Opti, also consider there are now businesses that specialize in iv rehydration. Some are mobile. It's pricy, at $200 in my neck of the woods. And something I would consider to keep my job. Really? I think I'd rather stick to drinking Pedialyte and I hate that stuff. Mobile IV rehydration. Interesting. Best solution for a hangover too. I just always guzzled bottles of water.

Ugh! I’ve gotta make a grocery run today. I was hoping to not, but the pan of lasagna didn’t make it that long.

I keep a couple tiny bottles on a door shelf in my fridge, for when my blood sugar crashes after I forget to eat most of the day. it also works well for a hangover, paired with a couple Advil.

Well, my Discover card can rest easy. She didn't need any teeth pulled. She just has a weird mouth due to congenital issues, so she got a very thorough cleaning under anesthesia. I really should go to the liquor store, not for me!, but I don't feel like it. I need to do some friggin' Christmas shopping. I need to go to Target too but, again, don't feel like it. Oy I'm happy for both kitty and your Discover card that no teeth needed to be pulled.

I am a healthy eater. I pretty much have to be, I am on a low fodmap diet, if I deviate, I have IBS-d issues. So today, I ate a bagel, a tangerine, a banana, an apple and two small sleeves of ritz crackers. I could keep grazing. I do have this at my desk: I have no desire to open it, bc I don’t really eat a lot of sweets. The little bottle is Vanilla Extract. Looks like a christmas coffee tumbler, a jar candle and miscellaneous cookies & candy. So, I will open it when I get home & keep some of it.

Former supervisor paid something like 38K for an Audi that was maybe 2 years old. He had a ton of trouble with it, lots of expensive repairs including I believe a blown engine…sold it a couple of years later for 2K (!) and bought a Honda instead. I’m enjoying my inherited bmw but it’s definitely higher maintenance than my beloved 2005 Focus wagon, and I might enjoy it less were I not married to a frighteningly competent person with a mechanical inclination and well equipped garage. You really have to know what it is and your intentions with the car. Sounds like former supervisor did not understand it was an Audi, not a Honda, and not even a Cadillac. You have to be way more careful and frankly blowing out an engine sounds like a stupid him thing. Not the car. When I was at big Pharma we were under major pressure as yet another merger was in the works which needed to be approved by the federal government. I bought my BMW during my time there because I could and also because a deer chose to take out my Honda Accord LXI one night. A coworker, thankfully never my supervisor, decided to buy an Audi RS after I had had my BMW for awhile. When the first snow came, and it was less than an inch, he sped out of the parking lot and almost crashed. I don't remember if I talked to him directly or just made it known that duh, you should have expected that. He picked the fastest sportiest A3 which is outfitted with summer tires. Really good summer tires that adhere to asphalt especially if you race it. You should never ever drive a sports sedan with high end summer tires in any snow or even below freezing and expect it to work out well. This is why I really want to create a business where Opti explains cars and what they really are, not what the commercials are trying to sell you. BMWs and Audis are not for everyone. I loved my baby and I will miss it. The biggest reason I will miss it is I don't know if I will get the opportunity to drive or own in that price class again. I loved it, but honestly I would want maybe three cars min for me, cuz Opti. A daily driver, which can be a BMW or whatnot, but then you need to drive it that way. Preferably at 50% or less of its true capabilities. Garage it as well, do maintenance it could last you thirty years or more if you don't drive it too hard and take care of it. If G blesses my 11 yr old Audi SUV pick as reliable enough, I will drive it in that 50% or below range. I have been doing that for more than 5 years with the BMW as it failed, and I did not have the money to fix it. Does it really matter? A car is a car, it's needed to get you from point A to point B. I like cool cars too, and I really want a corvette. I can afford it. However, i don't want the hassle that goes with maintainingg high performance cars, so a Honda Piloit it is. Your life is stressful enough. Don't complicate it.

One of my friends started out her career as an ER nurse. She would have a resident at her hospital give her an IV to get rid of hangovers. You know, 20 and fresh out of nursing school, you can do stuff like that.

Yesterday I did some christmas shopping with DD.
Bath and Body Works had an amazing sale, $4.95 for all their "body care products" like body creme, lotion, body wash, body spray.
I spent like $130. Gifts for my coworkers are taken care of.
ETA: Included in that is DD's friends, she paid me back the $20. I also bought some body wash for DH. He likes the "beachy" smelling ones for after manual labor.

