DS just called, crying and panicking. He had an MRI a few days ago, and now his doctor wants to see him immediately, tomorrow. His doctor works in the oncology department, and DS is freaking out. "If I have cancer, I'll kill myself!!' Nothing I say calms him down. for you and your DS.

Doctor said I was in perimenopause before I was 40. The night sweats were the worst for me. I didn't always get my period, but when I did it was painful and full of clots. Then when I was 46 I had awful periods every 2 weeks for 3 months. This was at the end of 2021. No period since then. My last OBGYN retired, so I need to find a new one to verify that I am done.

Mister is obviously in a mood. YD took some ground beef out of the freezer to thaw today, before she left to go with OD to wherever. I asked Mister what he planned to do with the ground beef and he said he didn’t know, he’s just told YD to take something out of the freezer to thaw out for dinner. He seemed irritated when I asked him about plans for the ground beef. And that irritated me When we first moved here, I was in charge of the groceries and the meals. Mister lost 11lbs the first month we lived here. Then his daughters started being here every day and he started eating what they liked and my efforts to provide healthy meals started to be me wasting money, so I mostly gave up and started eating the same meals they did. I’m not blaming any of them for that, I understand that it was still my choice to stick to a better diet for me, or not, regardless of whatever the people closest to me and in my household did. I feel like unless you specify what meat to take out, you need to just deal with what you get. You forfeit your right to be pissy with what's taken out. Especially being pissy with a 3rd party that had nothing to do with it. I think he was irritated because it was my day off from work and I’d been at home all day, and he felt like I could’ve at least figured out dinner myself, without even involving YD. Which I feel was a valid point. He doesn’t work weekends, but I do, and when I get home from work, he is either cooking dinner or has plans for takeout. I can’t really get angry with him about wanting me to do the same thing for him that he does for me. He cooks way more often than I do, so I understand him wanting me to take care of dinner at least on my 2 days off from work, when he handles it the other 5 days/week. Well, 4 days, it’s understood that it is very unlikely that I will cook on Wednesdays, which is the first day of my work week, and like a Monday for people with “normal” work schedules. I always try to be fair and own my shit when he and I butt heads or irritate each other. And that’s what I’m doing with this incident. Dinner shouldn’t have even been on his radar on a day he was working and I wasn’t, just like I don’t have to concern myself with what’s for dinner on weekends.

She did say that one thing on the list might not cause issues by itself, but if I have several things on the list in one day, it can cause issues. So, the plan is, when my stomach acts up, make a note of which things on the avoid list I had the day before, if any. Because my issues always start in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, when I haven’t eaten since dinner. And over time, I might be able to figure out what foods might be triggers, alone, in combination, or eventually. I sincerely appreciate you and the other posters sharing your experiences, advice and empathy this whole time. I agree that she does seem like a much better doctor already. She actually talks to me, asks questions, and writes down my answers. I feel like she’s treating me like an actual person, and not just chart number 12345. The only reason I remember that cabbage, broccoli and brussel sprouts are on the “avoid” list is because she pointed them out on the chart she gave me and said she hasn’t been able to eat any of them for 2 years, because they make her so miserable that it’s not worth it to eat them, even though she likes them. And she said her husband has the most amazing recipe for brussel sprouts and she gets so sad when he cooks them, because she can’t eat it. So maybe having had her own issues helps her understand what her patients are going through with gut issues. Or maybe she was already that kind of person before her own experiences. I was hospitalized with gastric issues, and I was in a hospital where you can order food from a big menu. The food was really good. I ordered Thai food, and then I got a call from the kitchen..."No cabbage! Order something else." They wouldn't just make it without cabbage? It's like you were in America!

It IS a scary call to get. Nothing calms him down. He smokes weed, but that will make it worse. Thanks, everyone.

