I’m so irritated I just got on out of bed. I’m going to have to pray about this. I don’t want to have all these negative feelings, it is reminding me of how I use to have a lot of unwanted negative feelings concerning my Mom.
Even when both Mister’s girls were here and even when they had company spending the night, they didn’t make noise late at night, because every morning of the week, either me, Mister, or both of us have to get up at 4:30 or 5am for work. And they just don’t stay up late anyway.
It is after midnight now, and for the last few hours he’s been walking down the hall, yelling for Mister, talking about his mouth is soooo dry, like he doesn’t know where the kitchen and water is. Hell, sit the whole pitcher and a glass on the nightstand in his room. Then when he gets some water, a few minutes later it’s something else. And he’s so LOUD.
When Mister is in the den blasting all his damn speakers, watching an action movie or playing music, I can’t hear it in our bedroom if the door is closed, and especially if I have the tv on. But I can hear his Dad coming out of that bedroom yelling for Mister and talking loud, even though my bedroom door is closed and I have the tv on.
He wanted to lay in the bed all day and sleep, until Mister told him he was going to have to get out of bed and move around. So now I guess he’s going to keep everybody else up all night.
I am venting here, trying to avoid having an outburst. Whatever I say to Mister about it, I want to be able to say it calmly since that IS his Dad.

The liquid bandage on DD's arm seems to be doing the trick. The spot is healing, I'm renewing it daily. What a relief, hope it makes it all the way.
We pigged out today.
Went to the festival, I had chicken and took some barbecue sauce in a little cup for it, awesome chicken, had baked beans and coleslaw. All DD wanted was nachos and cheese, so we ate that. She then got ice cream with butterscotch and I got a root beer float.
Decided I was not cooking dinner so went back up and got me another half grilled chicken. DD cole slaw, potato salad, and a cheeseburger. She was hungry this time. I also bought a pecan roll and her a cinnamon roll, they are huge. I ate part of mine for dessert and she did the same. I think I got too much sugar out of it though, been kind of dizzy. I have fallen asleep twice this afternoon. My cousin and her daughter came over and visited for an hour or so, really enjoyed that.
Called the internet provider as my roku would blink out, the speed was low, low. They upped it but having a tech come out Monday, he said there was a problem with a line, so maybe will improve more.
I think DD and I will have to eat salads and soups for a few days to make up for that calorie surge. I have the rest of the chicken left for my lunch tomorrow. That was all good food but way to much of it for sure.
Night all!
Hang in there Pink, it's always the darkest before the dawn!

I'm really sorry, Pink Cashmere. I can imagine. That would be torturous. To get another adult to behave in a civil manner is so, so hard.

He will get tired of that Pink, it will come to a head one day and I think it will be soon.
I figure the old guy will lose the house if on his own a bit and Mister will have to put him somewhere. He may not have dementia but there is something wrong with someone like that. Those actions are just not normal. Hang in there it will sort itself out.
Hey put him and your mom together, that might work, LOL! Uhh, that was my attempt at a joke.
Good night, hope you can get some sleep.

Well I just saw I repeated myself in a post. I catch myself doing that and feel bad. Getting old and repeating myself is catching up with me too, sigh.

We were in Belfast yesterday and saw the Giant's Causeway, an amazing sight. I climbed up the rocks to the top of the small hill but was wearing shoes, not sneakers, and it was slippery. So many people there; the weather continues to be perfect.
Today we will be stopping at Ullapool in the Scottish highlands.
I woke yesterday with a chest cold. DH had it, too. We're going to find a pharmacy here and get some symptom relief, especially cough suppressant. That should do the trick. I don't feel sick, just heady.

Woke up a few minutes ago. Tried the ginger tea and a slice of bread that the doctor suggested before bed and my stomach is much calmer this morning. I had fresh ginger, so I just minced some and added it to my Sleepytime tea last night. Maybe added a little to much as I woke up a couple of times sweating. Not soak the bed sweating at least, but the sheets will get washed after DH leaves for work.

I think Andi's been sending subliminal messages to the missy. Missy got up, and first thing she asked for is the makeup we bought her yesterday. She got some nude elf eyeshadow.
We managed to get her to wait until her breakfast was halfway done.

