I managed to split my lip open somehow, and my tshirt currently looks like a crime scene. I had no idea that it would bleed that much, that quickly, or take its sweet time closing up. so I'm not changing my shirt til I know my lip is all set. so, while I sit here with a cloth up to my face, I've got the Bruins/Red Wings game mirrored onto my TV from the phone, and I'm also watching a special on the 2008 Celtics (the Big 3 that finally brought home banner #17) on my tablet. I'd like to get back out with the pups to go walk around the development nearby, as the canal walk didn't last too long. Punk is going to need to ease into logging miles again after the break to let LD heal from surgery. but, I'm not leaving the house if the lip is still bleeding at all. it's already happened a couple times, I thought I was good, and then all of a sudden there's new drips on my shirt good thing this is just a junky Old Navy layering tee that doesn't ever go out in public on its own.

Grandson is 8 so much older but he is into square roots and such, I never knew about that till high school. Kids are picking up a lot of stuff from the electronic devices both good and bad.
DD's behavioral rep said after covid lots of kids are coming in with lack of language skills because they missed kindergarten and also socialization. We know about that.
Not much going on here, hubs and I have dozed off and on all day. we are watching a bunch of movies that must be D and F movies. One was so bad by the end we still couldn't figure what was going on. What a waste of a day, I should be sewing or something and just can't get myself motivated. I can make beautiful clothing and I'm doing nothing. I found the suit material, have some lining that will work for the jacket but I think its a bit to heavy for the slacks. I bet I have something suitable in my stash if I keep looking. I just need to get started once I do motivation kicks in. But right now I need to finish catching up my books and DD's stuff, don't want to do that either, LOL! Not sure what happened to me.
I did vacuum the office area while we were between movies. Next break will get the kitchen and rest of living room
I talked hubs into cooking the steaks outside instead of me. It's 46 out and wind blowing so its COLD out there. I will fix the baked potatoes and salad. Think I will stick some rolls in to bake, they may not be ready in time but we can eat them later if not. Even the kitties decided inside was better today.

I'm thinking of putting an ice bag on my arm to take some of the heat out of the shot. I'm sure it would feel better quickly.

Decided to take Gwen black Friday shopping. She is having a ball.
Since she's with me shopping for her is out so I am getting Abby done. Just need to hit Target.
Got the frame for Bob's gift half off at Hobby Lobby.
My favorite thrift store also having a 50% off the whole store sale. I went in looking for a Christmas quilt for my bed and I found one! For $5 since it was half off.
My favorite score of the day.
I need to do my favorite bookstore later in the month Abby wants Choose your own adventure books and I want to shop local for those.
I need to get Gwen's comforter off Amazon today it's down to $33. Then she's almost done.
I'm shopping for dad again this year too. I told him give me the cash whatever he wants to budget and I'll take care of it.

I think I still need a COVID booster. do you happen to know how long after an active case, that you're supposed to wait? I think I had the fall variant, but that's probably what the currently booster flavor is targeted for anyway.

I've got some shopping done for DH today. The local sports memorabilia store was having a 25% sale for Black Friday so I got one gift. After that I checked and the local running store was also running a sale. I was finally able to drag him in to get fitted.
We split a brick oven pizza and had a drink after shoe shopping.
Came back and rolled the dough balls and got a cake in the oven. We had no rolls at Thanksgiving. And I got cheated out of dessert due to my food allergies. I would have made some had I known they were buying store bought crap. I asked what was needed, I am known as the dessert person in the family. I don't know why soy flour is so damn popular all of the sudden.

Iykyk (I’ve never used that before.) heh, the only school I know that is that proud of themselves is THEEEE Ohio State University. isn't college football on Saturdays until the postseason, though? *said, as I'm sitting here watching the Boston Bruins traditional Black Friday matinee home game.

There was definitely a college game on at the bar when we had pizza and a drink. Traditionally it's Saturday but they move things all around to get those TV slots.

chiver78 Eek! I hope your lip seals up soon - that's a pain. Glad it wasn't on a special t-shirt.

DH went to a jeweler that is an authorized Tag dealer to get his watch repaired. 10 days for an estimate. I'm hoping it's not more than $300-$400.

We are doing great, rolls, almost done, baked potatoes, filet mignon steaks, salad, and all the toppings. The smells are wonderful. I went ahead and gave DD a bowl of salad, she was hungry. the rolls and steaks are going to come off right together.
I haven't used my roll proofing part of my stove much. Today we only had a couple of hours till dinner so I put it on high. Worked like a dream, rolls were raised just in time to bake. Love that thing, don't know why I thought it would get to hot.
And dinner was wonderful. We just cooked 2 steaks and 1 huge potato, plus salad, small quantity. We cut the potato in half and DD and I shared half. We are all full and happy stuffed little hoomans. ! There are some rolls that likely won't last the evening!

