Fall allergies hitting me hard this year. Just got over a 15 minute sneezing fit, that happens at least 1 a day the last couple of weeks. I am just about ready to scratch my eyeballs out. I’ve got Panaday in, and I’m only supposed to use it once/day but by about midday, my eyes are driving me nuts.

Coffee. I had to go get fasting blood work done this morning, and the first appt I could get was 8:40. On the way home, I stopped at the grocery store that carries the tart cherries as TD is making the pies for Canadian Thanksgiving we are going to on Monday. He’s making pumpkin, apple and cherry. I have no idea if we need to bring anything else. Anyway, the only store that sells the frozen tart cherries is a locally owned store so decided to do a grocery shop there too. We were down on produce, and the only meat I picked up was lamb shanks because they had them. Between the cherries and the lamb shanks, that was $70 of the $177 bill. Ouch!

I think the itchy eyes is one of the worst parts about my allergies. The sneezing sucks but wanting to rip my eyeballs out is worse.

Hey, I am 71. I consider myself a senior but I am not elderly. I have had a will since I bought my first house. The current will looks nothing like that will where I had my dad as executor. At that age, he could have handled it. But there came a time when he couldn't handle anything. I am pretty good with Windows computers but terrible with Macs. I am working on getting my iMac ready to sell. Have to get the software, etc. off of it. and I don't need assistance with walking or sh*t like that either. That said, I do need help to open things occasionally due to arthritis in my hands so there is that.

Hi Kids! It's been one of "those" weeks here, and it's not even Friday yet. Our computer died, and we had to get a new one set up. Then, with DH getting close to the age to apply for Medicare, I've been scrambling to get some information, and found a last-minute class that was NOT sponsored by a health-insurance company, so spent the morning at that class. My brain is officially numb, and we're praying we don't screw up anything when he signs up next year. I've got a lot of reading to catch up on here. Prayers to everyone who needs them!

My new bed came in the mail. It's so heavy! My fat ass was struggling to get it in the house. I failed. Waiting on my dad to come help me.

The last delivery we got of dog food I was just barely able to wrestle that awkward box into the house. It sat in the doorway until DH came home & could get it down into the basement.

Me neither. And when did we even get close enough to have to think about this retirement stuff? I'm still a kid!

You know you found the one when you call them whining that the vintage jeans you bought were a mistake and causing you sensory issues and they drive to your work with a different pair of jeans for you to change into no questions asked. He did say he is saving it for future teasing purposes which is fair. Now remember that the next time you want to smack him.

Bed was successfully put in the house. I really don't want to carry that thing up the stairs on Saturday. I'm making the kids do it.

The buyer for my house wired me my share of the money. Monday I'm walking into the bank and paying off my car and leaving with the lein release. My next stop will be the DMV to apply for a clean title. Once that comes back, I'm signing it over to T2. I'm going to probably be buying another on a black Friday sale or something.

Also, I've decided that after everything is said and done, I'm getting a tattoo. I've been carrying my entire family financially for at least the last year. I'm doing something for me and nobody else for once.

Dh had already increased his hours to get over the full time threshold which is good. His job noticed it and gave him access to benefits at the beginning of this week when my job stuff was going down. He only had 3 days to sign up and he had been in touch with his hr to let her know that a change of life was coming but hadn't happened yet. But dh waited till the last minute and was worried that if we didn't sign up for insurance at that moment we'd lose the opportunity and was sure they could change it to being effective 11/1 when he explained the next morning.
Nope. We're double covered paying an extra $940 for this month. I'm so frustrated. If he had just put in the effort the day before so he had time to ask the question.

