I'm watching the governor's fire update. It's horrible. The big fire is 145,000 acres and it's still windy there. I hope the containment improves. Stay safe.

All my floors are clean and the 4 throw rugs are washed. I still need to clean the bathroom sinks. Commodes are clean too, and waste baskets emptied, I even mopped the steps going into the garage. Laundry is done so far, but of course there will always be more.
Getting ready to bake a pineapple upside down cake for hubs. Dinner will be left over veggie soup.
I need to dust, did not do that either, but may some yet tonight. It's cooled to 70, with a breeze made it cool, so closed the back door.
I really need to mop the basement stairs, we have heavy industrial step treads on them so really nice and easy to keep clean.
Not sure what time hubs will be home, they have to take the voting machines to town also and wait to check them in. Of course, he is a dem and his friend is a repub, has to be 1 from each party.

Oh, they don't sleep with us, but do lay on the bed with me in the morning for a few hours and nights sometimes for a few hours if I'm in there. Still I guess its just technically not sleeping with us, LOL! Still I want the sheets clean and sanitized and my pillow slips.
I don't use softener on the towels, they won't dry water off very good after awhile. But we have a water softener so it does a good job of rinsing. I will use it on jeans and clothing at times.
Wow, all my windows need washed inside and out, now that's a job. Have to take all the window inserts out of each window, mine aren't between the panes, they are wooden inserts that pull off so you can wash the window, so extra work.
I'm about done for today except for baking the cake. It smells good in here, I like that.

Tomorrow is tree trimmers between 1 and 3, around $1000. Just scheduled tree feeding for May 16, that's included in the $1,000 cost.

Yesterday I had the foot ultrasound and cortisone shot. Dr said there was a lot of inflammation and there was a tear, and that was after 3 weeks in a walking boot. Looking forward to some pain relief. Once the pain subsides I can get back into normal daily activities and gradual exercise. I am going to be so careful, though.
I’ve had a pain in my shoulder this week, almost like I can’t get it situated in the socket right, where I can barely lift stuff and it’s painful all-night. Well that pain disappeared last night. Do you think the foot shot had anything to do with it or do you think it’s just a coincidence?

Be really leery of food saying distributed by, you have no idea where it came from. i read about that one day, that way they don't have to say. I just don't want products produced in conditions in 3rd world countries. Fresh you can at least wash though what fertilizer and stuff used you just don't know. One of the reasons I like to home can, I know where its grown, know the clean conditions I cook and can it in. I have a hard time eating some stuff produced elsewhere, I try not to think about it. Foods produced and canned in Europe don't bother me. But don't you have farmers nearby spraying fertilizers and other chemicals? I don't want any of that in my food or the air I'm breathing either.

I googled more exercises and it's been better, but I'm still hobbling out of bed, having pain even in bed, and just much more constant heel pain then ive had in prior years. I'm wondering when I go in to the doctor for it.

We've been using cloth bags that stand up on their own for many years. Last week 3 were taken from my cart while I left it to get something. The stores don't sell them anymore, just bags the don't stand up. I bought a pack of 3 online. I like how much the cloth bags hold and ease of carrying them. I also use cloth bags, that stand up on their own. And I have had mine stolen. It's so annoying! And I take an insulated bag from Sam's with me, if I'm going to the grocery store. I keep my shopping bags in my trunk, so I don't have to look at them in my apt and have them with me, when I stop at a store.

Do you think the foot shot had anything to do with it or do you think it’s just a coincidence? In my experience, steroid shots can help with inflammation in places besides the intended spot. I got a steroid shot for my shoulder or somewhere (so many issues I can barely keep them straight) at the same time I was having issues with my sinuses. My sinuses got better for a week or so, then worse again, so I made an appointment with my Doctor. During that visit, I mentioned I’d had a shot for my shoulder (or whatever it was for lol) and she said that was why my sinus issues improved briefly. The possibility hadn’t occurred to me until she said it.

That’s happened 2 or 3 times over the last 4 or 5 years. Since that’s resolved it each time, I’ve not been to a doctor about heel pain yet. I’m pretty sure I wear my shoes out faster than the average person, because I’m on my feet on a concrete floor for 8 hours/day. When I have heel pain, it hurts like hell when I stand up after sitting for a while, or when I get up in the morning. As I walk, the pain gets better. It’s always been the same foot. And that is in addition to other ways my feet hurt. Just sharing my experience with heel pain.

