Okay, so I just got a really fun volunteer project . Despite being the only person on our board of directors without a college degree, I appear to be the only one who can create a correctly spelled, punctuated, and formatted Word document. That means I have to edit the new proposed corporate bylaws (15 pages) and create a separate red-line version tracking the proposed changes, both of which must be posted to our website. In the process I hope to convince our president (a really close friend) that it's "bylaws" not "bilaws"; she is notorious for her spelling errors. Oh well, it's going to be 100 or hotter every day for the next week so it's a good indoor project. You're SO lucky! 😉 Bilaws sound kind of like inlaws! 🤭

Dark load of laundry in. Added categories to my web site successfully to make it easier to navigate. Queued up an SEO webinar to watch. Walked Franklin the Dog very early this morning. It started with sprinkling and was a steady rain when we headed back from the beach. Now he needs brushing, as he is dry now. Nothing like a very furry dog on a wet July day. I went rhrough an emotional roller coaster yesterday. DH's nephrologist's office called to schedule him to see a surgeon who will implant the catheter for dialysis. I calmly took the information but my heart was racing. He had told me dialysis is a distance away yet. When he awoke I was feeling salty but just told him he had the appointment. It's a mistake, he said. Then he needs to call the office, I replied. He's just supposed to have an appointment to meet the surgeon. Not get the catheter. Oh, it's just a pre-op. Yes, that way when the time does come he'll be ready. Oh. This made me realize how totally unready I am for him to go down that path. Even hemodialysis at night. It's the medicalization of life as we know it. And I do not want that to be true. Are you sure that it would be hemodialysis at night? That sounds like it would be peritoneal dialysis. We did it at home for my son.

That house I was looking at dropped 20K in price today after 2 weeks on the market. It just has to do that 4 or 5 more times and it will be in my price range. There's an open house on Sunday so I'm going to try and make that. It’s a beautiful house but where would you put Gus and all your barn animals?

I finished washing all the outside windows and screens. When moving the ladder I squashed a finger, not to bad but it hurt. Then I was snipping a shrub and nipped off the very end of a finger. Just a little nip of skin but it bled like everything.
My windows look so nice , shiny, and crisp. I have our bedrooms to clean on the inside but quit this afternoon. I already watered the plants. I need to plant the 4 dusty miller I bought for a $1 each. Also need to plant the other 3.
I took the kids and we went to a discount store DIL and son went too, before us. It was ok, I guess, I bought some thread for here and found a larger comb you can't find anymore.
We were all hungry so found a chinese buffet close by. The place was awesome, they had a variety like I have never seen before. From prawns to bok choy, to kimchee, and every kind of dish and soup you can name. I had baked sole, was fabulous. Little guy did pretty good, he ate more than DD and I ate to much. Not fattening stuff but good. They also had all kinds of sushi and even a chocolate fountain. It was plain outside and didn't even say it was chinese, found it on my phone. We will definitely go back, but $61 for the 3 of us.
Soup, thanks for the heads up but I know that now. I had the scope where they were to stretch my esophagus and too much food was in my stomach. I had not eaten anything like I was told. I will make sure I tell them and if they don't have me eliminate a dose before anything I will do it on my own. One week won't hurt me. The place on my wrist isn't huge but sometimes hurts up my whole arm. Its hurting on the bone below my thumb now.
The Place where I fell in the theater is healing well, finally no bandaid on it, but its pretty deep and I think its going to leave a real scar. I have scars all over my arms.
Tomorrow I will wash those 3 windows inside and clean out the inside of my car. I haven't decide yet if I'm going to paint my patio. Will have to scrub it and clean it good if I decide too.It would look nice and stay clean better but as hubs says noone will see it, I don't care, I will see it.
Need to go turn the fan off in the shed, I have it blowing the very stale smelling air out. Guess I need to put one of those buckets of Damp Rid in it. I don't think anything is wet, just been closed up forever. The house is smelling better with the underneath open.

Good morning, industrious invisipeeps, socializing and cleaning and writing bilaws (hah!) and doing R & R on porches. Welecome to Saturday. I hope your day provides you with grins and giggles and some guffaws, too. Mirth is a good antidote for most states of down. I'm listening to a thunderstorm. I won't be going to the beach with Franklin the Dog this morning due to the rain. Instead I'll pack up the car for the show. Need to get there by 8, I think, to set up the canopy, table and screens and hang the pictures. Have to be open by 10. Hoping for little or no rain later today. People are visiting my website, which pleases me enormously. Have to get more business cards. It was raining yesterday most of the day. We did get to the beach and fort in the late afternoon. Here is Franklin the Dog on top of the Revolutionary War fort overlooking the bay and harbor. He loves to sit there and watch the people walking on the hurricane barrier causeway, and walking and wading in the little beach at the fort foot.

