it didn't, but I found it by group name. thanks! my ancestors came to Maritime Canada before the migration, but stayed put in NB. I've got genealogical research done by a cousin (who's now a newspaper editor, this was his college thesis) that includes many branches besides ours off the tree that came from the original guy that came from France in the 1600s. does your DH's fam have all that historical stuff from the migration? this stuff fascinates me, but I haven't needed to find any more info b/c my cousin basically handed it to the rest of us. lol... No, nothing really factual - just handed-down stuff which is probably more than a little embellished if you know what I mean. His mother and aunts did not go past elementary school in education, and that was more schooling than those who came before them. We really never got to spend much time with the aunts or know them well as they were more comfortable with Cajun French than English. His mother was about the only one of that generation who left Louisiana because she married an Army man and lived across the country and in Japan with him.

My therapy session today ended up being kind of intense. For some reason, when she said something again about Mister and I having a session together, I could feel the effects of stress flooding my body. It’s too bad that I’m not always that in tune, to know exactly what is causing me so much stress. I stopped her and told her that my body was banging on alarm bells, then tears started flowing. After I grabbed a tissue, I told her to please ignore the tears and let’s just keep going. I didn’t want to waste my session time, focused on my tears.
Idk why I reacted like that, but I felt like it was important for me to tell her, so maybe she could help me figure it out. I do know that I don’t really want to use my sessions to work on relationship shit, I want to focus on me and my issues. She said she would like for me to be able to walk and chew gum. I said yeah, I can, but I don’t want to right now.
Before and after that, she was asking me questions that I had a hard time answering, even though they weren’t really hard questions. I told her every time she asked me something I had difficulty answering, and said I guess I have some homework, because I wrote those questions down for me to think about. So I have a lot of homework lol.
My appointment ran over by about 40 minutes, I guess she felt like she needed to make sure I was okay before we ended it. She told me several times that even though she will be on vacation next week, if I need her, do not hesitate to send her a message. If I need her, an hour out of a day won’t ruin her whole vacation.

Well, the delivery companies have done their handoff again. I was waiting for a package from UPS today, and USPS delivered it. The UPS website doesn't even show that it was delivered yet.

Never heard of that store, Andi, but I just did a quick search on Amazon and they have that jersey in all sizes for $49. Maybe check it out there? They're some generic thing someone put together. It's not the Nike one with the embroidery. Ah, sorry about that. I don’t know enough about sports jerseys to do more than a generic search. Good luck, hope you find it!

I am just so glad to be home! And I slept really well. I feel better today, then I have in 2 months. I'm hardly coughing, which is fabulous! This antibiotic must finally be working. YAY! I haven't heard from DD2, Or her husband. And I don't plan on contacting them. I'm really tired of their better than everyone else attitude. According to her husband, they don't need ANYONE else, for anything. Because I have pneumonia, I have an good excuse for not reaching out to them. IMO. They're having an apt inspection tomorrow and I had an appointment scheduled, to renew my lease, but I don't feel well enough to do either. So they are skipping my inspection and rescheduling my lease appt. That works for me. Sometimes, life just sucks. Unfortunately for me, it sucks at Christmas, this year. I don't want to play anymore. But at least I'm home! So glad you are back home. Now take care of you and get well. That is an order from NNP. Yes, ma'am! 👍 (I know you have fire and freezer access!) 😉😁 Today, Dr suggested I go to ER for full medical work up. Said she thinks I was/am dehydrated. I told her, I'm doing better now. 😊 Heard from DD2 today. Like nothing happened.

I've been at all points on the car scale, so to speak. When DH and I married, he owned a 67 Vet which spent more time in the shop than at home, and cost a lot to maintain. As he was authorized to use (and take home) an employer-owned vehicle and we worked together, that was okay for awhile. But we could not use the employer-provided vehicle other than to and from work, so for daytime doctor appointments, nights and weekends we were royally screwed if the Vet was in the shop. It quickly became apparent that this car was not compatible with marriage, saving for a house, and having a life. We moved on, first to a vintage green something we bought for cheap from his parents. As income allowed, we moved up a notch or two. My personal favorite vehicle was his dad's very old, high-mileage, POS small pickup truck which I drove until literally the floorboards rusted through.
During most of our working years, we had to remain modest in car acquisitions because public officials were subject to intense scrutiny and criticism if taxpayers saw them driving anything approaching upscale. So we happily cycled through Nissan trucks, Honda sedans, a Beetle, and such.
After retirement we both gave his prior employment the proverbial single-finger salute and indulged in cars, getting new ones every couple of years. He had a couple of Cadillacs, a Mini Cooper, a Chrysler something, and now another Beetle. After a series of pickups, I fell in love with the Kia Soul and bought three in a row. Then I wanted a slightly larger vehicle and bought a Subaru Imprezza in 2018 which I loath. He still hasn't decided on his next car. I truly want a Land Rover but I'm not stupid enough to put that in my driveway or even to drive it on our streets because it's a target, pure and simple.
I've just never had the option not to maintain reliable transportation for myself and, therefore, provide for myself financially.

