He doesn’t deserve what? To live where he is cuddled and petted instead of ignored all the time, where the costs for all natural dog food and treats for 2 dogs that eat twice/day is more than some people’s grocery budget, where he lives inside a comfy home instead of outside, where he has plenty of toys to play with, where he gets to go run around in a large backyard every day, accompanied by an adult human keeping an eye on him and/or using gadgets to help him get specific types of exercise, where he goes to the vet for routine stuff and when it seems like something might be wrong? He doesn’t deserve those things? If we had known everything that was about to happen was going to happen after we got him, getting a puppy would’ve been the last thing we did. But there was no way for us to know that, was it? And despite all of that, he has never been mistreated. The way his litter mates were given away, I’m guessing that he is much better off than most of his other 8 siblings. I guess he doesn’t deserve that either. Expressing anxiety…. He has been destructive from day 1. I know puppies chew on stuff, but I’ve never had a puppy as destructive as he is. He chewed the corner off the trim on a freaking WALL. He tore up my large outdoor rug on the deck, and the cushion on the sofa out there. Am I supposed to be pleased about things like that? It’s not like I can put those things away to keep them from him, like keeping shoes in the closets. He has plenty of toys, we can’t buy him regular dog toys, we have to buy stuff advertised as indestructible and tends to cost a pretty penny. He gets play time, he gets exercise, and he is still destructive. If you haven’t figured it out, I am insulted by what you said. He is curled up at my feet right now, and the way you make it sound, he should be fearful that I might kick him at any moment. I would never do that, or mistreat him in any way, no matter how much he gets on my nerves. And you are wrong for insisting that he must be miserable and mistreated living here. Notice there was no apology for insulting you. Typical. I didn't say it, but I'm sorry, it was said. 😕

DS just called me, crying. A friend who he has known since grade school died of an overdose...fentanyl. The dog has been lying on his body for the last 5 days, and won't let the cops or paramedics near him. DS had been trying to get him help for a long time. DS and his friends got him into rehab, but Ryan always leaves after 2 days. DS is freaking out. Ryan texted him just before he died, and Simon didn't answer. I am so sorry.

Mister asked his brother if he paid the mortgage on the house and his brother started going on about how everything is just so difficult, trying to accept that their parents are both gone. Mister told him that the mortgage company doesn’t give a damn about any of that, they just want their money. And maybe if he sat down and tried to figure shit out, and handled his business, or even better, try to find a j.o.b., it might temporarily distract him from all those thoughts about how hard it is losing their parents. I told him he should have told his brother, imagine how much MORE sad you’re gonna be when you don’t have anywhere to live anymore if you don’t pay that mortgage. I feel like that would be an asshole kind of thing to say, for most people, but not coming from Mister since it was his parents too, and Mister did all the heavy lifting with holding things together until now. I don't think it's an asshole thing to say either. If someone who is able bodied at 40 yo has been so dependent on their parents that they don't even have a job, that's their problem. He kicked the can on responsibility down the road as far as it will go. Time to deal with the consequences. Karma's a bitch.

I like random facts, LOL!
I am making progress, paid the bills we owe, thankfully they are small ones, but still had to pay them for the rentals. Sent info to the PO purchaser and other info to other purchasers about pipelines and disclosures pertaining to the property, they need to change the mailing address to them. I'm sure they get them pertaining to their other properties.
Now our utility sends out an estimated usage bill and dollar amount mid cycle by email. This month so far its $13. Love these sunny days, the panels churn out that electric to use and sell back to the utility. That hum we hear in the bathroom, just a slight one, is our inverter working and sending back, love that sound.
Picked up DD's scrips, long lines, and got my RSV vaccination, another long line. I said oops first of the month and the pharmacy tech said nope been like this for a week or more. Both stores were 6 deep and getting deeper when I left, seems like it takes a long time to pick up scrips and get a shot.
Catching up on docs visits and will start on other paperwork soon to catch it up. Need to do the LLC books to date and DD's paperwork and bank recs to date. Won't be as much work as it used to be for sure. And we are dissolving the LLC as of year end. Will only have 1 or 2 rentals left, so will change a lot.
I will be so happy to be able to stop all that work, been doing this crap all my life and I'm so done with it. I used to enjoy it all but no more. I want to kick back daily and have minimal paperwork to take care of. To me that will be heaven. Hopefully will get to just DD's to do.
Of course things were going smoothly, than I was emptying the last of the cat bowls and leftover food went all over by the trash can on my clean floor, happens every time I mop. Than I was moving some things in a cabinet and knocked a pepper shaker out. It broke and pepper everywhere as I had just filled it a couple of days ago. Hubs said time to quit and I did. What a mess that was, sigh.
So now kicking back and watching telly or maybe read a bit. It's 10:30.

Dh brought it up first but I think I'm going to ask him to switch to overnights. It's a $6 an hour shift differential...which is a lot. And a fair # of holidays this time of year that he can pick up. As long as he has a weekend day off I'm not sure that it will impact the kids a ton. I feel a little guilty but he says he still prefers nights.

