One of my nieces has been on the FODMOP diet for a couple of months. She's been having digestive issues for a few months but the doctors can't tell her what's wrong. She's had several different tests with absolutely no answers. Her mom (my SIL) found the diet to see if it helps. My niece is still having good days and bad days. Yesterday was my and Mr. Taz's 19th wedding anniversary. He hasn't felt good for the past few days so we postponed our anniversary dinner for another night. Today at work, one of my co-workers turned in her 2 week notice and in the end, today was her last day. She's using her PTO for her remaining 2 weeks. (We don't live in a state required to pay your PTO and she had 130 hours!) I'm totally not surprised she left, but it's still a bummer. We work in the same main department, but different sub-departments. I'm hoping tomorrow is better day because this week has kinda sucked so far.

Weltz didn't your son recently have a nuc med test and now a mri? What kind of troubles is he having? He's had ALL the tests. He has kidney stones and cysts on his spleen. If the cysts burst, he dies.

Has anyone heard from empress of self-improvement? The last time she posted life was sad. I just want to check and make sure she is okay. I was thinking about her today too.

There's an abandoned mansion near my house that is now on the market. I need 750K (and probably a few million to fix it up)

It needs some serious restoration, but it looks like it has good bones. Are there people who would buy it once it was fixed up? I really liked slide 22.

Too bad you don't have something like Mansions in May in your area. This is more work than most, but give designers two to three years to do a fundraiser, and it could look very nice.

Whe I was having all my GI issues, I was fine until the third day after eating potatoes. Just something to keep in mind that you may not develop symptoms right away. Some things can be cumulative, too. This doc sounds much better already! She did say that one thing on the list might not cause issues by itself, but if I have several things on the list in one day, it can cause issues. So, the plan is, when my stomach acts up, make a note of which things on the avoid list I had the day before, if any. Because my issues always start in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, when I haven’t eaten since dinner. And over time, I might be able to figure out what foods might be triggers, alone, in combination, or eventually. I sincerely appreciate you and the other posters sharing your experiences, advice and empathy this whole time. I agree that she does seem like a much better doctor already. She actually talks to me, asks questions, and writes down my answers. I feel like she’s treating me like an actual person, and not just chart number 12345. The only reason I remember that cabbage, broccoli and brussel sprouts are on the “avoid” list is because she pointed them out on the chart she gave me and said she hasn’t been able to eat any of them for 2 years, because they make her so miserable that it’s not worth it to eat them, even though she likes them. And she said her husband has the most amazing recipe for brussel sprouts and she gets so sad when he cooks them, because she can’t eat it. So maybe having had her own issues helps her understand what her patients are going through with gut issues. Or maybe she was already that kind of person before her own experiences. Yeah, it just does not really bother me that I can’t eat ice cream or pizza. I kind of miss popcorn, but I sure don’t want the side effects. I really like mangos. I will keep trying to enjoy them, but will limit the amount. I am not sure about apples. I saw they can cause IBS issues a few weeks ago, but I have had a few since then. I don’t think they bothered me. I need to start a food journal too. Wishing you good results from the Fodmap diet

I love raw potatoes. Tonight my stomach was a little, I don't know, off. So I ate one of my trusty raw potatoes. It hit the spot.
Now I'm watching The Bridge Over Remagen, a WWII movie. I probably should go to bed instead, but need to see how long it is. I h ear the kitties wrestling, they have been out a lot today.
My hour downstairs was very productive. I got the bed, box springs, and frame moved in the bedroom. I wasn't sure I could. Then mopped half the room. I cut out the lavender shorts, will still have to mark the darts and cut out the interfacing. Then I trimmed up the pattern for PJ's. They are shorts. I wanted the bottoms out of the Disney fabric but there wasn't enough of the yellow for the top, so had to switch them. I cut out the front of the bottoms, but need to press the fabric to do the other side. Knit fabric is awful to work with. Once washed the sides curl up and if you don't wash it, it will very likely shrink and you want it to do that before you cut the material and sew it. I made the lavender and white top, I may make another, I have plenty of that material. I see a tiny flaw on it, no one else will ever see it but I do. You have to really watch knits, even though I serge all the edges it will still ravel. I need to make sure I change my needles on the serger to make sure they are very sharp and fresh. I got my holes in the sock darned.
The basement looks neat. We do need another recliner or two down there and we took our end tables to Washington, maybe I can find some at an estate sale. I have a very pretty lamp I can take out of storage, afraid the cats might break it. It looks like a big oil lamp with the big glass globes, very pretty.
So tomorrow, FINALLY, get our hair fixed. I wouldn't go anywhere today ours looks so awful, I never let it get this bad.
This is going to be a good movie, I have seen these guys in movies before.

DS just called, crying and panicking. He had an MRI a few days ago, and now his doctor wants to see him immediately, tomorrow. His doctor works in the oncology department, and DS is freaking out. "If I have cancer, I'll kill myself!!' Nothing I say calms him down. Why does he see an Oncologist? Well, I know what an Oncologist is. But I'm confused. I hope everything turns out okay. ❤

That seems like a really cool house! I want to live there (after it's fixed up, of course 🤭). I like it! Oh, pool boy!

Weltz is having his spleen removed not an option? I know its not ideal but it seems better than bursting and dying He told me it is, but then he;ll have to have some kind of shots for the rest of his life. He's not good with shots...phobia. He wouldn't even get vaccinated for Covid. No shots.

This may be much more of a pain, but you might want to list everything you eat, by day. This way, you have a historical account of everything, and possible combos if foods that caused problems. Writing it all down as you eat is important, as memory is unreliable. It might be 2-3 days before you feel the effect, and the only thing I can tell you I ate yesterday was pineapple as I eat that every morning. I can’t tell you what I had for breakfast, lunch or dinner yesterday.

I was hospitalized with gastric issues, and I was in a hospital where you can order food from a big menu. The food was really good. I ordered Thai food, and then I got a call from the kitchen..."No cabbage! Order something else." They wouldn't just make it without cabbage? It's like you were in America! This is easy. The veggie stir fry mix they use contains cabbage. They’re not about to pick it all out so there is just carrots and other veggies in it.

I will see your credit card in the ATM and raise you trying to scan your driver's license to get up to your secured floor at work. Another person got on the elevator and took pity on me, they scanned their badge. I'll raise you. My dumb ass put my debit card in the place the receipt comes out of and couldn't get it back out. Ok, I’m glad to know I’m in good company. I was doing a mild panic, thinking that there was some sort of scam going on with my bank and how the hell was I going to deal with it from Norway? At least I got my credit card back!

Good morning, illustrious invisipeeps, caring and making things work. Happy Wednesday. I hope your day is fantastic; that no grievances irritate you but happy happenstances happen. Thanks for posting the pics, minnesotapaintlady. I'm really glad you have an engaged and caring doctor working with you, Pink Cashmere. Welp, except for a couple of small tasks we are ready. I need to get dressed, for one. And organize the paperwork for the cruise. The Uber driver comes at 10:00. Hard to believe I'll be in London tomorrow. We'll be staying on Hyde Park. This pic was taken yesterday at dawn at the beach. I thought it was fittingly glowing and optimistic. I did not go there today. I think I'll be spending time on the plane purging pictures on my phone and laptop to make room for new ones. I plan on posting updates, too, because that's also good clean fun.
