Eating leftover donut holes for breakfast. Holes have no calories, right? Neither do cookie crumbs.

Olive oil has gone up due to poor harvests creating a shortage. that actually makes more sense, thank you. I hadn't heard about that.

(„Shave your shoulders dude“ should not be a thought anyone has on a presentation to argue for the continued funding of a $1M+/year project…) Or EVER! 😵 I try not to judge when you’re, say, out at the beach. I don’t always shave my legs and that’s my choice and I‘d be pissed if someone was rude enough to comment on it. But seriously dude, your projects are asking for $7M+ a year. Put on a damn shirt.

She is leaving Mr. T and moving back to her home city. I’m not sure what Mr. T’s plans are, but he would have a very hard time selling their house unless he found a buyer that is into dogs like he is, because of all the stuff he’s added in the backyard. He trains and breeds German Shepherd dogs that he sells for K9 type work. He added another shed, something I can only see the roof of because of the fence, and another structure that looks like a large shed, but is actually a heated and air conditioned thing for when one of his dogs has puppies. It is attached to a large run/kennel/whatever so that whatever dogs are in there can go outside when they want, but not have free run of the yard. I think (but am not sure) that all of them can’t have free run of the yard at the same time. I do often see a *monster* roaming freely, I can just barely see them through the small gaps between some of the boards of his fence when they are walking close to it. They have a large backyard, but between all of that stuff and their pool, I don’t think there’s much space left back there. I would think that only someone with the same interests would want all of that stuff taking up so much space in the backyard. I missed that part about her moving back home. Is that very far? Are their twins going with her? I hope it is not far because from what you have posted in the past both are good people and parents. She is moving about 3 hours away. Mr. T wouldn’t know what to do with the twins if they stayed with him. Mrs. T is a single Mom that is married. And there have become some issues with how he treats her older 2 children, that aren’t biologically his. That is a big part of why she is leaving. To get her children out of what the environment at home has become.

Someone took the non functioning power washer last night. Wasn’t picked up with garbage and I was going to put on free cycle Went to farmers market yesterday. Great prices, 1.49 for 3 lbs onions or 5 lbs potatoes. 1.50 for blueberries Then went to grocery store ShopRite and was again dismayed by costs. One stood out $6.75 for jar of hellmans mayonnaise. WSJ article about people not buying brand names. Wondering when this is going to affect the stock That's why I wait for BOGO sale. I will not use any mayo except Hellmans. Only have to buy one and get it at half price. Still cheaper than WM. But I also realize a lot of grocery stores don't let you buy just one to get good price. Buy 10 for $1.00 each at one store means you have to buy 10. I don't need 10 of anything We have only one chain that makes you buy all to get good price so rarely shop there unless Pepsi 6 pack sale is best in town. I've seen Diet Pepsi 6 pack for $7.00 in some stores. Remember when I balked at $3.98 LOL I feel for people feeding a family since I know what I spend and it's just me and I don't eat red meat, chicken or pork. I watch olive oil like a hawk for best sale too! OK off my soap box

When my aunt with dementia was in the nursing home, every visit started out with "nobody has come to see me". Mom usually knew when others had stopped by.
They tried a guest book. Some people signed it. It really wasn't for my aunt, but for her son and grandsons to realize who was coming to visit.
She is the one I stopped visiting when she no longer recognized me. She would like at me and start crying because I know I should know you, but I don't. She would get quite agitated. I didn't want to agitate her.
She knew my parents, aunt and uncle who visited her several times a week. She knew the sister that was also in the same nursing home.

We had a big storm in the night. Lots of thunder and lightning. If the tornado sirens went off, I didn't hear them.
Since I can watched the radar on the phone, I can see where bad weather is. I have watched where small tornadoes have hit rural land very close to me. My town has not had a tornado go through since I have lived here.

The mammo tech and my oncology team (surgeon and oncologist) should feel lucky, because these are really the only "special occasions" for which I shave. Love me, love my one hairy armpit.

As it turns out, I'm having quite a different one. It is not bad. It is just not what I planned.

WSJ article about people not buying brand names. Wondering when this is going to affect the stock I am getting pissed about continued price hikes. Quaker instant oatmeal packets were 10/box for 2.89 for years, even through the pandemic. About a year ago, they cut the packets to 8/box and the price jumped to 3.69/box. Just noticed another price hike to 4.29/box. I switched from getting the Quaker instant oatmeal packs to buying their canister of rolled oats, which used to be around $2.99 for three pounds. I just put in my own sweetener and flavoring. Then prices went up again and I switched to generic rolled oats, which also went up; so now I am buying 4 pound bags of rolled oats at a Mennonite grocery for 85 cents per pound. I could get it for 80 cents a pound if I wanted to buy 10 pounds, but that seems a bit excessive.

