Pink- I had a uti that would not clear up. I would feel a little better but just not back to normal after each round of antibiotics. I had blood in my urine and after 3 rounds of antibiotics my dr sent me to a urologist. I had some test and a cystoscope and found out I had bladder cancer. They went in and removed it and I have been fine since. I wanted to let you know not to scare you but to be aware that if the blood does not go away please go see a urologist and have it checked. That’s why I’m so scared. She said that depending on what the lab results say, I might have to see a urologist. Trust me, I most definitely will. Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m sorry you went through that.

Thanks to all that answered. I was thinking "I wonder how much a new starter or alternator costs" when I was thinking I'd have to tow it. I'm also glad my dumb ass saw the fact that it was in neutral and not the tow truck driver.

I am home from the Alaskan cruise. Wonderful scenery, I felt like I was in a movie. This was our first cruise on Norwegian, we had been on Royal Caribbean and Holland America in the past. Our trip went as planned, only had an hour delay due to a thunderstorm coming home. We saw whales, seals, eagles and a bear! The glaciers were outstanding! It was so nice to get away for a real vacation. I believe that was my new year's resolution. We took the stairs and walked quite a bit. My ankles were sore the first few days at home and then I remembered the pitch of the gangway at low tide. Close as I come to climbing! This cruise ship had 4800 passengers on board. I would not choose to sail one that big again. It was a beautiful, new ship. Just too many people for me. Glad you had a good trip. How did this bigger ship compare to Holland America? I almost cried when we had to disembark the Eurodam. We sailed the Zuiderdam from Ft. Lauderdale to Panama. It was an older ship with some worn carpet and drapes, but much more customer friendly. Food was better than on NCL. Entertainment venues were much larger on the HA cruise. The cruise staff was better on all of my previous trips than on NCL. This may be due to so many people leaving the industry during the covid shut down. It seemed the Holland America cruise was for older adults and NCL was targeting the families and young adults. NCL had more pay to play spaces aboard the ship than I had encountered before.

Worked on one of my great grandma's.
Reaching out to my cousin was a bust he has no photos.
The other cousins were some of the main characters in erasing her existence while she was alive so I doubt they have any. Plus I'm pissed at them for ALOT.
So I used the one picture I had and wrote what little I know.
I have a very vague memory of visiting her with my grandpa but I was so young IDK if it's real or I want it to be.

Drinking coffee, getting ready to go to the beach for the dawn with Franklin the Dog.
I can't really taste the coffee but memories of what it should taste like combined with the mouth feel give me a close-enough experience.
My plans for the day include napping. Covid demands sleep, I've decided. Then I need to start on my website for photography and update my tiny dinosaurs book witht the copyright registration number from the Library of Congress that I received yesterday.
I hope all of you illustrious invisipeeps of Y Ma'am enjoy a fantabulous Thursday.

For those with automatic transmission vehicles. T2 called me because her car wouldn't start and she was stranded at the gas station. She had just gotten gas. The lights came on and windshield wipers she accidentally hit started going, so it's not the battery. I didn't hear any clicking when she tried, so I thought it was the alternator and was gonna tow it. Then I noticed it was in neutral so I put it in park and it started right up. Can you not start an automatic car while it's in neutral? I can on any manual transmission I've had, but never tried in an automatic. You are correct it will not start. Also if you put it in neutral and try to turn it off it won't and the key stays in the ignition. Done that more times than I care to admit. Fortunately it's always been just me in the car so nobody else sees how pissed I get till I see the N is green instead of the P.😖 I did this with s rental car. the parking spot was an incline, so I pulled the e-brake. my college roommate was the passenger and she didn't notice I never put it in park. so while I'm trying to figure out what the interlock might be (blinker, wipers, etc) she pulls out the manual to do the same. I looked over to see the diagram of the shifter, and felt like an idiot. "OH! park!" as I shifted. key came right out. 🙄

Quiet day today. I cooked my head with the last batch of dye I brought. When done, I tossed my old stained t shirt, the cheapie towel I bought and the bag of supplies I brought. That’s a little more room available. Filled out Canadian immigration form and delivered it late. I didn’t read the instructions until 50 min after it was due. Whoops! I wasn’t the only one. Had the harass guest services about our airport transport. As part of the world cruise, it was supposed to be included. The stupid computers didn’t link the WC itinerary to the current one, so the other 4 couples likely got forms to fill out to pay for transport too. Just stupid admin stuff to deal with. I went online and according to Delta’s web site, we can fly with 3 x 70 lb bags…..each. Our bags went out at 50 lbs, there is no doubt in my mind they’ll be going back at 70 lbs! We have 4 bags total, luckily all on wheels. Someone’s gonna get a hernia hefting those around. We still have 6 bottles of wine to drink. We will be bringing one to dinner with us tonight. 5 days left. I think I missed that you're landing in Canada. where? Louisbourg, then Halifax.

