They did covid and flu testing and another chest xray. Said my vitals are good. She gave me tessalon for cough, its a pill but sure has helped. I can take one every 8 hours without drowsyness. Also another inhaler to help and prednisone for the swelling in there. I feel a little better but only a little. I'm coughing up mucous and burping a lot. But don't feel good. Son said don't worry he can cook the turkey but I want to make my good dressing if able. If people come to the house I'm wearing a mask. I won't be making bunches of cookies like little guy wants. But I may be able to make baked beans, dressing, and mac and cheese. Mashed potatoes? We will see. I have a pot of water filled with chicken hearts and gizzards for broth. Boiling it should be safe I hope. I'm so tired. I doubt there is mold in here. New roof and I don't see any evidence it has leaked. But DIL says it takes her a year to get used to anyplace she moves, yeah, I'm back and forth and we have been out in many crowds of late, so who knows. And I didn't feel the best when we flew up here. Glad you were able to get treatments for your symptoms. Hopefully, your body will soon overcome whatever bug hit you.

Waiting until this morning to buy vegetables has backfired. There are no more green beans nor asparagus at the store. 🤦🏻♀️

Thinking about getting off my ass and bathing myself. I want to get as much ready for tomorrow today as possible. I'm alao taking everyone's presents to mom's house where we're having Christmas tomorrow. I bought T1's GF this as she's a fitness girly and is turning their garage into a gym. I hope she likes it, but it's pretty heavy. Not looking forward to lugging it around. www.walmart.com/ip/574752300

There's a DnD Mac and cheese bar opening 4 miles from my house. There goes all DHs money in 2024.

DH was an ass yesterday about something he THOUGHT I did, which I did not. Since then he has been speaking his love language (worried and trying to help with my physical ailments) throughout the evening, night, and this morning as apology. I need the words "I'm sorry" this time, as his reaction to what he thought I did was completely over the top. Not sure I can let that go or how the holiday will end up. I'll take any prayers or good thoughts anyone wants to offer up.

2 of my coworkers died this week. One, I remember fondly even though he took a job at a sister facility some years ago. The other one, B, his death hit a lot harder because we still worked the same shift, in the same building, and talked a lot. He is the coworker I may have mentioned last year, when his Dad and his daughter both died within a week. His Mom also died last year. He had been talking about retiring for 2 or 3 years, and had finally made his mind up to go on and do it. His last day of employment was supposed to be next week, 12/31. One of his family members found him dead in his garage. Apparently he had a heart attack. He was a good guy, and it really hurt to learn that he died. Him and the other coworker dying this week made me think about how my coworkers don’t seem to live long lives, something I’d never really thought about before even with all the deaths over the years. Today, I tried to think of any that lived even into their 70’s. From what I can remember over the years, the ones that worked long enough to even retire, if they retired in their 60’s, they didn’t make it to their 70’s. That has put even more shit on my mind, about how life can be so much shorter than we think it will be. Hell, Mister’s parents didn’t even make it to their 70’s. But why do so many of my coworkers die before they are even 70yo? There have been so many, more than I talk about here. A couple weeks ago, a supervisor was found slumped over a desk at work, and rushed to a hospital. Last I heard a few days ago, she was still unconscious and her family said it would be a miracle if she came back. She is in her 60’s I apologize for talking about this shit so close to Christmas, but I really am very sad about my coworkers dying, especially B, and genuinely upset about all this death shit. Woah, that’s rough. Definitely makes me think harder about working less. I’m so sorry another emotional toll being added onto you.

I have a hair cut and partial highlights appointment scheduled for Thursday (28th). Should I cancel? I wouldn’t unless I truly couldn’t physically sit there because of not feeling well. However, I work in the Petri dish that is 360 kids and 45 staff. My mental tolerance for germs and the concept of spreading germs is much higher than most people’s. How does your stylist feel about it? Should you ask them if they want to postpone?

Bummer about the Covid, Taz. I hope it is just the blahs for a day. I have risen from a 1.5 hour nap. We are going to go out for a bit to look at holiday lights. I'll have to make one more batch of bars tonight. I am so happy for you getting a nap!!!

I’m hiding out in my home office while DH finishes his wrapping. In the last hour I’ve gone thru my closet and packed a bag to be donated, wrapped my last gift, and am now checking in here. If I get a chance I’m going to take a quick walk soon before the rain comes. Given the humidity of the last few days, I almost welcome the downpour they are calling for. It cracks me up how some partners don’t plan well enough to wrap in secret. My husband made me vacate the premises yesterday so he could wrap my gift. He’s had ample opportunity to wrap it without me knowing.

