I’m 81 and Jerseyguy is 84
My grandma, mom, aunts and uncles on both sides of my family all lived into their 90s . Ladies 96/97
Sincerely hoping I will beat this cancer and continue as did my relatives
I retired last year at 80 and closed my consulting business. Still getting 2-3 offers each week but decided not to be tempted by really interesting projects mostly because of Jerseyguy’s health issues. And now as it turns out mine Keeping intellectually busy by serving as treasurer on a charity board. Dealing with NJ state government is maddening

I got the pasture mowed tonight. I can't believe we went from frozen ground and snow to not being able to keep up with the grass in the span of 2 weeks! Tomorrow I'll do the trails and in a few days it will be ready to start all over with again. Good thing I love to mow because it's about 7 hours a week this time of year. I loved to mow too. But didn't have anywhere near that much land. But was still happy as a bug in a rug when mowing and/or pulling weeds. I solved the world's problems when mowing!!

I am in the middle of BFE, and can get things delivered through door dash or Uber. It might cost more, but I can get it.
Nevermind.

Nervous tonight. Will get second infusion treatment tomorrow. A blood test may show some efficacy in shrinking the tumor. Right now I’m feeling well. My appetite has returned but don’t know how I’ll respond after treatment Jerseyguy still hasn’t received the med to start treatment for the CLL chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The med approval is stuck in insurance limbo. The Catholic Church apparently doesn’t recognize limbo anymore . But insurance companies firmly approve of this doctrine. I am keeping you in my mind and sending you and Jerseyguy healing thoughts

Here is the mobile we bought in Washington. Here it would be lucky to sell for $20k I suppose, but that is not here, soooo. www.redfin.com/WA/Olympia/4707-Black-Lake-Belmore-Rd-SW-98512/unit-59/home/15675030Hubs is getting ready to go up and clean and paint the outside. It's supposed to be a type of blue but I have seen the color and its more of a green. You had an approved book to pick from and I didn't like any, so this was the least ugly of the selection to me. It will be a darker bottom, lighter top, trimmed in white with the front door a dark color. The park will paint the carport and water well shed on our lot to match. The well site is not large and just looks like a small storage shed with landscaping and no noise. That gives us a high fence all around with chain link, wood, and a locked gate to the road. someone had painted it, not sure if we will or not. I know hubs can make it look a lot better, it has never been painted. We may add central air next year, that will help resell it if the rent gets more then we want to pay for the lot. We tried to buy something where we owned the land, impossible in this area. Even a mobile here that was older is $300 to $400k so I think we did good. Taxes are $500 a year or so and rent for now $610 a month. Internet $50, first light bill was $239, but it was very cold and is electric heat. Since we won't be there a lot it will just be high on the months we are there, so we can do this. Oh, replacement ins was $682 for a year. I figure about 100 days a year there, that's what it will work out to this year. We can decide over the next 2 or 3 years if we want to move or not. It has new dual pane windows, roof redone, furnace less than 5 years old, new flooring, paint, countertops in baths and kitchen. Lots of new bead board in it. They have put new faucets and I think commodes too. Only the bathtub and shower have original faucets. New patio door and hubs thinks new breaker box. I'm beating water heater too as there is plenty of hot water. It's on a foundation and the underneath has plastic ground liner and underfloor liner. Park manager said make sure so its dry under there and it is. I don't know about insulation, don't think it has a lot, but not much we can do about that. But it normally doesn't get as cold as it does here in winter. You can see new water lines under the sinks. There is some wallpaper on the sides in the bathrooms and I may paint or change it out, its old. I would say the only old part is the green bathtub and the tan shower stall, I'm pretty sure they are original. They have the kind of shower curtains that are plastic accordion types with metal bars up and down and they just stretch across. For some reason they had shower curtains up, but the old ones are in perfect condition so we just use those. For the money we are happy with it. It's an over 55 park. The only draw backs, increasing annual rent and the mobiles are so old can only be sold for cash only. But there are people able to buy them as they sell, so not too worried. This park is spotless and quiet. Lots of nice people here, there are 71 mobiles in it. It has newly repaved roads too in it.

CG2 - next time you go to Washington, go to Stewart's meat market in Yelm. It's not that far from your new place. You'll love it!

I will try that. We went to Haggens and the meat there is awesome but expensive. They had a huge selection.
I want to take Dil and the kids and head to the coast say Aberden or somewhere near there to buy some fresh seafood. Or just a day trip and have lunch and look around. I haven't seen much except Olympia and up to the airport. We have driven around a bit but not enough.

Or maybe just Raid Max Spider and Scorpion Killer. If it doesn't get the scorpion immediately, it should at least weaken it enough so it can be removed safely or killed by other means. True. BUT... Have to deal with it twice?! I couldn't do that. Yuck.

