Flooring is not done, but progress was made. It's just slow going.

When we were living in Florida, Pink Cashmere, some folks whose houses were close to the beach posted signs at the end of their driveway warning that anyone who blocked their driveway would be towed at their own expense. Maybe get a sign like that for your driveway? Some folks never learned to respect others when growing up.

Our cove is off of a street that you aren’t allowed to park on, so once the cove is full of cars, the only alternative is to park somewhere else and walk to our houses. I understand why that is less than desirable, but that still doesn’t give people the right to block our driveway, or theirs if it’s us having guests. I think that if I mention it to the T’s the next time they give us an heads up that they are having a lot of guests (which they always do), they won’t be offended and will handle it. They usually entertain in their backyard, where their pool is, so I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they probably don’t know their guests have blocked our driveway, because they are in their backyard with said guests, where they can’t see how they parked. Overall, they are awesome neighbors, and I think we can probably address it for the future without things getting ugly.

It is very pretty out here today. But it did get hot, think its to be a bit cooler tomorrow.
I thought this was Sunday, I lose track of days. And since son works on Wed and Thursday and maybe Monday, him being home doesn't help me either.
I talk to hubs everyday and I do miss him and I tell him so. Grandson and his mom went swimming today or to the lake, maybe not swimming. He likes playing in the water and they are both getting some tan. They are so white it looks good on them. grandson is getting freckles on his nose. My suits are old and I didn't bring any, I've looked at Lands End but the decent ones on sale are $100 each for DD and I. I guess I need to look elsewhere. I also told hubs I'm going to watch going to the grocery too and make a list. That is ridiculous to spend that much on food. We have enough meat in the freezer for a couple of weeks at least. I don't want to leave a lot here as we won't be back till at least October, then only me for a couple of weeks I imagine.
I ordered an insulated curtain for DD's room and ours, only need 3 pair, so not bad. I want some new ones in the living room, warm ones for when we are here in December. If we get a heat pump it should lower our bill.
I need to look again but PG&E doesn't even show kwh's used on the bill or anything, just the amount of money owed and paid, that's crazy,I like to see what I'm using. I do autopay, maybe I should have a statement sent instead.
If I am still so tired when I get back home, I'm going to get a checkup. I haven't done that much and even if I'm older don't think I should feel that tired all the time. I must admit I am really enjoying watching telly. DD is watching her TV a lot more. I think little guy likes being here because its quiet and peaceful. I love having him but going to have son and DIL keep him at times, I don't think I can handle it full time. But I think I'm lucky to be able to enjoy him as much as I have and do.
All is good, I'm pretty happy but wish hubs was with me and my babies too. I asked hubs how they are today, that I miss them too. He said they haven't asked about you even once, silly guy, LOL! Wonder if they will remember me after 2 months?
I will cook our steak and baked potato later, we both had a bit of tuna salad for lunch and it wan't early so neither of us is really hungry yet.
Our truck driver renter had a wreck in Iowa today. He sent pictures of the semi and it tore it up pretty good. Said it was in a construction zone, sounds like he was forced into the barriers. Didn't look like anyother vehicles, but the wheels were even pushed off. He said he hit his head and back and got checked but sounds like he is ok. I told him, I imagine he will really be sore for awhile and glad he wasn't hurt bad. Poor guy has more troubles. I gave hubs the information too. He got home, I'm surprised he didn't have hubs come and get him, wonder how he got home?

When my mom had to have surgery, she gave Tigrik to a friend who lived on the other side of the city, for safekeeping, as she didn't trust her husband or the small girls to look after him. Tigrik ran away from the friend's house and she was really heartbroken. Five months go by, and it was now winter. We were having breakfast in the kitchen, and we heard scratching at the kitchen window. It was Tigrik. He was barely recognizable....he was a bloody mess. He's been in fights with animals and people, crossed busy highways, and it looked like he'd been kicked around a lot. He was starved. However, he HAD to get back to his people and nothing would deter him. So yes, they'll remember you after 2 months.