I think this is all I post, but I'm so tired.
Really good news at the orthopedist. Minor fracture at the growth plate. They moved her to a boot that she can walk on and take off for showering. They suggested another day or 2 on the scooter, then a day or 2 with 2 crutches, then 1 crutch until she's comfortable with just the boot. Recheck in 3 weeks. It's really our best case scenario. Just being able to walk on it makes such a difference. I really hurt my back helping her Sunday/Monday so I'm relieved she won't need as much physical help.
The doctors/staff were also amazing. Upbeat, positive, really built up her confidence. Now if I could just find a gp for her like that.
Dd had a 2nd appointment this afternoon we're at now. I'm hoping to go to the dojo tonight depending on when we get home, but I'm also wanting to crawl in bed, and feel guilty for everything I haven't gotten to on the to-do list. At my last class they gave me the form to rank up to the next belt. I don't feel ready at all and I start down a rabbit trail of trying to come up with reasons they'd give that to me even though I feel so behind and clueless. I'm trying to decide what sets a better example for dd. We've been talking a lot about how hard it is to go back and feel lacking, and pushing through, working hard, letting go of ego, blah, blah, blah. It's hard to step back and look objectively.

I just bought new tennis shoes and still have pain. I don't wear them exclusively though, although I'm trying to upgrade all my shoes. What shoes do you wear for work? The last time mine got bad dh bought me a foot massager and between that and my stretches the pain went away for months. Now the massager feels good when I'm in it but doesn't seem to help once I'm back up.

I am also sad because I'm really missing Beth. When I discovered I was pregnant with the Missy, the first person aside from DH that I told was Beth. I could have an honest, non-judgemental conversation with her. It was a huge gift at the time, to be given space to be heard without being pushed on way or the other.
I knew enough to know that I had to choose for myself so I could be OK with that choice. I can't imagine being forced into a decision. I'm all too familiar with what happens when parents resent their children. It contributed to my mom's issues.
Of all the unfair things in this world, losing Beth so early is right up there at the top.
Driving today I found myself thinking about Beth and my almost meet up with her. I know it's because Mother's Day is this weekend and it was over Mother's Day weekend that I was going to be there. We tried, but because it was Mother's Day weekend, we couldn't figure out a time. Also thought about all the stuff that went poof. I did get to meet Gira on that trip.

I just got home from hanging out with DGS for his birthday. He requested that I drive the Tahoe since he’d never rode in it. I’d never driven it either lol. It seems so huge. So it was an adventure for both of us. DD says the Tahoe looks Presidential (it’s black), so today DGS said he was Mr. President and sat in the back seat, and I was his chauffeur. He didn’t want me to come around and open the door for him though lol. When I dropped him off at home, he announced that the President had arrived at home and was exiting the vehicle. We’d gone shopping, but Mr. President carried all his new stuff inside himself, without aid from the chauffeur. I let him buy a gift for him to give DGD1 for her birthday. Their birthdays are exactly a week apart. He seemed happy, I know I enjoyed the time with him. I really miss seeing them as often as I use to.

Now the massager feels good when I'm in it but doesn't seem to help once I'm back up. My go to shoes for work are Nike AirMax, have been for several years. I only buy them on sale though. Lately I’ve been wearing the lugged sole Converse. My feet seriously don’t hurt at all in those, ever. I can wear the Cole Haan shoes I linked earlier, for hours without pain, but I don’t wear them to work because they’ll get dirty. I know your dress code for your job is probably different from mine though. If there’s a Cole Haan store or outlet near you, maybe try on some of their flats. I have a few pair, and they don’t cause me issues. Mister has started buying their shoes because they are comfortable to him too. I also have some driving style shoes from Frye that are comfortable to me. I have the same style in 2 colors, and some booties. B.O.C. are usually comfortable for me too. I think they are made by Born, but my feet don’t like Born shoes. I have some B.O.C. booties with a short heel that I can walk around all day in. My go to brands for heels are Vince Camuto (sp?), BCBG and Michael Kors. I always look for those brands first when I’m buying heels. I have 4” heels from each brand that I can wear all night with no problems. But when I’ve had heel pain, the important shoe was the ones I was wearing to work. I just replaced my work shoes, not any of my others and the pain went away. Also, I know I mentioned brands and designers, but I very rarely pay full retail price for my shoes. Don’t let the cost turn you off if you find a brand that your feet like. Almost everything goes on sale at some point.

Also, for heel pain, I think there’s something like a brace or whatever you can put on your feet at night to keep them in a certain position while you sleep. It’s been a while since I read about it, but from what I remember, the angle we have our feet in when we sleep causes the tendons or whatever to get too tight, which causes the pain when we get out of bed.
That sounds stupid as I typed it, so I might not have it right lol. But IIRC, the position of our feet when we sleep can contribute to the issue.

I've been purging lately, as stuff accumulates really fast. I walked to the Salvation Army store to drop off coats, boots and jackets. I figured I'll pop in just to see if anything new came in. I found a one gallon aquarium with an undergravel filter, gravel, airstone, pump, fish food, plastic plants, etc., and it's all brand spanking new! Never been used. $4.50. Yep, four dollars and fifty cents. I looked at new ones online and they're about $40-$50.
If Dwayne survives my ministrations, that will be his new home.

