Dammit! I just got through chasing down both twins! They got out of the gate again! I'm gonna have to tell T2 that the gate just has to be latched right because they've figured out how to liberate themselves and my fat ass had to take off running after two dogs in the 100* weather.

I was just watching a tik tok with Trixie Matell and Katya and thought "I sure do follow a lot of drag queens." So I decided to Google drag shows KC and I fell down a rabbit hole. Trying to decide which one I want to go to now.

share some links!
I'm about to shut this laptop down for the long weekend and go sit outside in the shade with a book. I just inhaled a grocery store sushi roll, and need to put away the rest of the stuff that wasn't of the "fridge, now!" variety. I may also put the A/C back on....it was cool enough yesterday that I'd turned it off. we were already sleeping downstairs anyway, so it wasn't needed. today's another story, though.

Cameras are working again! Thankfully, it only took a reset, not reprogramming which would have cost $$$.

I still haven't logged off, but I'm not working anymore. I finally just used a $100 gift card my parents gave me two houses ago as a housewarming gift. I bought a bunch of fun (clearance!) acrylic glassware for the tiki bar, since it will be in use this year. the sink was delivered a couple days ago, mooch said he'd come up next week to install. works for me, I'm not asking him to fight bridge traffic on a holiday weekend.
oh, and I feel like I need another shower. it's saucy this afternoon, woof.

thanks! it was already here, just filthy and rusty. I'm outfitting it appropriately, and intend to entertain now that the world has opened up again. the acrylic stuff is martini and margarita glasses, and champagne flutes. glass is not allowed outside past the deck (I realize that the bottles are glass.....still working on that detail) might be a time for another gathering at chiver's house. jussayin....

Got a text from my dentist wanting to reschedule my July 6th appointment because they no longer offer morning hours except on alternate Fridays. Uh, no, I'm not going across town in rush hour or late evening traffic. If 8 pm works for others, great; it's not on my radar.
I made an appointment with someone in the area a couple of neighbors recommended and time will tell if I like him. The new patient forms were sort of weird, asking way too many questions that are none of their business. I'm self-pay at time of service so no need for SS #. I'm also responsible for my own bill so no need for spouse/partner info. No need for occupation since I'm retired. "What's is the goal of your treatment plan?" How about clean my teeth, address any problems if they occur, and get home sometime this year? Do I want free information on teeth whitening? CVS has whitening strips, no problem. Nope, not filling out the HIPPA release form because no one is getting my damned info because I don't have insurance.
They asked what I most liked about my prior dentists. I said a positive outlook and up-to-date technology in the office. What I least liked? Sales pitches.

I checked out a thrift store I keep seeing on the local page.
I found a 1983 Cambells Soup collector ornament. I grabbed it. I have a lot from when I was born this is the first I found by myself.
I found a light brown leather jacket which is exactly what I've been looking for to replace a wardrobe gap after my pleather one disintegrated.
I also found FIVE devil egg dishes. Those stayed at the store.🤪

Finally headed out. It was a looong week. DS is making dinner for himself and Carrot tonight, but he told me I'm on my own since I won't eat mushroom soup.

Since my SSN is no longer tied to a medical office getting paid by Medicare or insurance, I do not provide it. No office has ever forced me.

alright, I lied. I booted the laptop back up. but, solely for the purpose of streaming TV upstairs bc the screen is larger than my phone. I could go park myself out at the tiki bar, but I'm legit fried and want to be in bed early tonight. that cover is *just enough* of a PITA for my 5'6 self to mess with, that I'm just not gonna when I'm this tired lol... very happy I argued with my dad about placement of the wall mount, bc he wanted to put it a little higher.
anyway, I'm sitting on the deck streaming the evening news (to be followed by WoF and Jeopardy) and working on a crossword puzzle book. I caved and turned the AC back on, and closed all the windows. we will sleep downstairs again, but I think tonight is my couch limit. if we are still downstairs tomorrow, I'm digging out my air mattress. I have a pretty comfortable couch, but I'm hugely spoiled by my amazing bed.

I figured getting rid of something big would make me feel better, and it did. At one point, there were five televisions in this house, and I don't really watch tv. My son took the newest one for his basement. Today I got rid of the largest (and oldest) one in the sunroom. I was worried that the thrift stores wouldn't take it because it is 13 years old. It is a flat screen, though, and they did. It was really too large and heavy for me to try to carry by myself, but I did it. I had planned places (like the sofa) where I could put it down in a hurry if I had to. That's the old me, the one I was lamenting at 3 am as being no more. Getting rid of it really helped my attitude.

Today was a crazy mixed-up bag of so cool and so bad, all in one giant shite pile. We got to spend 2 hours with the camera guy who is right up there in the top 5 coolest people we have ever known. The original camera installation took so many more hours than it should have, during which we had the opportunity to meet this guy and the company owner, and get real in ways we never thought possible, ways that informed us about the world.
Then I got a call from my med clinic asking me to change meds to save them $$. You can't even imagine how pissed off I am now. I only take 2 effing meds, both generic, and they want me to switch to a cheaper generic. No way, mfers, no way. I'll pay the whole damn thing or quit taking the crap. In fact, I think I'll quit taking it anyway

oh, I think I'm calling it a night at the end of this Frasier episode. my sheets are still in the dryer, but I don't really care. I'm gonna curl up in a big blanket and put a tshirt on a pillow (an old travel hack from when my allergies/sensitivities were obnoxious) and just call it. my lower back will very much appreciate sleeping on my fabulous mattress rather than the couch, and I'll wake up to sunlight instead of an alarm from the downstairs cave.

