom pictures.

I don't like the area. There are a bunch of junky houses the next street over and it's directly behind a school. I like kids less and less as I get older. Oh well. It was just priced so well. Now I know why.
