It is well after 8 pm here and it looks like it’s noon. The land of 24 hour sun can really jack around with your sleep. It’s done a job on TD. I am an up with sun type of person, so that would be terrible for me.

I have our AC on but it says 79 in here, DD and I are comfy. Saturday here is to be 95 during the festival, that won't be good. Lots of older people come.
I am going to go mow at the rent house, have to make sure the tire is up, it should be ok to air up and do it.
While I was gone, DD said someone came by to see me, said she was here for the festival. Of course, she has no idea who it was, darn I seldom see people I know. Maybe they will come back or I can see them this weekend. She said they had white hair, well that could be most of the women I know! LOL!
I need to get moving, as usual I'm tired, story of my life.
And I have a sweet kitty curled up beside me. It's Tigger my big boy.

Just curious why limit on Vitamin water. Understand that I am not up on all the different waters except that I know some are flavored, etc and others are plain. So asking from a "learn something new today" stand point!! $$ mostly. It is not really a hard limit, and mostly self-inflicted. I do stock up when they are on sale (usually 4 for $5 and sometimes buy 4 get 4), but he knows that they have to last until the next sale unless he wants to stop on his way to work and pay almost $5 for 2 bottles (if they have his preferred flavor, which is sometimes hard to find). Plus he is too cheap to do that everyday. The Vitamin water does at least have a variety of good for you stuff in it, but not worth the calories for me - I prefer to eat my calories. They do have some sugar free options now. I mostly buy Vitamin when I am hurting and really need a quick infusion of certain vitamins. By me the sales are generally crazy, like buy 10 for $X. Too much investment for me plus a storage problem. I keep cases of spring water on my entry steps, which is not the best, but it works.

I'm going to the pool in a few minutes. I'm baking in my house. It was 89 degrees F when I was waiting for the bus home and then walking home to make lunch. I'm glad I finally have eaten and need to make Moon Shadow happy. He liked the piece of carrot, not so thrilled by the alfalfa sprouts and is patiently waiting for his romaine lettuce.

I came inside to cool off a couple hours ago, the deck had direct sun and I could feel myself cooking. weather.com says it's 84 outside. it's only 76 degrees inside the house, with a nice breeze across the open kitchen/dining room where I'm sitting. Punk is laying on the floor rn, sprawled on her back with her tail up and covering her lady bits haha. she's snoring quietly, while I sit here working.

Received a call from a former vendor who visited my last facility today that reinforced my thoughts on the new path that new management is trying to enforce. It will not end well, especially now that I am corporate now can unilaterally impose new rules. It did feel good to have a fresh take from another female in this male dominated field.

I couldn't drink the water in Los Angeles or where we lived in San Pedro. It smelled bad. But I thought water was odorless and tasteless?

DD dog did well and fits right in (she is the black one). She stayed with us a couple years ago when we were in Alabama. Our house here is same layout and we have same 2 dogs, so maybe it was familiar They look comfy and happy. Where do you sit? DSonIL leaves the TV on for his dogs when they are in their crates. He says they like to watch it. 😁

OMG. The farrier is coming! He said he'd be there between 1:30 and 2:00. So I'm packing up and heading out to get Gus in and get the xrays pulled up before he arrives. YAY! Has he been there yet? How did it go? How's Gus doing now? Better, I hope. Sorry about the cost, but happy for Gus!

Perhaps you could start with your GP, and follow-up with your endocrinologist and cardiologist. They can also check for fatigue as a side effect or interaction of the number of prescription medications and OTC products you take.

Second load of laundry is in the dryer. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks? I mentioned last week that I put my rescheduled dental appointment on the July calendar. DH started his usual whiny rant about medical providers and I just verbally patted him on the head, told him I was sure he'd find someone to see, and literally walked away. He tried it again this week and, again, I refused to engage and told him there were lots of good dentists out there. Lo and behold, when I came home from shopping this morning, there was a date on the calendar for his dental appointment Second round of this is for eye exams. I've made my appointment and politely refused to engage in his piss & moan about why he doesn't like that practice. There are hundreds of optometrists around Houston and he's free to wander. We self-pay for this stuff so he's not even limited to a provider that takes our insurance.