Good morning, dedicated and diligent invisipeeps, keeping your lives moving. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day offers you opportunities for meaningful work and play, and all health issues are in remission. I'm thinking of you and offering prayers, daisylu and jerseygirl , and you and Mister Pink Cashmere . Your Washington home is very nice, countrygirl2 . Not what I'd first think of when imagining a mobile home. It has a definite permanence and some lovely features. We'll be leaving in one week on our cruise adventure. Not ready yet! Need to pack and clean the house up thoroughly. The Walk of the Penguin Mich has been providing excellent tips and advice on what to bring and what to leave behind. We'll be gone for 2 1/2 weeks including stays in London at the start and Oslo at the end. Yesterday I putted around. I did have a go at the shite pile. Did I say we're leaving in just one week? I'm so glad we got DH to urgent care and then the ER on Sunday to get treatment for the pneumonia. He should be fine. He must be fine. The weather here has gotten cooler and overcast. Although the wind at the beach had picked up I did get one shot of wildflowers growing in the cracks between the flows of granite at the fort end.

Behind schedule again. Went to bed early last night and still could not get moving this morning. Behind on reading this thread. Hugs to those who need hugs. Yesterday worked out well. The x ray place is just across the street from office. I arrived a couple of minutes before 8:00 and was the first patient of the day. skeeter Appointment went well. Everything looks good. No need to see him for a year unless there is an issue.

I would have loved a Raid Max Spider killer when I was in college. Might want one now too.

I did mow the lawn at my last house, roughly a 1/3 of an acre, but I needed to wear those landscaper/Home Depot masks because of my allergies to grass and grass pollen. Was less happy than you, but I showered afterwards, threw out the mask and was mostly OK afterwards. Seven hours. That is a long time. Is it a nice riding mower at least? For me I think it was around two just because of the many obstacles, i.e. trees and what not in the yard. Had I found a job to keep that last house, some of them would have been cut down. There were also interesting level changes then.

The mobile is old, but its ok. The price was doable and something we can pretty up and resell if we need to. But best of all the location is good. It sure needs landscaping but hard to do and not live there full time. DIL is going down and watering what we have now. There are perinneals coming up she said.
I have lost my heart doc, our beautician, the optometrists at the eye clinic. Hubs too as we have the same heart doc. And I found a new one that is not going to work, can't get in till Feb and need new glasses now. What a mess. I feel like I look like a mess. My hair won't get done till next week nor DD, we are beyond shaggy.
Ok, got to get ready to go and see about my eye. Later all.

I'm sure you will be fine, but it does suck when you have to replace various providers you have worked with for years. Thanks for reminding me though. Today is Wednesday. Maybe I can get into a dentist practice I'd like to join. It's very close to where I live and I think today is currently the designated late night. Did any of your old providers give you suggestions on who to try next? And I am certain you will get some landscaping done if not on the scale and quickness you are used to. I do what's called micro gardening. I just have these spots in front of the building I can do a bit of gardening in. When I have time or need a break from this laptop, I pop out there and do something. Since it is spring there is lots to do, but real bad out there for my allergies. Need to trim down one azalea bush, a way too big pine tree, plus I'd like to move some daffodil bulbs that haven't bloomed since this tree has gotten so tall and wide. Turns out they are much harder to get out than the lily bulbs I thinned out mid April.

Probably 3.5 hours for the lawn and trails and 2 hours to do the pasture (another 2 acres or so). Then time for trimming and such. And yes. I do have a nice John Deere rider. Sometimes I just use the time to think and plan, other times, I put on my noise cancelling headphones with an audiobook playing.