My arm really hurts from the RSV shot, ouchie! The pharmacist said it hurts when given worse than some others, he is correct.
I hope to get it for DD end of next week.

(waves hand) PP also chewed the baseboards off the walls. He chewed through computer cords as well, and he pulled so hard on walks that we had to switch him to a harness because I was legit afraid he was going to choke himself unconscious-he would have coughing fits and go straight back to pulling on the collar. I was out walking him once, put my hand in the pocket of my Eddie Bauer raincoat bc it was cold; he took off after a leaf in the wind so suddenly and so hard he ripped the pocket out. He would also come try to wake us up at 3 am for playtime, until we started shutting him downstairs, at which point he’d get bored and chew more baseboard off. He thought nipping at fingers was a fun time too. He was an absolute pain in the butt. Puppies are cute bc they can be so awful they would never survive to adulthood otherwise. It occurs to me Boy is still a puppy-I don’t think he’s two yet, is he? I think their frames finish growing about 5-6 months but their minds are still maturing for a good long while. I’ve said a million times that Boy is lucky he’s so cute lol. He turned a year old in July. There is a lot of puppy still in him. Luna just turned 3 and she has just now started to calm down.

I know some people that have worked 3rd shift for decades with their spouse on first and it works great for them because everyone is up and together late afternoons/evenings. I could never do overnights myself no matter how much it paid. I loved 2nd shift, but, 2nd is way worse than 3rd for seeing your family and almost impossible for a single parent.

Hubs is getting a sonogram in the morning. Our cardiologist left so this is a replacement doc. They are going to look at it and make sure he can have surgery. He won't hear the results till next week.
Somehow I am feeling good for him. I just feel it will all work out and he will be fine. I have no idea why my anxiety has lessoned. I sure hope these feelings are correct.
The 4th he is getting a dental cleaning. Than the 9th meets with the cardiologist. On the 13th he goes in for the PMSA, no date for surgery yet.
He wants to get his last 2 vaccines before than, so he is doing all he needs to do. If not for DD and I, I don't think he would do anything. I'm thankful we matter to him. He is well loved.
I am only worried about his day of surgery. I will have to go with him very early and have noone to stay with DD that day. I will have to try and leave meals for her to eat. If possible I may see if the restaurant in town can bring her lunch and maybe my neighbor can look in on her just to make sure she is ok. I worry that she could try heating herself something in the mircrowave or try opening something and cut herself badly. Or she won't eat anything while I am gone and fall and hurt herself and noone knowing it. It's possible he may come home or he could have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days. That I can handle with just a visit and she can go with me.
I may be able to get her behavior case worker to stay with her or take her someplace that one day. I will check when its set up.

Good morning, fierce invisipeeps, braving recalcitrant puppies of all species and raising them to responsible citizenry. Welcome to taco Tuesday, also Global Smoothie Day. So celebrate with a meal of tacos, soft if you can because it is national Soft Taco Day, accompanied by a smoothie of any variety that is your pleasure. I heard from my third professional reference and submitted two job applications yesterday late afternoon. In many ways this is not the best time to start working in any additional capacity, but I do not want to eat up our savings on daily expenses which have increased with DD here. A W2 income strikes me as the best answer. Freelancing is sporadic money. DH did put calls in yesterday to his nephrologist and the nurse coordinator, so we should hear soon about scheduled appointments and procedures. He'll be 74 in a three weeks. The rain appears to be over until the weekend, of course. Unfortunately we had planned to go leaf peeping this Saturday since we are meeting family in New Hampshire for a group dinner at a Brazilian restaurant. We may be rained out, although we'll still dine. The sun yesterday was brilliant, beginning with dawn:

I love it! My cousin that organized my family feeding Mister’s family after his Mom’s funeral, is Dr. Cousin. I and am very proud of her and everything she has accomplished, but when I hear her addressed as Dr. Cousin, I still think “who”?! LOL! I guess I’ve still not gotten use to it because I’ve only ever heard it the rare times I’ve been around when she’s on a work related call. It’s not like she introduces herself like that outside of her work life, unless maybe she does it in certain situations for reasons like you are planning. To me, she’s still *just* my bossy cousin who was like my older sister when I was growing up, so I forget the Dr. part. I like hearing it though, because I know how hard she worked for it. I call DN1 and his wife by their first names. I changed the kid's diapers. Since I am their US address, I get mail to Dr. I beam with pride over what they have accomplished. I think DN1 got his PhD in spite of himself. He talked to his advisor about what programs to apply. He didn't listen and only applied to the best programs in the country. He got reject letters from all but one. That one sent him a you are on the wait list. He didn't get accepted until a couple of weeks before classes started. He is stubborn and that gave him motivation. He decided that since everyone knew he was the last one in, he was going to graduate with the highest gpa. He accomplished that. Then I look at his wife coming to the US at age 18 on a State Department scholarship, living in a foreign country where you can't go home. When she first got here things like FaceTime did not exist. Her English was not as good as it is now. She thinks she has too much of an accent, so she is taking speech lessons. I am very proud of both of them and I do not think she married him for the green card. I don’t even know him, and I really like how he did that. I am in awe of his wife and the moves she made at such a young age. These are The Toddler’s parents, right?

