Well, I've had a productive morning. I made breakfast...the peanut's and missy's favorite. It was all a big ploy to get them to do things they don't want to.
The missy is unpacked. I've significantly nagged DS. He needs to get on the stick about getting his license so he gets employed.
The peanut is working on a math packet due the first day of school. (We are not yet 1/3 the way through). Then it's getting after DS to pack, and then we're working on painting his room so that we can get his stuff back up there.

Show last night was good. I went in pretty much blind and it was a little more... intense than I expected? One I'll have to see again with shock factor worn off, and re-listen to so I can hear all the words.
But it was a fun night. Took light rail downtown, found a pizza place that our timing worked out perfectly for. The tickets were my Christmas present and they were great seats. Tucked in a corner close to the stage, no one behind or beside us. I'm good with cheap seats, but I guess I never buy them, so maybe dh is right, might as well splurge.
I'm chilling by my pond now. Devil dog is indignant that he isn't invited. Tomorrow is the pride parade. I want to prep today so that tomorrow is easy to get us out of the house, but can't motivate myself to get up just yet. Having a wonderful space to sit makes it feel like self care instead of being lazy. Lol.

Good morning, invisipeeps immersed in your lives, fending off the hordes. Welcome to Saturday. I hope your day is everything that Monday was not and that you savor something delectable. Today is the show. They moved the art show part of the festival into city hall to get out of the rain. I don't know if many (or any!) will come in to see, but if they do I'm more or less ready. Worked for hours on my website yesterday then got tangled up in the conflicting directions while trying to connect the site to the domain. I wound up transferring the domain, then found out it can take up to 10 days to go into effect. Ah, well. When it does go I'll be ready. I have business cards and my framed and ready pieces for display. We bought easels for the photos since we will not be hanging them. The rain has already begun and stopped again. I wonder what the attendance will be given the weather. Yesterday it did not rain but was heavily overcast. I took a shot of the sweet peas growing wild in the marsh grass by the beach. Sorry your show was cancelled but thanks for sharing this beautiful picture.

I have decided to take some online landscape design courses. I’m going to start with one that is very basic, and suitable for beginners. It is short, but includes access to a lot of resources. It only costs $50, so if I end up not as interested in it as I thought, I won’t have spent a lot of money.
I am still really excited about planning an outdoor seating and entertaining area away from the house. I have a lot of awesome ideas, and I don’t want to make expensive mistakes. And if I expand my vegetable gardening, I would like it to be aesthetically pleasing, as well as functional.
I’ve always wanted to create a nice outdoor space, even at my other house. As you all know, I really love being outside, despite all my fears with the critters. I guess I just always thought I couldn’t do it something like that. Now I believe I can.
I need something constructive to do anyway.
If I’m going to create an outdoor space here, I’d like it if Mister and I planned it together. But as usual, he just says he doesn’t care what I do. Not in a bad way, in a just do whatever I want way. The vision I have in my head, I think he’ll love it though. Part of it will be like a room outdoors, and he’ll be able to smoke his cigars comfortably. Right now, when he does smoke one, it’s in the garage if the weather isn’t right for the deck. He doesn’t like sitting on the deck when it’s hot. But the outdoor room won’t be as hot.
He doesn’t like helping with that kind of stuff because he doesn’t have much imagination. I don’t knock him for that because usually I don’t either, nor am I generally all that creative. So I think the fact that I can see so clearly in my head what I want, with details even, means something, and I’m going to roll with it and see what happens.

giramomma Does this mean your DS is finished with the program he attended? I remember when you were not sure he would get through high school but he did. My bathroom is scheduled to be painted on July 5. Will be nice to have the bathroom completely finished. I'm guessing no one wanted the painter around that day because of fireworks, but old ladies don't care. Found out yesterday that ex #1's mother died. She was 104. I have no desire to live to that age. She lived in her own home until about a year ago.

Snuck out of the house this morning with Gwen to go to the farmers market. Didn't want to take Abby and her friend I'll be spending half the day with them at a water park later. Needed time to charge my batteries. I wandered into a new delicatessen here in the Old Market. It's full of all sorts of good stuff. I finally found pomegranate molasses and the bottle is HUGE. I've made a hacked version before with juice and sugar I boiled forever but that's a pain. Also found preserved lemons. Lots of little things I want to explore. They had actual harissa paste. I have a powder at home. I'd like to try another brand. This may be the new store I just give my bank info to. Pomegranate molasses is heavenly - really good on almost everything I have a chicken recipe and a meatball recipe that call for it. I love both but I forget I don't have molasses and have to hack my own. This huge bottle will last forever and now I can make them more often.

