I don’t think Mister is too eager for his Dad to come back over here too soon either. I didn’t know until last night, that on top of everything else, he stopped the toilet up in the hall bathroom and made it overflow. Instead of asking if we have a plunger (we do), he used a scrubbing brush that was in the bathroom (I don’t go in there, unless my folks are spending the night and I go see if it needs cleaning so they can take showers, so idk exactly what brush or even what kind) to try to unclog it, and when that didn’t work, he wrapped the brush in toilet tissue and sat it in one of the sinks. By the time Mister discovered it, the wet tissue around the brush had started breaking apart in small enough pieces to slide under the stopper, so the sink was clogged up too. The toilet is in another small room inside the bathroom, so it’s not like water was running out into the hall, making it obvious something was wrong. I am not surprised at all that Mister didn’t tell me about it when it happened lol. He knew I would’ve been thoroughly disgusted and grossed out. So he unclogged the toilet and the sink, and cleaned the bathroom, probably with the door closed so I wouldn’t see him and ask what he was doing. These things should go into a diary as proof he can't live by himself. Mister's dad needs in home care or start the quest of living in a facility on Medicaid. Doing something like that, usually moves a resident from assisted living to dementia care floors as they become a danger to others. (Working toilets are very important to health much like clean running water.)

I am finding the amount of stuff I have seriously depressing. I like things neat and organized, and my house has turned into a sea of mix-matched boxes. I can't stack them because a lot of them have glassware or china or crystal so they are EVERYwhere. Chaos affects my mental health, and this is pretty chaotic.
And then I will open a cabinet, and I will find two Costco boxes of garbage bags, and I already have one open, too. I have a Costco flat of toilet paper, and two or three additional twelve-packs still from the last flat. I have a half-case of chicken broth and another half-case of green beans.
Sure, I could donate some of this stuff, and I am giving a lot to the church garage sale. But I actually will need garbage bags, toilet paper, chicken broth, and green beans. It is stuff I will use. I just hate having to put it in a box! It was so neatly organized before.
I am only moving a mile away so I will take a lot of this over there before the movers come. I have a two-car garage there with shelves and cabinets so that should help with the chaos.
Two weeks until closing!

We were saying the same thing. And they go back about the same time so they must just have an 8 or 9 week Summer break. Oh, wait! How is that possible when teachers get 3 months in the summer? We get out the Friday before Memorial Day and go back the first week in August. So it is about the same, just different starts/ends. Schools here get 12 weeks. Ours is out before Memorial Day weekend and back the week before Labor Day.

Ten weeks summer break is normal here. Graduation is tomorrow. School restarts after Labor day, either Wed (traditional) or Tues (becoming more common). When DH taught summer school, he had 2 weeks off, 6 weeks of school, 2 weeks off.

DD1 is closer to getting her birds. The bird cage came in today and it’s been assembled. The cage came in earlier than expected so I’ve ordered a few things that should be here tomorrow.
DD1 has a birthday party to go to tomorrow afternoon too at the rolling skate rink. We still need to get a present for the birthday girl too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if DD1 really pushes to get the birds either after the birthday party tomorrow (depending on Amazon order) or Sunday.

The fireworks have already started here too. My dog hates it. Also, it's really hot and dry and windy, and people really shouldn't be setting off fireworks right now anyway.

Yes, little grandson got out of school the 21st, that's why I'm heading up next week and coming back August 30th.
I got home today about noon, was exhausted, so I took a long soaking bath with epsom salts. Then I added more water to the tub and put the blind from the PO in to soak.
After that I went to bed, Smokey and I slept from 1:30 to 8:30. Hubs bought a pizza from a really good place for he and DD.
I'm just to old to work like that anymore. I got the silicon off and 2 coats of paint on the wood type wall by the window, that stuff is horrible to paint. And I did not even bother the back of the door, I told her would be back in Sept. Physically I'm done. I also cleaned the floor in that room again, everything looks so nice and clean. A few people have commented about it, of course, some never notice. Hubs will put the blind up one day and the 2 bumpers I bought to protect the doors, so that will help.
I am back to watch what I eat again. I have been drifting into too much fast food and have to stop. And while working up there drank way too much coffee and sodas, none today, back to water. I had quit drinking them and let myself drift back, I know better.
Breakfast was a banana and milk. Nothing else till now, some cottage cheese, and 2 slices of raisin bread and a glass of ice water. I feel much better. It's just hard for me to cook for them and not eat it also, but I will do better. I used to have a lot of stomach issues and got it under control, so I will again. Boiled eggs is one of my favorite foods along with tuna.
I don't think I will have a problem sleeping tonight and have to get busy here tomorrow want to leave the house clean for hubs. I haven't even started packing yet. I looked at temps up there and don't think we will need a lot of shorts, 40's and 50's at night with 70's during the day.
My kitty has clung to me all day, he finally got up to go to the bathroom and he is curled up beside me again. I think he knows I am leaving, I will miss him as much as he misses me. I love Tiggy but I must admit I really love Smoke.

