When dad died, my sister and I were joint owners of the account so we could still pay bills that came in. Any refunds, etc. had to go in the estate account. Life insurance proceeds came directly to us once they had the death certificate in. IRA came to us fairly quickly. The only assets dad had were what was in his apartment and what was in the bank. Those are the only assets I have. No stocks, bonds or property. I made a will decades ago, and I HAD a lakeside house, but that's all gone now. Everything goes to DS. It should be really simple.

Well no sewing yet. That's what happens. I went out and filled bucket after bucket of water and carried on the mower out to the plants. I quickly found out that the height of the bucket equaled the seat height. I got a lot of coochie washing, LOL!
Took about an hour and a half of watering plants. Than I gathered and took out trash and after that got items off the clothes line. I washed the shower curtain and liner a towel and wash cloth. I need to scrub my shower stall down. I have 2 screens from the kitchen windows in the tub to clean. They are full of dust I need to wash them well and wash the windows. When I saw those about a week ago is when I closed the house up and dusted most everywhere.
I am eating the rest of my chicken from yesterday, DD wants a little personal frozen pizza I bought her.
So if I can get movie on roku downstairs I will sew later. About bath time. Both kitties are in the basement with all the doors open, hope they got a mouse. Hubs said put food water and a litter box down there and let them stay during the day for several days, he thinks they will alleviate the mouse issues. They sure like to hunt them outdoors, I can't believe they have not found a way upstairs but so far so good. No evidence of them anywhere up here.
If we could buy a house that nice in Washington that cheap we would grab one. Up there that is $700k up.

Good grief! When Mister knocked on his Aunt’s door, she started yelling and screaming and crying. He called his brother to see if they had keys to her house, Brother brought the keys, Aunt had tripped over something and fell again, and couldn’t get up. Idk when she fell, how long she’s been laying there. So back to the hospital she goes. She already doesn’t walk right, and she keeps tripping over stuff because her house is a disaster with crap all over everywhere, including the floor. There’s literally nowhere to sit in the part of her house I’ve seen, and it looks like she just drops stuff on the floor and leaves it there. Mail, clothes, trash, whatever. I was shocked when I saw it because she seems so prissy. I was surprised she even let me inside. It was awful. Mister has a strong back, but I’m not sure how much more he can take. Can someone go clean it while she's gone? She may not like it, but at least she would fall less. Would a walker help her? My mom has a few and they have helped her a lot.

On a happier note…. My elevated gardening bed has added to my deck being my happy place. I like being able to look over there and see my stuff growing. Since I planted beans in it, I unknowingly put the bed in the perfect spot. I knew it would get a lot of sunlight there, but I didn’t realize the pecan tree in the backyard would provide shade to the bed from the sun at some point in the late afternoon. That’s good because the deck is on the west side of the house, and it gets very hot here in the summer. I’ve read that beans like warm weather, but when it’s really hot, can use some shade in the afternoon. Even with the afternoon shade, the bed still gets enough hours of sunlight. And my beans are starting to flower, so YAY me!

That story was totally awesome, countrygirl2. Both of the dogs were staring at me as I was laughing out loud. Mapquest let me down once again. Fortunately, I have a map app on my cell phone, but my stupid phone screen kept shutting down as I was trying to find my way. I finally reached my destination, but I won't be driving anywhere new without my Garmin in the future. (I went to check out a nice-looking house for sale, about 10 miles or so from where I live now.) I love my Garmin! And I have the same problem with my phone shutting off, when I use Google maps. It's not helpful, unless I can pull over every few minutes to bring my phone back up. I think I need to bring my Garmin in and update my maps.

I think Andi's been sending subliminal messages to the missy. Missy got up, and first thing she asked for is the makeup we bought her yesterday. She got some nude elf eyeshadow.
We managed to get her to wait until her breakfast was halfway done. This made me laugh. Someone gave my 5yr old DGD some "real" make up for her birthday. Her almost 3yr old sister and she were playing with it on Friday. She was so protective of that stuff! Only she was allowed to apply it (heavily). I need to get her sister some for her birthday, next week, to avoid the fighting and crying. Elf makes cheap good quality makeup. FYI.

