I instructed DH that if I die from boredom during this meeting to bury me with my phone so the kids can't have it.

So did DS. He recommended it to me. It's on my list. Don't watch it with your younger girls and make sure you use subtitles! Oddly enough, my name was used in the 3rd season ... a very rare occurrence

There was a scorpion in my bathtub this morning. It's going to be one of those days. . I don't mind creepy crawleys in general (whining flying vampires is something else) but this seems to call for a flame thrower or its equivalent!

Need to get moving. Found out yesterday I have to get a x-ray before seeing surgeon this morning. The place only opens a 1/2 before my appointment with the surgeon. Thinking I am going to be late for the appointment. Good luck with your appointment. Really hope you don't need another surgery!

Derry Girls is soooo funny Especially if you’ve gone to Catholic school with nuns Now I might have to watch it. Catholic girls school through secondary school. I had to go to college to get away from that and to have any boys in the same classroom LOL

Is it possible to die but your body continues to participate in the 4 hour long Zoom meeting?Because I think that's what happened to me about an hour ago. JFC it's only 10:13. Two more hours! yes.

I am working on using foods on hand.
Last night used up a bag of stirfry veggies plus a package of tofu, and a package of kielbasa from the freezer, plus some mixed frozen veggies from my garden.
Lunch today killed the rest of a package of shrimp scampi with some angel hair pasta, used up the rest of both. There wasn't a lot in either package.
I did pitch some soup beans, had been frozen, ate some but didn't want the rest.
It got chilly out, its what mom called blackberry winter, after some plants bloom, it gets cold one last time. We had some rain so 60 out. The house felt really cold so turned the heat to 73.
Tonight, I'm thinking chili for hubs and a frozen package or half of a pound of smelts deep fried for dinner. The rest of the ground round for a burger for DD. Will use up some more frozen items.
I spent $25 at the grocer for 5 pounds of potatoes, a 52 ounce jug of real orange juice for $3.50 on sale. A container of cottage cheese, gallon of 2% milk, Blue Belle ice cream, and that's it. Had a $5 off coupon for spending X number of dollars there. Minimizing what I am buying.
DD is happy as can be with pasta, she doesn't get it too often anymore. She told me she is full, I didn't want any of it and it was a good sized serving for her.
Most of the time I don't mind fixing different foods for us. Just sometimes I get burned out on cooking. Doing ok right now.
Found out our money market right now is earning 4.73%. That's good.

They are delivering our new beds the 18th, now that is fast service. Ordered them Sunday, had them at the delivery place last night. Now delivering and setting up Thursday.
Tomorrow, me to see about watering eye. Of course the prednisone cleared it up and stopped that, so likely nothing done. Got DD her chiro appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Poor girl has been after me to do it for a couple of weeks.
Can't get glasses at the new optometrist, my scrip is expired, so likely have to select another.
Was up early, keep trying to take a nap.

Wish I could get a new bed now, long overdue, but need to wait. Have to do the car stuff first and then can broach the issue of replacing my mattress, the platform bed, and the rug ... all not on the first floor and the stairs are not a straight shot in either. Lots of crap on the stairs as well because my basement storage keeps taking on water for various reasons. Need to start reporting more often to management formally so this building can be on the list of basements that need repairs. I think this is the only building that the bottom of the basement stairs out the door to the basement have lots of green moss growing. (Might harvest some for Crestie. Maybe... ) Hope I have a vehicle in time for my eye doctor appointment which is thankfully more than a month in the future.

A scorpion? I'd need training, really good leather gloves and maybe a big long hammer. Ick!

Or maybe just Raid Max Spider and Scorpion Killer. If it doesn't get the scorpion immediately, it should at least weaken it enough so it can be removed safely or killed by other means.

Off to the Giant Causeway in Belfast. Today was a cluster)$&. There are 2 excursions, about an hour apart. When we got on, the bus was really full. Viking tends to have tour groups anywhere from 15-22 people, so quite unusual. It looks like some did not pay attention to the correct number on their ticket. We lost about half the bus! Did you ever watch "Derry Girls"? It was hilarious! Anyway, your post made me smile because I remember the excellent line "tourists f'ing love the Giant's Causeway" It really is pretty cool. It’s even more interesting to learn how it was formed. Definitely worth seeing if you like unusual rock formations and geology.