DD just yelled mom, mom, there is a spider on my bed hurry, hurry. Luckily I just bought spray to use around the rooms and had not yet. I am terrified of them, but when your DD is in a panic you just do things. It was a fair sized one, I grabbed a shoe and got it. It was on the upper part of her blanket.
Now I will be looking our beds over before night. I found 3 dead ones in her closet and vacced them up the other day. This is the first live one I've seen, I kept intending to get the attachments out and sweep them up, the sweeper head wouldn't get them, been there since we bought it and I just did 2 days ago. The spray makes me half sick so I turned on the vent fans and opened a couple of windows to air it. I sprayed all around her room and her closet and my room and closet too. Need to do the bathrooms.
I told her tomorrow we will get bug bombs and put them off and leave for a couple of hours. I will have DIL do that before we come home after being gone. An empty house is an attractant for sure.
But now I will be paranoid about them. I'm already itching just thinking about it, damn.
I got bit on the leg years ago by one I'm sure, took months for it to heal and I have a dip in the bone on that spot so sure don't want that again.
This place isn't sealed up like our house is. I have never seen one in it. But hubs also sprays now to keep those beetles down and it keeps the other bugs out too.
I have some things I'm going to press, I'm not keeping our clothes as well kept and need to. I like neat and pressed clothing and jeans with creases in them.

And I'd be freaking out for hours, if not days. Yikes! I suggest you spray with Ortho Home Defense. It lasts for several months, safe for pets and works extremely well. And it's not spendy. Pick it up at Walmart. Oh, and it's not smelly, IMO.

There is one exception to that as one spider discovered in the middle of the night a few years back. It decided to drop onto my tits while I was on the toilet half asleep. THAT woke me up believe you me. And the death sentence for the spider was executed without hesitation within a few seconds. No second chances, not even a hesitation during which it could escape.

Good morning, indefatigable invisipeeps, keeping your homes in order. Happy Sunday to you. I hope this day offers you some peace and ease and an opportunity to imbibe in spirits or ice cream as you like. Spent yesterday in iffy weather punctuated by warm and windy at the arts and crafts fair. It went okay. Attendance was nothing like it was the first time we went, plus one of our pegboard screens blew down with pictures hanging all over it. Two of them broke on the sidewalk. The photos were not damaged but the glass shattered. THis, after some rain while we were setting up. DSis came to visit with us, too, so that was extra nice, at the fair. Most attendees were interested in food booths and those with crafts for children. We did meet a couple of people who were on made jewelry and have gotten into organizing fairs themselves. They recommended some fairs nearby as good ones, so I signed up for one of them at the end of September and took their card. I'm tired. Because it's not raining I'll take Franklin the Dog to the beach in a few minutes then get some sleep. I got this shot in my early evening, after the event, walk with Franklin. The Canadian geese have taken up residence in the marina. I thought the sunlight was like jewels.

Still undecided on the water heater. I voted to just do the element for now and worry about replacing the whole unit after our getaway. DH wants to just do the whole thing now, but I may have convinced him to wait. We'll see when he wakes up.
And a few days ago I noticed what appears to be bug bites on my forearms. I know I got a few sitting outside earlier in the week, but it feels like more are popping up. Itchy too. I haven't changed anything and did a thorough check for bedbugs yesterday, even though we haven't been anywhere where we could have brought them home. DH noticed me scratching last night, so it is about to become a thing. Will pick up benadryl today to see if it helps.
I just wanted a relaxing week, but it appears the universe has other plans. 😔

This time last summer you were taking care of that huge garden and canning everything in sight while taking your grandson and daughter to swimming lessons, and taking him fishing - all while caring for that big house of yours. One more trip around the sun doesn't account for the change in your health.

I don't kill spiders in the house - the enemy of my enemy (insects) is my friend. I had to shoo one away the other day because he kept walking across the desk while I was working on documents - he was a little one about the size of my pinky nail but he was very persistent

I tell myself it was because it was new unprimed wallboard but yeeesh I just couldn’t do any more. Tried lawn moving once. Nope, my eyes swelled so much looked like hard boiled eggs with blue yolk. Thank you for your kind words. We painted DS's room a bright green at his request. It was beyond the point of being able to clean the walls without lifting color off or leaving cleaner on the wall. We have another round of decluttering to do in his room. Then we need to move to ours to paint.
We don't have the money to hire it out. I also am more willing to tackle home projects. Our bathrooms need to be redone. I'm considering trying tiling. I mean. It's a 70s bathroom. It's small. If it doesn't work out, it's pretty low stakes.
I do want to try to get our upstairs in decent enough condition so that if something happens to me, DH can muddle through without having to worry about updating a whole house while having minor kids at home. Plus, the missy is still in a toddler bed. The girls' room is becoming unsustainable for them.

