Tomorrow I tackle the kitchen curtains. It should be easier, as the kitchen counters are more stable than a rickety antique table. When DS saw me initially put them up, he FREAKED. 'What the hell are you doing, standing on the kitchen counter? You're not 20! Next time, call me!" Yeah, right.

Mister won’t do it behind his Dad’s back. He will just be the one to take his Dad to the attorney. As far as her estate having to go through some form of probate court, is that not Dad’s responsibility, meaning he would be the one hiring the attorney with his own money to settle her estate as her husband? I have been warned enough about Mister being very careful with this situation, that’s why I’m asking. I’ve also told Mister he needs to ask those questions of whatever attorney he talks to. I’m asking here first, so we have an idea of what questions he needs to ask and what he needs to get clarity on as far as the money. I seriously doubt Mister will pay out of his pocket for an attorney to handle the estate stuff if his Dad has the money for it, unless there is some legal reason Dad can’t pay for it out of the life insurance money. Idk what happens then. Problem is you need his dad to agree. Bases on everything you've posted to date I cannot see him agreeing. He's an ass but not dumb and like other equally stubborn old people knows what his kid going to an elder care attorney means. No consent no money. And even with consent I could see his dad lying his ass off and getting Mister in trouble. It would be better for Mister to get his dad to agree to him being financial poa. Then he can act in his best interest including stopping the payday loan, hiring an attorney and if need be kicking people out of dad's house. All records and receipts need to be kept. Scan and back them up somewhere too. You're required to keep them.as POA. If he just goes with verbal or written without the POA it's even more critical for when dad starts making crazy claims again. All it takes is a concerned do gooder and Mister is now under investigation.

I took down my drapes to wash them. They're supposed to be dry cleaned only, so we'll see. It was a pain in the ass to take them down. It will be harder to put them back. I only have a rickety table to stand on...no step ladder. I'm short, so even standing on a chair, I can't reach. It was nice knowing all of you. I have this to use. Now I will admit I’m short but have a Michael Jordan’s reach. But this step stool is really stable and I feel comfortable using it in most instances. But if I can’t reach something I have a 6’1” helper about 5 miles away. He fusses at me about doing some things so I keep quite! But comes when I holler.

Kinda wish I'D been out at the business last night.
Not sure how J thought it would go down but she apparently was not expecting to be handed the remainder of the balance along with all her stuff.
He told her she's done. If she had talked to him like an adult it would have been different.
But he can't have people walking off the job and making drama.
The guy who works next door is helping out for now.
IDK what she thought would happen. Results would be the same at any other job.
I don't get the self destruction. Even if you have a point you need to stop and think before hitting the nuke button.
Bob does the same thing. Your job isn't mean. You're picking up garbage because you've shown you are a flake. It's a signal you aren't picking up.
Quitting is not sticking it to them. Now you're unemployed and can't collect benefits because you quit.
Dad and that landscaping company will go on just fine. You really showed them.🙄

I am trying so hard to not be irritated, but it’s not working. A few minutes ago, Mister’s Dad asked him to help him send some pictures to his friends. The pictures were the inside of our house, so Mister said no, he doesn’t want him sending people pictures of our home. So he asked YD to do it, but when he saw Mister coming down the hall, he told her never mind, I’ll do it later.
Then I was going to sit in the den and watch tv with Mister and sat a glass of ice water on the coffee table. Mister’s Dad asked me “is that liquor?” I said no, it’s water. He said “Swatter, is that a kind of liquor?”. NO, WATER. Which reminded me of last time he stayed here and was telling everybody that Mister and I are alcoholics.
So I got my water and I am in the bedroom, where I will be for the rest of the evening and night.
I feel bad saying it, but I don’t really want him in our house.

The leftover lamb roast and grilled asparagus were awesome. And the guys next door are pulsing the Latin rhythms I love so it's all good.

Nothing wrong with staying in the bedroom. A whole crap ton wrong with Dad wanting to send pictures of your house to random strangers and asking what you are drinking. And another ton wrong with Dad trying to involve YD in his crap. What time is his niece picking him up for church tomorrow and is she coming early to help get him dressed 'cause I suspect his underwear isn't going to cut it at the service?

Boy is doing so much better with being obedient and he’s making me a proud Momma. But he took it a little too far this morning. Mister went to the door to call Boy to come inside, and didn’t see that Boy was down in the grass pooping. So Boy managed to run up the steps to the deck and in the house, still with that hump in his back and poop dangling out his butt. Ummmm…… no. All of that isn’t necessary.