Well my urine sample today didn’t show any of the normal signs of a UTI, but there is still microscopic amounts of blood in my urine. She said either of the antibiotics I took should’ve cleared up the infection anyway, and especially since I took both. So she’s sending the sample to a lab, and prescribed Cipro in the meantime. When the NP I went to at first got the results from the urine sample I gave then, she called and said the antibiotic she’d given me should work for bacteria that was present. So if it’s not still an infection, what’s cause the symptoms now, and why is there still blood in my urine? I’m scared and I cried all the way home and still keep crying off and on. Before I saw the Doctor, I asked the nurse how much I weighed the last time I was there so I could compare it to what I weighed on their scale today. The last time I was there was in March, and I’ve lost 20lbs since then. Last week when I realized how much weight I’ve lost, I assumed it was because I haven’t been eating much, if at all, because of my stomach issues. Now I’m worried that that’s not the real or only reason. My nerves are SO bad right now. As miserable as I’ve been with my gut issues, even that didn’t have me scared like I am right now. Good about her sending it away to the lab. An immediate glance at it might not always show low levels of microbes. Sounds like you found a good doc. She is not ruling out infection, you shouldn't either. Infections are strange beasts. Believe me, I know.

Woke up and TD was gone. Message on my iPad said he was in the Explorers Lounge. Not sure when he got up, but I do remember hearing a click of the door while asleep.
Guess I need to get dressed.

Talking about genealogy, my grandmother was born in Ireland. She was brought to the US as a child by her aunt. As it turns out, if you have only one grandparent born in Ireland, you can get an Irish passport.
TD has been pushing me to start jumping through hoops to do this. I have to dig up proof that she’s my grandmother, which likely would require my dad’s birth certificate. A few years ago, a cousin (my grandmother’s siblings grandchild) contacted me about this side of the family, so when I get home I need to contact him as to any proof he might have that my grandmother was his granddad’s sibling. I’m thinking TD wants a Plan B, if the US goes totally to shit. Then we can exit stage right, and he’s not interested in returning to Canada.

Vacation prep is exhausting! Between having company last weekend and the trip coming up I have seriously gotten more done in the past 2 weeks than the previous 6 months I think. I'm working a full day today, then going home, doing chores, putting a couple pizzas in the oven for the kids for dinner and loading up the van. Still have to pack the electronics bag too. My cousin and her kids will be at my house about 6 and are going to carpool with us to the hotel to save on parking and gas. The plane leaves at 7am tomorrow.

I must be losing it. Ordered some hypnotherapy this morning. Not losing it. I got a Wiccan intention jar at the Mystic Fest. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. I'm doing therapy, I am taking drugs and still find myself overwhelmed. So why not it was only $15. I've told DH I don't find it any different than prayer for religious people. I said as long as you aren't trying to cure your kids' cancer with it I am fine with hippy dippy stuff. The power of suggestion and the placebo effect are powerful in their own right. I decided the jar might help me with what direction I want to go in so it's worth a shot. I've done the same with tarot cards. I don't take them as a literal truth but sometimes using the cards gives me something to focus on and in that quiet I figure out the solution. If you think hypnotherapy might help and can afford it it's worth a shot.

The internet today on the ship is absolutely brutal. It started out this way, got much, much better after Mumbai and then started going downhill in Iceland. FB doesn’t load at all, this page slowly. Hell, the speed things loaded was much better above the Arctic circle, than it has been a couple hundred miles off the coast of Nova Scotia.

Enjoy your vacation mpl!!
My dad requested signs be ordered for the estate sale. I checked out Staples, laughed at the pricing and turnaround and came up with Plan B. I feel like you can charge me $80 for 4 one sided 18 x 24 signs if you deliver them quickly but $80 plus $20 expedited shipping for a 7 day turnaround is just a joke.
I'm buying blank signs on Amazon and I'll use my Cameo to cut out vinyl and put on them. Vinyl is on sale at Michael's this week. I am toying with the idea of a banner from Staples that I could hang on the porch to also advertise. That is same day pick up. Go figure.

Woke up sore from the fall on Wednesday. I didn't realize so many places were affected. Apparently I used my right hand to break the fall and my wrist is very sore.
The cleaners are coming tomorrow. I'm doing the bare minimum for them and will pay them a big extra.

Good Morning everyone!
Pink, Finnime, Theo, Drama & Daisylu - I hope you all start feeling better soon! MPL- enjoy your Vacation! Wvugurl- did you check local printers? But your solution sounds like fun as long as you have the time. Mich- I have thought about trying to get a Mexican Passport for the same reason. 10-20 even 30 years ago, I would never have thought it would be something we might ever need to consider. DH had suggested we get the kids Mexican Passports, and I thought they would never need them. He says to get them now would be much more difficult.
I have a lot of work to do leading into our fiscal year end. I also have 2 vacation days to burn by 6/30/23. I will take 6/23/23 as I have a funeral for my DS's SIL, and Maybe 6/30/23-we have 7/3 and 7/4/23 off this year so that would make a nice long weekend.

I am proud of myself. My dad works nights, so I made decisions on my own regarding signs and hours of the sale. I 100% have decision paralysis and I finally told myself it isn't this deep and to just do it. Damn perfectionist tendencies.
I know dad wanted some signs. I just didn't know what hours he was thinking for the sale. I picked some I could live with since it's likely I may have to open the sale alone. And if it's crowded at the end time (unlikely) nothing says we have to close down right on the dot.
