Finally made an appointment with a new gyno (last one retired a probably 4 years ago). Yes, I know that I should not have waited so long. I just hate dealing with new doctors, especially for gyno, but I need to know if I am in fact in menopause or if it is some weird side effect of Covid. Found one that just added 2 new doctors, so was able to score an appointment for the end of June. TMI in spoiler. I deleted your spoiler. I don't know how old you are, but I hit menopause when I was 44 or 45. Be careful. Oops babies often happen when you think you are "safe." Ex had had a vasectomy's so that wasn't an issue for me, but I know friends who got unexpected bundles of joy. Of course, if they could all be like Missy . . . right, giramomma? I will be 48 next weekend. Oopsie baby not happening here, that is one reason that I want to be sure.

My mani/pedi was gloriously relaxing as usual. Saw a really sharp looking guy today. Slim, close-cropped silver hair, khaki shorts, white linen shirt, saddle leather sandals, braided leather bracelet with silver fittings. He does his fingernails in clear, and his toenails in matte black which looks so much cooler than gloss. He sips Chardonnay during his session and tips really well. Definitely a favorite customer. Ooooh, he sounds good!

Deer are assholes.I planted tomatoes and fenced around the small patch with the flexible metal DIY fence. They managed to push it around to eat the plants through the fence. We also have bunnies that decided to spawn under the front bushes this year. Unfortunately for at least one of them the babies decided to play in PP’s yard. I’m torn between being horrified and shrugging it off as natural selection, since they decided to sneak through the fence into a predator’s yard. In other news, the yearbook people appear to have cashed my check but did not provide DS his yearbook at handout. Waiting to hear whether they’re going to fix it But they are delicious!

My coworkers that grow vegetables (and have acres of land) say I’m just supposed to grow enough for the critters too. I don’t think I can manage a huge garden. Maybe one day, but not now. That’s one of the reasons I’m not trying to grow a variety of things right now, I know myself well enough to know that if I get overwhelmed, I’m likely to just say never mind, I quit. Last year was my first time trying to grow food, and it was just tomatoes. When I got discouraged by the squirrels, I just threw everything away. Chicken wire will protect a lot of stuff from critters.

We have herds of deer out where we live. Why they never got in my garden and ate it is beyond me but never had a problem. Maybe because we have so many fields of soybeans and corn. They are fat and healthy looking.
I am so tired when I got home I plopped down in my recliner. I have dozed off multiple times and woke myself up snoring. I decided just to go ahead and get a nap then go out and see if I can get the tire off the mower and take it to town tomorrow for repair. I work hard one day and am just beat the next day. Getting old, sigh.
DD got her botox shots today and she said her head feels better already. I don't know how many she got, but in her forehead by her eyes, around her jaws and in her neck in the back. The doc said her jaws were really tight. She ouched a bit I would likely have done it more than she did. She will get them again when we come home.
We stopped at Pizza Hut and had a small pizza, she was thrilled, it was ok, I'm just not a pizza person. I saw some other folks having a good looking salad of some type, wish I had eaten that. I also let her go into Five Below, she likes that store. Got my car filled up, it was flashing low fuel and ran through the carwash. I found my good Bulova watch and had a battery put in. Picked up pills for her at CVS and milk at the grocer, so we are good. We were both ready to come home.
It is 90 out and people growing food for the truck markets here and wanting rain, need it badly. Last year was a perfect growing year, I'm wondering if this one will be a killer.
The doc and I were talking about the doctor in Indiana that did the abortion for the 10 year old and how they drug her to court and tried to take her license. She said she left Indiana and went to Illinois, I had not heard that, she said I don't blame her this is awful what they are doing here. Apparently her mom was a doc too, she said she remembered when she was a kid about her mom working with transgender people helping them to transition. This was in the northeast, she said they even did it in some areas that many years ago. And now all these laws. I'm not sure I would want to go in the field of medicine if I were them. They all seem to be in danger of the law all the time anymore, that's crazy. And the insurance clerks practice all the medicine now instead of doctors. Indiana will keep running doctors out with the crazy laws they are implementing. The doc said her husband is a republican, she said why I don't know. She is DD's neurologist, so a pretty neat lady.
Ok a short nap should help me, will see if I can get one.