We pay about $930 a month for premiums and I don't know what the supplement increases will be yet this year. We didn't figure it would be that much a month till much later, but it is. So my SS keeps going down, hubs is high enough he is keeping up and passing the new deductions but not me. I can only imagine if I had to live on it. But than I suppose I could get medicare and medicaid at no cost. I told hubs its sad I worked over 35 years or so and not getting much. But I did part of it to myself by taking it at 62, lost 25%, that was stupid.
I am getting tired of trying to cook good food. I had some pork tenderloin, fried potatoes, steamed carrots, and fresh green beans. The beans and carrots were good but the meat and potatoes tasted off, we are thinking the last avocado oil I got has an off taste, hubs said just use corn oil. I've never gotten this oil before that was not good. Then I fixed a glass of koolaid from the individual serving packs and hubs said taste that, it too tastes funny. What is going on with this crappy stuff anymore, I'm guessing old. And the stuff is not considered stale dated.
we received the paperwork on the post office, so we signed and got it notarized and to the box for a 3:30 pickup so that's good. I paid $16k for it 7 years ago, rented for 7 years. Sold for $55k and will receive $52,800 for it. So not a bad return on investments always had a positive cash flow but didn't make big bucks. Would have done well in the coming year, but that's ok, it's a done deal. The other house sold full price so $74900, paid $30k, rented for 8 years with positive flow. Did spend on a new furnace and AC plus water heater and some appliances, plus flooring. Still we did little to it those years. But realtor fee on this one, capital gains, and tax on recapture of depreciation. Kind of disappointing by the time you are done.
The house will close within 30 days.
I'm tired so its time for this to happen. I think hubs is ready too.

Quick drop in post. 2nd grade is kicking our butts. It really is just a hot mess. I've been lurking a little but not much. This thread moves fast so I am certainly not caught up on details. But hugs, prayers, and good juju to all who need them

so it's a quarter to 9pm and I'm still outside with Punk. the windows are still open, heat is off again. I'm not at all ready for winter yet, and I really hate that I lost a Cape Cod fall weekend last weekend, in bed with COVID.

I finally made a successful dinner on my new stove.
That was after I turned the first batch of pasta into mush but second time was the charm.
I have to stop cooking intuitively until I'm understand my new oven. I followed the package instructions and set a timer.
Pasta came out perfect. This stove is was better than my old one.

A guy goes into a bar, there's a robot bartender. The robot says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Martini." The robot brings back the best martini ever and says to the man, "What's your IQ?" The guy says, "168." The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration, and medical technology. The guy leaves, but he is curious. So he goes back into the bar. The robot bartender says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Martini." Again, the robot makes a great martini gives it to the man and says, "What's your IQ?" The guy says, "100." The robot then starts to talk about NASCAR, Budweiser, and John Deere tractors. The guy leaves but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try it one more time. He goes back into the bar. The robot says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Martini," and the robot brings him another great martini. The robot then says, "What's your IQ?" The guy says, "Uh, about 50." The robot leans in real close and says, "Isn’t it terrible the way Biden stole the election?"

I like the Fall colors, and do like my pumpkin spice, but as far as I'm concerned, we can totally skip the months when we get that white stuff on the ground, and skip the severe cold too.

I'm awake again at 4AM, this is for the birds. Why am I doing this? I don't like it at all and I have rolled and tossed again. Something must be bothering me, probably my unconscious self worrying about hubs. And I know I am.
Since we are done with the house and PO, hubs has been around more, so I'm enjoying that with him. I so hope he will be around for a long time.
I was a good cook, but that sure hasn't been the case of late. Need to somehow do better in that regard too.
Ok, will read for awhile, just finished a book, couldn't stay awake last night to finish so just did. Was in bed by midnight.

Good morning, you (invisible) beautiful people! Welcome to Friday. I hope you have a splendid day, with comfortable jeans, lightweight packages, and stressless people you love. I hope no one pees in your Cheerios. At noon today I'm scheduled for my flu and Covid shots, with DH getting his 10 minutes earlier. I'm going to wait on RSV and I've had the Shingrix after having had shingles, so I think I'm good. I'm trying to decide if I should hire someone to haul the window a/c out and down to the basement for the season, then bring it back up next spring. Or, just leave it in the window. I could cover it with a cloth of some type. It's very heavy. Also very effective; it's our only unit and we only needed the one. Don't want to create any problems with it. I had central air in every other home I lived in as an adult. Yesterday and today too is densely foggy in the morning. DH wants to come to take pictures, too, so for the first time he's coming with Franklin the Dog and I to the beach at dawn. I took this yesterday, at the park surrounding the revolutionary war fort on the water. The benches are all facing the water.

Watch out for those insurance people, when you buy your new car! You know how they can be. LOL 😉 😄 JK. I'm really happy for you. ♡ Enjoy!
