Whoops spoke too soon, now he is having yogurt, he is going to eat like his dad and grandpa. Been many a year since I have had a growing boy in the house. Now I'm starting to get aches and pains in my body, not sure why, maybe the weather? Weather changes affects my osteoarthritis badly. I have to look up how to use affect and effect. I know I use a lot of words wrong in sentences, but I need to look them up to use them correctly. Heating pads and NSAIDs work best. The PNW really isn’t the place to have OA. You used affect correctly.

The $4.95 sale was Sunday only, I think. There was a coupon code EVERYTHING to get the price. I saw that. My credit card thanks you. She's been through some things lately. I paid my card off yesterday. It was ugly.

Did you know that there is a toll road in TX that doesn't tell you it's a toll road? I guess it just has cameras and send a bill to the owner of the vehicle. So Enterprise billed me for tolls even though I paid all tolls in cash as I went along. This happened to my dad, only it was in NJ I think. He had a hell of a battle trying to convince them that it wasn’t his car as his car was with him……300 miles away. I don’t know if he won that battle, or just paid them to get that monkey off his back.

Ok, I'm all ready for my trip. Pickup will be in about 45 minutes but I have a question that hopefully someone here knows the answer to.
As I have mentioned before I recently got hearing aids and now my question is do I need to take those things out when going through the security scan?
If so I will just stick the little container they came in in my pockets but I prefer empty pockets so it would be nice to know if this is necessary

I haven't been to an airport in over 30 years so I have no idea how sensitive those things are now. Have a safe trip!!!

I do not enjoy this time of year at all. It is way too hectic for me. Just the work/school uptick is bad enough without tossing Christmas in there. I have to burn 4 days of vacation and can't really afford to with everything going on here, but screw it. I'm taking tomorrow off and I'm not even going to try to get anything done at home during that time. I'm going into full on slug mode for the day. Maybe a day on the couch with a frozen pizza and a bottle of Nyquil will help me shake this cold. It's mostly gone, but I'm still deaf. It seems worse than usual this year, to me. A day on the couch sounds freaking awesome. I think it's the 2020 and 2021 covid break in all the holiday events and expectations. 2022 we were all like wheee - free at last. Now in 2023, I'm all like 'eff all these unrealistic expectations."

I usually love Christmas shopping but without some inspiration it’s just one more damn chore. And, I feel obligated to road trip out after Xmas to check on my mother and I can’t even express how much I Don’t Wanna. Been a long year with a lot of adulting crossed off the to do list and at this point I think I’m just burned out.

I've put 300 miles on my van since I thought it was done for and it's only had a couple hiccups, so I felt confident enough to fill the tank again today.

We haven't even gotten around to getting the tree up yet. Part of me wants to just throw some lights on the banana tree and call it a day, but I think Carrot still enjoys putting on the ornaments.

A few weeks ago, when we had nothing on our calendar, I invited the couple we met on the cruise up for dinner. They had us down to their place a few months ago. My plan was to make a pot of seafood chowder….which is a pain in the butt to make, but so good.
She called me yesterday to cancel. Her son had bought her tickets at the same time for a show for their Christmas present. I was just a little relieved because since then every freaking day has now filled up.
That then caused another problem. She asked us if/when we are going to be in Palm Springs. Apparently, there is a mini reunion of all those we hung with on the cruise and we have been invited. The reunion is 1/16. We leave on the 20th to Norway. I asked TD last night if he wanted to go for a long weekend, and he sounded interested. I now need to figure logistics.

We have a tree because DH organized it. We have some ornaments on said tree bc DH hauled down the storage tubs and DS and his friend fished through the tubs and put some ornaments on. Notably, this means the ornaments are all within about one foot of 10-11yo eye level. Maybe I will get DH a banana tree for christmas

We already have two metal detectors…which brings me to the other problem with buying Christmas presents, which is that our house is Full.

Started the day with a trip to dentist. One small cavity. Went to put in my PTO for next year and was told to wait until the new year.

I think--dare I say it?--that my Christmas shopping is done. Just got a pair of dinosaur self-propelled trucks for 2 yo great nephew and a Lego Tech motorcycle for 9 yo great nephew. Great niece, 4 yo, is getting a picture of mine that she just loves, framed and ready for her room. She always asks to see it when DSis has my website open.
Ordered a fleece sweater for DS, and a few smaller items for DD, who is getting a Kindle.
DH is done as of last week, with the purchase of a 2 T portable SSD hard drive on top of what I'd already gotten him.
Brothers, sister, SIL, nephews and niece are getting Bombas socks, as always. And I'll be makeing cookies. Need to mail holiday cards, too.

My phone crapped out Sunday evening. Just suddenly only half the screen worked, and not the half that include my passcode to even open the damn thing. When I took the case off realized the back was pretty well cracked - not sure if I dropped it Sunday but I'm assuming something pushed it over the edge. I can't even access anything for work without a phone, we have kept our last several phones until they've failed so there weren't a lot of backups in the house, but we did eventually find dc phone - which is ds old phone and it can limp along enough that I was able to work yesterday. After many phone calls with conflicting information, it turns out we did have coverage on it and I'm getting a replacement for $100 which is by far the cheapest option and hopefully I'll be back up and running for real tomorrow.
Coupled with an absolutely foul mood I really wish I could get away from everyone for 24 hours but its not really in the cards right now.
Work is pretty slow with 3 of my 4 closings already done for the month and 1 of 2 for January already final approved. I need to clean and then get going on baking cookies. See if I can be in a better mood by the weekend at least.

