I'm going to get son to rearrange the living room for me or help at least. I know its 24 foot long but I'm guessing 12 or 14 wide so a nice big room. But at one end is a big built in book case with mirror and cabinets below with a top clear across. On the counter part I have a Bose radio, 2 decorative jugs and a printer and right now a little Xmas tree in the middle DIL loaned me. I have decorative stuff above and right now just a few books. This makes it kind of awkward, I know that area was meant for a formal dining room which I find silly when I have a lot of room off the kitchen for that function. Of course I suppose where I have the table and chairs could be a family room and make this a formal area but we don't live that way. Also its better this way, if the family room was back there whomever wanted to watch telly at night would disturb people trying to sleep so this works better. It's quiet in the end of the modular this way.
There is one wall with 4 big windows and 2 registers, the couch could be pushed between the registers, right now its at the edge of the dining room which makes a big empty space there. Little guy plays in it at times but he also has the room that is a front entrance way where he can keep his toys and play, its probably 4 X 6 so opens up into this room also. We have a big TV on the wall at the end. Than another opening on the same side as the entrance way that goes into the kitchen. So a big room but with kind of a tough way of positioning furniture. But all of us together can think of a way. Sons house has a room about like it, awkward to position things in too.
I want to make sure we have enough room for everyone to sit when we open presents. I imagine little guy and DD will be on the floor by the tree. There will be 7 of us and seating for 8 or we could do 9. I don't think the sisters daughter and boyfriend will come but could if they want. We are going to put a 10 ft white table in the family room to hold the food for dinner. We can seat 6 with the leaf at the table and we have a bar where 3 could eat. So I think it will work ok.
I may get the heating pad but not the strainers, will just give those to her instead.

wait - this link is better for the bank robber story. this is closer to the interview I saw. CBS linkMy son will not do a "free" interview. He would be a good YM're and write a book. Title: My Mother Did What ? Of course he would have to be looking over his shoulder to see if I am haunting him And here I thought you'd be his cheering section. Shows you what I know

The doc I saw here told me to use my inhaler when needed, I realized about an hour ago I really needed it and of course could not find it. They would have prescribed me one, probably should have gotten it and the prednisone, but felt good enough I thought I didn't need it. Well, its a good thing I found it or would have been to the ER I think, it really opened up my bronchial tubes and whatever in there. Wow, what a difference. I don't understand my chest being clear with issues like that, it was sure getting tight in there. But now I'm ok. But the docs say I get something called bronchial induced asthma when I get a cold or whatever this is. I have been able to vac the place, its small enough can do in 15 or 20 minutes. I had to stop earlier and not do it, but now only have the living room left. Now I can breathe again will do it. I have a gift or two for DD to wrap and one for son. It sounds like dumb gifts but when I bought a heating pad today DIL was saying how she needed a new one and also sink strainers. Would that be dumb getting her something like those and wrapping them too? Her earrings I bought won't be here till the 26th or 27th, I do have a couple of other things under there for her, but didn't want to spend a lot more money and these won't be that much. But maybe too practical. I think she would like them though. I added to sons by buying him 2 boxes of Turtles candy, she said he loves it as do I. This year doing simple things people need but won't buy. I also got her a shower head that takes chlorine out of the water like mine. Doesn't soften it only does that, but almost $100 each. Little guy is the only one that got lots of toys. I still have to find something for her sister and hubs as I know they will get us something. Thinking of one of those cheese boards, they entertain a lot and I don't think they have one. It would be one gift than. We found DD a beautiful peacock that clips on, probably a foot long. It was $20, I got it to clip on her curtains in her bedroom, I know she will love that. Apparently wrapping the ductwork in here sealed up the system. I don't know if had holes or anything in it but the place is staying very clean dustwise. We track a lot in but the furniture has sat here since last August and very little dust, so that's good. I hope to feel like mopping tomorrow. Again it won't take long. And one day I need to clean my shower, the tub is clean from yesterday. It's like I start feeling better than I feel bad again, kind of cycling back and forth, will take all the meds and hope that does it. Anything I buy this time of year, which isn't needed right away, I wrap and it goes under the tree. Those earrings that are not there yet? Put a picture of them in a little box with a "Santa had to run back to pick these up for you" note. "He'll be back on xx December" or something and wrap the box. You can't do this for a little kid but for any adult, especially one that lives close by, this is free game IMO.

Your mother is too hard on people that love her, Pink Cashmere. You do not need to let her, or be okay with her trying to use you. There is nothing good about letting someone else no matter how much you love them pull you over the cliff. Hugs to you. If I were there I'd give you an awesome cookie, too.

Good morning, caring and loving invisipeeps, keeping your worlds turning. Welcome to Wednesay. I hope your day is surprisingly beautiful and robust health awaits everyone you love. And, no oneshouts ugly things or pulls a gun, or pees on your pancakes. Today I will be lunching with ODB and DSis as we review the Christmas day menu and decide who brings what. We will all be going on the day to DSis's home. I'm done wrapping except for the Bombas socks for everyone. With the ingredients on hand I think I'll be making snowball cookies. Must Stop.Eating.Bird's Nest.Cookies. And I need to set up the nativity featuring moose that a dear friend sent to DH years ago. DH is a champion of all things moose. The nativity is wonderful. I have it up on the server; I just need to arrange it. Yesterday was a flat dark morning. The quite violent storm mowed over the dunes and tore into the walkway at the beach. Now we have a much larger beach and a lesser dune. Sunset was rather special, though:

Pink - it's okay not to feel blessed by a toxic relationship. I know from experience that it's particularly hard when it's a dysfunctional parent. Your boundaries are healthy and not wrong.

