Back from Salmon Arm.  It was a good family reunion, but sad as 2 of the brothers died this past year.  

It is a beautiful area of the country.  TD and his mom’s side of the family used to own a cabin there, but it got sold about 10 years ago.  We used to go up there for a week every year, and it was a great way to reset our lives.  There is no cell phone reception, nor internet so you truly disconnect.  I thought about asking TD’s uncle if we could borrow his cabin off season, but they are there from the beginning of March until the end of Oct.  At that point, it gets kind of sketchy to get in and out of there due to weather.

I am now nursing a fine crop of mosquito bites.  Those pesky little buggers were everywhere, and they seem to prefer me over TD.

Mich, I am so sorry the Mosquitos got to you.  I always have the same issue.  Even just taking my garbage out, the little beasts get me.  

I was just trying to read an article on the internet - of the click bait variety.  I know better, ended up shutting my Computer down with a Windows Defender Message Popping up.  I just told my Mom on Sunday not to click on those and what do I do?  Idjit.  Grr.  I know better.

I got out early to put the new license sticker on my windshield before the heat hit, and to spray some stubborn weeds in the flagstone patio. We have something called green kylinga which is really hard to kill and spreads like crazy. It was 87 degrees at 9:30 and humid. I just finished scrubbing the kitchen too. Stick a fork in me, I'm done except for stuffed peppers for supper.

I am reading through Magazines and newspapers distributed at work.  Currently Milwaukee Commerce, this month they are featuring how the Milwaukee 7 (7 county area) attracts businesses to the area.  In an interview with Rebecca Gries who is Vice President of Corporate Attraction and Expansion for Milwaukee 7 Partnership for Economic Development she recommends a Podcast called "The Plain English with Derek Thompson.  She says he is an Atlantic writer.  I just searched for his Podcasts on my phone, and he has two about Elon Musk and one about Abortion Pills being a Game changer, so I think this will be my next commute listening.

Disappointed. Found a place on Doordash that I have been wanting to try for a while, but order got cancelled because they could not communicate with the restaurant. I am still hungry, but now nothing anywhere else is looking appealing.

I am sitting on the deck. Yay me! But I’m so jumpy a fly landed on my arm and I spilled my coffee.

I realized late last night that the camera on the deck did not catch any of the movement on the deck yesterday. Not me running, or the neighbors on the deck. Mister is stumped as to why it didn’t. If it had caught any of that, Mister would’ve been able to try to get a good look at the thing himself.

But another camera recorded me when I ran in the driveway to let the garage door up. When I came around the corner, you can hear me saying “OH MY GOD!” and you could actually hear the stress/terror/whatever, in my voice and my body language was like I was frantic. The garage door was too slow coming up, so I bent over to look under it to see if Mister’s car was still here. I said “oh no! He’s not here! OH MY GOD”! Then I yelled “come on Newbie” (when we ran out the gate, she went to play in the grass), she ran across the driveway to me, and we went in the garage.

ETA: it was odd to hear me talking to myself. I tease Mister about how he talks to himself, let me tell it I don’t do that lol.

Last night as I was going to bed I made a mental note of something. For the life of me, I cannot remember. Usually when I do that, I'll sit up and put a note in my phone, but last night I remember thinking, I don't need the note b/c this "thing" was so important and obvious I'd never forget. Jokes on me, I guess, b/c I cannot remember. Sigh.

My mom is turning 70 so she wants a big party. Fine. To say that my mom micromanages EVERYTHING would be the understatement of the century. At first we were just going to do hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. Easy enough. Now she wants me cooking for 50 people. Not flipping burgers, she wants a Mexican food buffet. She wants 3 birthday cakes and 6 different kinds of margaritas. She's been driving my dad nuts!

My sister doesn't know how to cook so it will be me cooking everything. My sister also doesn't have any money so I'll be paying for everything as well. I'm getting catering quotes. Eff this. I'll pay the money. If my parents don't end up divorced by the end of this, it'll be a miracle. I had to talk dad off the ledge earlier.

That is excessive. I get the Mexican feast, but 3 birthday cakes 6 types of margaritas?  I'd be catering that ish too.