Ordered hubs disposable cat bowls, he didn't want to have to mess with washing them. I didn't even realize they made them. So I got those and the frames to hold them and more kitty food for hubs.
Even with rubber gloves my nails get broken and messed up when working. So I bought some cheap gel polish and used it and my nails ended up in pretty good shape this time. Today I had on orange, yesterday blue, and the day before green.
I'm about ready to go back to bed. Hope I am less sore and hurting tomorrow, have a lot to do. This part of getting old really aggravates me.

I've heard nothing on the job front. Which I suppose is good. I suspect I'll hear things next week.
I also applied for another job. And there's other things that are percolating.

Are you leaving your state job, or applying internally? Wishing you good luck. My DD interviewed in MSP again. She hopes to find out by end of next week. She said there will be 2 openings in MKE soon, and some in Miami. Idk if she would get an interview, and if she would take the job ( it might depend on what job is open. If she goes to Miami she can live with her boyfriend although she would have to commute a bit. **Don’t Quote Please, I will delete the specifics hopefully tomorrow. DD is at a work social event at the Madison Mallards game. It is also a “Pride Night Event” so hopefully there won’t be any trouble. She usually works at 6 am, but moved her hours back to a 9 am start tomorrow. I probably won’t sleep till she is home. It is at least an hour from Madison to MKE. My Sister’s SIL died earlier this month. Funeral was today. Had to pick up Mom & drive her around. I gave my DS 200 for her BIL about a month ago, then gave her 200 for supplies for her DD’s Grad party and I took fruit, and DH took 2 trays of Burritos with Rice, Beans & Salsa that he bought at a restaurant. DH told me to only give $300. I felt kind of torn about it b/c I had told my DS I would help if she needed help. DH says her husband has several cars he could sell and raise well over $10,000 easily. So before he left he told me to give the $$ directly to my DS. I put 100 in the card, and handed the rest to my DS. I saw my BIL settling up with funeral director afterwards, I did not ask DS if she gave the $$ to her husband-they have to eat, and put gas in the cars too. DS works FT and sells stuff on E-bay as side gig. Her DH has a shop and is a Mechanic/does body work-all cash. No one in my family is sure how much he earns/how much of the household expense weight he carries. His Mom lives with them, and he is also primary caregiver-so that cuts into his ability to work too. DS told me several of their cars need work. DS said she listed a firebird hood on FB Marketplace that her SIL was using as a wall hanging. She listed for $300, sold for $150 She felt pretty good about that. After funeral, Mom & I had lunch, then I ran her to bank, updated the auto pay bank for her utilities, and ran her to a specialty shoe store to get a pair of shoes stretched. They ordered a pair of shoes for my Mom & one for me. My stye is still with me. The Dr. Prescribed an ointment Neomycin & Polymyxin B Sulfates and Dexamethasone Opthamalic ointment & Doxycycline 100mg tablets. Swelling/infection is mostly gone, but still have like a pimple on my eyelid, so oil gland is still plugged. It is much better than before, but still not draining. I have a nail appt at 9 am, then will walk dogs around block and then head to Mom’s. I have to file 2 late sales tax returns one must be filed by Monday.

Finally home 15 hours after getting off the boat. I should just go to bed, but I'm basking in all the personal space. My cats are hyper loving on me too.

My DD just got home. 1:05 am. She works at 9 am. I absolutely did that when I was her age-but not anymore. Her Dad told her “you should have stayed at a hotel” she responded “Why?”. 🤣
So I checked FB marketplace a bit ago, was unsure if I should reply about stuff for sale at 12:30 am? If you have your night time hours set does it snooze the notifications?
Have not decided if I should go to yoga in am. It starts at 7:15. I could go, but won’t be able to shower before my nail appt. Nails at 9 am, pretty much across the street.

Listening to DH watching an infomercial about a "slim" wallet. It has been going on for 5 minutes and does not sound like it is ending any time soon - he never has that long of an attention span when it comes to videos. I am about to tell him that he has reached "old man" status. Backstory - He received a free little pocket with an adhesive back that he used to carry ID and credit card into the ballpark to avoid having to carry his regular wallet. I think it is meant to stick on your phone. He has used it the last couple of weeks to carry the same stuff into work and it ripped the other day. I guess he really liked it. I have one. Unused and hasn't been stuck to anything. I don't know anything about the quality of it. I've never used one. And I got this on clearance. But it you want to PM me your address, or an address to send it to, I'll be happy to send it to you/him. He can decide if it's something he wants to use, or not. Let me know. 😊 (I have sent things to a few people from this board. No problems with them, or me. I won't bother you afterward.)