I slept almost 11 hours last night. Definitely needed after the last couple of nights. Hands are cramping again. Took meds and have braces on.I think it is time to consider surgery. I just wanted to put it off as long as I could.

So. Because of everything since March of 20, I haven't remembered one single dream.
After almost 4 years, I must be doing well enough that I'm starting to remember some of them.
Last night's was particularly amusing. I was hiking around and ended up on "For Hims" Drive. Aptly named after the nice Dr who started for Hims. After a PG-13 encounter, somehow I made it to a school. In which I was chasing Slimer and other Ghosts with a foam sprayer.
Now I have an urge to watch ghostbuisters.

Also, I know enough about knitting where I feel confident enough starting to modify and blend patterns. Which is really cool. I feel like that's a milestone. And I don't want to get too excited. The folks that interviewed me yesterday started the interview off the same way that the folks who apologized for not hiring me did. I really hope that is a good sign. One of my old colleagues told me it was refreshing to be in a situation where people were like "wow, you really have some chops. We think you'd be the cat's pajamas to work with." I had snippets of that yesterday and Monday. bean29 I think I have employment for as long as I want where I am. I'm less worried about being fired than I was a year ago. And it is just not good. Those in power are abusing their power, and sometimes breaking the rules with that. Pretty soon I'm going to need two hands to count the number of really egregious things that have happened in the last year. And that's just what I know about. Others have told me they've seen other things that I'm not aware of. If you were working for someone and they broke accounting rules, and you are supposed to shrug and say nothing...I'm betting you wouldn't stay long term, either.

So I was talking to my nephew over the weekend and he was telling me about an encounter he had recently. He was at Walmart or Target in a whiter part of town getting something for my cousin. He was sitting in his car getting ready to leave. Some old white man decided to tell him to go back to where he came from. He was getting ready to tell him to F off, but he saw the guy had a gun on him so he just drove away instead of saying anything. It's 2023 y'all. My nephew doesn't speak Spanish and has never been to Mexico. He is just big and brown in America. He's lucky I wasn't there. I'm crazy enough to go out acting a fool to protect him. I was just watching a movie on Netflix about civil rights which reminded me of this. I'm so sorry that happened to your nephew. He did the right thing driving away. People carrying guns to go to Target? That's unhinged behaviour right there so there's no telling what he would do if your nephew had responded to the insult.

Anyone can carry a gun without a permit. There are no safety course requirements. We have basically no gun control outside of having to be 18 to buy a long gun and 21 to buy a pistol. It's why I worry about him. He's a large brown man walking around in a very red state. I would have defended him. I wouldn't have gotten up in his face, but I definitely would have schooled this man and called the police. He definitely did the right thing, but it pisses me off.

Plumber is here. Water in basement about 4” luckily furnace is ok Plumber just found out sump pump is broken and will replace. He said the new pump should remove most of the water He also said black ice on road. A school bus slid and is sideways across road. Tow trucks trying to remove. That’s scary cause that road runs along the lake and bus might have gone down hill into lake. I can’t see it from my side of the lake so must be further down. I’ll just stay home and not visit Jerseyguy at rehab

My neck and back are messed up. I can't decide if it's sore from the gym since I was doing bear crawls which I hate or if I just slept funny. I need to book a massage, but my guy seems to be taking off the same time that I am.

And I really should have said title of book would be My Mom Did What?? I can't even remember the last time he used the word Mother. In fact, I get Mooooooommmmm. Only person I know that can turn the word Mom into 8 syllables while rolling his eyes into the back of his head repeatedly when I do something book worthy

There will not be a silent night here for Christmas or in the foreseeable future as DH has decided to go back to practicing his guitar LOL! I probably wouldn’t mind, as long as he was doing it during reasonable hours. Idc about Mister banging on his drums, and they are very LOUD, as long as it’s not late at night or early in the morning. But you are not me, so I hope it doesn’t get on your nerves too much. It's not the volume because a classical guitar is relatively quiet, it's the repetition of notes. He doesn't play a song as such, he just practices various notes or something over, and over and over. He's been doing this since the 1980's. I would love to hear an actual song but that's not going to happen. I keep earplugs in my desk - in fact I have earplugs all over the house now. I will survive I'm sure

Definitely NOT awake yet. Please send caffeine, and lots of it. I've got a meeting down at city hall tonight, and it won't be fun. They're ripping up our streets sometime soon, and we'll be getting hit for assessments.

I bought an ornament on Monday after dinner.
My mom collected glass birds. Bob and I referred to it as the ugly bird collection.
It became a game on my part to find obnoxious birds to add to it.
Eventually I inherited most of them when I moved out.
I think I peaked on Monday. It is the tackiest pigeon I've ever seen.
I cracked up because mom would have been livid if I tried to put it on her tree.
Definitely "back of the tree" material.
I can hear my mom arguing it doesn't need to go on the tree this year every time I look at it.