So, it's been 3 years since I mailed out things to charities. I have two boxes. One box has 14 hats. The other has 3 bibs 4 cowls 2 scarves 1 baby sleep sack 3 hats 17 dish/wash clothes There's more in the basement in my almost finished box. I'm pleased with the numbers. I'll be glad to get them in the mail tomorrow.

Leftovers night tonight. Turkey, gravy for both of us. DH is having the other half of the sweet potato (I have to cook it to mush for him, due to his tests Monday). I am having the green beans and the last of the compote.
I will make my turkey vegetable soup tomorrow after small biz Saturday shopping.

I have some chicken broth left over from yesterday's dressing, so tomorrow will be chicken noodle soup for dinner. Waste not, want not. Chicken broth, onion, celery, mixed veggies, egg noodles - good for a chilly evening.

I'm so over pet/house sitting. The dogs are good but I want to be at my own house. Doing this for 3 nights once or twice a month would be good though.

So it seems that DS might have food poisoning. Yesterday when we were texting while he was at his grandparents house, he said yes and his stomach wasn’t happy, they must’ve put laxatives in the food. DD just called me and said DS is really sick, he threw up “red stuff” this morning and his stomach is cramping really bad. She said my Grandbabies told her everybody had to use the bathroom after dinner yesterday, and after they said that, she thought back and in hindsight, everybody was wandering off to the bathroom, including her and the grandbabies. She said there were about 20 people there.
But she and the grandbabies don’t have diarrhea, just DS. DD is gone to get him some Tylenol for the cramps, is that okay for him to take? I tried to convince him to see if he can hold some Pedialyte or something down, he refused to even try it. DS rarely gets sick. My nerves are bad.

I had a piece of pumpkin pie for breakfast. I should get up and shower. We're going black Friday shopping soon. After this my wallet is closing for a while. I did get a bunch of deals though. Some things were needed and some were not. Lightweight. I had 3 slices for lunch Apparently nobody but me likes pumpkin pie so I must fulfill my destiny and finish it Woof. Man that was a lot of cooking. DS insisted on using the turkey neck for gravy and home-making the ice cream on top of everything else. Got everything done and schlepped over to find that it came as a total shock to the in laws that we were going to need plates and forks SIL really wanted to bring something so I asked her to bring OJ (for nonalcoholic drinks) and crackers…good thing those weren’t essential Anyway, dinner was yummy and well received; FIL was released from the hospital Wed and didn’t miss anything, and I was completely beat by the time we got home. On to Black Friday shopping! I’ll mail my YM card back here shortly Sadly it’s not even going overboard on fun Christmas stuff…mostly just boring necessities.

I hope your DS feels much better soon - food poisoning is no joke. No Tylenol IMHO - too risky for the stomach and liver. Pedialyte is essential to prevent dehydration if he's going at both ends. As awful as the cramps, vomiting and diahhrea are, it's the body's way to get rid of the poison it took in.

Pedialyte,Gatorade, those will help keep him hydrated if hes still puking. don't stress yourself out just yet. the other will stop when he's got nothing left to expel. Tylenol is fine, unless he drinks a lot. acetaminophen doesn't play well that way. I hope he feels better by the am. hugs, Momma.

One said no Tylenol, the other said Tylenol is okay.
He won’t drink Pedialyte or Gatorade, I suggested both.

He won’t drink Pedialyte or Gatorade, I suggested both. if he's not a big drinker, Tylenol is fine. andi can vouch, we drink a lot more than average around here, so it's a valid question here. if he won't drink Pedialyte or Gatorade, look for "Mott's for Tots" label apple juice. it's lower overall sugar than typical apple juice, but the natural sugars in AJ absorb quicker than other juices. good luck...

No, he doesn’t drink a lot. I called DD and told her to get some Gatorade just in case he feels like drinking it later. Thank you.

Immodium will stop diarrhea. I had it on a trip and we stopped at a truck stop, the clerk told me about it. It's our go to from than on, it stops it. But do you want to if its really food poisoning.
We are back to watching Gotham, we are on the last year. It was a 5 year show and brutal, sure not something I would let impressionable kids watch. Never saw so many stabbings and abuse.
Bath time for me. It's been dark out since about 5:30, awful.

It might be gross, but it’s nature’s way of correcting itself. You DO want to continue to drink as much as possible. So Gatorade and the like are important to keep hydrated.

We are back from Vancouver, and as usual the dim sum was fabulous. I think my niece is now a convert. We hav3 also ruined egg rolls for her for any other restaurant, as after these others are going to be horrible.
The border was pretty ugly, especially needing to go through the non NEXUS lanes. We drove to the border crossing in Lynden to avoid a 90 min wait on the way back.

I had leftover collards for dinner tonight. My DIL makes them unlike anyone I have ever known. They have 2 or 3 kinds of beans with them (think kidney beans, cannelini beans, etc.), smoked sausage, and some other stuff. She said it is actually a soup recipe, and I believe it. There was plenty of broth so that's how I ate it.
Yum!