I guess you've never been my kind of sick.Maybe not Opti ... but jerseygirl is currently battling cancer, and she's a lot older than you are. She's been nothing but kind and supportive to you when many posters refuse to even engage with you anymore. Shame on you for attacking her like that for making a perfectly reasonable suggestion, ie to get your meds transferred to the pharmacy that is closest to where you live. For YOUR convenience, not hers! I unblock you for 24 hours hoping to read that things are going better for you, and then I see this. EVERYBODY ON THIS BOARD HAS THEIR ISSUES. How can you not understand this?! I don't think you guys understand. I don't know why her having cancer makes it acceptable to attack me. But enough with the tags. I don't know if its martian energy that has a bunch of you wound up, but I'm staying clear of you all. Attack someone else. But, there is nothing to transfer. I picked up my scrip days ago and it has no refills. Plus to my knowledge Walgreens for example does not transfer called in scrips to CVS. nor a grocery store pharmacy doing a transfer from a new doctor to me to a Rite Aid I would have no existing pharmacy relationship with. I acknowledged it was a reasonable suggestion for the future. It is not needed now ... at all. I have walked to this drugstore if that makes it easier to understand quite a few times since I have been stranded. I have bought liquid Mucinex. I ran out of my OTC allergy meds so that was this mornings planned trip. I think you all just want to be mad at me and use me as target practice. Kick someone else if that's where your head is at. How much older really though is Jerseygirl compared to me? I think I read the other day your DH is my age. And frankly people age differently. Plus there is aging well-funded and there is aging not well-funded. Would not recommend spending your 40s, 50s and 60s underfunded. And if we really need to play sympathy cards for some reason. My dad is wheelchair bound in another state at age 90. He has professed to multiple people he wants to die. To not burden his heart, I have not reached out to him during all of this. My sister who helps him, actually would not walk a 1/4 mile after working all day because it is too painful. She spends a lot of time on the couch and my dad spends most of his time in bed. You totally missed the point, Opti. As recently as Friday you were lamenting needing a ride to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. Why did you not transfer that prescription to the closer pharmacy instead of spending time and worry about how to pick it up? Anyway, that is done. For the future, have them filled at the pharmacy across the street! I have had prescriptions transferred from one pharmacy to another, all over the place, including out of state when I've been traveling. It takes a phone call. (Kind of like when I pointed out to you that you didn't need to figure out how to add to a photograph to send to the body shop, circling the body damage from the tow. Why teach yourself something you don't already know how to do when you are already stressed out, but a phone call to the body shop telling them where to look would do the trick?) No one has attacked you here. Jerseygirl certainly did not attack you! She pointed out something absolutely obvious to most of us here, ending with sage advice: Don't complicate life. I have pointed out to you on several occasions how you complicate your life and we can see how those complications of your own creation are stressing you out. If you saw the same in another poster, I think you would also point it out. My opinion: you attacked jerseygirl for stating the obvious. It is clear you have your challenges navigating everyday life. One thing I have come to realize is that I am pretty much the sum total of the choices I have made up to this point. I've had setbacks. Haven't we all? I couldn't change things out of my control but I DO CONTROL THE DECISIONS I MAKE IN RESPONSE TO THOSE CHANGES. Don't complicate life. Sage advice for us all.

MPL, what is the status on Gus and you and your neighbors getting a horse quorum for a vet? Still waiting. Apparently she got hers done a month ago and doesn't need him yet, but gave him my number and he's supposed to be contacting me to set something up. I'm going to see if my aunt needs hers done. She doesn't like to get this guy though because he charges so much ($60 instead of $40 that the Amish charges), but she only has 2 and has tons of money, so come on...plus she has to go GET the Amish and bring them to our house which is a long drive.

Perhaps another block buster for meds like Ozempic Wygovey - semiglutides. Treat alcohol dependency?? Dan Drucker from Canada is the researcher who discovered the 2 polypeptides that affect small bowel nutrient and water absorption (Gattex). And far more successful the one that affects insulin/glucose levels such as Ozempic. And a ‘side effect’ of weight loss. Now maybe alcoholism?? Hang on stock market!! Yes Dan is Canadian but all these drugs were put through needed clinical trials etc by US companies to get regulatory approval to sell Met him once, a lovely modest man insight.jci.org/articles/view/170671/pdf

I'm dealing with that right now for a product that we're trying to introduce in China.

I'm feeling a little frustrated right now. Tried to book mammo appt but they said Dr has to put in an order-first time I've ever had to have that. And Dr.'s nurse says he will want to see me first so no telling when I can get an appointment for that. Then I called the limo service to book the airport run and they are busy and will have to call me back sometime. I was, however, successful in getting an 8:30 appt Monday for an oil change and inspection

So, we are selling DD's old Subaru Legacy Limited. It is a 2017 but it has 151,000 miles on it. It has lots of features including eye sight. I posted the car, features and pictures of outside. A guy texted me this am, asked for interior pics and vin. Just texted back and said they would purchase car. I priced at mid point of Private Party. I made the mistake of mentioning to my SIL that it would be a good car for her on Sunday. She texted me this am that her Husband wants to come look at it tonight if we haven't sold it already. I don't know if they are thinking they can buy it cheap or what. DH thinks they don't have the $$ to buy the car. I tried to call DH to ask how to respond, but no answer (he is working). So I texted him and asked what to do.

My internet has been iffy all week and part of last. Having problems making calls with both my VOIP and my smartphone. Yet the scammers want to call me. Luckily instead of the usual strong ring, they are ringing really quietly. Got yet another real estate scammer. Wanted to talk to me about some property I own. x 1000 Perhaps we can talk about the property you are giving me free and clear Mr. Scammer...