Nice clean house but FABULOUS location! I don’t know why I torture myself looking at these low prices and ridiculous low taxes They have way more snow & cold than we do, but MN is pretty civilized. My mom's sister lived there when she was alive and one of my former college engineering buddies might be up there still. They just legalized "mary jane" here too. Beginning sometime this Summer, it'll be legal to have up to 2 pounds in your possession, as long as you don't smoke it in public. It'll also be legal to "grow your own". Maybe all the tourists who don't want to go to Florida can come here.

My grandma said this morning that she wanted to try slides so I'm going to get her some today. Should I get her Nike slides like I wear, or those yeezy knock offs? Nike's. Her feet need good shoes at this point in her life, IMO. It's nice of you to get them for her. ❤ She's definitely spoiled. She has 5 children, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. All she has to do is mention that she wants/needs something, and it appears.

She has a walker and a cane. She doesn’t always use them, but she has them. She also has a wheelchair in her house. She was sitting in it one of the times I went with Mister to check on her. If someone goes and cleans it, I feel like it will likely get back in the same condition. Every surface in the rooms I could see was completely covered with clothes and random stuff, and it looks like she literally just drops stuff on the floor and leaves it there. Idk if she does it intentionally or if over time it all accumulated because maybe she drops stuff accidentally and has trouble bending down to pick it up, or what. But Mister says the house has been like that since his Grandmother died, which sounds like before his Aunt had issues with her hip. It was his Grandmother’s house and has been paid for forever. Maybe she needs to hire somebody to come pick up after her ever so often, idk. But I also don’t know if she can afford it, because she just borrowed $1k from Mister a couple months ago to get her car out the shop and hasn’t paid him back any of it (and lost the card he gave her to use because he was at work when she called him) and when she came over here last weekend, when she was leaving, she asked Mister’s brother if he had a couple of dollars so she could get some gas to get back home (a 40 minute drive), and told him she asked him because she didn’t want to ask Mister. If it wasn’t so stressful, it would be funny, because I was so sure that my family would be the most problematic, and Mister probably was too. And it still might end up being that way. But for almost a year now, it’s been one thing after another with Mister’s family, and all of it serious, which neither of us saw coming.

Tater tot pic for Welts. I think they were invented to use up potato trimmings from making fries. Because of that, they are often cheaper than French fries of a similar bag size. I want to buy a bag of potatoes but decided what was on offer online for the grocery store did not work for me. Decided yesterday I wasn't up to carrying a 5lb bag of potatoes over uneven ground for the quarter mile so just bought a couple loose red potatoes along with other produce at the grocery store I can walk to. I've never seen those in the stores, and sometimes I make a point of looking. I guess the French don't eat Tater Tots. It might not exist in your area unless you go to a store that carries some American items.

I finished assembling a chicken salad with lots of veges. I used to eat one-half sandwich on whole grain bread for breakfast back when I was more slender. A joke I saw. I know I am chubby but I identify with slender. heh. I resemble that joke. I'm a huge fan of grabbing a half sandwich when I'm getting dizzy/shaky b/c I've forgotten to eat or wasn't hungry. there's always something in my fridge, be it "cracker cuts" of cheese, deli tuna salad, or whatever. what do you mix into your chicken salad? a guilty pleasure for me is the Napa Almond chicken salad sandwich from Panera. it has halved grapes, and (I think) walnuts for some crunch. so tasty! Canned chicken drained, mayo, a dab of cool whip, dry cranberries, shred cheese, chopped onion, pickles, garlic, carrot and celery. Walnuts. I wish I had grapes to put in, yum. I use a low carb wrap with a huge lettuce leaf. This one had lemon pepper for seasoning.
In a pinch, I use canned chicken, a handful of slivered almonds and mayo. Continuing to identify as slender . The body goes where the mind thinks!

I would like the record to show that I went to TJ Maxx today and I didn't buy any makeup. Buttttttt did you come home with any clothes? Inquiring minds want to know I did not. I bought a crossbody bag which is what I went in for. We're going to pride next weekend and I don't want to take a big purse. I got hair clips, a vitamin c serum, socks, a strainer, a pair of sandals, some needed kitchen towels and a couple of reusable shopping bags. I take them to Aldi and other places I may buy several little things.

