Since you're north and heading southbound on 95, if you aren't going past the Academy Road exit you're fine. right, but we fly into PHL. the site is off the Woodhaven Rd exit. I just pulled that up on a map. Then yikes. The official Penndot detour says to take 676 to 76 to 1, which is just a nightmare. I'd probably look into flying into Trenton. From PHL you might as well just take 95S to 476 to 76 to 1, or 95S to 476 to 276.

Does anyone have any experience with parottlets? DD1's friend just got 1 and now DD1 wanted one. DD1 had been eyeing either finches or parakeets before.

We are getting rain, wonderful rain. So .28 this morning already .37 and it hasn't rained long. We sure need it. I don't see anymore until showers next Sunday and it's not going to last to long this evening. But I'm sure it will save some farm crops and our lawn.

taz157 the hair is soooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could do that. But at my age, well, I would be an old lady with blue hair. Which would not be cute. Worked on a project to get as many of my racing bibs encased in plastic scrapbook-style hangers as possible, then hang them on a metal sculpture fitted with J-hooks. It's a nice way to keep them. DH put up a new race medal display rack for me the other day. It holds between 75 and 90 medals. So I have a lot to look forward to. Running the dishwasher at the moment and planning on enjoying a lot of iced tea today. Dinner will be simple - big salad for me, previously made and frozen crab cakes for DH. I very much disagree. I think the older a woman gets, she should feel more free to do whatever the hell she wants to, if she hasn’t felt that freedom before. I love to see ladies in their 70’s and 80’s ( and I’m pretty sure you are younger than that) still being sassy and vibrant and expressing themselves how they want. There’s a lady that use to work in a store near me, she’s probably in her late 60’s. When I first saw her, she had a jazzy short hair cut, and part of her hair was light blue. It looked great. Then it was pink. Do it! Totally agree! I can't do fun stuff with my hair because it is still seen as unprofessional and I have to work. I have said for years that as soon a I don't have to work in going to be one of the old ladies in the Walgreens commercial dying their hair cool colors just because they can.

I want to do my hair in purple. Kind of sad fun hair colors can only be professional for nurses and some others but not front desk folks, banks, etc.

My stop going home has no shelter and would prefer not to carry an umbrella with me, but I have nothing light to wear for summer thunderstorms.

I keep my hair short and it grows like I put miracle grow on it so if color messed up to bad it got cut off pretty quickly! This was after I retired. The only down side was that I may have impaired my son’s eyesight since he spent an inordinate amount of time rolling his eyes

I love Ultra's color for hair. They can create most any color you want and I think it looks natural. It costs a lot to have done but well worth it. I also always get a good cut there, some things are not worth getting cheaper.
I love the colors and would let DD do it too. But the beautician said with her psoriasis in her hair would not recommend bleaching it, I tend to agree. And that is the only reason I don't do mine, don't want to bleach it.

I used up things I had in the fridge tonight. Leftover navy bean soup, 4 ears of fresh corn I bought the other day It was so good, Some leftover barbecue and 3 tamales. Odds and ends but it was enough for us and cleaned up some leftovers. It was early for dinner but everyone was hungry. So I broke out a box to make cheese cake and we will have some of that later so it will work.
Now to clean up the kitchen and dining room table.
I fell asleep again for an hour or two, wish I could stop doing that during the day.

One day I will let mine grow out white, the beautician said it appears to be white at most of the roots now, but it takes a long time and looks bad. DD says I won't look good with white hair. I'm not sure, but there will come a day when I find out.

Just got back from a 4 hour ATV tour of Isafjordur with a private guide (actually, the guy that did the tour with us last week when we were so socked in). Today was utterly spectacular, but windy. We climbed a mountain, went on the beach, visited (likely illegally) a radar station, chased sheep to get pictures…..lots and lots of lambs born and drove over a road falling into the ocean. We visited a fishing village and watched for whales. This was far better than our other tour, only because it was twice as long and we weren’t fighting crappy weather.
Room service just arrived with dinner, all the restaurants were closed when we got back.