I have frozen foods I'd like to eat, but I'm not turning the oven on. Supper will be Thai chicken soup with a baguette or avocado toast with a runny egg on top.

Yes, that is what Mister was supposed to have been using to protect my vegetables. I asked him several times before I bought anything, if he was sure he’d be able to handle that part, because I understand that he has a lot going on and I didn’t want to burden him with something to do just because I wanted it and didn’t need it. He kept saying he was sure and that he would figure it out, so I started putting things together. So far all he’s done was buy some PCV pipe that’s still laying on the deck in the same place he put them when he bought it. I was very clear from the beginning, that my job was to learn how to grow vegetables and do the work pertaining to that, and his job was to figure out how to irrigate the bed on the ground automatically and figure out how to protect everything from critters. He did install drip lines in the bed on the ground for irrigation, but it’s supposed to also have a gadget attached where it can come on automatically and/or be controlled without going outside to turn the faucet on. That is what we agreed on and he said he was okay with taking care of that. I don’t want to pressure him about anything because he has so much other, more important stuff to deal with. That is why I kept asking him if he was sure about doing this. So, since he was adamant that he was sure about doing it, if critters get to my plants, I’m going to be upset. I didn’t even have him help me set everything up for the little garden on the ground, my son helped me do it. It was a bit of trial and error over 2 days, and a lot of heavy lifting, but DS helped me with all of it, so I didn’t have to bother Mister. So Mister’s tasks haven’t changed. Besides helping me put the elevated bed on the deck together when it was delivered, I’ve not asked him to do anything except the things he initially agreed to do, the irrigation and doing whatever to protect my plants from critters.

LOL. She's cute, but she definitely has her moments. I totally understand that some people don''t have the luxury of procreating before they are 40. There are still days where I think having a kid at 42 blows.
My cousin just had her 4th at 47. No thanks. Pretty sure that was an oops. The next one up is 12. OMG. I would cry. (Of, course, I cried when found out I was with the missy. And they weren't happy tears).
We're *just* finally starting to see the light with having a young child that is more independent. I think being set back, again, now, would break me.

Drove a lovely late-model Hyundai SUV too

I'm annoyed. I've been trying to log in to Old Navy's website to figure out exactly what my beloved white shorts are, so I can order a new pair of white ones and a couple other colors. I can't even log in. I don't think it's my laptop/internet access, b/c I've been able to load YMAM to whine about it. lol... guess I'll try again later.

Chronic pain is physically and mentally debilitating so perhaps she will have more interest in activities going forward.

So in my younger days, I swore I didn’t want children. But every kind of birth control pills I tried, made me sick, so I didn’t take them like I should have, and I ended up pregnant with DD. I was like okay, Imma do everything in my power for this baby to be born healthy. My OB didn’t believe in telling her patients the gender of their babies during pregnancy, so I was like I don’t care if my baby turns out to be a frog, Imma love him or her regardless. I loved my baby from the moment I knew she was baking in my belly. I didn’t want children, but I saw her as a gift from God and I was ok with that. Then I got pregnant again 2 years later, and I was like 2 is more than enough when I hadn’t planned on having any, and I started asking my OB about having my tubes tied. I knew that some women had that done in the hospital after giving birth, but she refused to even discuss it with me. She asked me “what if something happens to one of your babies” and I told her that was a moot point because I didn’t believe that you could just replace a child by having another baby. I believe she had some kind of issue regarding all that, that stemmed from her personal life, because I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t even discuss that with me, when I was very clearly saying I didn’t want any more babies after the one I was pregnant with at the time I was young, in my early 20’s when my son was born, and that was the reason no doctors took me seriously about getting my tubes tied. I went to other Doctors after my OB refused to even discuss it with me, and my ex husband went with me to those appointments to make it clear that as my husband, he was on board with me getting my tubes tied. And even with that, no doctor would do it because I was “too young”. My son will be 30yo this fall, and I have NEVER even thought about considering having another child after he was born. It still kind of makes me angry remembering how doctors didn’t take me seriously about getting my tubes tied because I KNEW I didn’t want another baby, but BC pills caused so many issues for me. I still don’t understand why doctors won’t listen to a woman that is trying to make sure she doesn’t have more babies than she can support and take care of…. Which assumes she is able or wants to take care of a baby in the first place.

