After waking up yesterday at the buttcrack of dawn, sneezing and eyes itching (despite allergy meds), I ramped things up. I increased my dose of Benedryl, and used 2 different anti itch eye drops. As a result, I slept like the dead and didn't even hear TD’s alarm go off at 6:30. Both of us woke up at 8:30, and he had a meeting this morning. He left without coffee, his cell phone and wallet.
The Benedryl and eye drops still seem to be holding. I don’t remember last fall being near this bad.

I'm super congested, but that's one of the major symptoms of the current flavor of COVID. so I hadn't really been paying attention to it since I'm just a couple weeks out. I still haven't tested again to see if I come up negative, but day 1 of symptoms/positive test was 9/27.

We (Hubs and I) are on our last evening of vacation at a lake cottage rental in east NH. We just dug into our inner child and spent a half hour skipping stones. We forgot how much fun it is!

A couple doc appts for DD and we are done for the year!! Every 6 months or so we are slammed. I'm out of the donut hole so got 2 months of ozempic for $133!!. Yah!!! Rah!! The endoc doc is wanting us to stay on it for the good it does for our hearts, but the stuff is so darn expensive. But we only take .5mg. I'm going to try and get them filled again before month end and same with my cholesterol med and premarin, they are my 3 expensive ones, the rest are cheap.
They are starting her on a new drug for headaches. A dissolvable tablet taken every other day. Will see if that helps her.
The allergies here have to be awful, likely why I have a splitting headache. I shut the house up tight, they have combined all around us yesterday and today. I'm sure the air here is full of debris as it is super dry and the stuff is just fogging all over. I have medication I can take, but I take so much stuff I try not to take my as needed stuff but infrequently.
Hubs is to have meals heavy on protein, no sugar, low on carbs. So made him a cheeseburger, with Boars Head cheese I looked it up and no sugar. And mustard with no sugar. This morning he had 3 eggs and later cottage cheese. He told me not to buy more cottage cheese so I didn't, than he is looking for cottage cheese, sigh. I thought we had more. Than he can eat what he wants until surgery. He thought he had to have the catheter in for 6 weeks. I will go on surgery day to make sure we get it right. Wonder if I will have to change it or take him to do so?? Going to be rough me having to do everything here for that long, but I will. If I were a bit younger, no issue at all. Now I don't know, but I will still do it.
Son's enrollment date isn't till mid November so not worrying about that so much.
DD has sushi tonight, so far I am eating a salad with asian dressing. I added some cranberries, not bad.

My allergies have been horrible also. A couple weeks ago, DS was over here, and he, Mister and I were all constantly sneezing and snorting all day. Idk about DS, or even Mister, but it has still been a constant issue for me. One weird thing is that my eyes bother me the most when I take my contacts out. They itch so bad that idk what to do! My eyes were the first sign of my bad allergies, they would swell up so bad that they were almost shut, which made my Mom take me to the Doctor when I was about 4yo, and she learned I had terrible allergies. At that age, I was probably rubbing them when they itched real bad, because I didn’t know any better, and that probably contributed to the crazy amount of swelling, idk. But I do remember how my eyes would swell, because it continued for several years after that. My allergies eventually got better as I got older, which allergists say might have been due to my Mom taking me for allergy shots. When the shits first started, I was okay with it, but after some time, they started to hurt, and I whined and complained enough that my Mom stopped making me get them. That was also when I first started having an issue with needles. In my early 30’s, they started getting bad again. And even though I’d been allergic to practically everything outside, and a lot of common stuff inside, my whole life, I also developed some new allergies. Like to dogs. By the time I hit my 40’s, my allergies started causing me constant, serious sinus issues. But even with all of that, my eyes haven’t bothered me this much in years. It’s been more sinus type stuff, and lately it’s been everything! Ugh!

The turkey turned out great. Very moist.
I called Simon to pick some turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy, and he said "I can't even think about that now." I wanted them to at least have something to eat. They don't cook. I hope he comes sometime soon. I don't want to be stuck with a whole turkey.
Simon doesn't eat when he's stressed. He's like me.

I feel for Israel but I also feel for the people of Gaza, not Hamas. But this has been coming for 60 years. You cram people into a tiny area, then deprive them of means to a living, limit their food, their electric and everything.
I hear today in Gaza annual income was $1000 a year while in Israel $53,000 a year. That Hamas bigshots are living in Qatar in million dollar homes and watching this happen. They have been given billions to help the people of Gaza and they have used it for weapons.
Both sides are wrong, Israel taking the little land they had and the world not making sure they had a state so it was due to explode. 2 million people crammed in a tiny area that is shrinking because their land is being chipped away at.
I feel like I'm watching people being squeezed until they can kill them all. Neither side is right. But you can also see the reason why its happening.
I feel so sorry for the people of Israel, but I also feel so sorry for the people of Gaza with no where to go. Something needs to be done, I think that the whole area could implode if this is not stopped.
Just beyond sad for all there except the leaders, I have no sympathy for either side.

I'm trying to get in last minute family photos before it freezes. There's a rose garden nearby that's still gorgeous, but I really should have planned more time. I ordered 3 dresses for dc, and we spent tonight driving around for shoes. Pictures are at 8am Saturday morning.

I want to get family pictures done for Christmas. I finally got my folks to do it and dad didn't live that many more years.
I want to do the same for us, I have wanted to for several years. Now I'm worried it still hasn't been done.
Reading tonight, a book called Fault Lines Upheaval by Harley Tate. I like his apocalypse books, but several other authors too.
Yes, I should be doing a lot of other things beside this.

I feel sad too for the people on both sides who just want to live their lives. I have no sympathy for those in Hamas who believe in this slaughter and wish there was a way forward that did not involve the slaughter of more civilians.