Of course you're right, Peace77; it's peritoneal and not hemodialysis DH is willing to consider. I'll have to fix the post from yesterday.

Watching "The Kitchen" before heading to the chiropractor. Then home to wash clothes and bedding before heading out tomorrow. I like coming home to clean sheets.

I should get moving. I need to go pick up a card and some cash for it. need to leave my house by 9ish, to go up to Salem for my cousin's bridal shower. at least it stopped raining, bc it was way too cozy laying here, listening to the rain.
and now I'm hearing Edwin McCain in my head. 🤪

You all probably don’t remember, but for a few years, I talked about how badly my wardrobe was lacking, and I didn’t know where to even start trying to get it together. I literally had to go try to find something to wear if I needed to dress nicely, and I actually missed some events because I didn’t have anything appropriate to wear and couldn’t find anything to buy. I had a few items that I liked and fit me well, but it was all mismatch, they didn’t necessarily work together to create an outfit. And it was seriously overwhelming to me, to try to build a wardrobe from scratch. It didn’t help that I apparently am missing a female gene because I don’t like shopping. Then I discovered StichFix. I have used them for several years now. And I’ve gone in the opposite direction of not having a “wardrobe”, to having wayyyyy too many clothes now. Now I have lost the weight I gained after I moved here with Mister, although I don’t recommend the method at all, but now my clothes fit me again. So tonight, I know I can pull something together from my closet and feel good wearing it. I’m not vain, well maybe a little bit, but I do like to feel like I look good when I go out. Actually, I probably am vain or something, because when I really get all dolled up, I feel like I’m the bees knees and whatever else you might want to call it, as long as you aren’t trying to dim how I’m shining lol. If I feel like I’m really showing out with all my chocolate goodness shining, I feel like EVERYBODY needs to see me, so take me on a world tour, or at least here and there in whatever city I’m in lol. But that’s very rare that I’m that extra, and I admit it’s probably some arrogance involved in those moments lol. I don’t feel like putting that much effort into going to dinner tonight, but I’m glad that I don’t have to stress out about what I’m going to wear to dinner, like I would’ve had to do before. Too bad we don't live in the same city. I'd have you looking good on a budget. I love deal hunting.

Well, Macy's still alive so I'm guessing she's not allergic to whatever the bug she caught was.

A friend of our family, something happened to her son as a young adult, and he has been in a facility for at least 20 years. She goes to see him every day. One of my male coworkers took care of his Mom when she got really sick 4 or 5 years ago. He was doing everything, including cleaning her, even though like he said to me “you know I didn’t want to have to deal with her lady parts”, but he did, because his Mom was his girl. He finally accepted that he couldn’t keep doing it all, and she was moved to a facility to care for her. He went to see her and sit with her every single day, either on his way to work, or after he got off work at night, often both. When he went on vacation with his wife, he made arrangements for someone else to go sit with her every day while he was gone. Apparently the facility she was in, would put up different inspirational messages posted at the entrance, and sometimes he would post a picture of the message on FB, and say he saw it at this “place he stops by every night”. I knew it was at the facility his Mom was in. He’s never really wanted to hear that he was a good son, or how he took such good care of his Mom. To him, he was only doing what he was supposed to do, and he did it because he loved her so much. Everybody that knew him, knew that he was crazy about his Mom. Unfortunately, she got COVID and died early in the pandemic. After the pandemic started, he couldn’t even sit with her anymore, no visitors were allowed in the facility. Then she got COVID and died. I can only imagine how difficult that was for him. He and I talked a little about it, but I mostly just listened because I didn’t know what to say. I am really in awe of how devoted he was to his Mom when she needed him the most, and I have a lot of respect for him for how he cared for her. But imo, that also says a lot about what kind of Mom she was. It’s been a couple of years now, and he still is not really okay after losing her. My son loves me and even at 38, he tells me so every single day. I wouldn't want him at the nursing home every day or twice a day. I'd want him to visit maybe once a week or even once every 2 weeks. I'd want him to have a life of his own, and that kind of dedication should go towards his wife and children. That's how life should work, and not spending all his time with his mommy at the nursing home. We used to have such visitors at the home where I worked. They'd come every single day and once we even found one man curled up with his mom in her bed. It's not normal. Let me guess....this guy was single? They're always single. No, he was married. His children were adults, and he still spent time with his wife too. He and his wife worked different hours, so when he would stop and sit with his Mom on his way home from work at night, it didn’t take away time from his wife. It wasn’t some creepy kind of thing. His Mom was like his best friend and he wanted to be there for her when she got sick, and he was. After she went into a facility, he still wanted to spend time with her and make sure she was being taken care of, so he did. I don’t get how that was weird.

