You all inspired me to log into my Linkedin account for the first time in a long while. I have two connections. My old boss/former YM friend from a PT job and my SIL. There's also been a pending request for years from a guy whose brother I dated for awhile. LOL Obviously climbing the corporate ladder is not high on my list, but we all knew that about me already.

The 3 police cars that responded to DD’s call are at a house at the other end of the street. Then a fire truck came, then an ambulance. I ASSume the police called paramedics since the police were at the house first.
One of the times DD had said she saw him, she said a lady in a van pulled up, they were yelling each other, then he got in the van and they drove off. That same van is at the house where the police are. That makes a lot of stuff make sense. DD had said wen she’s seen him, he’s just sitting on the curb on the corner with some garbage bags, like he just got put out. So I guess he and that lady live together, she makes him leave, and he just goes down to the other end of the street and sits there. And it explains why he didn’t have shirt on this morning and didn’t call the police himself, if she was the one shooting at him. It’s plausible that he just ran outside without putting a shirt on.
Of course I don’t know any of that to be true, it’s just me putting the pieces together from what DD has seen and what’s happened today, and it makes sense to me.
ETA: now that I think some more, maybe that’s why they didn’t talk to DD, they already knew who he was when they saw him, if there’s a domestic violence situation at that house.

I've been doing some clearing up this morning. I had a bunch of little stuff that I needed to get done online and on the phone and needed to get it done. I had been dragging my feet about it.
Paid off our next cruise, we are doing Northern Lights in Jan/Feb. The vouchers we got for missing Greenland took care of the major chunk of that. Booked the flights for that cruise, with time at either end in both Bergen and London.
Then I called Cigna and ordered a new prescription card, I lost mine somewhere. I got my new numbers, so that I could go online with Express Scripts and order my maintenance meds. LOL! I'm not sure how, but they had all my info already, including the prescriptions I needed refilled. Check, check, check, check, check and all was done. Easy peasy! My cynical mind now wonders how it's going to get screwed up, it was entirely too easy.

But now that it seems that it was a domestic violence situation and he actually lives over there, it’s still not good, but it is a bit of a relief to know where he lives and that he wasn’t some random person that popped up in the neighborhood and some bad guys were chasing him and shooting at him for God knows what reason. I wasn’t just afraid he might break into the house, I was also afraid that whoever was shooting at him would find him in my backyard and start shooting again, putting my folks in danger from stray or intentional bullets.

So my Mom upset my nerves again this afternoon, and my reaction was to go tend to my tomatoes. It wasn’t a conscious thing, but now I’m thinking that my gardening efforts might really be a form of therapy like they say it can be. Even though when I’m picking beans or handling my tomato plants, I’m always jumpy, afraid I’ll run into a scary bug lol. Boy has scared the crap out of me many times when I’ve been picking beans in the bed on the deck. I’ll be on one side of the bed, and catch sudden movement in my peripheral, and it’s the white tip of his tail when he’s walking between the bed and the wall. I can’t say that I’m getting over my fear of bugs, but at least I’m not letting those fears keep me from doing something I enjoy. At least, not yet. That’s progress, right?

So another thing on LinkedIn. Remember I had that incompetent assistant at the last job? He made a LinkedIn profile and my former boss just sent me a screen shot of it. It said he attended Hondros College and has (self study) next to it. When I was getting ready to Google it because I'd never heard of it, she tells me that's where you get your book to study for the insurance licensing exam. I about died laughing. I told her that means I self studied at AD Banker. 🤣 I found it also ironic that he leans pretty far to the right (I poked that bear all the time), but he included his pronouns. Isn't that a little woke of him? I seriously can't make this shit up.

DH has to work tonight. So just hanging out with Kiddo doing whatever we want. I did a couple loads of laundry earlier while WFH so no pressing chores to worry about this evening.

So glad it all resolved, Pink Cashmere. Good for you, daisylu, making it through your presentation. Menopause is fuckery. I've been on LinkedIn for a long time, 20 years or more that I remember. It is valuable as a networking tool. Don't link to anyone you don't want in your network, but do seek out those you want to, is my advice. We're back from Maine where we had a fine time with ODB, YDB, his GF and DSis. It rained most of the day yeasterday but we dove into a lobster and corn dinner and emerged in time for some really good fireworks on the beaches. They don't bother Franklin the Dog at all. The sound did a job on DSis's dog, though, who tried to burrow under her. Going this evening to see some fireworks here that were postponed from the other night when it poured apparently. The touchpad on my laptop has stopped communicating with the computer, so it's an irrittant that is scheduled for a fix in the next few days. I have professional support, so it'll be okay. It's hard to work on this thing, though, using a regular mouse. My hands are skilled on the touchpad and keep getting lost.