How did it go? How's Gus doing now? Better, I hope. Sorry about the cost, but happy for Gus! Well, he's done, but it wasn't a fun afternoon. It was about 92 degrees when I got home so I opened up all the barn doors wide to get some air flowing through, then went into change clothes and get the xrays. Out of freaking nowhere a storm came with massive rain and wind. I of course had all the barn doors open, so there was a lake in the aisle by the time I finally was able to make my way out there.
Gus was a shit. A complete and total shit. Minis are hard to trim anyhow because they're so close to the ground and their feet are so tiny, so when they're fighting you tooth and nail the entire time it's 100X worse. The guy calmed down a little at the end, but he said if he's like that next time he's getting the "Shit Horse Rate", which I imagine is a rate so high you don't call him back ever again. It sucks because I want him to be able to take his time and do a good job, but we had to take a lot of shortcuts just because Gus wasn't having it. But he's sorta done anyhow. He said he definitely needs to get done again in about 4 weeks and wants me to do some things to treat his feet until then so they're not so hard. I'm thinking...well...I better start calling you tonight to set up an appointment if you think he should be done again in 4 weeks! He looked at the xrays and wanted me to send them to him, but he seemed to know pretty well what was going on and it was going to take a while to get things corrected. The inside wall on one foot was nearly an inch longer than the outside wall so he's thinking there could be ligament inflammation from that alone. Add in the chronic laminitis and the Cushings disease and he's kind of a hot mess.
Me and my rescues.

Work is so dead. I still say this is better than 2020 (because I'm employed), but I won't be employed for long if something doesn't change. It's maddening to spend each day/week wondering if this is when the layoff call is finally going to come.

Me and my rescues. I'm sorry Gus was a pain. The difference in the inside and outside wall makes my ligaments hurt at the very thought. That sounds like a great farrier who knows his stuff.

Yesterday we were talking here about regional phrases. I just saw a recipe on my FB Instant Pot page for "Yorkies" It look me a couple of minutes to realize these are individual size Yorkshire puddings, not anything canine

Hoping now that Gus has better shoes and isn’t in as much pain, next time the farrier sees him will be easier
My DIL sent me a photo of her horse getting his teeth scraped or something with a huge metal contraption in his mouth Yikes!

Yep, watching a vet floating your horse's teeth is not one of life's prettier things but it needs to be done frequently as they mature and age. A horse's teeth grow throughout their life and they don't grow evenly so, over time, they have sharp points that hit up against the opposing teeth while leaving a gap where grain and hay can't be ground. Floating takes the sharp points off and levels everything up again so the horse can painlessly and efficiently consume their food. Un-floated teeth result in pain and loss of condition. The vet always says it's painless, but I'm glad I'm not a horse

I went to the pool and they tossed us out after 20 minutes. Power failure. We've had sporadic power failures all through this heat wave. Lots of sirens, cop cars screaming by, accidents because the traffic lights are out, etc. I think it may be because of all the air conditioners. They suck up a lot of power.

Fun day for those two. Then today they got feet trimmed, but the pony was so sore from vaccinations they had to skip him.

This is the stuff I get in Teams chat now.... You forgot about teams when forming your "going to keep my head down and be silent" plan didn't you? He knows where I sit now. Yesterday before he got in I stuck framed pictures of 3 year old Carrot in his cube and he blew up my phone with texts...which started beeping my phone right across the wall, so he figured it out.

That doesn't sound like fun at all - rasp, rasp, poke poke, and then a hand up somewhere a hand shouldn't be to clean out the beans. Hmmmm, sounds like my dentist, annual vaccinations, and gyno exam all in one day

When Mister got home, he let the dogs out to run in the backyard and was on the deck with me. Out of the blue, he said “SHIT!” and took off running out in the yard to Boy. Boy was choking on something and Mister managed to get it out of his mouth. That darn dog! He puts any and everything in his mouth.
I’m so glad Mister was looking at him when he started choking. I can’t imagine what would happen with Mister if something happens to that dog. He’d probably lose it for real. And what really scared me today was that the night before last, I dreamed that Boy died. I didn’t and won’t tell Mister about that dream.
Last night my stomach started acting up a little after midnight. When I first woke up and got out of bed, Boy had made his way to the top of the bed and had his head on my pillow. Even though I don’t like that, I had more pressing matters to concern myself with. When I laid back down, he snuggled his face into the curve of my neck. I was too miserable to bother trying to make him move.
He always starts out near the foot of the bed, and often during the night, he inches his way up toward the head of the bed. Can you say spoiled rotten?