The dinner went fine. The lady I don’t like didn’t come, so that worked out. The food was still nasty. I ordered salmon and zucchini, it had some fancy name, but that’s all it was. Idk how they’re still in business lol.

For years I intentionally didn't seek out or cultivate friendships because I didn't have time for them. I had my own family of course, but I had limited time with dgm and she was who mattered. After she passed I realized that my parents and dsis were still my highest priority (after taking care of my family still). I'm just now at a spot to start making friends, but it's still limited. I'm lucky that my birth family are my friends too.

I treated myself to an early bedtime last night and greatly enjoyed getting an extra hour of sleep. I started the day with a text exchange with my buddy, the board president. We're definitely going to need someone to destroy our phones upon death After breakfast I ran a load of laundry, mopped, and just applied weed killer and bug killer on the yard. I still need to trim one tree, but at 10 am it's 86 degrees and 77% humidity so I'm done outside for the day.

The neighbor kids are apparently having a massive all weekend party. There must be 15 cars in their yard and the generators are running in all the campers. I thought for sure they'd be sleeping in this morning after going all night, but the music is still blaring. I miss my 93 year old neighbors. Worst part is I can't just let the dog out like I normally do.

The wildfire smoke came back here yesterday. I could feel it as my eyes were burning, and now this morning I'm coughing again. This has definitely been an interesting Summer, but not one I'd care to repeat. We should be outside enjoying the warmer temps, not hiding indoors to avoid bad air.

I got an alert this morning, Mr. T was outside finishing up his yard. I just looked at ours again, it’s still a mess. I text Mister and asked was he still going to cut the grass today and he said he can’t because it’s wet.
I am irritated. Mrs. T text me a few days ago to give me a heads up that Mr. T’s Mom’s funeral is today and his family is coming to their house today, so there will be a lot of cars in the cove. If he could get up early on the day of his Mom’s funeral to make sure his yard looks nice, why does ours have to look like shit? Why did it get so ridiculous in the first place.
We are the only 2 houses in the cove, and I feel like the least we could’ve done was do our part to make things look nice for their guests. Which is in addition to the fact that I don’t like having to walk through tall grass when I go tend to my tomatoes. Ugh!

I took the dog to the farmer's market this morning. My favorite produce lady wasn't there today. I did get a nice framed sunflower print for $40, though. And a huge pack of hollyhock seeds for $1. I'll spend the rest of the day indoors because it's going to be another hot one.

Flooring at dsis house this afternoon. I don't wanna, but... I want it done, and we might get it done. Her roommate is home though. The roommate tends to have a lot of opinions and provides no assistance which I just don't handle all that well. I mean...it's not my house and I'm putting in 50% of the labor and 100% of the money. I want dsis opinion on things, but the roommate really needs to stay out of the way.
Then I need to look at paneling. I think it's ferpa maybe? Basically plastic paneling for the walls to keep it easy for them to clean.

Today is DS's 21st birthday. Like the responsible family/neighbors we are the plan is to take him to the local bar. But, before that, I need to mow and get some stuff done around the house and I just don't want to. It is so humid outside. On the plus side I think it drove the neighbors party indoors and/or to the river. Lots of vehicles, but nobody outside anymore.

I got up at 10, but like normal still tired.
On schedule today: Wash the 3 inside windows DONE Mop the bathroom floors DONE Plant the few plants I bought DONE
String little guys rod and reel DONE No book or instructions so one loop maybe should have been passed, will find out soon.
See if I can get fishing license on line non resident fishing license $82.50! DONE If I have time, vac my car out
So what am I doing so far? Sitting on my buns
Fix DD and I's pills DONE ALSO
Son sent message about going out to dinner tonight. I told him had a steak thawed for DD and I and honestly I'm tired so doubt I go.
I had told him he needed to do stuff with DIL some weekends so he ran around yesterday and sounds like they are going out for dinner tonight, that's good. He is like his dad you have to suggest these things, they don't get it or something.
I will be better as the day goes on, my biological clock is different or something.
Also washed a small load of clothes DONE

Chicken soup may seem like an odd choice for a hot day, but I have half a bag of Shanghai tips getting old in the veggie drawer so they are going in a pot of chicken broth with onion, celery, corn, green beans, chicken breast, and egg noodles. I'll add some garlic naan from the freezer and call it dinner