Do you pass you know where when you go to Target? One of our you know where's is almost across the street/road from Target There is one right by the Ulta now that you mention it. I'm switching my order to that store. I had just started the order with the Target closest to my house. Thanks! I completely forgot about that store. We have an Ulta inside Target. Not quite as big as a free-standing Ulta, but carries the same products.

Not having much luck on my great grandma on my maternal grandpa's side.
I did finally find a photo so that's something.
She worked as a candy girl for Woodward Candy Factory. It was a nationally known Candy producer in its day.
The company invented Butterscotch and Butter Brickle.

I call it freedom of expression for the exceptionally mature. I've had highlights before; they were dark red and looked really good. But I swim, and the chlorine just isn't kind to the highlights. Even with a cap on, it tends to fade out fast.
I did do blue chrome nail polish last week, for my Pride race; the color matched my race shirt. DH actually was disappointed that I removed the color. I did look really good. There is a shade in green that got my attention, so I may try that next.

DH needs to talk to the landlord again tomorrow bc even tho they told us last week that they fixed it, they very clearly did not. really, too bad for DH, tho, bc I’m leaving tomorrow morning again I’ll for sure have AC at my hotel.

Hubs and I have been talking about our visiting schedule in Washington. We both agree the cost of the rent, taxes, and light bill we can handle. It appears the big issue is the expense of going back and forth either by driving or flying. We think we can do 3 trips a year for DD and I and maybe 1 or 2 for him. Those really add up plus all he is trying to wrap up here. He has 2 years worth of work here to sell things we want to sell and just downsizing. Like we talked, maybe 4 years will be all we can do health wise and then with the rent and taxes raising up there. But that is to be seen. Right now we are going to enjoy it year by year and see where we are.
We intend to sell the rental property once fixed, I would like to wait till next year tax wise, but may do it this year, have to see. We are going to look at the property tomorrow and see what we need to do. We know we need all new flooring, that has been needed for awhile anyway. The kitchen and bathroom are the biggest and cost the most. I also think the AC is not working, found a part on top of it. Wish they had not messed with it. Everything needs scrubbed and cleaned and not sure we can save the stove. It has lots of cabinets in the kitchen and they all need gone over. Way more than in my house. I really think about $5k will do what we need to do since that will just be supplies and materials. Could be less or more after we get into it.

H said one of the 4 blonde pony tails won first in the pickleball charity tournament this weekend. The 4 are about the same small size. In a visor and on court they are hard to tell apart. We are going to look at a Hundae Santa Cruz tomorrow morning. The dealership was graced with two. A black (no) and a gray. I am excited.
Our GrS1 was here for stir fry dinner and ice cream cake. He was in very good spirits. Today is a beautiful day outside and I haven't been out. I slept until after 8:00 a.m. then watched worship on FB. I can't say how I wasted away my time today other than washing my hair, exercising and cooking.

I am still chipping away at getting my environment in order. Boy tore up a comforter my Grandbabies had folded and left in the living room. Almost the entire floor was covered with the stuff from inside it. I refused to clean it up. Mister paid Kiddo $2 today to pick it up and put it an a trash bag today so I could vacuum the living room. I was outside when Kiddo came to tell me bye, Mister was taking him home. I went in the house about 10 minutes later and there was a trail of the same stuff from the laundry room to the living room. The trash bag Kiddo had filled had been sitting next to the trash can in the laundry room. And Boy tore it open and spread it all over everywhere again. Mister picked it up when he got back home. Boy has been driving me crazy lately. Mister ended up thawing out some greens he’d cooked and froze, to go with the chicken breasts and yams. All of which should be okay for me to eat. YAY! I only ate a little, even though it was all delicious. A little is better than nothing, right? I’m heading to the shower and to bed soon.

I unexpectedly took a ~3h nap late this afternoon. oops. pups got dinner just before 8pm, and then I still needed to cook off the ground beef I had in the fridge for them (not for tonight...).
I'm currently sitting out on hte deck, watching the end of Sox/Yanks and wondering how late I'll be awake now.
