Finally made an appointment with a new gyno (last one retired a probably 4 years ago). Yes, I know that I should not have waited so long. I just hate dealing with new doctors, especially for gyno, but I need to know if I am in fact in menopause or if it is some weird side effect of Covid. Found one that just added 2 new doctors, so was able to score an appointment for the end of June. TMI in spoiler. I had Covid at the end of September 2021. From October through December period was normal EXCEPT that it came every 2 weeks. Prior to Covid it had already lapsed some and came probably 5-6 times a year. And now nothing since December 2021.

I went out on the balcony. Everything is limp and drooping, even though I poured gallons of water in the plants yesterday.

It's 90 degrees here. I want to go somewhere, but I'd have to walk in this heat.

I'd like to go to the pool, but senior swim is at 09:00, instead of 16:00 on Wednesdays. In this heat, it will be full of screaming kids, yelling, jumping into the water and splashing each other.

I keep hoping something will look good in the fridge if I just check again. So far no luck.

I'm not going in yet. It needs to be 70.

One of our cameras caught what appeared to be a deer on the side of our house last night. I’ve seen what I guess you’d call a herd of deer on the other side of the very busy street you turn off of into my neighborhood. They were in a big field behind one of the stores on that side of the busy street. I’ve only seen them once, and I’ve never seen any in my neighborhood. You can’t see it clearly in the video because it was dark and it was only a couple of seconds before it walked out of range. That camera has a light that is always on at night and it gets brighter when it detects motion (I never knew that was a thing until we moved here and our front porch lights did it lol), and the camera records in color. Whatever it was, it was light brown and too big to be a dog. When Mister told me to look at the video, my first thought was my little vegetable garden in the back yard.

There are doors which open to the huge patio outside, where you can soak up some sun after swimming. The doors are closed in the winter.

Summer has arrived here early. It isn't even June yet, and we're at 90 degrees. We just got our garden in over Memorial Weekend, and I'm hoping our new plants don't get "Kentucky fried". Water, water, water...

I had no idea he had lupus. I also wonder why I give a pass at Tony Randall. He had two kids at 77 and 78. Married a 25 year old.
But, at least if he was sowing his wild oats on his first wife, it wasn't public. Tony's first wife couldn't have kids. He stood by her until she passed, but he still wanted kids. At the age his first wife died, he needed a younger woman to make that happen.

They really like green beans Noooooo. The green beans are in an elevated bed on the deck. I doubt the steps to get on the deck and the little chain link fence around a small area of the yard around the deck would keep them from my green beans. I have tomatoes on the ground outside the little fenced in area. Herbs planted in both beds. Mister is supposed to be in charge of doing whatever to keep critters out, but “critters” meant squirrels and such, since they ate all my tomatoes last year. He’s gonna have to get busy…..

These are my green beans. This is my first time trying to grow them and Imma cry if the critters eat them. I’ll probably cry if something eats all my tomatoes again too lol.

I don't know how old you are, but I hit menopause when I was 44 or 45. Be careful. Oops babies often happen when you think you are "safe." Ex had had a vasectomy's so that wasn't an issue for me, but I know friends who got unexpected bundles of joy. Of course, if they could all be like Missy . . . right, giramomma?

They would last forever, stop and come right back, then suddenly started skipping months for about a year before I finally had the last one. I don’t like dealing with new Doctors either, so I feel you on that.

Deer are assholes. I planted tomatoes and fenced around the small patch with the flexible metal DIY fence. They managed to push it around to eat the plants through the fence. We also have bunnies that decided to spawn under the front bushes this year. Unfortunately for at least one of them the babies decided to play in PP’s yard. I’m torn between being horrified and shrugging it off as natural selection, since they decided to sneak through the fence into a predator’s yard. In other news, the yearbook people appear to have cashed my check but did not provide DS his yearbook at handout. Waiting to hear whether they’re going to fix it

My coworkers that grow vegetables (and have acres of land) say I’m just supposed to grow enough for the critters too. I don’t think I can manage a huge garden. Maybe one day, but not now. That’s one of the reasons I’m not trying to grow a variety of things right now, I know myself well enough to know that if I get overwhelmed, I’m likely to just say never mind, I quit. Last year was my first time trying to grow food, and it was just tomatoes. When I got discouraged by the squirrels, I just threw everything away.

It's 90 here and the lawns are drying up. A bit early for that to happen. The growth that is there needs to be cut, but the lawns are turning brown. No, we don't water in my neighborhood. We just let the lawn go dormant.

There are still days where I think having a kid at 42 blows.

Watering in the daytime burns everything. When I water, I'm very careful that the water doesn't get on the leaves.

Inside it got up to 77 because I did not close my shades soon enough. Probably won't be as lucky at the end of the week as temps are climbing every day.

But, at least if he was sowing his wild oats on his first wife, it wasn't public. That used to creep me out, i.e. the above age gap plus children. Not anymore. They are both over 21 and chose to get married for their own reasons. Those two kids likely will be better funded than I am. Maybe her as well.

My cousin just had her 4th at 47. No thanks. Pretty sure that was an oops. The next one up is 12.

We just let the lawn go dormant. We hit 88 today and will be lower 90's next week. We get clouds and 3 drops of rain, but that's all so I just turned the sprinkler on to run tomorrow. Our variety of grass doesn't go dormant; it dies and resodding next year is very, very expensive.

My mani/pedi was gloriously relaxing as usual. Saw a really sharp looking guy today. Slim, close-cropped silver hair, khaki shorts, white linen shirt, saddle leather sandals, braided leather bracelet with silver fittings. He does his fingernails in clear, and his toenails in matte black which looks so much cooler than gloss. He sips Chardonnay during his session and tips really well. Definitely a favorite customer.

DS has an air conditioner to give me, but knowing him, he won't be able to install it until October.