I love to read all the updates on what everyone's doing. So many trips, adventures, family issues, job problems discussed here. I think for many this is a safe place where we can discuss problems, share achievements, etc.

Powering through the laundry...never wore that damn skirt! Got the lawn mower gassed up and the leaky tire filled, and will be heading out here in a few minutes. It was so hot and dry here all week that the lawn didn't grow much, but for some reason the pasture took off so want to at least get that done today. I also really need to head to a grocery store sometime as we ate down/threw away everything in the fridge before we left.
I am waiting for my cousin to figure out how to use Google Drive so we can share photos because I kind of depended on her to take most of them. My camera sucks compared to hers. After the first day I'm like, "screw it", yours are 100X better, I'll use those. Same with the whale watching. They told us on the tour we'd enjoy it a lot more if we weren't looking through our phones the whole time, so they had a photographer with a good camera on board that was taking the shots and they sent us a link to get them.

I don't have to clean today hooray! I did a lot of cleaning last weekend and, since it's just me and the cat, I focused on maintaining everything neat and organized. So home free this weekend.
I have a review next Friday and I'm dreading it. This situation will have to be solved somewhat. I don't feel I have enough yet to retire, so I cannot just give notice and go on my merry way. It would either stabilize itself and I will catch up, or I will continue to struggle badly. Things are chaotic, management has become very demanding, there are several systems we need to input, update, etc. I wouldn't really mind being let go, it's the constant feeling and remainders that I'm not "good enough" that are bringing me down. They may let me go, who knows. But they are understaffed so I don't see it happening for now.
Anyway, I will work tomorrow and Monday all day. By Tuesday I need to have my presentation ready and circulate it to management ahead of Friday. I don't like what my job and my company have become through changes and acquisition. Goal is to work until 54 or 55 if I can make it that far.
Tonight, I'm going to a mystery show taking place in a museum. Not sure what it's about, lol.
I signed up for it months ago with a Meetup group. I hope it's fun.
Not much to do until then. It's raining so I cannot go to the park.
Fun fun fun, will probably clean the litterboxes, lol.
My mother's visa for the US expired last February. She didn't notice until April. I filled the application for her when I visited in May. They acknowledged receipt on June 1, and said they'll respond in 30 days. We haven't heard back yet. Mom called and they told her they are behind. She wants to come here for our birthdays (hers in October and mine in November)

I saw most state agencies were getting more $$ except DEI related ones. They are being cut to the tune of 32 million. I went and got my nails done, Dogs are outside. I want to be at Mom’s about 1 pm. I am thinking about a nap. I spend too much time on my Mom’s stuff & not enough time on my own.

I finally got off my ass. I cleaned the bathroom and am now waiting on the kitchen floor to dry. Then I can move the furniture and mop the other half. I'm watching My 600 Pound Life while I wait.

I am finding the amount of stuff I have seriously depressing. I like things neat and organized, and my house has turned into a sea of mix-matched boxes. I can't stack them because a lot of them have glassware or china or crystal so they are EVERYwhere. Chaos affects my mental health, and this is pretty chaotic. And then I will open a cabinet, and I will find two Costco boxes of garbage bags, and I already have one open, too. I have a Costco flat of toilet paper, and two or three additional twelve-packs still from the last flat. I have a half-case of chicken broth and another half-case of green beans. Sure, I could donate some of this stuff, and I am giving a lot to the church garage sale. But I actually will need garbage bags, toilet paper, chicken broth, and green beans. It is stuff I will use. I just hate having to put it in a box! It was so neatly organized before. I am only moving a mile away so I will take a lot of this over there before the movers come. I have a two-car garage there with shelves and cabinets so that should help with the chaos. Two weeks until closing! When you move it always brings home how much stuff you have. I hope you can do a few car trips and make yourself feel better about your supply cache.

I'm punting the bathrooms til tomorrow. the kitchen is almost done here, I've got one counter section left to wipe bottles down (dust/pollen). the stove and the detail work in the cabinet doors were so gross. so much pollen. yuck. I haven't seen LD since before noon, but Punk has been pouting at me from the dog bed in the dining room all day. sorry, guys. the weather sucks today, so we aren't going anywhere. I think tomorrow we'll head down to the boutique pet shop for cookies. I want to get more done today. I should probably get off this laptop then, eh?

