Will watch Oak Island with grandson tonight. We’ve been watching for years and still no treasure but lots of money spent on excavating machines. We watched Avatar 2 last night. Toooo looong!
Any recommendations for good movie for tomorrow night?

James Cantore is in Davenport. That is not good. Flooding is imminent here but yes I agree, that means it is worse there. Stay safe and be careful.

I have tmr's cell # and texted her that we're thinking of her. I wish I lived close enough to go see her. TY. My Dad gets stents replaced every six months for his kidneys. This is scarier. Should we do a greeting card blitz or something so she's reminded we want her here?

DIL and grandson came by for a few hours. He had been to art class, he always draws something in the solar system, this one was some type of pulsar. I asked if some of the other kids at school were interested in space information. He said no none of them understand what I am talking about. That's sad, would like to see him grow in those areas. I think he could. I was going to invite him to stay overnight but he started sneezing. I'm not over this and I just can't take a chance of adding too it. I do need to get home and take care of stuff. Hubs told me he has been walking on my treadmill, SAY WHAT? Him on my treadmill, I never thought I would see the day. But I'm glad he is, I was afraid he would get weak so I think he is trying to stave it off. I am really tired tonight. I'm thinking of going to bed soon. I did run to the grocer and I did not lose my car. I didn't take DD this time. If anyone stole the car doesn't matter have insurance, just wouldn't want to lose my sweetie. There are lots of car thefts here from what I have read. I'm drinking warm water since it said that helps dissolve the mucous and clears it for awhile, it does. It's just if you keep drinking it pretty soon you feel waterlogged. It's raining pretty good outside tonight, but I'm warm and cozy in here. CG - Go onto NASA's site. They have a thing where someone's name can go to the moon with the Artemis? robot that is going to be traveling around for 100 plus days looking for ice water in preparation to people habituating on the moon. I believe your GS would really get a kick out of having his name with the rover.

Most of CNJ and NNJ are watching out for floods. I know the NJ Shore this morning was allegedly getting possibly wind gusts in the 60mph range. Storms are raging all over the US. I hope it calms down some soon.

If you throw a pork tenderloin in a plastic container with a big slug of Kikkoman Garlic and Green Onion Teriyaki Sauce, and let it sit in the fridge for 8 hours or so, and bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes (internal temp 140 degrees) it will be very tasty and moist for minimal effort. Side of mixed veggies seasoned with a pat of butter and we were good to go.

Last night I knitted a gauge to see if I’m good to start this sweater. I’m right on the button, so happy with this. Right now, I’m trying to figure out what to do about this yarn. I needed 4 hanks of it, 3 were very close. The 4th (of about 4 remaining) seems to have more purple than blue in it. I chose the hank remaining that seemed the closest to the others. I am afraid that if it’s not close enough that it will look strange. The woman I bought it from suggested using it alternate rows. Great……just one more complication! The yarn is merino/silk/linen blend that knits up absolutely beautifully. It’s a lot finer than that I’ve been working with, so this is going to take forever. I’ll figure it out. The pattern is Lemon Spritz by Olive knits and it says it’s for advanced beginners. We will see. Could you possibility do the edging and sleeve caps in the more purply hue? that would look rather pretty. The pattern looks really nice!

So. Much. Rain. They were estimating a total of 2.5-3 inches and I think that’s conservative Everything canceled today, including cello lesson. I will be hella pissed if they wait till the last minute to declare a two hour school delay in the morning.

We do not animals in the house anymore, but an animal in the house peeing on your bed is a sign of aggression. That pet needs to be in a crate, IMO.

I just had a fantastic chat with Mom, about both her and Dad, for the past few days. Dad will be fine, he's called her 3 times since he became lucid again in his hospital room, to complain about nobody letting him up to walk around. 🤣🤦♀️. I also asked some more questions about Mom's time in the ER, that I thought of today.
and, I think I mentioned having spoken with the boarding coordinator for the pups earlier, so I won't repeat myself. but M confirmed tonight that she has to travel that week, so I'll be boarding the pups. I don't love the price tag, but I know the company and the quality of care they offer. it's a place they have been going for years, and are comfortable there. I'm not springing a new place on a pair of tired 9yo pups just to save a few bucks.
I've lined up mooch to be primary contact for the pups and my house if anything blows up, and I'm gonna leave him an empty CC to just cover whatever needs it if anything does come up. I'm at peace with this, and I'll enjoy the unplug once I get there. namaste. 💗🐾

That is my line in the sand when it comes to pet behavior. With a cat, I have taken them to the vet and I have brought in a behavioral therapist. Those worked. I don't know what I would have done if it had not but I will not have an animal peeing all over my house. That is not something I am willing to deal with either. Especially since I am the only one that tries to keep the house halfway clean. I had to use the small spot cleaner to clean what ran onto the carpet when he peed on the bag in the living room. The carpet cleaner didn’t work properly when I tried to use it a few weeks ago. I asked Mister to see if he could figure out the problem, because I’d tried, with no luck. When Mister was sick and sleeping in the other bedroom, I saw that Boy had somehow got hold of the cap to one of the tanks for the carpet cleaner, and chewed it up. It was laying on the floor in that bedroom. I paid over $200 for that carpet cleaner after we moved here, and I’ve used it regularly because of the dogs. I am sure it will irritate Mister for me to bug him to replace it. But I don’t like nasty carpet with spots all over it. I already bought what I needed to handle what was an issue for me. He can either figure out if that one can be fix and the cap can be replaced, or buy a new, comparable one with his own money. Or he can pay for a professional to keep coming to clean the carpets. Which, now that I thought of it, would actually be less work for me, if I refuse to spot clean all the spots from Boy getting into something he shouldn’t, and throwing up. So maybe that’s my solution, professional cleaning that Mr. Moneybags pays for, as often as necessary. I think I’m going to just make an appointment for Boy to get neutered and tell Mister to drop him off on his way to work. I totally agree with making that appointment. Even after surgery, keep a close watch on Boy. My vet told me a long time ago that if neutering doesn't change aggressive behavior, sometimes you still have to hire a professional trainer, rehome them, or in extreme cases put them down. Never let any child be alone with a dog who has shown aggression. I don't care how much Mister "loves" him, the dog is showing his true colors. You wouldn't forgive Mister or maybe even yourself if someone in the household were attacked.