Tomorrow I tackle the kitchen curtains. It should be easier, as the kitchen counters are more stable than a rickety antique table. When DS saw me initially put them up, he FREAKED. 'What the hell are you doing, standing on the kitchen counter? You're not 20! Next time, call me!"Yeah, right. He may have a point given your recent health issues. My XH's Dad started going downhill when he made the mistake of trying to fix something in his socked feet on top of a kitchen chair. He fell, broke things of course, and while he got better I think that's when we could mark his path to not being on planet anymore. Your son loves you and wants you to last as long as possible. Maybe that's greedy but it wouldn't hurt to let him know about these things. He wants the call, he wants to help. Not all of us have that.

Sent my mom and grandma off to church with my dad. My uncle was outside cutting the grass when I went to get them. I told him I was getting Dorothy and Sophia ready for church. He said ok. When I was wrangling them he started laughing and got the Golden Girls reference. He's a little slow this morning.

Pink Cashmere, keep venting. You will explode otherwise. I am very discouraged about being potentially homeless. I am exaggerating, of course, and continue to pack. But it dawned on me that if the sale of my house should happen to fall through, I would have a harder time selling it with a sea of boxes and everything that makes it home like the drapes removed. So I moved the boxes to the shelves in the basement and rehung the curtains. I am not fond of putting stuff in the basement because it will just have to come back upstairs to be moved, but I do want it to look more settled so I will feel more settled. Of course, twelve rubbermaid totes sitting in my living room aren't helping. Those also need to go to the basement, but I would like to wait until the Salvation Army comes on Thursday to get the furniture out of there. My BFF suggested I write notes to everyone in the community where I want to buy a house and tell them I am interested. There are only 40 of them, and I could skip the ones who sold in 2022. She says people do this in her (upscale) neighborhood all the time. It sounds very much like something I would do, but I feel like my real estate agent might not like it. Maybe I should call her and ask? Doing nothing really isn't my style.

I'm on hold to report a missing newspaper....again. I've got my account pulled up, and I've got four delivery credits back to 3/12 for missed delivery, and I had a vacation pause on for three weeks. WTF?

WTF? Former paper guy missed so many that I think I had an entire year on credit. I think the only reason I haven't cancelled yet is that the Sunday-only subscription I have isn't a thing anymore. I won't always live in this house, so maybe I'll get consistent delivery in the next place.

Just heard a hysterical story about an incident in the next block last week. A neighbor over there (a woman of color in her 60's) has a long history of calling the police on various neighbors for a laundry list of alleged activities. In the latest incident, she was offended when a man walked his dog on the public sidewalk in front of her house, and it growled at her as she stood in her yard. She launched a verbal assault on the man and, after a period of time, he gave up being reasonable and told her where to stick it. So she calls the police to demand he be arrested. The responding officer was also a woman of color and seemingly it did not go well. First, I don't recommend calling any police officer anything other than "Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant" or such. Definitely do not call an officer "Sister". And when the officer declines to go arrest a person for you, don't use "Uncle Tom" or "Oreo". And, for sure, don't tell the responding officer you are going to shoot the dog and its owner.
It's going to be a long summer here. Last summer she called the police to demand they make her neighbor quit using mosquito repelling candles and stuff in his backyard because she could smell it.

oh boy. definitely come back to tell us the stories! I just goofed in the kitchen. I poured what I thought was water, from a frying pan I used last night, into the sink. it was actually vegetable oil, I hadn't poured it into the bottle under the sink yet. I've chased it with a long stream of hot water, and am about to mix up some baking soda and vinegar to follow that. anything else I should do? it wasn't a ton, but it was more than a few swirls around the pan. I had actually fried some chicken.

Resume is tweaked. Cover letter is half done. It's going to be a tad longer (maybe 1.25 pages long). Still within the suggested length for the job. It's moving into an entirely different career. So I have to demonstrate/explain how my current skill set transfers. This isn't taking quite as long as I thought. Which is a good sign. I'm about an hour in it.
I feel like if I can't do a high level cover letter outline in 10 minutes, the job probably is not a good fit and I should move on.