Now there’s a damn helicopter circling overhead, which usually means the police are looking for somebody. I can’t see if it a marked police helicopter to be sure, because the sun is too bright. But since it’s circling the area, it probably is.
Good grief!
I’m not going inside. Imma keep sitting here on the deck, and if anybody pops up, they’ll be sorry. This is kinda too much now.

I’m trying. Yes, between last night and now, there have been plenty of stressors. And I had the date of my appointment wrong, it’s actually tomorrow. Where I am sitting on the deck, I can see if someone is in my backyard in the daylight. And the dogs are out here with me, they smell and hear stuff out of the ordinary and bark before I’m aware of it. And I am prepared to defend myself if necessary. I need this time outside for real right now, so I refuse to go hide in the house.

Pink glad your family is ok but terrifying! Your DGS is a smart little boy!! Give yourself and DD and her kids a hug from one of your invisible internet friends Thank you! I am very proud of DGS.. I told DD to praise him for doing everything right. I’m not sure I would’ve even been able to give the kind of detailed description he gave the dispatcher when he described the man’s facial features and even knew what kind of shoes he had on. I also told DD to give her dog some extra treats for barking so ferociously and alerting them that somebody was in the back yard. DD was afraid to look out of the window to keep checking to see if he was still back there while she was on the phone with the dispatcher, and DGS told her, he’s still back there because the dog is still barking. Which was true. The dog didn’t stop barking until after the police put him in one of their cars. I sure will share the hugs from my friends that live in my IPad!

Mister has been weird for the past couple of days. This morning we were on the phone while he was at work and he wasn’t sounding right, so I asked him what was wrong with him. He said he was missing his Momma.💔 I asked him what did he need, meaning what could I do to help him, and he said he needs his Momma. And my heart hurt.
That’s the first time since she died in February that he’s said anything like that. I knew it was coming, because his Mom was one of his best friends and they talked almost every day, often a few times during the day. They loved joking and laughing with each other when they weren’t talking about serious stuff. It makes me sad knowing he’s going through something that I can’t do anything to try to fix for him,

You're a comfort to Mister in his grief, Pink Cashmere . I feel sad, too, reading your words. Hugs to both of you. I sure hope so. I’m not nearly as close to my Mom as he was to his, and even though she drives me nuts and makes me very angry sometimes, I am still glad that my Mom is still here on this earth with me. I just keep praying that maybe one day we can have a normal Mother and Daughter relationship before our time runs out. Thank you for the hugs.

My boss told him that he just got his license a few months ago and my level position requires at least 10 years experience. Makes perfect sense. Replace someone with 23 years experience with someone with a license that the ink isn't even dried on yet. Right? There are a lot of moving parts to my job and it comes with a huge amount of responsibility. He would have folded day one.

I feel badly about admitting this, after some of the posts I read from this am. but I spent today as a mental health day after the weekend crap with fireworks and hunkering down in the basement for a week straight. the forecast for today was already showing high 70s and full sun by the early news yesterday, so I sent my boss a Teams note to say I was taking a sick day to just play with my dogs. I've seriously not gotten more than about 3h continuous of sleep for the duration. his flippant response was to say that the new office was nice and quiet. 🙄 so, I'm definitely okay with moving on if need be. and, I felt less badly about taking the sick day, since I had it available.
we hit up the dog park we used to go to daily, toured Upper Cape in the air conditioned car, mildly fought some traffic trying to get back home. I've got SVU on for background noise while I'm winding down, but I've basically been listening to/watching tennis all day. pups are both snoring, and I'm actually feeling peaceful and not pissed off at the world like I have been since the booms started a week ago.
I have to wonder if maybe next year, it's worth my sanity to board the pups somewhere better outfitted to shield them (really, LD) from that, and I just take a cruise or something and avoid all of it. bc I really thought I was going to need bail this weekend.
hugs to those of you that need them tonight. ❤️

Had the place not gone downhill I'd still be doing it. I haven't found one that I trust with them yet or I would have done it this year.

I feel like sometimes Macy is mean to Jackson just to be mean. It really is like having 2 little kids. Especially when they biologically are brother and sister.

I was just scratching Macy's tummy with one hand and watching something on my phone with the other. I looked over and she was watching me like children of the corn. She's so creepy.
