I think the heart doc gave me the amplodopine for angina. When he started treating me I had been to the ER several times with chest pain, so he started it. I'm pretty sure that is what he prescribed it for, it's at the lowest dose. That makes sense - I forgot about your angina, but now I remember you saying you had to carry nitro tabs everywhere in case of an episode

Target order has been placed, so I have to get off my ass at some point. I got some new palettes since Sephora was having a big sale. I've wanted them for a long time, but was too cheap to pay for them. Well, they were half off, so I got them. They're really pretty.

Closing did happen, but it was a nail biter. I have had bad vibes about my buyers, even though they are my neighbors, from the beginning. So I was a little dismayed when I showed up for closing, and I was the only one there. The husband, who is the real buyer, was sick. But things have changed in the last 19 years since I bought a house, though, so they could sign remotely. Fine. although I did wonder why we hadn't planned on signing remotely all along to prevent this 4:00 closing time that cost me a full day of moving. But whatever . . . However, the attorney hadn't received their wire transfer. It was 4:15, and the attorney had begun calling branches of the buyer's bank to try to get some number that meant the wire transfer had taken place and we could proceed. The husband finally called the bank where his wife had gone to do it, yelled at them a bit, and we got the confirmation we needed. The second closing (my purchase) went fine. I have moved four loads already and just stopped to take a break. I truly love the house and am glad it all worked out!

My husband yells at my car a lot. I try to explain that it's a nice car and helpful and concerned about humanity. He calls it a sissy-la-la.

susana1954, I'm excited for you! I missed why you're moving, where you're moving, they buying & selling, and the whole moving process because I've been working on my dissertation and working too much. Are you moving closer to one of your kids/grandkids? I hope you can post pictures.

Going to see the musical Chess tonight. I think it's about the Russian chess champions during the cold war. Will be interesting to hear how they sing about it. Part of our season ticket package. Fortunately StL temps are in the high 80s. Chance for spotty storm at show time could be interesting as this is outdoor venue and they allow up to a 2 hour delay before cancelling. I’ve never seen the play but I bought the soundtrack back when it was the new thing. I really like it. And now I keep alternating between “I know him so well”, “One Night in Bangkok” and whatever the British diplomats ditty is called. I wonder if they’re still using the original lyrics for One Night in Bangkok. It gets a lot of grieve for the negative stereotypes which is fair but I tended to think of it as saying more about the jerk singing it than Bangkok. I hope you enjoy it Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it. At intermission DD14 said she couldn't care about any of the characters. I had trouble understanding the lyrics from 3 of the main actors and the ensemble was huge so garbled to me. I also got hung up on some of the instrument choices being weird- she said Abba will do that. I love that she's so knowledgeable about her passions. I tentatively proposed leaving and she actually said that would give her time to clean her room before vacation. ROFL. We joined a line of folks heading to the parking lot. First time doing that. We giggled on the way home trying to rank it among our other theater 'fails' - JC superstar and Cats.

Clue is in my package for the upcoming season. I liked Cats. JC superstar I couldn't wait for that to end. We had to duck out of My Fair Lady for airport pick up duty.
Cleared out of the beach house this morning and drove 2 hours further south to spend the weekend with some of my family who live here.

We have Clue tickets at a smaller theater. I'm intrigued but might let DD14 take a friend since it's an easy venue.
As she heads into sophomore year, I'm living on borrowed time so spending a small fortune in theater tickets but totally worth it for the time together. We had some great talks over dinner before the show last night. She'll be 15 soon and was asking about jobs. She's so busy with school and theater that dh and I are just not sure how adding a job is feasible even though we want her to learn thru work. Told her we will have to wing it as we go.

The insurance adjuster is here to assess the damage the HVAC leak caused.
I've done a cardio work out, watered the front yard plants, and have gotten dressed. We'll head out to run errands after the adjuster leaves.

Went to a local garden shop for rubber mulch and river rocks. I picked a peach/white rock this time, to use as filler between my front yard stepping stones. It's cloudy and 90 degrees out, but it's also still a thunder and lightning show, so the landscape project will likely continue tomorrow. I did wash sheets and blankets and towels, mopped and vacuumed floors over the last two days. I have a meet next weekend, so I won't be housework-useful then.

After breakfast we did the floors and I filled the bird feeders. DH went to get a haircut.
Had lunch at our favorite Lebanese place - shared a beef shawarma and some baba ghanoush. These folks are masters are marketing. The cash register is surrounded by all the desserts, candies, nuts, dried fruits etc. and temptation is off the charts.
The heavy rains this week mean our rain lilies are putting on a huge show - 20+ blooms on both the pink and white plants

One of our local, vocal "community leaders" is having an existential crisis, demanding to know what we are doing to address "the Texas malaria outbreak". Said "outbreak" consists of one case of mosquito-borne malaria found in a city 400 miles from us. This crazy super-Karen gives old women a bad name