I took DS out driving this morning. He has some things to work on. But, overall, it went better than I anticipated. After about 25 minutes he got the starting and stopping smoothly down pretty well. And I am thankful that I had to say things like "You, know, it's OK to drive 15 miles an hour or please go faster than I can walk." It could have been the other way around.

Hoping DN3 doesn't forget to stop by this afternoon to install the grab bar in the garage.
Maddow's automatic feeder isn't working correctly. It isn't dropping food at the times that are programmed in. I'm going to put most of Amelia's food in the feeder bin so she only has access to the lowest amount the feeder will give her.
Today she is definitely acting like she is feeling better. Vet said if she didn't show improvement by mid week to bring her back and they would give her the steroid shot. He really doesn't want to give her steroids every flare.

Looks like water was getting too hot. Hit reset button, waiting to see if water gets hot. If not, we will replace heating element and thermostat today. If water gets hot, we will treat it as a one of unless it happens again - and will replace element and thermostat.

I'm ready to be home. We got to the hotel Friday night and the in laws didn't have a reservation. FIL called to make the reservation and didn't get a confirmation number. Of course they were sold out despite the app and third party sites showing rooms. I called the elite line since I have status.
They called the hotel and confirmed the system wasn't updating but all rooms were sold. I gave in laws our room. Elite line found me a room at a hotel in the same chain half a mile up the hill.
Saturday morning was rough emotionally for me. Sunday we get up and there was no hot water.
Despite them requiring a credit card from FIL, both rooms were charged to my card.
I hope we have better luck next weekend. That is a hotel we've stayed at half a dozen times.

Between the wild fire haze and now more rain my sinuses are trying to explode.
Used some Flonase and about to take some Sudafed.
Going to try to sign up to donate plasma today. I finally weigh enough to meet the requirements.
I've always wanted to because I'm A negative so i can only get A negative blood. It's in my best interest.
I also found out because I'm A negative if I'm carrying a certain antibody my plasma can be used to make the Rhogam shot.
So that's exciting to me.
Still want to do a clinical trial but none have come up that works with my schedule. Plasma donating is on my time so it works better.

You can also take O negative, the universal donor. I'm O negative and can only take O negative.

I'm back in for the day already. It hit ninety just now at 10:00 AM. I started watching Succession yesterday, so I'm thinking I'll just put that back on and declutter my bedroom closet.

I have a few places to touch up in DS's room. We also started putting things back where they belong. Two more bags to good will. I said goodbye to the potential of getting my PhD. That one hurt.

I got my cameras moved around and installed. I washed myself as I was sweating like no other getting them set up. Sam's won't let me pick up a curbside order until tomorrow, so I'm going to have to go inside. Boo! Just as I got myself ready, it started to rain. Macy doesn't like loud noises, so I'm going to wait here until it dies down so she doesn't get too scared. So instead I'm eating leftover pizza.

giramomma, are you sure about the Ph.D? Is there no way in the future that you can leverage the work you've already done? That is hurtful, definitely.

long ass day today, I'm exhausted. it took me 2h to get to the bridal shower this morning, 3 to get down to pick up the pups, and then another 45min to get home after that. the shower was an um, interesting theme, that I'm not going to detail here in case any of the older generation is a lurker here. I've never been to a dry bridal shower before today, and where I knew just my family there, a mimosa might have taken the edge off the drive up there. jussayin... I saw parts of this state I've never seen before, as the GPS directed me new ways, and I'm okay with never seeing some of them again.... but I will never voluntarily go from very southeastern MA *through* Boston to go to very northeastern MA in the summer, esp when an airport access tunnel is closed for major repairs. cuz is lucky I love them. driving home, I realized that I hadn't really eaten much at the brunch, and was getting hangry/shaky. so I texted mooch and M to ask if they would join me for snacks and a solid cocktail, and we met up at the sports bar. I had a cup of soup and got a small pizza packed to go. pups and I got home about half an hour ago, and I'm about ready for bed. LD went to bed as soon as we walked in, Punk is pouting b/c I'm still up and on this screen here. I just wanted to catch up a little online before calling it a night. I'm absolutely wiped out. So I'm guessing you didn't rip M's head off or vice versa...

I'm under a blanket with Macy. I'm tempted to say screw Sam's and just go after work tomorrow. Maybe I'll make some chili.

We made a short stop to get gas at Sam's on the way to church this morning. That's about the only time there isn't a long line at the pumps.
The wildfire smoke is still hanging around, and I've got the sore eyes to prove it. We're not expecting any real rain until Wednesday, so I don't expect to be doing much outside the next several days.
