Ugh! DD is sick, and we're not sure what it is. She did go visit Urgent Care, and the only thing they've ruled out so far is Covid. Waiting for test results to come back on other things, like influenza. She probably picked up something at the concert she attended this weekend. Being a mom, I dropped of Sprite and some frozen chicken & wild rice soup. Hoping it's nothing bad. Worrying, it's what moms do... I have something like that - negative for strep and covid, but still feel like I have both. I slept the day away yesterday and felt better today morning, but the throat is very sore again tonight. I'm wondering what the doctor is thinking. She came up negative for strep too, but the doctor gave her 3 different prescriptions. WTE? I have to fight to get one prescription, and DD gets three?

As long as I can get them off, I have to say, I like them a whole lot more that I thought I would. OK, then I have to ask. Question for both of you really since I have now dubbed you both experts. How much trimming are you finding you need to get them to be comfortable? I have some magnetic ones. I've tried them 3 or 4 times but haven't gotten them comfortable yet. I'm wondering if I just need to keep trimming them - less on the inside corner - to get a better fit? I felt like I trimmed them a lot, but looking at them I'm thinking I didn't trim enough. Just really hard to tell since I have no experience with these things. I have smaller eyes and I only trim off 1 to 2 tufts of lash usually. Also, always trim off from the outer corner that flares.

I am still coughing some from whatever I had. Last night kept it up and kept telling myself, get up take cough syrup, then fall back asleep till the next coughing fit. Never did get it. Putting it on my nightstand tonight.
I am so damn poed. I will start with the good things that happened today. We got our hair fixed and it looks so good, very happy with the outcome. No matter the price Ulta has good beauticians, but they should for the cost.So DD and I are confident in how we look again. She wanted to buy cologne and then go the Bath and Body Works so we did both. She hasn't shopped much in a long time but she spent a small pot of money. It's ok, its hers. So then she wanted to go out to lunch we did and she says mom I will pay. I won't let her often because don't want the state people or guardian folks to think I'm taking advantage so 3 or so times a year I will let her. It was good but I looked at the drinks, 2 diet I was going to take my Cokes $7. I told her we just can't do this often.
I was going to take my 2 feather blankets to the claners and then thought after what the drapes cost they could charge $50 to $70 each so we didn't I can wash them and dry them, I have before, just a lot of work. But I can hang them out then fluff them in the dryer.
So then I went to pick up some scrips this is when my day went bad. I rarely get it, has been 6 months since I got hydrocodone for pain but my ankle has been hurting so I called it in to pain management. They give me a 30 day supply. Well in all of its damn wisdom my insurance decided 7 is all they will pay for, so I guess the pharmacy didn't let me have the rest. Say what?? This is why I deal with that, all the testing for drugs, the visits, the urine tests, the stuff I have to sign and the ins decides I don't need them, well damn. I have an appt next week and I will not be happy. Also I'm checking if the pharmacy will give me the rest if I pay, why was that not an option. Ok, one issue.
The next one was the real P off. The docs have to jump through hoops to get the ins to pay for Nextlizet for my cholesteral, because you know there are cheap statins out there. However, some of us cannot take that crap, I have the neuropathy now to prove it. So what do they do? The final appeal said it was approved for a year. However, the 1st 90 day scrip said no refills. Ok, it was the standard price they charge for brand name $40 for each month, reasonalbe.
So I have to call in and request the next 90 days and I did, the doc sent a new script. The pharmacy doesn't have enough so has to order. But now the price is $272 for the 90 days this time, the price more than doubled. What the H! These damn ins companies are crazy greedy. They do everything in the world they can to keep you from getting meds. I am sick, sick, sick of it. Wish I could stop all meds. What I think about if it is someone that has to have a particular drug to stay alive, you know this stuff in this country is absolutely criminal. How many more will they just decide to raise. So here I am back on the increasing cost bandwagon again. I doubt I'm in the donut hole as stuff hasn't been that high this year, but something is going on. We have the damn repubs up there posturing on a debt we owe. Why not govern like they should, look at the ins criminal gang and all the other stuff they need to do. Why aren't they governing, we aren't sending them up there to dissolve the democracy, they are not listening to anyone out here but their gerrymandered few.
Ok, I'm done, but I am still POed.