Ds turned 14 today. Took him and his friends axe throwing again which is less stressful then last year. Place is dead which is weird. Can't imagine they'll be around for 15.

Face is some better but benadryl for one more night. My lips didn't look great today either.
DIL and I went to the grocer and we decided to have dinner here. So son came over and cooked hamburgers on the grill and DIL fixed some sauteed shrimp I had. I did corn on the cob and we had pasta salad and potato salad too. We knew it was going to be warm so I turned on the AC and a fan and it cooled down nicely in here.
So we enjoyed dinner together. DIL said he enjoys coming over. Partly because its close. Her sister lives like an hour and a half away and he doesn't like driving up there, its near Seattle. So we will see how the summer goes. Little guy is having a good time just messing around. We are going to work on his printing. His handwriting is awful I guess so I found some practice books and we are going to work on it along with his folks. I guess too much time on pecking on computers and his phone. The time he lost in school is showing up in odd things like that. We have been watching about the evolution of the planet and how it changed during millenia. He likes all that stuff and is interested in everything, I was too as a kid. Right now we are watching an apocalypse show.
DIL wanted to stay longer, son wanted to go home.
And I need to go out and water my plants.

Mister is bringing his Dad over here tomorrow to spend the night. Pray for me. Or maybe pray for him?
Mister keeps saying he’s going to blast Louis Farrakhan all day while his Dad is here. He got really aggravated the other day because his Dad was talking about how Muslims are evil and when Brother spoke up and started talking about Christians, and being judgmental, Dad started “speaking in tongues” and went in his bedroom. As if his behavior is so Christian like these days.
Mister said he started to go buy a bowtie to wear tomorrow too lol. FTR, blasting Farrakhan is not something that’s ever happened. Mister has listened to him speak a few times, so have I, but he’s only saying he’s going to do that tomorrow because he didn’t like the blanket statements his Dad was making about Muslims and them being evil. I kind of want him to do it, just to see what happens. I guess I’m evil too lol.
If he thinks we listen to Farrakhan all the time, maybe he’ll stop saying he wants to come stay with us. Which, idk why he would want to live with us anyway, since we’re alcoholics that can’t cook and we get on his nerves because we don’t want him disrupting our household with unnecessary bullshit.

Sorry for not knowing... What is JBS? A meat packing plant, I assume. But don't know. JBS is one of the big three meat packing plants in the country. Thanks for the info.

If only you'd cater more to Mister's dad and let him run around your house nekkid! Oh, and buy him more snacks and clean up after him. 🤭 Just kidding. Although I'm not a fighter, I may have to come find you and jump your a$$, if you ever do the things I suggested! I hope it goes well for you and Mister tomorrow.

DIL said, whatever it was I caught up here and was so sick, they caught after I left. She felt like I did, she said she couldn't breathe, used inhalers and felt so sick she felt like she was going to die. None of us found out what it was. She said now she knows how sick I was, yep. I hope it doesn't happen this time.
We are going to the farmers market in Olympia tomorrow and having lunch there too. I think it will be nice.
Grandson is nice to DD, she was going to get in the car and listen to music after we ate and she was heading to the wrong car. It was white like ours. DIL started outside to help her but he got her hand and got her to the right one. I hope he never changes, he is a sure nice to her. I need to show her that she can beep the carlock and tell which one it is, but I watch her if she goes out to ours anyway. I wasn't going to let her go out here but DIL said this is a safe area, unlike Seattle and other places.
Grandson went to bed at 10, I wasn't sure of his bedtime, but that is late enough. I should be in bed but got started watching a movie. I likely won't finish it as its 2 hours long and its already 1130.
I bought a cute, new little fan for the house, its round and swivels all over and around. Grandson was telling me to be sure and set it up so it oscillates. I'm amazed at his vocabulary. My DIL said it was the set of Dick and Jane books I bought when he was little. He learned to read from them. I did too. They are easy and gives a kid a sense of accomplishment, so apparently they served him well. He is excited about getting into more math this year. 3rd grade already, seems like he was just a baby yesterday.
Son wants the pontoon boat so he can have it. Hubs has to find a decent trailer for it to pull it up here though. We would likely only get 2 to 3 thousand out of it anyway. He said up here all of them are outrageously expensive. I know little guy and DIL really enjoyed it down home and hubs doesn't want to use it, he doesn't enjoy it. But he won't get it up here till next spring.
It is supposed to get 90+ one day, that is going to be tough, but will make it.
We had another bad storm in the Indiana Illinois area. Power has been out where hubs is for the last 2 days. Over 200,000 people have been without power but its widely scattered. Hubs said limbs and trees down all over. He was coming home from the city, trying to get home before it hit. Said he saw a tree topple over behind him on the way home and the wind blew him clear across the road, said it was terrible. It was something called a derocho (sp) and had up to 90 mph winds that flattened trees and crops. They were talking about the same this evening, I haven't talked to him this evening. He said we lost the top out of our big beautiful walnut tree in the front yard. Those solar panels must be good as the winds haven't gotten them yet or caused any damage. But he said he spent all day clearing limbs out of our yard. And is going to have to take the tractor to the other house to clear limbs it was thick with them. If the electric came on bet its off again. Thankfully we have a generator. He thinks he is going to have to set it up permanently like we had it in Houston because he thinks with climate change this is going to be the norm. Hate to think that.