I’m in the hospital with DH as he is going for a cardiac catheterization. Only another hour or so to wait to see what the next steps are. He’s been having some upper chest/esophagus pain and they are checking for blockages. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. Wishing you and yours, all the best!

I don't think I even own a cookie sheet anymore. I own 1 small frying pan and 1 small saucepan. That's it. And to think I used to put up peaches and tomatoes, bake cakes and cookies and cook from scratch.

We’re home from the hospital. DH has a severely blocked artery and will need a stent. So far it’s scheduled for December 21st. I was hoping it would be sooner as we were supposed to be visiting family in Georgia this weekend, but it looks like we’re going to be missing the family Christmas party.
DH is feeling fine as long as he doesn’t exercise or exert himself. Now I just need to keep an eye on him as he won’t stop.

Sons gift came on the 8th, would you believe they had not checked their mailbox?? Wow, we do that daily. But I think son has everything paid online. I do all I can.
Our damn credit card is messed up again, some shipping charge monthly charged to it. The site said you do not need to call the fraud department. They just wanted me to put in the first 4 digits and the last 4 of my credit card to cancel it. Say what? I'm not doing that, they either are just mass sending these or already have my number. Bank of America caught it and it was for $12.99 a month. I told hubs I may have to go to cash for a lot of things. I am sick of this, just got a new one the end of October.
I have vacced the hard floors and have to get out the big sweeper for the carpet. Pills are filled up, we have shots done. Need to go to the grocery and I want to put up my lights today. I have toilet lid covers of Santa and Rudolph, grandson liked those, me too, LOL!
I have 8 of those great big bulbs you put in the ground and I think enough lights for the fence and a couple of little Xmas trees lit. I guess someone out here doesn't believe in Xmas and doesn't want lights. I told the guy I'm not religious but still like the lights up. The maintenance guy said I could put them wherever and I will. I also have one of the lights I sent up here that shows different scenes on the house, will see how I can do that.
Ok, need to fix my breakfast, DD has eaten and bathed. She is snuggly warm in her room, listening and watching the fireplace scene on her telly. I like those too. She isn't going to the grocer with me today, will go in about an hour or so, need to finish in here.
I calculated my electric bill from the kwh's used so far and used the highest rate so looks like around $180. Don't think that is too bad, can live with it. I know the first month here it was over $330 and wasn't that warm, they told me it would be half and I have it 74 during the day and 73 at night. Wrapping the metal ductwork where the insulation had deteriorated likely helped a lot. So that's for everything since its total electric here.
I have antibiotics for my bronchitis?? and they are 500mg's twice a day, its already knocking the bronchitis with my inhaler too. Is breaking up the mucous so I'm not wheezing like I was, it gets so bad it squeaks in there. I usually know what I need and I worry that up here I may have to go to the ER to get treated. They told son the reason such long appointment times is because of a doctor shortage here. With all the crazy laws in the red states, I think that will change.
Ok, time for me to eat something.

I definitely just called my mother to rant about that Indian woman coworker. she's been on all my calls all day, talking over people, arguing with anyone that doesn't provide the answers she wants, and has answered (incorrectly) questions addressed to me in email chains. just please go away, so my blood pressure can return to normal? that big huge deviation from last week is messy, b/c of timing related to corporate mergers. I'm hoping to not be too specific, and ask that anyone that may figure it all out keep it to themselves. TIA! the contract manufacturing (CMO) site was divested from Company A on X date. a week later, the rest of Company A was purchased by my current employer. I started at current employer 2wks after that. Indian Woman (IW) came along from Company A. so, records are all over the map as to who owns official copies of manufacturing and quality records based on timing. this particular issue happened before X date, and IW suggested that the team look up the records on the original installation of the problem equipment. I chimed in to say that any records we would still have on that wouldn't be recorded as a CMO change control b/c at that time, the site was still part of Company A.....whose quality system we're still using. she argued with me about the dates until I said "excuse me, site was divested on X, and I started at current employer 3wks later. Yes, I'm absolutely sure of these dates, feel free to look that up." you could have heard a pin drop on the call. this morning, she sends me a "reminder" to approve something that had come in about a half hour before....wiping out the alert I'd set up for the incoming request from a different site, as hers was the most recent in that thread. last week, I yelled at my phone - would you let the woman answer your damn question?! this morning, I actually sent a response that included "Please allow me to sort through my inbox for requests, additional messages and reminders for things that literally just came in do nothing except clog up the works and slow me down." do I expect anything to change? not really. I just wish she'd fucking go away and not bother me, though. thanks for listening to my rant. I'm going to go finish up the couple of things I have to get done today, and close this laptop down til Tuesday Thursday morning. ETA: jeez....I'm definitely done for today.

Well house is straightened now I need to get ready. I sure could take a nap and I invited the kids over for dinner. Now wishing I had not, oh well, it will be ok. I need to cook us some decent food anyway.
I made some Russian tea, yuck, don't like the one with rose hips, so made one with raspberry, this one is good. The rose hips taste to much like perfume to me.
I had 4 strips of bacon, 2 scrambed eggs, and 2 sourdough english muffins with butter. Good!
Tonight fixing fried cod and home made fries, maybe some baked beans. May buy some ready made cole slaw, home is better but it will do today. And of course brown bread of some kind.
Need to shorten the pants I bought to wear to the ballet, never had to shorten pants in my life, usually buy tall. I got a pair of black jean dress pants too in long and they are fine. They were $27 at Walmart, jeez.
