I prepped the window boxes and bought flowers and cherry tomatoes to plant. The price of everything has gone up. $9 for a small pot of begonias. Last year they were $5 for $25.

Ummm, got an email from our council member about some sort of shady stuff the mayor is doing so DH and I sent the council member more $$ and I texted him thanks for shining a spotlight on stuff. It takes courage to ask the tough questions.

I think I may have resolved my e-mail issues. When I Googled the problems I was having, most answers said my devices weren’t communicated with the server.
So I sat down at my Mac and logged into my email account on the web, with my mail app open on my phone and iPad. My devices were communicating with the server, because when I deleted emails on one of them, they showed up in the recently deleted folder on the web. My inbox on the web said I had 38k messages.
Long story a little shorter, it seems that for 2 years now, when I’d clean up my inbox using the mail app on my devices, they didn’t necessarily get deleted on the account for real. The more I deleted on the web, it kept downloading those messages again, and even older messages to my devices.
I ended up moving the messages I want to keep to different folders, and started deleting everything on the web and on my devices when more kept being downloaded. I emptied the trash bins everywhere, as I was deleting the messages. As of now, my inbox is clear on the web and on my phone and IPad. If all that shit comes back again, I’m done with it.

Y’all, I just can’t with my mother tonight. She means so well, and I’ve tried to teach her so many things, and she just totally made a mess of ordering DH’s birthday gift. First, she ordered the wrong thing. I sent her exactly what to order, and she went rogue, lol. Next, she didn’t put our full address in there!! WTH mom?! She knows our address, she mails stuff to me ALL THE TIME. And then bc she order the wrong thing, it wasn’t going to show up til after DH’s birthday. Thats not a big deal, but the amount of texts yesterday and day from her asking if it has been delivered was driving me nuts, haha.
anyway, I’ve fixed it all. Canceled the delayed order, and ordered the correct gift. Which will actually be here tomorrow. It’s fine, it’s all working, but I’m both annoyed and laughing. Mostly at myself. I should have just taken care of this myself in the first place.

Just got back from a sealife cruise and we saw tons. The best part was we saw a mama humpback whale and her calf cavorting in the sea! We stuck there for about 45 min watching them play.
Saw tons of sea otters, rocks full of sunning sea lions (we did have partial sun today too) nests of birds, including a few puffins and eagles, a porpoise school came up to visit the boat, black bears and goats on the shore and so much more. This was probably one of the best of these cruises I’ve been on for seeing things.
Lunch was provided, and despite it being a deli sandwich, it was quite good. The only drawback was one woman got horribly seasick and hurled.
It was a good day, we are alone in Seward as the Norwegian Jewel took off last night. We will be leaving here tonight for Valdez.

My friend and I were plant shopping last week and had sticker shock also. A lot of the prices were double what they were last year. Many of my plants were destroyed during the house renovations. I guess I'll just hang back and wait on clearance perennials, or start some new ones from seed.

Oh lord, I found some music on FB today and watched the group on YouTube tonight and will have to order CD's from Amazon tomorrow. "The Dead South", a Canadian folk/blue grass group that is crazy good.

I am tired, I got 3/4's of the lawn mowed and then just pooped out. Normally I would have pushed myself to finish it and then been down for 2 or 3 days, the new me has quit doing that. I will finish it tomorrow.
I took all of us out for dinner. It's at the sushi house, it was sooo good. DD must have been starved she ate and ate but there was so much she has enough for lunch tomorrow. Little guy ate a whole roll of sushi, tuna and salmon, he loved it. But I am beat tonight so I told him he needed to go home with mom, that he could come down for the evening tomorrow night. He was not happy, about started crying. He said I will just have to go home and go to bed, if he does its because of the way he started acting. I just couldn't do it tonight. Age is really creeping up on me. It's only 6 and I have my PJ's on and am watching telly.
My house is all clean, I'm down to cleaning hubs and my shower. I bought some Zep cleaner at Home Goods and it did a great job on my old green bathtub here. When we first moved in that thing was awful, now it shines. I've cleaned it really good many times. Now I need to see if I can improve the looks of the shower. All the faucets are all new in both bathrooms and the kitchen so they are in good condition.
I ended up with 5 bags of grass for DIL and I think there is almost another full bag in it now. I got me a set of little clippers to go around the edges of things that the weedeater won't get up close to. I will get the lawn looking really good.
While here I hope to paint the fence and the outside of the carport. I need to clean the inside of my car and need to get the insurance switched. Today went to fast for me. I doubt I make it up to long tonight.
At least it was a really pretty day, no rain and its 68 right now. I hope tomorrow is just as nice.
I'm noticing I don't feel air coming out of the dryer vent outside, not good. I looked behind the dryer no lint back there so means its going under the modular somewhere. Hubs can't get under there so I wonder who I can get to check it and fix it. There is nothing major wrong here but little things. I don't want him to have to fix that.

My house is as clean as it is going to get before my parents' visit, other than doing one more sweep for cat hair tomorrow morning. I haven't seen my cat de-shedder since my six year old nephew was chasing the cats around the house with it, so floating cat hair is currently an issue.

Anyone else ever have a hot dream about a coworker and had to face them the next day?
Wow that was awkward. Doubly so because said coworker is young enough to be my kid
I was having one of those dreams where I'm back in college but get lost finding my dorm room (feeling lost and like I have no direction in life)
This time it decided to throw some steam into the mix.
Stupid brain.

People dress up like them at the shows.

