I need to go to the store to buy carrots, parsnips, fresh dill and parsley. I'm going to make turkey soup from the carcass. Simon never even got any. Every time I called him to come get a Thanksgiving meal to take home, he said he can't even think about turkey right now, there's too much crap going on at home, with his friend's death and planning a memorial, and the SWAT team breaking the door down to taze Melody's son, and the fear of what's going to happen when he comes home I'm stuck with about 5 pounds of mashed potatoes that I don't know what to do with, and the turkey has been eaten to the bone.

Treats are made. Fish has changed water. Most bills are paid. The boyfriend is coming over at 2 today, so I'll run one errand and then spend the rest of the time doing chores, etc until 2. Then, I hope I can rest.
What kind of fish? Goldfish. Won at a fair.

Bread is in the oven. All of my projects are in the room with the kids. I do not want to bother them. And I need something to keep my hands busy. I can watch some tv in the other room and stitch/relax.
I could go in our game/craft closet, which would be less bothersome. I also risk opening the door and being eaten alive. This is a problem, indeed.

I had a friend come over for turkey. I set the table with candles, crystal glasses and sterling silverware. As soon as she sat down she started sneezing and choking. Apparently, she's allergic to something in my house. Maybe the sparkling wine, or the new carpet or my cat. I told her I won't be offended if she eats and runs. She was in pretty bad shape. So, she left right after eating. Sorry about your friend sneezing. Your table setting sounds really lovely.

Our pet shops don't even sell goldfish, unless you can prove you have an aquarium big enough, with water filters, etc. I wanted to buy 2 goldfish, and when I told them I have a big bowl, they refused to sell me them. That's how I ended up with Dwayne the Siamese Fighting Fish. They're the only ones who can live in bowls.

DH cracks me up sometimes. Yesterday he discovered the Mexican soft drink brand Jarritos and is happily exploring all the flavors - so far he gone through lime, guava and mango. We've only lived in Texas forever but he never noticed it in all the stores. He thinks the old-time skinny glass bottles are really cool. He discovered Stella Artois beer back in June on our cruise so this is a landmark year for him

When my friend left, she came back and knocked on the door. "There's an old guy lying on the stairs.' It was Bill, my neighbour. He was carrying heavy groceries and collapsed. He's getting chemo and is very weak. We helped him up, and took him and his bags to his apartment. He didn't want an an ambulance, even though it's free. I'll give him some soup. He loves my soups.

I have earned getting the rest of the day off. Got the pigs cleaned, bathroom cleaned, washed the front of kitchen cabinets. Got the missy's present for a birthday party. Got fabric to finish her dollie quilt. I'll make breads for breakfast, and then I think I'm done. I don't usually wash my pigs because they just roll in the mud afterwards.

Husband and I went on our annual trip to the Endless Mountains (top of PA, north of the Poconos) with friends this weekend. It ended up just being a quick Friday to Sunday trip instead of a long weekend, but still every bit needed for me to get away from our house. It rained all day yesterday, which did not keep us from the wine festival we had tickets for. Had to skip a couple of booths because they were unfortunately in a large mud patch. Fortunately for us, PA isn't known for their wines so I didn't miss much.
We got to our friend's cabin around 5:45 on Friday and the key that was supposed to be hidden under the steps was not there, so while we waited for my friend to arrive, husband and I stood on their dock and got to watch a bald eagle swoop down onto a tree across the pond from us. That was lovely.
Home now with two of three cats on my lap and the Eagles game on the TV.

No good deed goes unpunished seems to be true. I finally mustered the ambition to go out and whack the errant stuff from rear neighbors' yards and got several fire ant bites on my right foot. I never even saw a mound - those guys are sneaky!

Got in about 45 minutes of weeding; tomorrow should give us a nice afternoon to finish the job. I am having some plain seltzer after a filling dinner.

My brand new bottle of laundry detergent fell off the washer and spilled 80% of its contents all over the laundry room floor. Gotta say I'm really not looking forward ro the clean up.