I used to live in the city, in a house that ran on well water. Our sewer was hooked up to the city. We could have had it switched to city water, but it was cheaper to use the well water. It sucked in the winter though, because the pump froze up so often. And the pipes too. There were only 2 or 3 people on our street that were connected to the well. Once you changed, you weren't allowed to go back to well water. I never dealt with the pump, or any of that. Ex2 always took care of it. Thank goodness! Growing up, we were one of the few houses with a basement. We had a sump pump down there, due to the high water table. But our water and sewer were both city. Our cabin, in the mountains runs off a well and has a septic tank, because it's too far away from any city plumbing. My parents lived in the country. They had a 1,000 foot artesian well. Best water I ever tasted. I would bring gallon jugs with me so I could take it to the city, even though my city has good water. We have an artesian well in the middle of our city. A lot of people go there and fill many jugs, every week. I don't like water, so I don't.

Boy seems to be learning how not to be so much of a PITA.
The last 2 or 3 days, I’ve been letting him go out in the yard with me when I go out to look over my little vegetable garden.
So far, he hasn’t run off, and he comes to me when I call him when I’m done and ready to go back inside the gate, Now he also respects it when I open a door or gate and tell him to get back. He does what I say then, and doesn’t try to squeeze out of the door or gate like he use to.
But he was still out of control after DS’s dog was being unruly, and I had to grab Boy’s collar because he would not listen and obey me when he was hunting DS’s tiny dog after tiny dog was being aggressive with Mister’s brother,
Newbie will stop and come to me if I call her when she’s after something. I need Boy to learn to do the same.

Mister and I are sitting on the deck. The gate to the chain link fence is open so the dogs can go out in the yard if they want to. Newbie is laying on the deck with us and Boy is out in the yard exploring.
He just ran up on the deck because Mister called him, because we couldn’t see where he was. It turned out that he was just far out in the yard, and the important part is that he came running when Mister called him. When he got to Mister, Mister rubbed on him and told him he was a good boy, and told him to go play, and Boy ran off to continue doing whatever he was doing out in the yard.

I was going to start a grocery order and Cloudflare would not let get there. That usually happens with YMAM or sometimes late at night. Hope you have better luck later. I will probably wait a day or so.

I know what you mean at having a kid at 42 blows some days. I had turned 42 3 weeks before DD2 was born. She was planned but I really wish she and DD1 were closer in age some days. Of course, DD1 and DD2 are getting along right now so it’s not too bad. If I found I was pregnant now, I would cry and it wouldn’t be tears of joy.

I'm listening to whippoorwills while I shut this laptop down to head inside for the night. Punk and LD have been out cold since dinner. I need to wake them both up to make sure they potty, b/c I don't have a call til 10am tomorrow. and if I can snuggle empty pups while I ignore getting moving tomorrow, I'd love that. she's outside with me, he's already retired to the guest bedroom.

I ate whatever I wanted to, starting Saturday when Mister BBQ’d. In my mind if something I ate upset my stomach, I had a few days to try to get my shit together before I had to go to work.
Everything was fine until my stomach was not happy during the early part of the day Saturday, but it finally settled down enough that I ate a grilled hamburger that evening. After that, until Monday afternoon, I ate whatever I wanted again, and there were no repercussions. Tuesday, I was more mindful of what I ate, because I had to go to work the next day. I purposefully didn’t eat much. And I still had issues today. It’s close to my bedtime now, and the thought of eating something still makes me feel like I’m going to throw up, so no dinner for me. Or breakfast or lunch today either, I’ve not eaten any food at all since yesterday.

I was paired up with dc in our class tonight. Its a youth/adult combined class but we rarely work together. Kids work with kids, adults stick to adults. But I'm so glad today was a fluke. 1st half of class was fine. Then dc went to get water and came back flushed and clammy. Said they still wanted to work just go slowly so we did, but for just a second I felt their whole body go limp so we tapped out of class. Got home, changed into loose/light clothes, ice water, in bed with the fans going and they're feeling better finally. Maybe just got overheated but it was weird.