I do too but better ask for help than fall off table and break bones. That’s why I suggested something a little sturdier. I’m 80 and live alone so I do most things myself but not stupid and I know when to ask my son for help. Fortunately he is Johnny on the spot. Mainly because I don’t call often but when I do he knows Mom doesn’t feel comfortable doing something! I also have a neighbor that I call if I am climbing up on ladder. We always call each other to just stand guard.

Idk when she’s coming to get him. I’d prefer right now. Mister originally was taking him home this evening, but now she’s supposed to pick him up from our house in the morning. I guess Mister will get him dressed.

Went to Mystic fest today. I got an intention jar.
I write my intention on a piece of paper and then put it in the jar. The lights and crystals will create vibes in the universe to help me achieve balance in my case.
I figure it's really no different than praying. I'm just not invoking a deity.
I also got a gorgeous hand made journal. I've been thinking a lot about how I'm putting too much pressure on myself to respect and honor and trying to protect everyone's memory.
DH is rightly concerned I'm walking a fine line. That it'll eventually consume me and our house.
My therapist said to focus on what matters most to me personally.
I'm going to put pictures and stuff in the journal and jot down my personal musings about them.
Then it's all there and maybe I can start letting go if I know it's safe on paper.

I've been digging and hauling in my gorilla cart today, and wondering why I felt so damn tired. That cart felt like it weighed a ton. I was seriously wondering if I was getting sick or something. Then I noticed it actually had a flat tire. I'm such a dumbass sometimes.

No, not orange fence yet. Just a couple of odd plywood boards across the gap. Good neighbor told bad neighbor he has no interest in further conversation as she rejects all reasonable compromises. He walks his dogs daily; I'm guessing her are going in her garage.

Order of dances changed sometime between them being posted and today. Kiddo missed her first dance. As in, we were standing in the holding area and she heard her music. Sure enough, 1 minute later here comes her class after they finished their dance. Everything devolved after that. Kiddo was able to do her second dance and the finale dance. Kiddo was happy in spite of missing her first dance. That is the only positive thing I have to say about today. When it was all said and done, Kiddo was still happy.

I don’t know if this is long lasting cease fire or just a brief lull in the hostilities

I'm beat. I emptied out a whole packed closet looking for the drapes I knew I bought last year. Then I had to move furniture and plants to be able to put the rickety table in front of the window. So, I had to clean and wash behind the furniture I moved. Had to do laundry downstairs to wash the old drapes. Had to somehow hook the 12 foot curtain rods, with heavy drapes, on top of the window. Had to move all the furniture and plants back to where they were before, pack everything into the closet again, then did the vaccuming and cleaned glass surfaces, did a pile of dishes by hand, and more. I deserve a break and a treat. I'm going out to smoke a doobie.

I'm annoyed. last thing bwfore i went to bed last night, I discovered a sawyer beetle in the half bath off my bedroom. so I closed the door and stuffed a towel under it, hoping to contain the damn thing til the am. well, I forgot to grab my toothbrush and now I have to deal with that gross thing before I can brush my teeth. 🤬🤢 now how did it get in my house?? I'd never seen one of these before one flew in my car window a couple years ago down here. scared the hell out of me and I almost drove off the road. YUCK! I probably would have pulled off the road and waited until someone stopped and helped me. If I didn't crash first, that is.

A lady I used to work with had a multi-cat household and she would keep little perfume samples around. After a vets visit each kitty would get the quickest little swipe on the top of their head with the perfume sample. She said when they all smelled the same it stopped the hissing and fighting after a visit to the vets. Can you explain that? What does going to the vet have to do with hissing? The cat who went to the vet now smells like the vets office plus anything that might have been put on them for tests, etc., so the cat who didn't go to the vet does not welcome them home. In my case, Maddow is all concerned when Amelia goes to the vet. As soon as she is out of her cage, he starts licking her and trying to make her feel better. I've never had a cat do that before.

I would hate to see you get eaten by a sawyer beetle. ha, I appreciate that! I'm choosing to ignore that there wasn't a sawyer beetle still in my bathroom when I finally built up the courage to open the door. I ran the faucet for a bit, in case it decided to check out the drain. but idk where TF the thing went. I also had a spider land on me just before I got in the shower this afternoon, I wasn't aware that there was even one in the room. as someone said last night on my FB pic, I need to burn it down, collect the insurance money, and move back to the beach where I belong. OMG! I would be afraid to ever go in there again! Yep. Burn it down, sounds good to me! YIKES!

I have a 6ft version (Little Giant) of it in my garage. Best purchase I ever made, in both cases. I paid $5 for the small step stool at a yard sale. The Little Giant was originally going to cost $139 and I had to drive over an hour each way,, to pick it up. I ended up talking to a vendor at a booth at the State Fair and I got it for $59, delivered! Color me happy! It's light weight and can be used with one hand (set up, moved and put away). Very sturdy. I love it!