Good morning, invisible Y Ma'am aficionados of music, integrity, sex, cleanliness, and sea life. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day resounds with happy things and that there's ice cream or its equivalent in your life. And that no one pees on your pancakes. Today may be the day that I dye a shock of hair purple. I'm ready except that directions say to apply to freshly shampooed towel-dried hair, which I'll get to. Interesting, most dyes I've used specify unshampooed dry hair, then rinse afterward without shampooing. Shampoo. That's an interesting word. I have errands to run with DD, after we have lunch. And I need to plan for packing to go to Denver on Friday morning. Also need to run Nino to clean the floors. Rats. I had something pithy and pertinent to say, and have completely forgotten it. Yesterday morning was overcast again but the light did break through the edges of the blue clouds obscuring the sun as it rose:

I was about to quit watching old Grey's Anatomy, but can't. I gave up after they killed Derek. I think shows hang around too long sometimes. I gave up on House and NCIS after many seasons, too. It's so formulaic that it's just like watching the same episode over and over. I would rather have 7-8 seasons of awesome than 14 seasons where it just turned mediocre. I hung on for The Blacklist because it was so good at the beginning but the final years weren't good, and the finale was terrible.

I was reading this month's AARP Bulletin and they had advice on how to get a live customer service representative on the phone instead of using chatbots. They provided a website called GetHuman.com "which tells you the number to call to get a person and the average wait time for many companies." I just mumble when robot ask question. Get the “I’m sorry I did not understand, please repeat”. I mumble again and get “let me connect you with an agent”. Been doing this for about 5 years now. Works like a charm! I just say "Agent", to every question. Also works very well.

I wish the shows I liked could even get to 7 seasons anymore. I feel like everything is on this 3-5 season, 8 episode a season AT BEST anymore. Drives me nuts.

Stupid brain. I do that, usually though, my dreams show that I have daddy issues. Last night was a dream about a stakeholder, that, when we deal with work, he makes me feel safe, heard, and important. He laughs at my jokes, And he's got a super cute smile that's a little devilish around the edges. And he's smart- book smart and practical smart. He's also 12 years older than me, at least. My DS is also older than his kid. So, last night I dreamt that we were pairing up for doing some music out of a musical, and he was getting forward with pressing his hand in my back. And, yes, that is exactly what steam is for me. (And typing this out, it really doesn't take much to get in pants, does it?) And then I segued into DH telling me that I needed to change all of his passwords on his devices because he slipped, and lied yet again when I asked him about it. (I did actually ask him if everything was OK yesterday.) He said it was. He's probably telling the truth in real life. I hate that this is the first thing I wake up to. My spouse probably telling the truth, but you just don't know for sure. I also woke myself up after at. At 5:30. The nice thing about being so stressed out is that I remembered exactly 0 dreams. I wish I could be less stressed out and remember 0 dreams. That would be nice.

My brain is on/working/intense for about 12-13 hours a day. I don't want to have to think in a show. I want to just drool while sitting next to DH and call that working on our relationship. Or it provides great background noise when I need something other than silence to help me focus on work. I also put NCIS on when I can't sleep. When I sleep through 3 episodes, it does not matter. I'm working on my 3rd pass of NCIS. I've done House twice.

My go to when I can't sleep is Law and Order SVU. So relaxing. Going to get bloodwork this morning. Decided to go to the small hospital where the doctor is. It's much less crowded than the big clinic in town. Tomorrow is the dermatologist bright and early. I am concerned about the place I want her to see. I think that is causing me to lose sleep at the moment.

I may have mentioned this here before, I know I've said it recently to a couple friends so I honestly don't know. excuse the repeat if I have.... but the best thing to get me to fall asleep is a nearly 20yo series airing on HLN called Forensic Files. it was rebooted with a new narrator after the original guy died, but it's not as effective. the first narrator's voice is so soothing! he can be talking about the most grisly of crimes and it puts me right out. HLN generally has a marathon on the overnights, which is nice and convenient

I can play the same series over and over because I never really am comprehending what is going on, it's mostly just background sound to drown out all the work sounds. Same with the Outlander book series on audible. Davina Porter's voice is just so easy to listen to, and since each of the books is like 30 hours of narration I have lots of material.

Getting a little anxious about tomorrow, since I don't do well in crowds or traffic. DS has his graduation at 1 and then all that were attending in our group were going to go out to dinner so that was going to be doable, but now apparently there is a departmental ceremony at 9:30 am as well which he also wants me to attend. It's a 2.5 hour drive but seeing as it's rush hour I may as well tack another 30 minutes on that at least. If it was only me, I'd just hit the road at 6am as I'd rather be early and twiddling my thumbs than late, but my ex has also decided at the last minute that he probably should go to his kid's graduation after all (I think pressure from his siblings that are going!) and is riding with me.
It's going to be a long day.

Going to get bloodwork this morning. Decided to go to the small hospital where the doctor is. It's much less crowded than the big clinic in town. Bloodwork done. I'm walking down the hall to go to my car and notice there is blood running down my arm. So back I go. By then it had stopped bleeding but she wrapped it. That must smell like a hospital because the cats won't come near me. The plebotomist did tell me that yesterday a woman pulled the bandage off in the hall and the blood was spurting. That became a hazardouse clean up. Why would you take the bandage off that soon? The woman didn't want to wear it to work. So she got the wrap instead.

We hit up a new little Moroccan sandwich shop and it was crazy good. They only have tables inside but do a gigantic take-out business too. The food was amazing and their mint tea is addictive. Next week we're trying the Afghani kabob house near us. The food makes Houston traffic and crime worth it all