I am spent. Up at 2am to drive to the airport in a surprise snow storm. 8 hours between driving and flying (including deicing the wings), plus another 4 hours of work. I'm done.
I do appreciate the MA state policeman who nabbed me for doing 81 in a 65, I was the last in the line making me an easy target, but once he knew where I was headed and was in a rental he let me go with a warning. So I guess I have a reason to❤️ MA. I will be here until Thursday morning. Working on site for 12 hours for the next 2 days.

I'm sorry, she's turned into someone really shitty. you don't deserve the shit you put up with. I hope you can stick to the boundaries you've started to set lately. it's really going to be great for your own mental health to separate yourself from them. I know you want to see your grandkids, but if they are being raised in that house, they will eventually come to see you as the 'free help' that their parents already do. and that's child abuse IMHO.

Yes, I am in western Mass. The surprise snowstorm was in the DMV on my way to BWI. In Western Mass it has been flooding which is more scary to me. I'll be back mid January too, and hopefully during baseball season. As an Orioles fan I have to hate the Red Sox, but Fenway Park needs to be seen.

Well, my Discover card can rest easy. She didn't need any teeth pulled. She just has a weird mouth due to congenital issues, so she got a very thorough cleaning under anesthesia. I really should go to the liquor store, not for me!, but I don't feel like it. I need to do some friggin' Christmas shopping. I need to go to Target too but, again, don't feel like it. Oy Hi, empress! Other than the cat, work and discover card, I am in the same situation. Hacking up both lungs, want/need to go to the liquor store (but I'm not today) and I haven't started shopping yet. I don't think a 3 & 5 year old are going to understand, when grandma says she'll give them Christmas presents later. And this g-ma can't begin to compete with their other g-ma, or their g-pa, when it comes to spending on gifts. But this g-ma is 100% real and has no debt, which can't be said for the others. It is, what it is.

Back from the grocery store. It wasn’t too bad of a trip, but it was still a trip out for celery. There will be another when I figure out what I need to take to the potluck for an appetizer. I’m just tempted to go to the local Thai place and get 6 orders of chicken satay to go. I like the prawn rolls better, but those are best eaten on delivery.

I reached out to HR about the break bullshit and about the supposed rules regarding advancing.
They want to talk to me. Highly doubt anything will come of it but hopefully I'll get enough information I can decide if I should even bother with internal jobs or put that effort into leaving.
Meanwhile another micro job opened up so we'll try again. Reading the straight requirements I'm actually over qualified. Wish I knew what that "vision" was last time.

Yeah. Not my first choice. And you need to do what you need to do. Some savvy entrepreneurs here doubled up - mobile IV rehydration and some sort of mask-delivered oxygen therapy too. Supposedly makes you feel like a super human in short order, but I think your credit card will feel a little sick. They do that here, too. DD2 and her husband had it done last spring, or early summer. They said it was fabulous! But it was spendy, to get the works and took a couple hours. I would get it, rather than go to the ER, if I could afford it and needed it, like the other night. But I doubt they rush right over, at 1AM and pick you up off the floor. 🙄

Kiddo got in trouble at school today. He got out of his seat to go over to one of his classmates seat. He claims he was helping his classmate with something he/she didn’t understand. Which goes back to me telling him to mind his own business and let his teacher handle her classroom and his classmates. He seems to think he can just do whatever he wants to do, regardless of what adults say for him to do.
Mister is all kind of bent out of shape, because Kiddo called him 3 times yesterday, even though he’s not supposed to have his phone. He was calling from his Grandmother’s phone, which in his Mom’s mind makes it okay I guess. It wasn’t HIS phone that he was able to use. Then today, she was fussing to Mister that Kiddo was yelling at the tv last night, watching a football game. Mister said “he was watching tv”, and she said “just for a minute, after the day we had around here yesterday”.
Mister told her that it does no good to restrict his access to stuff over here, if he can just go home and “get out of jail”. He told her she HAS to pay attention to him and enforce whatever restrictions are in place for him. I’m not sure why that’s so hard for her to do. Well, for one thing, she gets caught up gossiping on the phone with her friends, and Kiddo does whatever he wants during those times. I know that happens. And when he was here over the weekend, it was more work without him being able to entertain himself with gadgets and tv, but good parenting requires work, so just deal, with it. Yeah, he talked even more than normal (who thought that was even possible?!) and we interacted with him more, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. The interacting, not so much the even more excessive talking lol. I’m old school and don’t think it’s good for children to have their face in a screen all day every day anyway, even if it does make things easier for the parents to let screens babysit their children the entire time they are home and awake. That may be an unpopular opinion these days, but I believe it to be true, and won’t apologize for it.
I’m not sure what, if anything, I can do to try to help Kiddo. The day after he and I talked about the things that happened at school last week, I asked him to tell me one thing he remembered from our conversation, that can help him stay out of trouble. He told me one thing, and it was accurate, so I told him good job, just try to remember it when he’s at school. I didn’t want to turn it into a whole ‘nother conversation he had to endure, so I was good with him just telling me one thing he remembered, and we moved on. Now, idk if that was wrong or right, since that one thing wasn’t one of the things that could’ve kept him out of trouble today lol.
But we did discuss things that could’ve kept him from getting in trouble today. I just don’t know if it would’ve done much good for me to keep having endless discussions about it all. I want him to continue being willing to have conversations with me, like we did Friday evening, and for him to not feel like “here we go with this again”, and not participate, or hear me.
I’m not sure how else I can go about trying to help him, besides what I’ve been doing. Any suggestions? Besides trying to make Mister try to get custody of him. That is out of my control. I am open to suggestions for what I can do that is within MY control.