I woke up way too early. Since I have a lot I want to get done today, I just gave up on trying to sleep and got my day started. I already have a load of clothes in the washing machine and I am sipping coffee. I am starting to feel like my old self again, thank God. Which is why I have quite the to-do list lol. That’s fine though, I will feel even better as things start getting back in order, and hopefully that will become a cycle that continues, instead of the other cycle I’ve been caught in for so long. Anyway, I hope you all have a great day!

Today will be my actual last day which works out well. I finished up our files yesterday for a clean hand off to bosses boss. Might have a little bit left this morning depending on how quickly they get the paperwork processed. But once they pull the plug I can get started on stuff I couldn't do until I wasn't employed. We'll see how quickly I can get my license moved and get up and running. Then I get to start marketing myself. Yay. But that's good too. My boss at the dog training gig gave me a nice pep talk yesterday and she's run her business successfully for decades so I needed that.

Glad you got your health coverage extended through Oct I’ve often thought that the way to real success is through entrepreneurship, rather than playing it safe with a w2 job and a hopefully annual COL raise that doesn’t always match inflation. It’s taking a risk, for sure, but there is some significant potential upside here. We’re rooting for you all the way

Distracted today. Call with assoc superintendent was less than satisfying, although we will hold them to having a second adult present for gym class. Lawyer rescheduled call to tomorrow, which should help but I think the distraction ship has sailed. On the bright side I discovered somewhat belatedly a note in DS’ backpack pocket with the number of his friend’s mom, and we have a playdate scheduled tentatively for weekend after next This is a different friend than the gaggle of girls that came over yesterday-he seems to have been adopted by one of the popular girls circles (yes, I’m keeping an eye out but they seem to actually be friends…although I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that we have basically every toy known to man . My awkward and socially inappropriate but sweet and kind kid is finding his way Sorry about all the trouble with school and good luck today! And yay for new friends! It’s so much we as parents can hope for when it comes to our kids, to have some good friends to be there for each other. I know it means more to me that my kids are ok and have friends than where I am with all that.

Painkiller is excellent. There was also a limited series on Hulu or Showtime called Dope Sick, which is also excellent. The Sacklers are pigs. John Oliver did a segment a while back, pointing out that the settlement essentially costs the Sacklers nothing. I have the Painkiller on my list but I don’t know if I’ll have it in me to actually watch it any time soon. I watched the short documentary Heroin(e) and it broke me. I had to work myself up to watching the Ordinary Men as I felt it was really important and I am keenly interested in why and how we as humans can do such horrible, gruesome acts of violence. I have a few movies/shows like that on my lists, it takes me a while to get through them. Thank you for suggestions!

Oh boy, this RSV vaccine has knocked me on my butt.
I hurt all over, have a headache, ribs hurting, its kind of like the flu. But I suppose this is a mini version. I was also cold. Hubs left and that dang computer of his binged and bonged, I would get sound asleep and it would wake me again. I needed to rest. Finally took it to the living room and was sound asleep, than he came in making noise. I gave up.
I don't want to cancel our appts as that could be a lot of the beauticians wage for today and I'm sure this is just the shot. I'm going to get hubs to take me. I know he isn't happy about it but I need his help this time.
I also realized why I was so hungry, I was thinking reducing the ozempic, well, no. I got a shot of prednisone a couple of weeks back and it always does that. How could I forget that? That stuff makes me eat like a horse, but I'm getting it under control. To many meds and crap to remember and take.
Also my ribs across the back at the bottom of them are killing me. I feel awful.
I told hubs we can get DD's hair done first and he can take her for lunch and go to Ollies or somewhere like that. It's miserable waiting for people but I have only ever asked him to do that one other time for hair appointments
I sure hope I'm not getting sick, if so this is going to bad I think. When I get home going back to bed.

House closes tomorrow. I get keys on Fri to the new place and will be moving all weekend. I'm taking the day off on Monday so I can come back and get anything left behind and try and put the new place together. Then I go to TX next Wednesday for a few days. It's going to be a lot!

That was impressive fast. I think it would take me 6 months to pack up my house.

I finally broke down and contacted a couple contractors to get bids for my siding. I haven't heard back from the one yet, but the other one came out this morning. He said it would be about a week before he got back to me and it would be next year before they could get to it. All the hail storms have caused a huge backlog for getting roofs on and that's all they're doing for the rest of the season. He asked me about doing windows at the same time, and I said no, but now I'm second guessing myself. Except for one that has a broken pane they're all good vinyl windows. I don't know why they'd need to be replaced.