Last night we had a hell of a ride! I think this is the worst seas we have been in. Stuff slid around, the water carafe went flying and the closet door kept opening and shutting, so 2 am we were up securing stuff. Didn’t get seasick, but imagine many were. We are now in Alesund, Norway.
Our scheduled excursion for today got canceled due to an avalanche earlier, so we are now on at 1 pm instead.

just booked flights for a long weekend in Ocean City in late September. first Southwest fares in I can't even remember when. but, BWI seems to be a hub, so here we are. I still have trust issues with Southwest. that's fair. but I can't beat the prices to fly them this time. I can always book something else if things go sideways, the fare is fully refundable to the original payment method (no credits) as long as I cancel earlier than 10min before the flight. so, I'm still going to watch fares and will book something else if it's lower than what I paid yesterday.

How is she feeling this morning?

DH has been fighting the same symptoms for weeks. Covid, flu, and strep all negative. He did get an antibiotic (Augmentin sp?) last week as his ears were infected. Started last Tuesday and is seeing some improvement.

Back from our walk in Alesund. Meh…..I wish we had our original choice of excursion.
Did discover that my puffer jacket plus sweater and scarf does a decent job of keeping me warm with 46° temps plus wind. When I packed for this trip last Dec, I pretty much blew off this part. Luckily, it was cold and snowy when we left, so the jacket I wore then will have to do. I can top it with my raincoat if there’s rain…..or snow (yeah snowflakes listed for tomorrow).

It's been awhile since I had things delivered by FedEx. The barrage of texts messages have began. 12 of them already this morning in the last 45 minutes. Every message was delivered twice.
Your package is out for delivery! Your delivery is rescheduled to 5/26

Has anyone heard from empress of self-improvement? The last time she posted life was sad. I just want to check and make sure she is okay. She's ok. Thank you for asking. It got busy for a bit with a couple other kittens needing emergency room visits but they have all finally turned a corner and are gaining weight and getting better. PHEW! My 2 fosters are 2 years old and they are very needy buggers so I've spending a lot of time with them. Yay! You're back.

Losing helpless babies of any species totally sucks big time, so along with you, I'm very glad these little ones are going to make it.
BTW, been wondering how your kitchen remodeling is coming along. Is it near completion, and if so, how do you like it now?

I have to make a little day trip for work today. About two hours each way. I looked up the weather there (totally different pattern than where I live). Thunderstorms, possible hail, possible tornado. I think I will definitely turn and burn, since the worse weather normally happens later in the day.

I thought of you TheOtherMe , during a recent hotel stay. They gave me a room with a handicapped bathroom, but it still had a tub. At the rear of the tub was a fold up bench seat and a second shower head with its own water controls. I had not seen one before, but it was very useful and much safer when I wanted to shave my legs. At home, our master bath has a small shower and a garden tub. The size of the room may mean that we will not be able to get a larger shower in there, so when we get to that remodel it gives us another option. Shoot I would put one in now just because it was so convenient.

It’s been a week at work. Today, they fired an employee in another department. From what I’ve heard of this employee and their work, it’s not a surprise. Thank goodness I’m off tomorrow!
Edit: FWIW, the company I work for has over 2000 employees country wide. Our office has about 40 or so.

This is along the lines what I want to tell someone. They reached out about a strange visitor to their facility and what it meant, fearing it was on chopping block. I asked my boss about it during our weekly 1 on 1 yesterday, framing it as I would like to know how much time I should spend on my research for this, actually 2 small facilities. He advised me to reply that I do not have any information, which I don't, and that I can limit my time spent on those facilities - and added a couple of other nuggets of info that people outside of my profession would not understand. So he pretty much confirmed without really confirming that those facilities are either being closed or sold. Most likely closed, as their production can be moved to larger facilities in other areas of the country. I feel bad for those people. I want to warn them, but I really do not have solid info and I have to make sure that I keep my own butt covered.

I am done with people today. So tired of people who get paid more than me, are supposedly more educated than me and "superior" to me not knowing shit about what they are doing/asking. God forbid to ask and listen to the opinion of people who actually do the work. Just gotta keep repeating to myself that I am just a tech I am not paid to think. I am just a tech I am not paid to think . . .

Just spent an hour creating an online account for our cruise so at some point I can print out our documents and luggage tags. I loved the part about uploading photos-ours look just as grim as our driver's licenses and passports so there should no question about us being us

Watching IT fiddle with my computer. For some reason my phone goes on strike in the afternoon. I'm not mad about it, but I imagine customers would be since I seem to be ignoring them all afternoon.

I'm thinking very mean thoughts about people at work. At best lazy questions, at worst just plain stupid from people who should know better.

Meanwhile, nurses have to fight for a 4% raise over 3 years. The MNAs gave the excuse "Well, this member is a new father and needs more money." I guess there are no new mothers or fathers in nursing. Pisses me off.