And speaking of Mister’s children, I asked him this evening what’s going on with YD. She has gotten to the point of what I feel is rude. Idk if it’s a Southern manners thing or just manners period, but imo, it’s just good manners to greet people when you come home, even if it’s your home too. Lately, when I run into her in the house, she won’t say hi or good morning, unless I say it first. In the past, when she’s walked past me leaving the house, I would say bye and be safe, just like I say to my own children.
Today, just to make sure it wasn’t my imagination, I did not offer a greeting or goodbye first, just to see what she would do. And what she did was pretend I was invisible.
Mister says she is feeling herself and has been rude and/or had an attitude with him too. I told him that I haven’t done anything to her, and whatever they have going on between them, if anything, has nothing to do with me, because I have always been polite and cordial to his daughters, even when we were having issues.
So now he is on notice and shouldn’t be surprised when I address the fact that I expect people to at least be polite in my home, if she gets huffy about it. Don’t walk past me as if I’m not even there, without even saying hey or good morning/afternoon. To me, that is just basic manners…. my own children and grandchildren better NOT refuse to offer Mister some kind of greeting and blatantly ignore his presence, in his own home.

So my "adopted" 9yo twins (mom is very good friend and single mom) always get way too much stuff from others at Xmas so years ago I got ahead of that and I buy them advent calendars. No Xmas gift in my case but the anticipation and fun they have with through those calendars is great. Maybe you can do something like that in the future and add a mani/ pedi other gift card for the day proper.

I did that for Saturday's party, and. it was way easier than schlepping a hot dish an hour away from home and having to reheat. take the opportunity to find some oddball appetizer you like and make that one option. one of the pizzas I brought is a garlicky white pizza that is topped with a fully dressed chicken Caesar salad. the handful of times I've shown up to this house with that, it's one of the first things wiped out.

Best solution for a hangover too. I just always guzzled bottles of water. Gatorade, an Egg McMuffin, and 4 advil. Pedialyte, pizza, and pain relievers!

Went to the mall to pick up my Bath & Body Works order, thanks to Swamp letting me know about the $4.95 sale. I only spent $15.75, lol. Then went to Trader Joe's to stock up on some freezer faves and to make sure husband has something easy to eat eat while I'm away. I have council tomorrow, leave for two nights, then we have a party Friday night, so no need to go "real" grocery shopping this week. When I got home a friend needed help doing a covert photoshoot at Target, so obviously I helped him with his mission.

On the car issue, I have owned:
1970 Dodge Challenger first car and totally ridiculous to buy a sports car so I sold it and bought a Toyota, probably 1975. Drove it over 100,000 miles before it started costing too much to fix it. I paid $2000 for that car.
Next was another mistake. A Ford Escort because I was spending so much time in Eastern Colorado and I was afraid I couldn't get a foreign car fixed if I needed too. The Escort would just stop for no reason. On the highway, in town, etc. and nobody could figure out a reason.
So I traded that car in and bought a gently used Honda Civic wagon. Best car I ever had. Drove that car about 14 years. Very reliable. I really hated when it started costing me too much.
Next was a Honda Fit. I did like that car and had it 19 years. The roads here were worse to drive in a stick than any road I was on in Colorado.
Now the Subaru, which is also a very utilitarian car. I hope this will be the last car I ever by.
I look for cars with good reputations for longevity. With the exception of the Escort, that has been true.
The Challenger totally was I've got a job and I can buy a car. All of my friends were driving sports cars, so I wanted one of those. Very stupid idea. Used to drive it on audits and it was a bear to get out of wearing hose and skirts.