I hope you get answers soon.

It was 90 out today, hot.
We had thunder and rumbling but so far nothing more, I hope it rains. I had to use a mask and goggles again it's so dry and dusty.
I checked the tire, and it was only down a bit, so I aired it up and mowed the whole front half about 2 acres of yard. When I put it up it was still ok. I dug some of the thorn? out of the tire yesterday, don't think it healed itself but I was still able to mow.
I found hubs sockets and he told me again where the impact wrench is. But I'm going to go ahead and try to mow the lawn at the rental. I want it to look nice for the festival as it's on the main street. Then I will see if I can get the tire repaired. I have to road the mower up there and its close to 1/2 a mile. But I can do so on a back road.
Had to wash my hair again with all the dust. Sure going to wash the dye out washing it every night after mowing. Then I need to mow at the other rental.
Hubs said he got the trailer all washed down for the second time and now is ready to paint. I know he has really worked on that. He said son had him come down for dinner tonight and they ordered pizza from the place I told them about called The Brick. They said it was really good.
I'm all cleaned up and ready to read for awhile. Tomorrow, pain management appointment and Friday my eye exam. I'm reading a Jack Reacher novel.

Yes, Pink, look back and see what you ate. Was there a lot of grease in the foods? For me the more plain the food is or as they say closer to nature it is the better I do. I'm going to steam some cauliflower and just add salt and butter. Just things like that. I do the same with brussles sprouts and other vegetables. Do keep a journal, would be curious what all you ate over the weekend.

IIRC,you had fertility issues and lost pregnancies between DD1 & DD2. I'm so happy for you that you got DD2! I know I should be grateful that I never had those issues, but I will be more thankful if I never have to worry about pregnancy again . I had terrible fertility issues and needed three rounds of IVF to get DS. I wanted more than one but it just wasn’t in the cards. If I could choose, I think I’d still choose the fertility issues over getting accidentally pregnant super easily. I had an aunt who had that issue and it was very stressful!

I am going to add my ignorance to yours andi9899 . I always thought that it was either sewer or septic for waste water and city provided water lines or a well for supply. Am I totally off with that assumption? I really have no clue - all I have ever known is ,the city water and connection to sewers with the major diversion from that the city provided water going into some kind of holding tank in the yard when we lived in Bangkok. Oh, and the water there was not safe to drink without boiling so we had bottled water for consumption. But that is it: open faucet -> water comes out. Flush or drain and water goes away. City girl to the bones here LOL In rural areas, there are no city provided water or sewer lines. It is too costly to run lines to houses miles away from the pump stations or water tanks. Our last two houses had wells for water. One had an old septic tank and one had a sand mound for sewage. We specifically bought the land that we built our house on because it had city water and sewage, and that's only because it is more "in town" with other houses around. It is still four acres though. If we wanted something larger and farther away from people, we would be hard pressed to find anything with city provided services. We have "town" water, not well water, but there's no sewer lines so we have a septic tank. We are in a rural area, our house is surrounded by farms and most houses are at least a qtr mile apart. The house obviously used well water in the past; I'm not sure when water lines were run down our road (sometime before 1995 when we bought the house). A few years ago they were extending the water district and planning for future expansions - they ran a second set of pipes along our frontage, to feed other areas. It was most of the summer we were dodging trucks digging and laying pipes and backfilling, because of course it ran across our driveway (and down our road, and off in other directions...). It's still a bit low & soft where they dug up, utility trucks keep driving off the pavement when working on the lines above, churning puddles into mud in the fall/spring. DH asked the town for some fill to build it up so it doesn't collect runoff - now he's got a truckload of dirt (from ditch digging) they dumped for us - to relocate.

In case anyone was wondering if I'm a dipshit or not, the answer is yes. I thought I was out of garlic powder so I bought some when I went to the store last time. Turns out I'm out of onion powder, not garlic powder. So now I have 3 garlic powders and no onion powder. I'm going to just put it in my Target cart instead of trying to remember shit at Aldi. Why not just make a list? Because I'm unorganized too.