Let my niece put on her cow onesie. So far I have laughed at a dabbing, flossing cow. And now I'm cracking up at a cow on our swingset.

So I assembled two pans of lasagna. One for us and one for my friend that just had ankle replacement. It made me hungry!

TD successfully made butter tarts last night. I like them, but find that they are too sweet for me. Hopefully he’s taking them across the border tomorrow.
I had pulled out butter to make cookies today and realized he used that butter to make the tarts. I had hoped to do it this morning, before sticking the roast in the oven. Thinking that isn’t happening. He still needs to make an apple pie for tomorrow too.
Finished my last scarf last night for my nieces. Still need to make one more hat. Christmas will be a little late for them this year……whoops!

I am on the down swing. Peanut butter blossoms are cooling. Made nut bars this morning. About to make cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow. Then hopefully snickerdoodles.
The girls wrapped all the gifts. Which was wonderful.

I get to have a quiet Christmas for the first time in 20 years.
We're moving Christmas with my family to tonight.
Then with BIL divorce drama and FILs issues we aren't doing his big family thing.
Which was honestly the most stressful and exhausting. I've had to give up a lot holiday wise for that. Including rushing my own Christmas morning with the kids.
I'm going to make breakfast tomorrow and dinner I'm excited.
I miss my mom and his mom. And it's unfortunate grandma ended up in a home but I don't find myself too disappointed in how things are changing beyond that.
I need something I can control and be in charge of.
I don't find myself cranky and anxious either. Normally I'm climbing the walls by now.

I also beat the peanut at cribbage, and it was close.
And last night we saw a Christmas light display.
There will also be cookie decorating this afternoon.
And I have all the guilt regarding my mom.

I did and today is much improved after a very difficult conversation.

A friend brought Chex Mix for us and DH swears he's never had it before. I think we'll be making some next year Had Kung Pao chicken at our usual Sunday restaurant and it was fiery! I went through 5 tissues and my sinuses are pristine. Now it's nap time. If I don't get back here later, I hope everyone as a peaceful and safe holiday

I'm relaxing with some couch time. Punk doesn't approve, but she's gonna have to suck it up a couple more days. I'm upstairs waiting on some leftovers to reheat, and then we're going back down to pick up with Reacher (the tv series, not the movies). I'm only on episode 2, but I love it already. it's holding much closer to the line of the book character rather than Tom Cruise's movies. I'll probably watch everything today.

Took advantage of the nice weather and the help and did about 3 hours of controlled burning this morning. I had a dream of getting all the loose hay out of my barn, but I think in the end we only eliminated about 1/3 of it. It was too windy to burn more than a lawn tractor trailer load at a time so it was pretty slow going. I think we got about 12 loads out before everyone was thinking they really needed breakfast (it was about 1pm LOL)

Well, I am a lot better today. I was so sick yesterday I thought dying would be a good alternative, it was awful. I was like a zombie.
They said no fever, but I was so hot I put on light weight jams and turned the furnace way down. About 2 this morning I woke up absolutely drenched in sweat. I had a folded up washcloth on my chest with vicks in it and it was soaked. So the whatever it was broke. It took me awhile to get back to sleep. I got up and checked the turkey in the fridge had not thawed at all, so scrubbed out a kitchen sink, don't have my big kettles up here and filled it with water to thaw. I unwrapped it as it was solid still.
Finally got back to sleep and slept till 9. Got up feeling pretty good so got busy. I now have giblets cooking for broth, bread broke for dressing, eggs boiled for deviled eggs. I called son and now he is sick! I haven't been around him that much so I think it is grandson. We cancelled the sister and hubs coming tomorrow which is a big stress reliever to me. Don't need to super clean can mop the bathroom floors and that's about it. So grandson and DIL are going to her sisters today for Christmas, they are coming back tonight, its about a 2 hour drive up there. I know son didn't want to go up there anyway, of course, he didn't want to be sick, but I'm sure he is happy to be home. We are supposed to open gifts tomorrow morning, will see how that goes. I will just cook a lot less with just the 5 of us is all. Son and DIL are coming as is little guy and of course DD and I.
I called hubs to tell him I'm going to live, LOL! I am also going to take a nap here shortly so not to overdo it. And I'm still thankful for our little house here, I don't like staying with people. Like my own home.
I need to get my deviled eggs done, they are peeled, just need to mix stuff with the yolks, DD is waiting for some. Also making banana bread.
But I must admit I am getting tired, so after that will see if I can nap.