I'm going out to weed, well its afternoon now. Little guy is staying with dad and mom over the weekend. I'm glad, love him to pieces, but I'm older and he is wearing me out. I don't want to admit it, but this old gal ain't what she used to be. His dad said he wanted him over the weekends, I think he recognizes it too.
He has toys here, his bike, his extra shoes, toothbrush, and a drawer in gramps dresser, so he is essentially moved in, LOL! He know how to get to you. His dad says I'm letting him watch you tube, yes, but not the stupid stuff and he uses my phone sometimes too, though much less. His dad said why do you want to stay at grandmas and he says because I love my grandma.
They stayed with us 6 months and little guy attached to us I think when he was very young. And Basil their little dog did too. He just throws a fit when I go there and snuggles on my lap, now Yoshi is doing it too. She just sits and stares at me and curls on my lap, they are good little dogs. DIL said she brought Basil here one day when watering and she said he sniffed and cried. He ran through the house looking for me and she said he was all upset when he didn't find anyone. He never forgets me either.
Hubs said Tigger is hanging on him wanting petted and hugged, I told him I pet them and snuggle with them all the time so they are likely missing it. He said Smoke goes in the garage till daylight than he lets him out and he hangs out in the flower bed all day. That is where he catches mice and probably the grass snakes he catches. I really miss my babies too. And really miss my dear old hubs. I told him I've been seeing some house prices go down up here, they are further out but also nice homes. He said the interest rates are finally taking a toll he thinks. But will do the same to ours.

I had just got comfortable sitting in the garage watching the rain when a huge nasty looking beetle crawled in front of me. I was in a panic trying to get any of the spray bottles of pesticide to spray and Kiddo came to the door and asked if I could get his Granddad a glass of ice. I said “he knows where the ice is”, and even if he didn’t, Mister was sitting in the den. I had to kill that bug so I didn’t have to go inside the house.
Well Mr. Messy opens the refrigerator and dumps the whole bin of ice on the floor. Mister was cleaning it up when I went back inside (still in a panic trying to figure out why tf none of the sprays were working), and he seemed aggravated. I just kept doing what I was doing. There’s cold water in the refrigerator, which is the only thing we have to drink anyway, so why was I supposed to stop what I was doing to get him some ice? NOT!
At least I managed to get the bug out of the garage into the driveway and killed it.

Well, I started a fight with our ice maker last week, so I'll put that one aside.
I had a ladybug land on me and try to come home in my car after errands today. I put her back outside.
I hope you took your frustration out on the bug, Pink Cashmere

I get a phone call from my best friend in NY. She asks me if I know this person, I do. He went to school with my brother and sister and was between their classes. I graduated with his sister, and he had another sister a year behind me.
It turns out my friend’s niece is marrying the nephew of my old HS classmate.

countrygirl2 You may have seen where I posted about my friend enrolling her 7 and 9 year-old sons in a 2-week cooking day camp and how much fun they are having. You like to cook - how about teaching your grandson something fun and rewarding like making pasta, or bread, or cookies. You said he's interested in math and science stuff and cooking is a great combination of both. Nothing helps develop an understanding of fractions better than 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 tablespoon etc., and the magic of bread rising because live yeast feeds and multiplies never ceases to amaze (he would probably get a giggle from punching it down after the first rising), especially when you get to eat the bread hot out of the oven with butter. Or Google how to make your own butter in a little Mason jar - he can shake, shake, shake, and then put the resulting butter on his potatoes. Or make some quick pickles (refrigerator pickles) he can enjoy in a couple of weeks. These are activities the two of you could share without exhausting you so much, and expand his horizon too.

IMHO, you applied that spray to the wrong "pest" - should have treated the one in the house instead of the one on the deck

Well, I learned something new. My aunt's well went out (after just 3 years ) and the well guys can't get out this weekend, so they said just run a hose from their other property (they have a rental farm next door on another well). They ran a hose from an outside hydrant up to an outside faucet on the side of their house and have water just like normal now. I never knew you could do that! I mean, makes sense, but it was the whole putting water in where it was supposed to come out thing that threw me. LOL That's been the extent of my day so far.

Why did he the bin of ice on the floor? Dd you document this? Your guess is as good as mine as to why he did it. Document it how? Keep a book or journal of incidents showing he should not live on his own. This qualifies. Mister needs to address the fact his dad should not live alone and can be a danger to himself and others. That is not a normal reaction to being asked to get ice.

We welcomed a new dog to the family today. He's seven years old, border collie and chihuahua mix, and named Bear. His person passed away about a week ago. He's trying to figure out WTF just happened.

Mister needs to address the fact his dad should not live alone and can be a danger to himself and others. That is not a normal reaction to being asked to get ice. I don’t think dropping an ice bin necessarily means a person can’t live by themself. We all drop things. Breaking a window and saying “God” told him to do it, yes. But not dropping the ice. Mister knows his Dad shouldn’t live alone. That’s why his brother and Horseface have an excuse to live for free in Mr. Messy’s house. And as long as Mister is here when he brings him over here, I no longer care what they do. My attitude still sucks because of the way he treated DD and my Grandchildren last weekend, so it’s best that I just stay away from him. My Grandmomma taught me to keep my mouth shut if I don’t have anything nice to say, and I don’t want her to reach down from heaven and pinch me for acting ugly with Mr. Messy.