I prefer the idea of well labeled edibles over smoking anything. I forget what eventually passed. Hopefully you can get sane tourists. Saw a cool older BMW the other day with what looked like European or British plates. Was not in the lane near me when I was walking by, but its at least a generation or so before my 21 yr old BMW. Probably was garage kept and belongs to someone with $$$.

It's not a beautiful house, sorry to say. Plus, all that crappy carpeting instead of hardwood. The view is nice, but it seems like a lot of money for a mediocre house. That's a matter of opinion. I am not a a fan of hardwoods throughout a house. I had to clean them too often growing up and vacuuming throw rugs is not fun. I guess it depends on your preferences.

The part of the house that did have hardwood, it was original wood, that the owner just had sanded & refinished. I could see small imperfections, but it had been done nicely. I actually prefer carpet in some parts of my house. During cold winters, carpet can help my feet feel warmer.

What a glorious thing to have when visiting Wisconsin during the winter holidays. I agree with you on the carpet. Sometimes it is nice especially if where you live will get pretty cold at times.

I agree on the carpeting, except I would keep it in the main bedroom. I would add crown molding throughout and change out the brass fireplace surround. And paint the kitchen cabinets b/c that's just too much wood going on in one room for me I would probably do some minimal updates on both fireplaces (yes, there is one wood-burning fireplace on each level).

The new hardwoods are easy to care for. Ours has some kind of sealant that stays very shiny. I just mop it, can use a hardwood cleaner of a lot of times I just used plain water.
I do like carpet for warmth but I just wear socks in the winter now, but then our floors are pretty warm.
At the mobile, I am going to put stick on tile in DD's bathroom, the stuff in there is in good shape but its ugly. Not sure if it's meant to be that color or faded. And there is some wallpaper, original I'm sure in that room I'm going to take it off and either paint or repaper depending on the wall condition behind it. I have wallpapered before and can do a good job. Something plain and light colored.
Our bathroom has it on the walls on each side of the sink. It's just too old and out of style, but the flooring in there is ok.

Apparently at some point I may need an estate account. The guy who is selling the glass claims the check must be made out that way because the estate is the owner. To me the will says everything except $x in cash goes jointly to my dad and uncle so to my thinking they are the owners of the house contents not the estate. It's not a hill I'm willing to die on though. And it may be months yet before he gets it sold so I'm not worrying about it. If I have to I plan to deposit and move the money out immediately. I filled in direct deposit details for her state tax return so we'll see. I had to refile one particular form because Turbo Tax made a replacement form and the original was required. I do not know if it varies by state, but we had to open an estate account because of the money that came in as the return of my parents' investment in their apartment. It was required to be made to the estate of XXXXX. Bank in Iowa, will let you deposit small checks, like $100. Be careful on moving the money out of the account until the estate is settled.

I don't think I've ever eaten a tater tot and don't intend too.
But I do like hash brown potatoes.
I saw potatoes today, I didn't check but think it was 5 pounds for $5.99. Groceries here are raising and raising everytime I go. Surely there is a limit?
I guess I'm on a roll. I've aggravated at the trash people, hubs has asked them for a different dumpster several times as have I. I also wrote on the last bill to change it out. It has rusted places round the bottom and the coons are pulling trash out. We are having to pick it up and blows in the lawn. We pay $75 a month for it and where their storage area is there are a lot of newer ones. I'm going to look for another company, not sure I can find one but if I can I'm done.
Then there is our dentist. I ALWAYS pay at time of service. I am getting a late payment dun. I've called them oh yeah they will fix it, 2 more and they have not fixed it. Now it is saying we are seriously late, I suppose next it will be collections. I'm changing dentists, that's aggravating. I will send them a copy of the receipt they printed out and then I'm done with them. Not crazy about the new dentist there anyway, have been going to them since we moved here but our original wonderful dentist got cancer and passed away. He was quite young, sure hated losing him.
But these types of things need to be fixed. We don't complain, don't cause issues and pay promptly. So what is the problem here?
