We just passed some houses with backyard privacy fences. One had a carefully constructed vegetable garden enclosed in chicken wire against the fence that appeared to be thriving. And it uses no land that would be doing the homeowner any good otherwise.

I understand what giramomma is saying. I have more than one health issue I need to get answers on. However, I don't have the headspace to take everything on at once. So I prioritized them and am dealing with them that way. I am feeling much better and I think that is attributable to the thyroid medication.

Riding the train somewhere north of NYC. I think we're still in Connecticut. The track pretty much hugs the coast. We've gone through some very picturesque areas on the water, some shrouded in fog. It just occurred to me that somehow I missed strawberry season entirely. Now we're in corn and blueberries and soon, peaches. IMmm. 'm sure many of you have noticed that I'm a foodie. Peach picking season just started yesterday at my go- to farm Raspberries are on special right now

I really wish I could go on antidepressants but it’s not worth the migraines. It’d be great to devote less headspace to fighting imposter syndrome and more to getting sh!t done. I am really tempted to try medical cannabis. Today the neighbor is having tree work done. This is across the street; both of us have corner lots with an enormous amount of street frontage (no sidewalks). Looked out to see the tree company had successfully taken up all of theirs and all of ours parking their enormous vehicles and equipment Had to get them to move one just to be able to move Old Car out of the driveway so I could drop off New Car for inspection. We have people with their own large vehicles coming to do stuff on the pool today and our other across the street neighbor is having part of his driveway paved; we are not amused. Good news, dropped off car for inspection. Chipping away slowly…also need to find a less annoying dentist for kid and schedule his cleaning. Have not yet looked at the new inherited assets account, I have a bit of a mental block on that front. I did let them know they need to send a check or similar for DS bc I am not giving them his SSN to open a damn account there.

That's amazing, MPL. I'd go to Vegas just to see that. It's been a few years since I last visited and I do miss it.
I'm all about the shows. Occasionally a slot machine or craps game blocks my path and I must stop. And then there's the food...

He was outvoted, but I didn't push it and I kind of regret it. Oh well, the sphere wasn't there yet, so now we have a reason to go back.

Hubs is having kitty issues. He said Tigger has been wanting to sit on his lap and since he has restless legs can't let him for long. He said he meows. Last night apparently Smoke wanted to start sitting on his lap. He said he was running around meowing. Said he tried different food, checked the tlitter box, had changed their water yesterday. He said nothing he did satisfied him. I said hon, they know something is different, but don't really understand why I'm sure, so they are wanting attention. Poor babies, I miss them so and really worry about them. I must admit, hubs is really trying more than I thought he would. I'm trying to get DIL to let me take little guy to Indiana middle of August so he can visit with grandpa before school. He wants to go so bad, he started crying. But son is going TDY off and on all month and she doesn't want to be alone. We will probably work something out. I will see what weeks he is gone and hope he won't at the end of the month. Maybe he can go the last week and stay till right before school starts, will see.I don't mean to drag this topic out, but if she's worried about being alone (I would too if I felt lonely in my life) then maybe she could take a short getaway with friends. A long weekend would probably do some good for her psyche.

My daughter is SO upset with me, She has texted me from what I guess is a random Internet phone number, demanding I unblock her and saying this is so stupid. I did not respond, and I did not unblock her. Because if having access to me is that important, then don’t be an asshole whenever you feel like I didn’t respond or do things the way you want me to do them…. When I had a valid reason for not responding the way you wanted me to, or not doing what you wanted me to. The same way you insist I let you be you, let me be me! I don’t know what the duck I am doing right now, but what I do know is that I’m tired of people playing with me and acting like I have no choice but to show them all the love that I do, regardless of what THEY do, and how they treat me. Can you get away and unplug for a little bit? You shouldn't have to, but the people in your life don't know how to act right now. Even if it's just for a couple of days, like your set days off so it doesn't interfere with your job. Even if you just check into a hotel in your city. If you don't get a break or if the people in your life don't grow some common sense, something or someone is going to snap.

I was going to try and go for my birthday since it won't be so hot in November. However the weekend I was going to go is the weekend that Aerosmith is going to be here for their farewell tour, so I'm going to that instead.

I have anxiety so certain strains of cannabis cause me to fly off a wall. I found that out when I took an edible in Colorado and spent the entire time freaking out because Nancy Regan told me just say No and she was right. My brother said that was a rookie mistake. Since I went to a recreational store they aren't always as good about asking questions. In a medical store they would have asked me if I had anxiety and not allowed me to purchase those. The second set of edibles we got at a different store and those were awesome. I was in a great mood and slept fantastic. They were like the fruit gummies shaped like orange and watermelon slices. Wish we had kept the bag so we could know the brand. Third set had a wee bit too much THC. There is no child size dose. The first one I spent all night trapped on the bed because my brain thought it was skyscraper tall and I would fall to my death. Second night I had a depressive episode. DH said that was enough edibles for me. I decided I am done with cannabis unless we could find the second set of gummies again.