Jerseyguy got out of hospital Friday So now there are multiple calls about how is he doing. Ok thanks but give me a break. Too many services some of which drone on and on without specifics. I ended one when she just kept repeating we’re here to help. Ok thanks goodby So she leaves a voicemail we got disconnected before I could wish you well and say goodbye. I have little to no patience with this. Please call back - no!

The usual glamour show of daily life - showers, breakfast, touch of cleaning, filled bird feeders, ran through Aldi and lunch. Author asked me to email him all 89 chapters of the Western novel AGAIN.
Tonight's our board meeting and I'm already over it. A revised confidentiality policy is being proposed and one director said he's worked for major corporations and has never seen anything so detailed. He actually wrote in an email that the only thing that should be confidential is details of a property owner's covenant violations. Based on his belief, employee SS #'s, an owner's divorce or bankruptcy, details of current contract pricing, details of crimes in the community - all of that would not be subject to confidentiality restrictions. If, during the course of helping a resident with some clean-up work at their home, we become aware of their declining health, we could give that to the "We Buy Ugly Houses" folks to send them a low-ball offer for the house. Or have our buddy with a nursing home offer them a good deal on assisted living. Or maybe our business pals could learn what we currently pay for mosquito control or security services so they have an edge in bidding. This guy is a Realtor and there's only about a million ways he could mis-use information.

Yep, little guy is always wanting to stay up late and Sat night I let him. He went to bed and never heard a peek out of him, LOL! One time won't kill him. I have to play Monopoly again with him, he likes it, but back in school for now. Son and DIL are here at the house He had to take his truck in to get the brakes done so they brought breakfast and are here. He looked at my computer and got it going again, so don't have to buy one now. It's been down and I thought done twice but got it going again so a lease on life again. It's 48 out and gloomy today but not raining, we are nice and warm in here. Not going anyplace or doing anything today so all is well. I hope to get my Christmas bulbs and things for my tree this week, I mailed them here. I hate to buy more as I have so many at home. As far as cars we have nice ones and don't have a lot of trouble or expense. We maintain them. Right now hubs has a 2020 Ford F-150 bought new, nice truck only thing he has done is oil changes and finally a new set of tires. I have a 2020 Buck Envision and we like it, bought used, it was gone over at a dealership up here said nothing wrong with it. And a 2018 Chrysler 300, bought used as a program car with 15000 miles on it and new car warranty. All our cars are fine and run well. I had trouble with a tire sensor and thought my dash screen was done, hubs found out it was just loose wires. I had a new Cadiallac with all kinds of issues, happy with the 2 I have. They weren't high dollar, $22k for my cars, but about $45k for his truck. One way to make monopoly faster is to deal out all the properties at the beginning. We used to do that when playing with younger siblings and shorter attn spans.

Mobile IVs are popping up here and some include vitamins. Keeping it in mind as a possible way to head off my Seasonal Affective Disorder if it starts. The money would be worth it if it helped.

Some savvy entrepreneurs here doubled up - mobile IV rehydration and some sort of mask-delivered oxygen therapy too. Supposedly makes you feel like a super human in short order, but I think your credit card will feel a little sick.

I prefer Pedialyte over Gatorade. I can only drink so much Gatorade before I can't stomach the stuff. The Pedialyte I get is unflavored and I can drink that. I start with Gatorade until I can't do it any more.

I emailed my new found niece. We shall see what happens with that. She sounded very friendly in her message on Ancestry
She and her husband have tried to get her dad (my nephew) off drugs, but a person has to want to get off drugs or it doesn't work. He doesn't want to get off drugs.

I'll be Midwest blunt. I'm another one who usually doesn't respond to Opti.
I am under the impression you are not getting paid at the moment. If that is the case, how are you even considering any kind of car let alone a luxury car. Same for the key chain.
You need to get yourself back to work ASAP, even if it half days, and make some $$$$.
How do you pay your rent if you are as broke as you say you are?