FWIW, Dh and I had a session together, when I was seeing therapist #1 after we got married. DH didn't like it and felt ganged up on. It was dumb as his addiction was escalating. After DH got sober the first time, the therapists suggested that we could have a session together. It would have been a foursome-DH, myself, and our respective therapists together. I declined. I also would ask if this was considered couples therapy, if you are running this through insurance. My insurance does not cover couples therapy. Which, would be useful for us to have now, but we neither have the time nor the money.

On the car issue, I have owned: 1970 Dodge Challenger first car and totally ridiculous to buy a sports car so I sold it and bought a Toyota, probably 1975. Oh hey, it's my car trajectory! I bought a 1999 Honda Civic in 2003 after my stepmom's mom died (SM was the executor of her estate and sold the car to me for cheap). Drove the Civic until I bought my 2013 Honda Fit, which I still drive and love, and it has just under 53,000 miles. Husband took over the 1999 Civic and drove that until we bought his 2018 Honda Fit (I swear it wasn't planned to have the same car!). Whenever I replace my Fit however many years down the road, we plan on getting a Subaru. Probably an Impreza hatchback because I like smaller cars.

I am messing up, I fed little guy some cookies and let him have white bread. I got a lecture on how bad American white bread, is, I'm aware of that. But the few days a year I am around will not ruin the kids life. Son actually called to tell me DIL was dropping off little guy to go to belly dancing class and not to give him big white bread sandwiches for dinner. Well, so feed him yourself, good grief. I told son, no more than I see him I doubt I'm going to hurt him with my food. I understand white bread is deconstructed and than loaded with vitamins. If it's that concerning feed him yourself or send food. It hit me wrong. Than she drops him off and didn't even come in. I notice she is in good moods until she gets with a bunch of her russian friends and than she gets irritable with people.
I told son, don't worry will be pleasant I'm not starting anything. She will likely jump all over me if she is in one of those moods. Grandson did not want veggie soup and picked out a can of spaghetti and meat balls, DD likes. I let him have it, he drank a glass of water with it.
Will write more later, going to play a game with grandson.
I have a real cough in my chest too, thankful for having an inhaler with me.

I just got home from my 6:30 board meeting. Two bottles of water, 3 cough drops and 2 candy canes. It was very interesting with crazy folks being crazy, stupid people being stupid, and the usual losers no showing. Overall, 95% of us had fun despite, or perhaps because of, lots of shouting, arm waving, paper throwing, and table slapping. The directors-elect who take office in January just sort of sat there with stunned expressions because we sort of alternated between really intense discussions of highly technical legalities and throwing candy canes and chocolate kisses across the room at one another.
The funniest part was when we discussed the slogan for this year's membership campaign. Suggestions included Blanktown, Get Over It - Blanktown, Get With It - Blanktown, It's Home - Blanktown, It's a Homie Thing and Blanktown, You Still Live There? And then we had to divide 6600 homes among 6 people to judge the Christmas decoration contest. One team of judges will make their rounds with spiked cocoa and enhanced brownies-I can't wait to see their photos.

I have been having something like bronchitis for a few weeks, I'm not sick with it, but I cough and sometimes cough something up. Not the norm for me. I have had to use my inhaler for several nights or I would be in trouble at night. Don't like it and if home by now would have gone to doc this week as it has gotten worse. I hope its nothing anyone can catch. I have to cough really deep to clear it so don't like that.
Grandson and I played Monopoly till we both got tired. I'm glad he was ready to quit also. I brought a stool in here and could sit much better on that, the hip did good.
Well so far grandson has had water, spaghetti meat balls, an orange, a banana, wanted a sandwich I told him I can't his mom didn't want him to eat white bread, he wanted to know what was wrong with it. I told him its deconstructed and has the minerals and vitamins added back in again I don't have any brown bread. She has some kind of sugary Korean or Russian treats she must have sent, she buys a lot of stuff I haven't heard of and he ate those. He said he was still hungry so he is having cheese with ham and crackers. DD can't eat the breads with any grains because of her diverticulitis, so will have to buy for him and I can but not tonight. He kept saying he was hungry and wanted a sandwich.. Talk about caught in the middle, I'm sure the crackers aren't any better. Of course he didn't want the veggie soup they sent the other night, I'm not in the mood right now either. Love their soup, just not hungry for it this week. Wow I'm tired tonight.
He said he was good in school today. He wants to come to grandmas, so might be an incentive.
I'm tired tonight, not sure why, might be the coughing. I brought none of my cough syrup as it wasn't that bad when I came and didn't expect it to get worse.
I don't think he got enough exercise today as he is really antsy tonight. I have seen him worse, but also better.
He said he finally got full, so he should be ok, he is finally watching the DIY science guy and looks to me like he is about ready to dose off. He said bedtime is 9 during the week and its 8:15, I don't know how late that lasts.
Back to my crossword puzzle for awhile.
Today got gifts wrapped, tomorrow putting out lights if its not real cold and raining.