Good morning, invisipeeps immersed in your lives, fending off the hordes. Welcome to Saturday. I hope your day is everything that Monday was not and that you savor something delectable. Today is the show. They moved the art show part of the festival into city hall to get out of the rain. I don't know if many (or any!) will come in to see, but if they do I'm more or less ready. Worked for hours on my website yesterday then got tangled up in the conflicting directions while trying to connect the site to the domain. I wound up transferring the domain, then found out it can take up to 10 days to go into effect. Ah, well. When it does go I'll be ready. I have business cards and my framed and ready pieces for display. We bought easels for the photos since we will not be hanging them. The rain has already begun and stopped again. I wonder what the attendance will be given the weather. Yesterday it did not rain but was heavily overcast. I took a shot of the sweet peas growing wild in the marsh grass by the beach.

Aargh! The fair and show was cancelled due to weather. Bummer! Well, we do have the next 3 weekends' shows.

But he is looking at non adhesive now, since he tried one out and now knows what he liked and disliked about it. We mostly use wireless charging for our phones anyway, and it would interfere with that process. And I forget who mentioned it (maybe Opti?), but yes he likes that it fits in a front pocket - especially when going to crowded places. Plus the chiropractor has been on him for years about removing his full wallet from his back pocket before sitting.

Finally ordered an adjustable height desk last night. I have been using a makeshift desk that DH built when I was WFO in 2020 and we did not know how long that would last. I prefer to stand anyway and I already have an under desk elliptical and balance ball that I use while standing for exercise. Desk should deliver Wednesday.

bean29 My goal is to keep paying into the retirement system. Luckily that gives me a good amount of options: state, county, and local government, along with the school district. (Getting certified to teach in the public schools is a longer term option). If I health insurance is good (meaning I still get access to the hospital where I was treated), I may have an opportunity to switch to the federal government. Shorter term option is going and getting an accounting certificate under my belt. That will give me a ton more options.

I am up, I slept almost 10 more hours, I must have been beyond tired. I was worried that I couldn't go back to sleep last night, no issue at all. And I feel better, but the body still a bit sore.
Hubs wanted to know if I was going to be able to do anything at the house, I told him will see. I don't want to, but things like cleaning and wiping the refinish on the cabinets I do a better job. I will try tomorrow. We don't leave for the airport till about 3 Tuesday afternoon, so maybe I can help him. That lady sure screwed this up for us, we would have had the house done a couple months ago and likely sold by now. I feel so bad leaving him with all this, but I'm still going.
I'm taking care of paperwork, one we are getting a bill for something we paid, so sent documentation. Another need to up date password list and I forgot to pay the second installment of state taxes. We will owe almost $3k on them this year, probably more. So back at it and there are stacks of laundry again. DD created more for me again, sigh.
I'm still eating light, maybe 2 boiled eggs or 2 scrambled, will decide.

gira, I have that problem all the time. My priorities are all screwed up, LOL!
Doing paperwork is necessary and I'm doing it. But getting up and moving, I feel like my body will hardly move today. I'm still tired though better, not good enough to get busy and do what needs to be done.
And I'm having a very diluted cup of coffee, over half milk. Doubt I drink much and I'm going to make a real effort to stay off sodas this time. It was weeks before I relapsed last time. Don't think I can do both at the same time.

same, gira. and, I pulled something in my hip (flexor, maybe?) so I'm limping around. it's fantastic. what needs to be done here is sandblast the pollen out of my house, since the windows are closed and will be through the 4th. thanks, redneck neighbors that have this need to blow shit up. first up is my stove, because it's bad. but I am making breakfast before I pull the grates to run through the dishwasher. "crispy crowns" and dippy eggs. the crowns are flatter tater tots, with more crispy surface area. I'll be sharing with the goobers

It's 90 minutes into the sale and my butt is dragging already. The one big snafu from yesterday was fixed though. I think it's going as well as could be given that I was trying to finish yesterday by myself mostly. And I had to get the signs made and put up. People are showing up though so I guess my advertising was a success.

Snuck out of the house this morning with Gwen to go to the farmers market.
Didn't want to take Abby and her friend I'll be spending half the day with them at a water park later. Needed time to charge my batteries.
I wandered into a new delicatessen here in the Old Market. It's full of all sorts of good stuff. I finally found pomegranate molasses and the bottle is HUGE.
I've made a hacked version before with juice and sugar I boiled forever but that's a pain.
Also found preserved lemons.
Lots of little things I want to explore. They had actual harissa paste. I have a powder at home. I'd like to try another brand.
This may be the new store I just give my bank info to.

Another load of laundry in the rear view mirror, along with breakfast. We're headed out to a jeweler in a few minutes for assorted maintenance things, and I need to grab a bag of bird seed at the store. We had violent storms last night but the power held and no hail damage here. Still working on getting my cameras back up after Thursday's storm.