Newbie and I hung out in the garage while Mister was doing stuff to the Tahoe in the driveway.
I let her run around the backyard for a while. Mister and I joke about how we’ve spent so much money on toys for her and OG, and Newbie’s most favorite-est toy is a deflated ball she found that had been hiding in some of that brush Mister had cut down.
EVERY single time she’s out in the yard, the first thing she does is find that ball. Sometimes she just runs all over the yard with it in her mouth, or she’ll “throw” it over her head and chase it, or she’ll lay on her back with it in her mouth. She’s tried to bring it in the house, but no ma’am.
Idk why, but she LOVES that ball.
She escorted me while I went to look at some of my plants. She doesn’t walk right by my side, but she bounces and runs around me, without getting too far from me.
And when I got tired of standing and walking, she came in the garage with me while we waited for Mister to finish what he was doing.
I know Mister is a big burly man and can handle himself, but I was nervous about him being what felt like vulnerable to me while he was fooling with the Tahoe. A couple of weeks ago, I probably wouldn’t have been as concerned. But that’s really why Newbie and I hung out on that side of the house today. Mister would probably have a stroke if he knew that, so let’s keep that secret between me and y’all mmmmkay?
I hate it that I even think like that. But I’m from the ‘hood and I have some idea of what makes a person an easy target. So I’d already always felt like that gap in our yards was a problem, the police saying that’s where the people trying to steal Mrs. T’s vehicle came through just intensified my concerns.
Mister has someone that is supposed to put up wood fencing to close it off, but I’m not sure exactly when it will be done.

Foot pain is my life, I have it all. There are some braces that go on the front of the leg and top of the foot that helped me some. But if you can find good orthotics, that will help more than anything, they are hard to find for sure. Get the absolute best quality shoes you can get. Apex, Orthofeet, they are clunky but really good. New Balance are good also as are Brooks.
The ones I had made are $195 for one set and $295 for 2, but they are wonderful if you get them right.
I don't know if any of you need too but I can sure attest that extra weight is the worst for your feet. Losing has really helped mine, though I still have pain, but at least it's not constant now.
I'm still thinking that surgery may eventually help me, but that is down the road yet. I want to get max weight off before I even consider that and see if that solves it first.

If any good comes from all of this, let us hope that more corporations will learn to manufacture in the US, and have their own regional warehouses, rather than relying on overseas production, transportation, and inventory. I’ve been waiting 6 months for a Honda van to be produced by an Alabama production plant and it’s still not ready yet!!!!!!!! It’s supposedly been in production each month since I ordered it, but the production month keeps changing. The vehicle hasn’t been sold as it’s been confirmed by another dealership they are having trouble getting similar vans in and seeing the same thing. The dealer I’m buying it from doesn’t know what part or parts are the issue, but just that it’s been delayed again. It’s getting very frustrating!!! Have you been issued an order number or VIN? When I special ordered a Jeep that took months to produce I could go onto their customer care chat on their website and get updates on the status. Depending on the agent the update was sometimes vague. But I could tell if it was in assembly, in painting, waiting on the bumper, completed and waiting to be shipped, etc.

Good morning, engaging invisipeeps of Y Ma'am. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope yours is just as (not) wild and wooly as you like, energizing and satisfying.
Today will be a day of appointments near our former home and uploading documents to lenders.
The inspector completed his report yesterday and I need to go through it, too. Nothing huge was found. A few items really need attention: basement moisture and windows, which were badly installed and now the wood at the trim is rotting. One window has failed and is clouding over.
It appears that the fireplace has a pellet stove insert. We want a gas-fired fireplace so we can stare at the flames, to that needs replacement. The 2 sump pumps in the basement don't work and the yard grading needs to be redone to direct water away from the house.

No VIN yet. When DH bought a new Passport in November, and this dealership doesn’t have the “market adjustment” markup. They were expecting a van in the trim level and color I wanted to be produced the following week that DH got his Passport. Then the production date has changed many times. I was told that once it’s been moved to transit, then I’ll have a VIN. When I asked the salesman (that DH also used) earlier this week, he said that dates say was in production again last week but the good news is that the touring that our other customers ordered in October has been completed and is in route. Yours was next in terms of order date. If they finished that one they should have yours on the way to get a vin here really soon. We’ll see. 🤷♀️

I wash everything in warm because that is the default on my washer. I need to start switching it to cold. With all the price increases.....I need to save money where we can. This is what I am thinking. I mostly use Permanent Press, which defaults to warm. Sometimes Delicate which is cold. My towels cycle is warm, as is my bedding cycle. If I want Hot water, I have to choose it-Occasionally I do for whites. I also just bought the lysol sanitizer product recently. Walked my dogs already, it was Cold. We walked Fastly. Ready for Spring to get here. Gotta give Mom a wake up call, then get ready for work. More later.