I slept very well last night. By the way if I have not said it enough, I LOVE my new bed. But I think Smokey loves it as much or more than me. If I can't find him in the house a good guess is in my bed, LOL! This morning before I totally woke up I put my hand on his tummy, he stretches way out and snuggles, he is so cute. I wish I knew what he was saying, he is always talking to me, when I shower, in the bed, walking around. He is a vocal little guy.He and I didn't get up till 10:30. And oddly Tigger has quit sleeping on hubs or mine. Guess he doesn't share our enthusiasm.
DD and I have had our pills and breakfast. I need to clean the bathroom sinks and our shower. I'm going to sort through the pile of sheets and see what to keep and get rid of. I had purchased a new set for our beds and I don't like the color, going to return them.
It is good and bad I guess, but will be out of the donut hole soon. $275 this month for my ozempic but I only have another $1000 to spend to get to the $7400 which gets me into the catastrophic stage which will really lower my costs. It includes the money total, so the part the drug company pays too to get out of it. If not for that would take forever. I doubt seriously they pay that much money for some of these drugs. I just have 3 high dollar ones that make it go up so high so quick, the rest are cheapies. They keep raising the amount to get out of the donut hole. Just a few years ago it was $5000. I can see many folks not being able to afford their meds so just quit taking them. They went to this 3 month supply deal and I hear over and over the tech asking if the person just wants a month supply, they ask me too.
I really want to sew today, getting up late doesn't help. Our internet provider got my speed up enough for me to watch movies. The tech is coming tomorrow afternoon to fix something outside.
Hubs put the traps out that mice go into or contain the poison for them so kitties can't get into it. But I don't think it is as effective as the stuff you just unwrap for them. But even though hubs says he doesn't like kitties he does things like that.
DIL helped him all day yesterday, they got the bottom of the mobile painted a pretty blue. I know he was dead tired last night but little guy wanted to stay with him so he did. He also got the eaves the same color. I think today they are doing the top a creme color. Then he wants to paint all the guttering white, to match the trim on the vinyl windows and doors. It will look very nice I'm sure. Now lets see if the park does the painting they said they will do. If not I will. He was like me, he didn't like the color I picked and found one he thought was a little better. It will be fine, it's all clean and neat. DIL wanted to learn to use the sprayer so hubs let her do it for a bit. She likes helping hubs, son was home on the couch! But he is leaving Monday traveling again so I guess he gets a pass.
Time to get busy, want to do several things today.

You are a saint Pink. At this point I'd be telling Mister it's dad or me.
My sympathy and understanding only go so far unfortunately.
I absolutely get how difficult the system is but having your head in the sand not only makes it worse for the old person but everyone around them.
IDK I get how soul sucking it is and getting overwhelmed with decisions but maybe it's because I've had to just keep swimming since 2022 Im losing my patience. Sometimes even when we want to collapse we have no choice but to ask even more of ourselves.
Keep venting here you need and have a right to an outlet for your feelings