Made it into a cowl, and I was quite pleased at how it turned out.

Thanks. It is what it is. I was reminded that I'm not ever getting that PhD that I thought about. Which momentarily makes me sad. There's just no reason to waste those kinds of resources.

Even though I am angry with Mister about Boy, and trying to be realistic about what Boy needs, some of the posts about him make me sad.
I still don’t think he is a “bad” dog. I mostly think Mister is a bad parent for him.
I don’t really know what the peeing on stuff in the house and on Mister’s brother is really about, but my first thought is to talk to the vet about it and get him neutered, to see if he is doing it to leave his “mark”.
Still, I meant what I said about not letting him sleep with my children and grandchildren anymore. He hasn’t been aggressive as far as trying to attack anyone. When I said something about him starting to display protective instincts, I was referring to how he has started barking and growling when he hears someone moving around the house in the middle of the night after everyone has gone to bed, and won’t settle down until he knows that whoever is moving around the house is someone that belongs here. That is a problem because he is in our bedroom and the door is closed, so he doesn’t know who he hears moving around in other parts of the house. But once he knows who it is, like if it’s me and I say “hey Boy, it’s me” (YD still won’t do it even thought I’ve asked her to) or we get up and open the door so he can go investigate and see who it is (YD) he settles down and immediately goes right back to bed.
Since I can’t make Mister do anything, just like it’s impossible to make any other person do a certain thing, I don’t know what else to do besides getting Boy neutered. Maybe I can reach out to Mr. T and get his thoughts and maybe ask him to talk to Mister, since he obviously knows what he is doing with the dogs he raises and trains.

The more of this stuff I see, the happier I am that I am no longer in the workplace That's kind of the same way I feel about marriage. Every now and then I think "wouldn't it be nice"? Then I read a few pages on here. Me considering myself lucky that I never agreed to marry anyone. I've had enough fucked up relationships for one person. I'll just be single forever and be happy.

I did not sleep well last night. Ran out of mucinex night time and I coughed and coughed. I don't think this is ever going to leave me, dang. So I got some today, and hope I sleep better. I'm in a good mood but rather tired.
DIL called this evening and asked if I cooked anything delicious today, LOL! I said no just got DD a McD's for dinner, but I planned to in the next few days. I don't want to try using that oven again hoping this time it will work right and maybe ruin a whole pan of lasagna. So hoping I get the new stove earlier on Thursday and it works right.
I just cannot justify going out to dinner and spending $100 to $150 for basic food. Son said he liked home cooked better anyway and he is the same, just said its costing too much. So I did spend that much but got enough meat for lasagna, a chuck roast, round steak for the round steak stuff he likes, and found turkey wings and legs to make noodles and meat. I can also make veggie soup from the left over roast, so 5 meals for the price of one eaten out. Even I finally have a price point I just don't feel comfortable with. I hope to cook well for hubs when I get home too. We will go to our amish place and get good meat again.
I told hubs we need to be vigilant, if trump gets back in again, we need to go back to stocking up all necessities because this time there may be no coming back from the abyss. He learned what all he can ruin from his last time in and I fear what he will do. If you pray, do, that he cannot get in its essential to the viability of our country and way of life. So I may be back to basics again of canning, raising food, and whatever else we need to do to live.

Random lurkyloo - do you have an airfryer? I'm guessing you do but it's been a game changer here for dinners. Set airfryer on preheat - season protein- even frozen solid - toss in fryer and it's not done, but it's pretty quick and clean up is easy. Years ago we got premade meals from a local place I wish I could find again. This and the instant pot are my faves. I love that I can cook frozen chicken to falling apart in 30 minutes. I can also cook beans from dry in a bag to fully cooked in 40 minutes instead of soaking overnight and cooking for hours. I have two of each and love them!

The missy is watching youtube. Which is fine. DH and I need to work. However, it's been 15 minutes of the same re-worded nursery rhyme sung by grown men in dumb voices AND the missy. These young men said their mom thought the song was awesome. I think their noses grew at some point. How old is she now?

Is that dog a pit bull? And he hasn't been neutered? Man, I would never take a chance on one of those.
Our son worried about out big old lab around little guy when he was a baby, that old dog loved the kid, but I was worried too, he even loved the kids little dog. They became best buddies, but both were neutered early on. Any unneutered male animal can become aggressive.
I don't understand why he would let that go on.
You guys really need to talk to each other. Open up and talk about everything. It will either smooth things out or end badly, but if you don't its not going to work anyway. Communication is the key to all differences. I think there is too much supposition by both of you and it may be causing a lot of your issues. I hope you can get it smoothed out, I hate to hear partners having problems, makes me sad.

And there is no way I would have a dog or cat peeing all over on everything like that. I would try everything to stop it, but if I could not, they would be euthanized or rehomed. I fear they would be abused elsewhere for it. I agree, Mister is doing a disservice to that animal. If he loves him, he needs to help him to live in a loving home.