I got the windows washed inside and out in my car. For some reason that's like me dusting, not something I like to do. I never think to clean the 2 big ones in the roof but did today, have no idea the last time they were cleaned inside. It's all sparkly and clean for awhile as I also ran it through the carwash in the city. If it gets 57 tomorrow going to wash the windows across the front of the house. Hubs sprays bug killer and its all down the windows and looks awful.
We had tamales for dinner. I get them at Sam's and they are big ones, we all like them. DD only ate half, hubs two, and me one and a half. I didn't have salad that was enough. I had frozen some cherry turnovers I bought the other day and thawed them. Hubs and DD will have some, I might eat one.
For some reason today everytime I sit down Smoke curls up and goes to sleep on my lap, Mr Velcro cat today.
All our beds now have clean linens. Going to have to order DD new pillows hers are really getting stained bad, it happened before I got covers on them but now the covers are stained too. It's time. I have a terrible time finding pillows we like. I will try Pennys and Lands End, I think LE's are on sale right now.
Last night my ankle, tonight my left wrist and lower arm is aching pretty badly. No idea why. The other was intense pain, this is just aching.

Hubs tires weren't as much as he thought. So used $500 in rewards from our credit card and paid the other $599, so that is done for quite some time again.

Boy is still limping. It does something to me to see how he walks. We are trying to keep him laying in the sofa during the day, but he still keeps trying to follow us around, and run around and play. Mister’s nerves are bad because he is very worried about Boy and his injury. He wanted to take him to a vet today, but the earliest he could get him seen is dropping him off at his regular vet Monday morning. He was able to figure out exactly where the blood on Boy’s paw is coming from, and he is concerned that there might be a sliver of glass that we can’t see, in the flesh around one of Boy’s nails, where the bleeding is coming from. As of this evening, the paw is now swollen. We have to let him outside to do his business, and we clean his paw every time after that, but there is the concern that an open wound might get infected since it is on the bottom of his paw and comes into contact with the ground. We tried wrapping his paw, to try to keep it from direct contact on the ground, and that lasted for about 2 minutes before Boy tried to get it off. So we just took it back off, so he wouldn’t eat it. I feel so bad when I see him limping. When I first saw what he’d done, I was irritated. But when I saw the blood on the floor which meant he was injured, my irritation immediately turned into concern for him, and I tended to him before I cleaned up the mess he had made. We are doing our best to keep it clean until we can get him to the vet. But Mister is still bent out of shape with worry. I understand, he just lost OG last year and Boy’s needy and loving self has been so much comfort to Mister during all the stuff with Mister’s parents. I love Boy myself, even though he gets on my nerves, but as much as I need him to be okay because I love him, I also need him to be okay for Mister’s sake. Easier said than done, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've had dogs go outside in the winter and rip off part of their pad and be just fine. Macy also had a cat slice her ear open. Get him looked at, but I wouldn't worry until the vet does.

I'm drinking yesterday's 'champagne' and cooking. It's still fizzy. I got the carrots and parsnips peeled, and the onion, parsley and dillweed wrapped in cheesecloth, to make it easier to remove from the pot. Everything's done before 90 Day Fiance.

My car has been evicted from the garage in favor of the kiddie pool. I drew the line at 4 gallons of glue DS had another friend over for the first time today. This one is a movie maker. After making pretzels, building a fire, and quality time in the pool I had to text his mom for extra time first for slime play then for setting up their movie. I am not at all sure they shot any video but they sure had a great time planning and setting it up

I am making chili. I’ve always used McCormick’s chili seasoning, this time I made my own. I had Mister taste it before I started cooking the chili and he said it was good. Well, it is not translating well in the actual chili. I am trying to fix it, but idk what the heck I’m doing lol. And I am very pleased to report that I have FINALLY had some decent sleep, 2 nights in a row. Yesterday I was shocked when I woke up and it looked like the sun was starting to come up. Our room is so dark, even in the daytime, that you can barely tell what time of day it is, or see the sun shining, but there was just enough light for me to see that the sun was indeed rising. I almost wanted to cry in gratitude that I hadn’t been awake since 2am. I practically skipped into work lol. I woke up about 20 minutes earlier this morning, but that was still GREAT. It’s been a very long time since I had some decent sleep, and for over a month, I have been only getting 2 or 3 hours of sleep, maybe 4 hours total of broken sleep. So the last 2 nights have been awesome.

That takes the pain away and prevents the little pus dots from forming. Don't ask me why, just trust me it works. I keep a cheap dollar store deodorant in my garden tote with my gloves and trimmers.