Country by the Grace of God. is with Jai Hubler and 15 others . May 28, 2018 · The Electric fence and The Lawn Mower We have the standard 6 ft. fence in the backyard, and a few months ago, I heard about burglaries increasing dramatically in the entire city. To make sure this never happened to me, I got an electric fence and ran a single wire along the top of the fence. Actually, I got the biggest cattle charger Tractor Supply had, made for 26 miles of fence. I then used an 8 ft. long ground rod, and drove it 7.5 feet into the ground. The ground rod is the key, with the more you have in the ground, the better the fence works. One day I'm mowing the back yard with my cheapo Wal-Mart 6 hp big wheel push mower. The hot wire is broken and laying out in the yard. I knew for a fact that I unplugged the charger. I pushed the mower around the wire and reached down to grab it, to throw it out of the way. It seems as though I hadn't remembered to unplug it after all. Now I'm standing there, I've got the running lawnmower in my right hand and the 1.7 giga-volt fence wire in the other hand. Keep in mind the charger is about the size of a marine battery and has a picture of an upside down cow on fire on the cover. Time stood still. The first thing I notice is my pecker trying to climb up the front side of my body. My ears curled downwards and I could feel the lawnmower ignition firing in the backside of my brain. Every time that Briggs & Stratton rolled over, I could feel the spark in my head. I was literally at one with the engine. It seems as though the fence charger and the piece of shit lawnmower were fighting over who would control my electrical impulses. Science says you cannot poop, pee, and vomit at the same time. I beg to differ. Not only did I do all three at once, but my bowels emptied 3 different times in less than half of a second. It was a Matrix kind of bowel movement, where time is creeping along and you're all leaned back and BAM BAM BAM you just shit your pants 3 times. It seemed like there were minutes in between but in reality it was so close together it was like exhaust pulses from a big block Chevy turning 8 grand. At this point I'm about 30 minutes (maybe 2 seconds) into holding onto the fence wire. My hand is wrapped around the wire palm down so I can't let go. I grew up on a farm so I know all about electric fences ... but Dad always had those piece of shit chargers made by International or whoever that were like 9 volts and just kinda tickled. This one I could not let go of. The 8 foot long ground rod is now accepting signals from me through the permadamp Ark-La-Tex river bottom soil. At this point I'm thinking I'm going to have to just man up and take it, until the lawnmower runs out of gas. 'Damn!,' I think, as I remember I just filled the tank! Now the lawnmower is starting to run rough. It has settled into a loping run pattern as if it had some kind of big lawnmower race cam in it. Covered in poop, pee, and with my vomit on my chest I think 'Oh God please die .... Pleeeeaze die'. But nooooo, it settles into the rough lumpy cam idle nicely and remains there, like a big bore roller cam EFI motor waiting for the go command from its owner's right foot. So here I am in the middle of July, 104 degrees, 80% humidity, standing in my own backyard, begging God to kill me. God did not take me that day .... he left me there covered in my own fluids to writhe in the misery my own stupidity had created. I honestly don't know how I got loose from the wire .... I woke up laying on the ground hours later. The lawnmower was beside me, out of gas. It was later on in the day and I was sunburned. There were two large dead grass spots where I had been standing, and then another long skinny dead spot where the wire had laid while I was on the ground still holding on to it. I assume I finally had a seizure and in the resulting thrashing had somehow let go of the wire. Upon waking from my electrically induced sleep I realized a few things: 1 - Three of my teeth seem to have melted. 2 - I now have cramps in the bottoms of my feet and my right butt cheek (not the left, just the right). 3 - Poop, pee, and vomit when all mixed together, do not smell as bad as you might think. 4 - My left eye will not open. 5 - My right eye will not close. 6 - The lawnmower runs like a sumbitch now. Seriously! I think our little session cleared out some carbon fouling or something, because it was better than new after that. 7 - My nuts are still smaller than average yet they are almost a foot long. 8 - I can turn on the TV in the game room by farting while thinking of the number 4 (still don't understand this ). That day changed my life. I now have a newfound respect for things. I appreciate the little things more, and now I always triple check to make sure the fence is unplugged before I mow. The good news, is that if a burglar does try to come over the fence, I can clearly visualize what my security system will do to him, and THAT gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling all over, which also reminds me to triple check before I mow.

Got into a rabbit hole looking up rendered bovine fat just for grins on a pkg of cookies. Turns out they are made in Uruguay. Hard cocoa cookies made by La Triguema Frollini Cacao. Looked optimist safe and I also bought the cookies I like from Peru. Here's my rabbit hole URL find. Its actually interesting, but I probably should have spent my time on useful things like prepping laundry or loading the DW. lipidlibrary.aocs.org/edible-oil-processing/animal-fatsHas interesting stuff like - 4.4. Other animal fats
Besides the above described animal fats, there are some other fats which do not fall under the heading “fat melting and rendering”, as they are gained by other processes.
Butterfat/clarified butter
Butter is a water-in-oil emulsion resulting from an inversion of the cream, an oil-in-water emulsion. Melting butter produces clarified butter or ghee, which is almost entirely butterfat. Butterfat can be produced from milk from any species. Clarified butter can have different regional names: Samna (Middle East) or Ghee (South Asia).
Wool fat/wool wax/lanolin
Wool fat can be separated from water used to wash the wool. Despite the still often used name wool fat it is not a “fat” because it consists of wax. The correct name wool wax should therefore be used. Lanolin may contain paraffin oil and water. Its application is mostly in pharmaceutics/skin care.