I have been awake for a bit. Pink if Gmail is your e-mail server, there are two settings for e-mail deletion. You can delete off single device i.e. your phone, or all devices (phone & computer). I am not sure what my settings are right now, but I also need to do a major purge. I try to purge mom’s e-mail several times a week so she doesn’t donate to every politician and shady charity out there. I was frantically trying to crank out financials for one of the companies I work on when mom called and said she really needed groceries. So, I told her I would go after work ( was planning to go on my lunch, but I didn’t take lunch yesterday) ended up working past 7. Called DH at 6 to get dogs. Went to store, got to moms, carried in groceries and on my way out to car to grab last few bags, caught my foot in an old post hole. Maybe 4X4? And went down. Knees are scraped up but good. Was wearing nice WHBM dress pants in a petite size. They don’t have all their styles in Petite anymore ( none in that style in any color in my size) 🤬. I was/am pissed. I asked my brother at least 2 X to fix. Last year to fill hole, and more recently told him mom needed a railing there. My brother used to stop in there a lot, but I don’t know how often he is there anymore b/c mom just doesn’t remember. Last week I asked him to replace a light in the bathroom, and I know he stopped in & took care of it, and I got a card for his new granddaughter which mom signed & wrote a check for, and he stopped in & picked it up. Mom, forgets stuff. She told me last night she needed a card for the baby, I said no mom, I got a card last week, we filled it out, wrote a check and I called DB to pick it up. We put it on table by front door & it is gone, so DB picked it up. So, last night I brought a card for my youngest niece who is 19 on Saturday. Had mom fill it out & write a check b/c she will go on Sat for dinner at DS’s house. We also wrote check to church for booster tickets and she wrote a check to me for groceries. I walked in door at home about 8:30, to my husband raging b/c I was so late, and my Dog barking b/c he wanted to be walked. I had not eaten yet. I told DH, I will walk dogs as soon as I eat. I then got a lecture about how I should have eaten with my Mom. He waked the dogs. I didn’t ask him to do it, because I kind of wanted to walk/relax/unwind. Today s/b better. I need to clean my house a bit. I also need to do s major purge/declutter. I did some on Sunday, but have a long way to go. DD will be home Thurs or Fri till Sun afternoon, so, I would like to clean up a bit. I might visit Homegoods-my living room could use a seasonal update. M is ready for his walk. Gotta get up. Yikes! I hope you are okay. How are you today? (Really) I tripped and fell on Friday and had to ice my knee and the bruise for a few days. It's brutal. But finally getting a little better. Did you ruin your pants? ♡ My knees are a little bruised/scrapped but not too bad, I had twisted my ankle a bit, but it is fine. My heel caught in the hole. I did not tear through my knee on my pants, but it is definitely scraped & thin. My guess is they were about $78-100 and would run about $100 to replace right now. They were not that old-maybe last year or 2 years ago. I have 2 others very similar, but they are a size larger and not a Petite size, they are a "short" version of the same pants, so the inseam is longer. They regular sizes also don't fit as well around the waist, so they tend to sink down on my hips and make me look a bit thicker. I actually looked last night to see if I could replace them, they had a steel blue color in P, but not in my size. I will have to watch next week and hope someone returns a pair in my size. The ones that are damaged are black. My DS sells stuff on e-bay, Poshmark and wherever else people buy and sell stuff. I have been pulling my better donation stuff and sending it to her. Last week I took her a few purses, some old I-phone cases and some Bandolier products I had. I think she had just posted the purses and phone cases and she messaged me yesterday that she sold an Air-pod case for $23+ shipping. I thought she might have posted something too high and she said she starts high, then runs a sale for 25% off then takes offers. I said that is why I give the stuff to you, you know what you are doing. I looked on Poshmark to see if there was anything I might want 2nd hand, but nada. Lots of stuff I didn't even recognize so it must be really old. I was thinking about asking DS to watch for stuff I might be interested in. I think she could set up to get a notification. Revised the financials for the President. Most of the stuff he told me to expense last week, he decided to capitalize after he looked at the income statement. In the middle of my entry, we lost power and the computers went down. We are supposed to have a back up, but it is not working. I had messaged our IT person about it last week, b/c we had same thing happen last week. I read an article about AI, and they said AI could have a major impact on employment/jobs within 3 years to the point where people will have to retrain for their jobs. The article really was not very informative though. I am not too worried as I plan to retire in 5 years, and would probably be fine anytime between now and then as long as DH can keep working. I want to have all the debt paid off before I retire though.

Ooooh, ooooh, oooh. I know!!!! Pick me! Pick me! I'm intrigued. Please share. I would like to hear what Swamp thinks too. I would say in the case of DH's company they don't seem to realize that many Spanish speaking customers would like to deal with a Spanish speaking agent. His company will take customers from a Spanish Speaking agent in Milwaukee and park them in an agency over 10o miles and about 1 hr. 45 minute drive away in an Monolingual English Speaking agency. Then the customers choose to be "serviced" in DH's agency and he would get something like 2% and the agency of record would get something like 6% (commission changed since the pandemic, and I believe it is only 4% max now for renewals). So, they finally changed that policy and after a year, they can be "Captured" by the other agency that is servicing the account and they will get the full renewal commission. DH is looking to hire an agent so he can start networking with all the clients he has been servicing but getting paid only minimal amounts if anything. My guess is you also have a very good reputation and they picked up on that when they hired you. The fact that you speak Spanish is just a bonus.