I'm on a Cajun and Creole recipe FB page and I love it because those folks keep it real (and tasty!). They say things like "add a cup of the trinity", "throw a handful of salt meat in the pot", and "cook them beans for about another 4 hours 'til they break down".
And the fight over tomatoes or no tomatoes in gumbo is real, believe me.

I love the flavors of that style of cooking, and can't really fully indulge myself when I'm in NOLA. the seafood would literally kill me. I'd love to have access to well-loved recipes to make in my own kitchen. an aside - so much of Cajun cooking is based on Acadian cooking - where the Cajuns originated. I'm Acadian one rainy day I was in town before a cruise, a group of us went to the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (at the top of the Riverwalk downtown NOLA) and I was taking pics to send back to my dad. the first room in chronological order was the staple Acadian recipes they brought with them, including the chicken and dumplings soup I make all winter. it was fantastic to see the exhibits!

I never thought about Kohl's. I just looked and they don't have any Pacheco jerseys. Oh well. I'll just deal with it. I am going to exchange the Kelce one when the right size becomes available. Academy doesn't have a time limit on their returns as long as you have the receipt. If that jersey sits around until next season I can still return it. is it that much more expensive to just go to the official team store? I bought a not-so-common Slater jersey last off-season. it wasn't an "official with the sewn-on numbers" sort that run over $200, but I don't think I paid more than $100 for it. No, it's finding the size that's the issue. So I just went and searched Google for it. Has anyone ever ordered anything from elevermint? They have them and they're cheaper. elevermint.store/products/isiah-pacheco-10-kansas-city-chiefs-super-bowl-lvii-champions-3-stars-women-game-jersey-red?variant=1000011161631950

Here you go - www.facebook.com/groups/134917783385324/ It's called the Cajun and Creole Recipe Circle if the link doesn't work for some reason. DH's mother's family is from Louisiana and apparently some of them made the trek during the original Acadian migration, at least that's what some of the old ones claimed. That whole generation of the family is gone now

it didn't, but I found it by group name. thanks! my ancestors came to Maritime Canada before the migration, but stayed put in NB. I've got genealogical research done by a cousin (who's now a newspaper editor, this was his college thesis) that includes many branches besides ours off the tree that came from the original guy that came from France in the 1600s. does your DH's fam have all that historical stuff from the migration? this stuff fascinates me, but I haven't needed to find any more info b/c my cousin basically handed it to the rest of us. lol... I had a conversation about cars last week with my coworker. I was telling him about all the problems the T’s had with people trying to steal their cars. Coworker said people only buy those kinds of cars to impress other people anyway. He thinks any time somebody spends money on nice things, it’s to try to impress somebody else, and it really aggravates me. I like nice cars myself. To me, there’s a little more to it than just getting from point A to point B. But I also learned to be practical. I love the idea of retiring ASAP more than I love cars. So I still drive my old Honda. When Mister bought his 2016 Honda, I got new car fever sooooo bad. But I resisted temptation and kept driving my old Honda. I bought her new and she and I have been together for 20 years now. I will be sad when I have to replace her. Idk if I will be practical again or buy something I really, really want. I would like have at least one car that I really, really want, during my lifetime, whether it’s luxury or a sports car. I already have an impractical vehicle, my Jeep Wrangler. I really like it, but it burns a lot of gas, it’s tiny, and wouldn’t be very comfortable driving on a road trip. I like Audi’s but I doubt I’ll ever buy one. My dream car use to be a 700 series BMW, I doubt I’ll ever buy a BMW either. If I was willing to constantly spend a bunch of money on maintenance and repairs, like those cars tend to require, I’d rather buy a ‘68 Camaro instead. If I needed a car and my money was funny, I’d have to just get over myself and look for something reliable, even if that meant boring. Reliable means I can count on having transportation to chase money, so that maybe I can upgrade my car at some point, when I can afford to. I didn’t really like my Honda when I first bought it, but she grew on me. YM math says I couldn’t afford it when I bought it, but since that was already done when my financial shit hit the fan and I was close to paying it off, choosing to struggle to make the payments to keep it, turned out to be a good decision. I can say that now, in hindsight, because it has still been a reliable car with very few issues besides normal wear and tear, during all the years since. If I’d gotten rid of it back then, to get rid of the car payment, who knows what kind of car problems I would’ve had between then and now.