Good advice Pink, some foods are just hard to digest.
I did not do what I was going to today, no sewing.
I took out trash, mopped the kitchen and hallway and the basement bedroom. Cleaned one of the litter boxes. I'm going to go down and push the mattress into the bedroom and lean it up against the wall in there.
I had 6 pots of flowers, some were hyacinth, tulips, and daffodils that died back. I planted those 15 or more bulbs. Then I had a couple of daisies, small ones and put those out. Was able to break up the hostas into 4 plants. Then watered the back planter and the roses on the side of the house and lawn shed. Also my front planter and along the front of the house. I'm using the feed fertilizer on the plants and the roses are heavy with buds. So that all took some time. I have needed to do this before they all died. I'm trying to fill most everything in with perennials instead of annuals. But I need a lot more in the back planter. Hope they may have them reduced at Walmart.
I also still need to trim back the dead wood off the roses in the fence line. They are all in bloom this year, first time you can actually see them. We are hoping they take over the fence out there, some are climbers. I don't have the garden tractor I use the wagon with so hubs said just leave them on the ground and mow over them, that will work.
I need to try and get the tall ladder out and see what is in the gutter up there. It is getting on my nerves hearing whatever it is digging. I'm hoping its a bird and not a squirrel or something. We have all vinyl soffits and a metal roof but I suppose they still could dig through the vinyl and get into the wood, I have no idea.
And I still may go down and cut out my next pair of shorts, won't take long. Also this pair of socks I have on, has a big hole in the heel and I need to darn it. They are a heavy warm pair that I can walk down the steps in so my feet are cushioned and don't hurt them.
Also we had tuna salad for dinner, I feel asleep in the recliner so didn't get that done. We can have fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy tomorrow night.

Hugs Weltz. I hope it's better news then expected and that he can find a way to get some rest.
And I hope when he is out of crisis his gf can tell him not to tell you stuff like that. It's such an unfair burden.

I decided I wasn’t eating dinner this evening, to try to make sure I can go to work tomorrow. I asked Mister what he wanted for dinner, and he said he didn’t feel like eating dinner, so don’t bother. He said if he gets hungry, he will just fix some noodles or something. Uhhhhh…. Okay.
So I just went and took a shower and I am lounging in the bed now, and planning to go to sleep soon.

And try to imagine the best scenario it can be ... if not go for whatever favorite distractions might help. I really hate when people leave calls like that.

I do not understand corporate American at all. A coworker of mine just had to have a meeting because someone complained to our boss boss that he was "yawning too much" which makes us look unfriendly. WTF? We work in a LAB. And most of us work in a lab precisely because we are "unfriendly"! Who the hell in this lab has enough time on their hands to complain about yawning? Shouldn't they have been sent back to their desk and told to help one of us who does not have the luxury of spare time to make complaints about yawning? This is why I can never be a manager. I would either laugh or throw something at the complainer. Same! I don't have the patience. I'd get fired for firing people all the time.

I will see your credit card in the ATM and raise you trying to scan your driver's license to get up to your secured floor at work. Another person got on the elevator and took pity on me, they scanned their badge. I'll raise you. My dumb ass put my debit card in the place the receipt comes out of and couldn't get it back out.

I did that with a customer's card when first learning how to use my dad's set up. Fortunately the top popped right off for changing paper. It was a tense few minutes before I figured it out.

Welp, lessons at the instructors house took WAY longer than normal. Because, she has alpacas horses and bunnies and ducks and chickens and a blue heeler that wouldn't leave me alone, and 5 minutes before we got there these little nugget triplets were born.

Went to boxing tonight. Instructor was there. His arm is bruised from elbow to shoulder. It's all kinds of different colors! Turns out he didn't tear the bicep. He tore the tendon or ligament, (I'm not a medical expert) that connects the pec to the shoulder. He has to have surgery. Recovery should be 5-6 months. He obviously can't use that arm, so he was walking around as if he had it in a sling. He's a total badass in my book for even being at class tonight.

DH called a tree removal service almost 2 weeks ago to talk about a bunch of trees close to the house that he wants to have taken down since the new roof was put on. There is one over the driveway that he noticed has several broken branches that is bad enough that we have parked in other areas. 2 weeks of phone tag later guy was supposed to be here at 1 today (which was communicated at 10am today), pulled in at 12:20 while DH was in the bathroom and I am lounging in sleep shorts and tank top with no bra (HH's here). I was expecting to have zero contact or interaction. Grabbed the closest cover-up to answer the door while DH got himself together. I'm sure I looked super cute in my shorty shorts, tank top and Brooks Robinson jersey, no makeup and hair pulled up, looking freshly f*cked. I need a vacation. ☺️ Too bad you don't live here. I have an excellent tree man. Anyone I've referred him to has loved him.

I'm ranking next month in jiu-jitsu. It will be my first blue belt (our adult classes have a different belt system than the traditional system). I'll officially be part of the "higher ranks" which is intimidating. But I'm stupidly proud of myself.

Just finished watching 90-Day Finance, The Other Way, Tell All Part 2 with DH. Now he knows why it's called the Tell All. Including a very detailed description of the procedure for creating a male organ for a trans person, and how it functions during sex. I happen to be team Gabriel.