Plumbing inspection showed no significant problems but he gave us a quote for some little tweaks if we're interested, and for a new hot water heater when this one dies. It's 9 years old so maybe next year. The guy is super nice (he's been here many times before) so he got to go home to his wife I just wasn't in a retail therapy mood today so maybe tomorrow. Thursday is the big haircut for the trees. I did get the bank statements reconciled and even filed - woohoo!

My water heater is 16 years old. It was guaranteed for 9 years. I am living on borrowed time.
One reason I like living in small towns is last week, the contractor had me call the city to see if I had a water leak. He had this idea that the sump pump was running so much because there was a leak under the house. The City Clerk said the pipe runs to the front of the house from the street and then is all inside the house so any leak would be in the house not under the house.
She called back this morning to see if there were still problems. I don't think there are. I think it's the rain and the high water table. She had talked to the guy in charge of the water department. He said I would lose pressure if I had a leak so bad it was getting to the sump pump. My water pressure is the same it's always been so there is no leak.
I am not seeing much grass growing and I'm starting to wonder if biting the bullet and sodding this is a better idea. I do not want to spend the money, but it may be better in the end to get grass established again.

I know planting is significantly less expensive, but it takes so long, is sparse and usually has a lot of weeds to deal with. I'd go with sod, if at all possible.

The very best time to put down seed is in the Fall, because the ground is warm. Even so, quality seed, like Kentucky Bluegrass, takes around 3 weeks to begin growing. We haven't seen anything from the seed we've put down, but then the ground has been cool, and we haven't yet hit 3 weeks. Doggone dog damage!

I've been out mowing had to come in and rest. Had 3 of those tiny oranges and 2 real minny cokes to give me some energy. Spring is hard on me after sitting on my rear all winter. And this grass is heavy, hubs mowed it high, and was going to again but it kept raining. So I'm bagging it for DIL's compost pile as I mow, he did too.
I'm going to measure the rooms, I think we can get some of our furniture in here. I didn't have any floor lamps or I would not have bought this new one, but I really like it. I want to get rid of the half chair and a rocking chair and foot stool, was going to anyway was why I brought them up here.
I'm going to take little guy and DIL our for dinner with DD and I this afternoon. I bought fish at the store but haven't bought any other meat except lunch meats and not a lot of those.
I'm thinking of having hubs take the chandelier out of this room so we can really make it just one big living room. Actually this room is long enough you could enclose the end and make a 3rd bedroom. It's at least 28 foot long X 16 or 14, not sure which, but we won't.
Ok back at it, need to quit by 3.

I have been eating all day. I don't know what's different today, but I'm like a bottomless pit.
Only one more meeting to go, then I'm bypassing the kitchen and going out for a walk, lol.

I was reading this month's AARP Bulletin and they had advice on how to get a live customer service representative on the phone instead of using chatbots. They provided a website called GetHuman.com "which tells you the number to call to get a person and the average wait time for many companies."

whoo........ I def just hung up on my sister and she's called back with a vm that I'm leaving til the am. same bullshit as the last time around, and she was all well and good when I was laughing at her story that she HAD TO TELL! until I challenged her opinion on another issue. and then she got combative, and I'm all set. I'll listen to the vm in the am and decide when/how/whether I want to respond. this was actually the first time since I hung up on her that I've actually answered the call. I think I'm all set here. ETA: as I think about this more, I'm angry now, and gonna sign off stuff tonight. but I'm definitely going to be changing some settings coming up. and, apologies in advance for anything I'm gonna whine about this week on this particular topic. the gist - DSis - blah blah blah me - what are you telling me? DSis - why do you interrupt me? you tell me I'm stupid because I don't agree with XYZ, and blah blah blah. hey maybe actually listen to the questions I ask? try something new, you've never done that before. welcome to your 40s, people expect you to adult. adulting means that if you don't know the context of the question, you excuse yourself to find out more about it. you don't blather on about whatever you think the question was. whatever, I'm over it. I'm not answering her calls for awhile, if there are any in the near future. I'll listen to the vm in a day or so, which I'm sure is gonna be some arugmentative thing about me not listening. I'm done, I don't care anymore. this woman has whined about nobody listens to her since we were children, and she took a fucking hour to explain something that should have taken 5min. and if anyone interrupted her?? the clock started over. fuck this, I'm all set. and they wonder why I moved an hour away, almost 10 years ago.

I was reading this month's AARP Bulletin and they had advice on how to get a live customer service representative on the phone instead of using chatbots. They provided a website called GetHuman.com "which tells you the number to call to get a person and the average wait time for many companies." I just mumble when robot ask question. Get the “I’m sorry I did not understand, please repeat”. I mumble again and get “let me connect you with an agent”. Been doing this for about 5 years now. Works like a charm!

I am going to check on sod costs. I know it's the wrong time of year to be planting seed.
I also know when this house was new, we tried seed and it kept washing away, so three of us went together and had sod put in.
From what the internet says, it takes about 2 years to get a lawn going with seed versus about 3 weeks with sod.
There is hail falling on my house and the cats just went in to hiding.