I have one. Unused and hasn't been stuck to anything. I don't know anything about the quality of it. I've never used one. And I got this on clearance. But it you want to PM me your address, or an address to send it to, I'll be happy to send it to you/him. He can decide if it's something he wants to use, or not. Let me know. 😊 (I have sent things to a few people from this board. No problems with them, or me. I won't bother you afterward.) That is very sweet of you to offer, thank you. But he is looking at non adhesive now, since he tried one out and now knows what he liked and disliked about it. We mostly use wireless charging for our phones anyway, and it would interfere with that process. And I forget who mentioned it (maybe Opti?), but yes he likes that it fits in a front pocket - especially when going to crowded places. Plus the chiropractor has been on him for years about removing his full wallet from his back pocket before sitting. I also have a magnetic one, I've never used. I bought them at the same time, because I couldn't decide which I wanted. Then I didn't use either. LOL

Got the paperwork caught up, thought I had the laundry done, hubs brought home cleaning rags and I have DD's blankets to do. Her sheets and all are clean and ready to put on.
Now I need to mop the tile floors, going to use my moppy thingy. I have to dust the floors in 2 more bedrooms. I had vacced last week so not much cat hair, Yah!
Clean the blind, it doesn't look bad at all, been soaking, changed ends to do the other end also. So should get all this done in the next hour. Will start dinner at 5, first time I've cooked in a couple of days.

I'll probably break it up next time instead of spending all Saturday cleaning. I was pissed off yesterday though. I took T2's car to get the AC charged and ended up with a $850 bill that also included a new starter and cam shaft seals. It's the last part that's so expensive. They have to practically take the motor apart to get to it and put it back together. So we can't just get cheaper parts since the cost is 90% labor. Guess who's paying. So I drank beer instead of cleaning. I hate adulting.

I have 2 more loads, more blankets and rags, whoops and a tiny load with some red clothing, won't take long. Been folding clothes too, a never ending chore.
Now to make up DD's bed. I cleaned the blind, it was huge, I hate cleaning venetian blinds and its not even one of mine.
Now I'm mopping, just need to do our bathroom, have to make DD's bed. Want to get finished so I can sit down a bit before starting dinner. I'm wearing out again and haven't done too much physical today.
Also washed and set my hair earlier, think its dry, fix it every 2 or 3 days.

I'm on my 3rd large load of laundry and got about 75% of the mowing done, but I'm going to quit that for the day. It's too hot. Going to take a shower and go grocery shopping. DS wants us to hit Woodman's and Sam's Club so that should be sufficiently exhausting.

the deck furniture had dried out from this am's downpours, so I came outside with my laptop to sit for a bit while I wait on the Instant Pot. I've been out here maybe 10min, and I feel like I need another shower. it's disgusting out here today, humid AF. but the pups were pouting, and won't come outside unless I'm out here. that thing buzzes, and I'm going back inside. my hip seems to be doing better at this point, so maybe I'll dig out my yoga mat and do some hard stretching in the basement. I think the Sox game just started.

I am going to get more beer when I get done cleaning and take a shower. For some reason Sam's wants to make me go inside and get it instead of including it in my curbside order. I'd much rather walk into the mom and pop liquor store than Sam's. I'll just pick up the rest of my order tomorrow.

I am finally off my feet in bed in the hotel. Surprise my brother didn't show up. Picking up the U-Haul was a fail. Luckily the people at the location were very nice and we should be getting what we need in the morning.
People coming to the sale did mention seeing our signs so that's good. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to see them and show up. We have a lot more crap to get rid of tomorrow. The snafu from Friday got resolved.
I pulled some more stuff out throughout the day. We did our best to get ready.
Seltzers have been cracked open.

I really don't like A/C, but this is oppressive. ETA: also, ugh on the car repairs. sounded like absolutely necessary work, like my $600 ignition last summer.

Chasing a persistent squirrel on the deck. He’s obsessed with wanting the seeds in the window bird feeder. I have a stash of Little rocks to throw and scare him away. Went to HS graduation of DGSon Thursday evening. It was moved to the gym cause threat of rain. We sat in bleachers and when I tried to put my phone in my purse it fell and landed under the bleacher. Has my driver’s license , CCs and insurance cards. Thought I’d need to wait till next day. But on way out, DGSon met us holding my phone up! Must have a door under the bleacher. Another person dropped phone and janitor picked up both. Small school so looked at license and gave phone to DGSon. Jerseyguy said I should keep phone on lanyard around my neck. NO We went to a Greek restaurant after and had yummy food. A nice event.

I asked if she could just drive it that way. He said she could, but he wouldn't take it long distances that way. I told him just do it. She's going to save money to pay off my car and she can have it for whatever that amount is when she has the money plus $800. I only owe like $3K and some change so she'll get a nice car that has been well taken care of for a good price. If I pay it off before she has the money saved, she can have it for $800. Then I'll go get a new car. I can afford a car payment and she really can't right now.

Now that I'm done cleaning I'm sitting on my ass for a bit until I take a shower. Tomorrow I'm going to be a slug since my cleaning and laundry are done.
