We’re home from the hospital. DH has a severely blocked artery and will need a stent. So far it’s scheduled for December 21st. I was hoping it would be sooner as we were supposed to be visiting family in Georgia this weekend, but it looks like we’re going to be missing the family Christmas party. DH is feeling fine as long as he doesn’t exercise or exert himself. Now I just need to keep an eye on him as he won’t stop. I'm sorry about the missed family trip, but glad they got a clear diagnosis and have scheduled the procedure. I think the stent will make a world of difference in his comfort and health

I have to brag on DH and that sounds weird. Because of his significant hearing loss, phone conversations are very hard for him and I normally handle issues like cable and internet outages. However, last night while I was at my meeting, the TV and internet went out. After trying the usual reboot, reset etc. DH was forced to call ATT. He had to scrounge around in the office and locate the account number, passcode, password, etc. which he did. He talked to 2 different service reps that he said were quite helpful, crawled around unplugging and plugging, holding various buttons down for 10 seconds, and all that drill. Eventually service was restored and he proceeded to watch TV. He was justifiably proud of himself and it was actually a confidence booster for him and a comfort for me as he has found a phone setting that offers both volume and clarity. I'll feel much better when I'm away knowing he can converse in an emergency.
I've now typed up a complete ATT cheat sheet with contact phone #, account #, passcode, password, and security questions and it's under the TV receiver box

Sorry about the trip but the most important thing is for the stent to be placed. Don't want problems on the trip. The 21st is next week so sounds like they are getting him in as quickly as possible.

Especially the time when the newspaper was still outside his door.

The work is finished in the basement, and as soon as we move some of the stuff we piled in the living room back into the basement, we'll be able to set up our Christmas tree.
Well, it never fails that I choose the coldest day of the month to pick out a live Christmas tree, but at least it's not below zero today, however it IS below freezing. DS & I picked out a balsam tree (this one smells REALLY good) and it's now sitting in the garage. We should be able to set it up tomorrow on DH's day off, but even if it's in the garage for several days, it should be just fine. Yes, we're one of those families that tend to set up our tree late, but we keep it up until the New Year.

Out of all the calls and texts I’ve received today, guess who still hasn’t told me Happy Birthday. I’m not upset, just noted.
It’s been a very lazy day for me. I wanted to be lazy, so that’s what I did.

Oh Lord, ATT is back because the service is coming and going faster than the clients at a hot sheet motel. They have diagnosed damage within 300 hundred feet of our house, and suspect squirrels have been chewing on their lines. Yeah, you folks use a soy-based coating and they think it's dinner - duh!

My local station is selling regular for $2.49 on credit card - lowest I've seen in quite a while

Well house is straightened now I need to get ready. I sure could take a nap and I invited the kids over for dinner. Now wishing I had not, oh well, it will be ok. I need to cook us some decent food anyway. I made some Russian tea, yuck, don't like the one with rose hips, so made one with raspberry, this one is good. The rose hips taste to much like perfume to me. I had 4 strips of bacon, 2 scrambed eggs, and 2 sourdough english muffins with butter. Good! Tonight fixing fried cod and home made fries, maybe some baked beans. May buy some ready made cole slaw, home is better but it will do today. And of course brown bread of some kind.Need to shorten the pants I bought to wear to the ballet, never had to shorten pants in my life, usually buy tall. I got a pair of black jean dress pants too in long and they are fine. They were $27 at Walmart, jeez. I've never heard of this brown bread but I looked it up and it sounds delicious. I'll look for it at the stores soon

No I'm not entitled to a break or even a lunch hour in Nebraska so she can tell me I'm not allowed to sit down.
Yes her and the director can tell any hiring manager they don't feel I'm promotion material and that's that even if I meet all the job requirements for a role.
That was the most asinine thing I've ever heard. So if you have a crappy manager you're career is over.
It's some consolation that NONE of my coworkers agree with her and on top of all the other crap is damn near starting a riot
We'll see what happens with the three I applied for then go from there.
Cause I'm done being the lab scapegoat.
Struggling with my depression. This is not where I thought I would be at 40. I feel like something is wrong with me.

Man, maybe this is menopause or something bc I am just unreasonably PO’d. Good news: DH volunteered to call the sped teacher tomorrow and yell at her. He’ll do a much more effective job than me at this stage, 50:50 chance I’d devolve into name calling

With my dad's severe hearing loss, I totally get you. It got to where he wasn't hearing the phone when it rang and I think each of us drove there several times thinking we were going to find him dead. Especially the time when the newspaper was still outside his door. The good thing is that when he synchs his phone to his aids, he gets a beep-beep in his ear rather than the phone ringing as mine does. The downside of that setting is that he finds speech streamed directly into his ear to be somewhat unclear, but he figured out how to switch to direct the call to speaker which comes in clearly and gave him a free hand for resetting stuff. Dad could barely handle a landline. I could have been given control of his hearing aids, but that would not have done any good. They never had a cell phone and the phone for the hard of hearing didn't give him enough volume.