OMG, first edible I ever had was something stupid, like 50 mg, and I did not realize it until I ate and I absolutely should have quartered that thing. Holy shit. My friends are good at making gummies so that's all I do now in gummy form. They make 6 mg (perfect for right before bed) and 12 mg (perfect for a little high). I need to learn one day. Flower, no big deal. Gummies are a whole 'nother world. Younger me would be so impressed with the quality and accessibility we enjoy now.

I mostly don’t want to leave a paper trail that proves I tried anything I may or may not have some minimal experience, that may or may not have failed entirely to produce a high but succeeded in making me really focused and productive. If nothing else addressing the ADHD would help a lot. The last couple of times Dad visited, when he was still semi lucid, he referred to basically intending to spend the rest of his life on MJ. Unfortunately, it was not legal in the state where he wound up spending his last year or so. Bro did move him to assisted living before he got formally kicked out of his condo for stinking up the place…but I had a hard enough time supplying him with tobacco and nonalcoholic wine in the AL.

I totally forgot we have concert tickets in October! That reminded me to email the venue about a question I had. The concert starts at 8 and the parking ramp ticket says 7:30. I don't know if they really won't let us in the ramp until 7:30, but that seems to be cutting it short if traffic is a nightmare in the area. I'm one that likes to be super-freaking early to things like this even if it means just hanging out in the car for awhile.

DN3 is the one with the concussion issues so concerts are not his thing with the loud music. His brain can't handle it.
So his wife and step son are going to Chicago to see Bruce Springsteen for the boy's 8th birthday. I hope he has listened to enough of Bruce's music to enjoy. He was really excited when he told me about it. I'm sure he has never been to a stadium concert.
He may be too young to be impressed with Wrigley Field, too.

NomoreDramaQ1015 has a good point about the specific strain of weed. I've had edibles that actually precipitated a headache, and some that defnitely don't but leave you feeling groovy.

So my new employer has a thing for Christmas where instead of having a party, they rent out 6 flags for the employees and family. You get in before the park opens and they have a huge lunch for everyone. Then you can stay the rest of the day if you want with your family. The girls really want to go. They haven't been to TX in several years.

South now of Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE. Next up I'm pretty sure is Baltimore, then BWI, then DC, where I'll get an Uber to go to the rental car place. They don't like setting up shop in Union Station, so there it is. DD is on a tear. She has packed 2 trunks, 12 boxes and bagged up give aways and throw aways. Yeah.

I had weird bad dreams last night, and a tough time going back to sleep after one of them. So far I've showered, fixed breakfast, done two loads of laundry, and ostensibly finished the bylaws project. At this point I've been through them so many times I can't really see them objectively to catch any errors still existing. I'm sending off to the Board President this afternoon with a prayer or 10.

Been working scraping wallpaper off the bathroom wall. Not something I planned to do but DIL started ripping the paper off, so not much I could do than. So we have been doing that all afternoon. After she left at 7 I scrapped another half a wall, so there wouldn't be gouges. I should have done a different one. I quit about 9 and cleaned it up and showered. It will look much brighter I know. But now she is wanting to pull the light box down over the sink, NOOOOOO. It was originally built in here. Even hubs tries not to bother anything on the ceiling of these things. There is little to fasten too and a 50 year old manufactured home could have all type of issues up in there. I don't know, if I can get it across to her. That is something I'm not even brave enough to do and I will fix and change a lot of things. We got the estimate for the heat pump, seems to be about $7k. Hubs said up to you, you decide, I hate it when he does that. It's always tough to figure out if a person should invest $$ in a property, especially if you aren't sure you'll live there long enough to recoup the cost. On the other hand, sometimes a person has to look at how much the investment will add to their quality of life during their occupancy, whether or not they make it back when selling.

Bruce does an amazing high-energy show, 2.5 hours with no opening act or break. I saw him once in St. Louis, probably early 2000s. It was unforgettable.
I believe that the companies that make gummies can only sell them at retailers within the state where they are manufactured. So unless you were to go back to Colorado or wherever, you might not be able to buy the same brand locally.
When I move or travel from state to state, I find the gummy brands are different.
I think the dose is key. I once did an edible a friend gave me and only after I swallowed it did I think that maybe the tablet's cutting line down the middle was there for a reason. I was expecting to be focused and productive. After an hour I got a huge rush and all sorts of physical symptoms that made me think I might have to call an ambulance. Four hours after that, I was back to normal. Now, I do gummies at bedtime, 5 mg each. Low dose. It helps.
A friend of mine had to go to the ER after ingesting too much. She'd put her gummies in the glove compartment and they sort of melted together so she estimated what one gummy's worth would be. When the high wore off, she was fine. But yeah, watch the dose. It can scare you.