I have a friend whose house and property are infested with scorpions-they find many each year and she has been stung multiple times. As the property is officially recognized as a Monarch habitat, she can't use any pesticides outside or inside so they just smash them when they see them.
I don't like pesticides either but scorpions scare the (*#@) out of me. The ones here won't kill you, or even make you very sick, but they do hurt a lot.

Had a fairly productive day - showered, got bird seed and fire ant killer. I went with the nuclear option as my organic ant killer is just relocating them without fatalities. Then ran by the cleaners to pick up clothes. After lunch we popped into CVS so DH could get another daily pill box as our upcoming trip is 10 days and his current box is only for 7.
We got an overnight package with our tickets, luggage tags, lanyards, wristbands, etc. and a form to select our food options on the included lunches and dinners.

I've lost an entire load of towels. All the "good" bath towels too. My house isn't that big and only so many places for clean or dirty laundry to end up. A single towel could disappear and I wouldn't think too much of it, but literally an entire load is MIA. Just doesn't make sense.

Did my 1/4 mile walk to a pharmacy and got needed OTC allergy meds. Unfortunately, they were out of stock of my preferred eye drop brand so I may be doing a pharmacy or Target order later today for ship to me. Finishing up my usual morning stuff then will see if I can do what I wanted to do yesterday morning about this time. Only a quarter mile?? You’ve been complaining about not being able to get meds cause you didn’t have a car, couldn’t get a ride??!! Are your prescriptions at a different pharmacy? If so call and get them transferred to this very close pharmacy. Don’t complicate life!! Hell, I could probably throw something a quarter mile and you could catch it. I can't imagine being able bodied and not taking meds because I'd have to walk 1/4 mile.

We don't have scorpions here, but I've killed 2 brown recluse spiders over the last few days.

It is and I have a lot of stuff to do, but DH is obsessing about stuff that's out there, waaaaaay out there, like am I sure the whale-watching tour I booked will get us back to the ship before it sails. I'm pretty sure the tour company doesn't usually leave clients, behind but that's a great question to ask the tour company rep WHEN WE GET ON THE SHIP, not a month in advance. I still need to book the car to the airport and back, set up vacation watch with our local security folks, get a key and emergency contact info to the neighbor, and somehow communicate to our landscaper to mow the front only for at least one week as the back gate will be chained.

I am so burned out. FOUR HOURS of the worst meeting of my life. All it was was about solving problems and she went on so many tangents I couldn't figure out WTF we were talking about. Why do I need a flow chart, sticky notes, a white board, a formally named process and 8 meetings to discuss someone knocking a beaker off the bench? The solution is contain and clean as appropriate, fill out proper documentation and move the freaking beakers for next time! Boom I condensed four hours into one sentence.

I feel this, hard. after spending a shitty night in a hotel at my own expense (since this is now my office) to be able to make heavy face time since I'd only be there Monday and upper mgmt was there til tomorrow, to then get to the office to find none of my team there til after 9am and all I did other than the pair of team meetings was take the same calls I take from my kitchen? yah, I'm all set with corporate bullshit rn. hugs, lady.

She is filling out the stuff for FMLA and, oh wait, going to the pharmacy for medicine. I'll admit that she said she walked there today, but that doesn't mean she felt like walking there yesterday. jerseygirl's advice was good: don't complicate life! But that isn't a license to on her.

I'm no longer in the work world, and was never in the science lab world, but seriously? I can understand that a broken beaker might disrupt a process and is not a good thing. But, unless said broken beaker created a biohazard for the world (aka smallpox experiments), what could possibly warrant more than cleaning of incident, documentation of incident, and recommendations to prevent future incident? If so many people have to attend a 4-hour meeting to discuss beaker incident, how is work getting done back on the home front with beakers?

I think tomorrow will be appointment booking day. I'll try to do an oil change/state inspection thing in the next couple of weeks, schedule a mammogram for some time after July 16 (has to be 12 months after last one for Medicare coverage) and I pray they still have Saturday appointments to avoid parking nightmare, and schedule an eye exam so I can get new glasses this fall (no lab will fill an eye prescription over a year old)
